Lovely cottage, couple of gripes…. The kitchen extractor didn’t work, the power shower didn’t work (but the bath taps had a shower attachment which was great) and the big fluffy Insta friendly rug exploded EVERYWHERE. Pretty sure there were fleas too (but that’s always a risk from a dog friendly stay). Is the master bed really a Kingsize? My squirming baby would disagree. Would book again though. Stunning location.

Really lovely place to stay in Hutton-le-hole. Right in the centre but tucked away, so really quiet. Large garden and grassed area for shared used with the other properties, great for our dog. Property very nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again.

This is a very comfortable dog friendly cottage. There is a garden for the dogs to play in and ample parking. It is in a very pretty historic village. The accommodation was nicely fitted out and there is a washing machine. It is very quiet and delightful.

Adequate cottage
Positive: Location was perfect - cottage was large enough for 4 adults & 2 dogs
Living area comfortable & heating worked well
Bathroom was good
Negative: Beds were very uncomfortable, mattresses of poor quality
Kitchen poorly equipped - not even a dishcloth or tea towel & not advised that we needed to bring these
Directions to the property were not adequate - took
Us a while to find it & no mobile signal in the village - again could have been told this

A lovely cottage in beautiful village.Lots of great walks and fab places to eat we thoroughly enjoyed our roast at the pub. As a family of 4 adults an additional comfy chair in the lounge would of been a welcome addition as sofa was a squeeze for 3. As the weather was gorgeous 2 extra chairs outside the immediate property would of enabled us all to sit outside as the garden shown was communal rather than as we thought private to the cottage, a consideration when booking due to our pooch. Overall though a lovely stay, thankyou .

Lovely location and my son's favourite holiday cottage

Had a wonderful stay. Although we received the instructions on how to enter the house quite late, it was easy to find and our emails were answered really promptly, any questions were answered straight away which was great. The house was really comfortable and clean. A lovely place to stay. The village is beautiful and the kids loved the stream running through the middle. All in all we had a great holiday.

Had a lovely few days away. Cottage was just what we needed, lovely village location with walking routes around. Just a short drive to local towns like Pickering and Helmsley.
Definitely worth a trip, we will be back!

Thanks to Sam the lovely domestic lady .x

Positive: We booked this for a get away from the fireworks as one of our dogs is petrified! It was perfect! Nice location in a lovely village!
Negative: The WiFi in the main bedroom was a struggle. For some reason devices just dropped off the network and said the password was incorrect however in the front room it was fine!

Positive: Nice location, very clean, access to parking area with bike store and small enclosed field was a nice surprise. Good facilities and very modern but with old features also.
Negative: Bombarded with messages and emails upon booking looking to upsell private dining and extra insurance. Some of the plumbing at the property is a bit amateurish with drips here and there. Then bombarded with messages and emails upon checking out to leave a review. Got 3 messages in 5 days. Late check in time and early check out time. Cleaning fee separate to price which I’d rather just have included in the nightly rate.

Lovely cottage, great location, would recommend.
Positive: Moorland Cottage is clean well equipped and comfortable.
The property is in a great location, a handy base for exploring the many interesting places in the area. It is also in the center of Hutton Le Hole, with its numerous footpaths and near the local pub.
Negative: Very little to criticize, there’s no mobile signal in the area and the Moorland cottage WiFi doesn’t quite reach the main bedroom.

Positive: The cottage was immaculately clean. We appreciated the smart decor and modern fitments. Everything was of a high standard and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.0

This cottage was very well presented and located just behind the village pub and opposite the bakery and tearoom (both have limited opening hours so check ahead of time). Instructions to find the cottage are just a Google map location so make sure you check where you are going well before you arrive because there was no Vodafone signal or internet in the village before you get the Wi-Fi code. Great food at the Crown and Schoolhouse. Walking from the door and a relatively secure area for dog exercise behind the property. A lovely cottage!

Quiet family break, just what I needed
Positive: Super clean, well maintained, excellent location
Negative: Nothing, lovely little village
JuliaBooking.comAug 2026
Positive: The property was good but lacked some maintenance. The tap in the bathroom drips, one window the glass was broken. We went to use the First Aid box as my husband cut himself and it was completely empty
Negative: Our final night there was a big party next door which went on from midday until 3am in the garden. There was definitely attending or hosting the owners or managers of where we were staying. They had taken some of the tables from the garden. My husband asked them to reduce the noise about 12mn and they all went in the garden and shouted more.

Amazing Cottage
Positive: Everything!! Location great for exploring the local area, spotlessly clean & well equipped with everything we needed. (Except an iron perhaps) Perfect if travelling with a pet as the courtyard is enclosed & there’s a shared field to sit in. Loved the pub next door.
Negative: That it wasn’t available to stay a little longer….

Lovely cottage in amazing village
Positive: Lovely and clean, modern furniture with added touches , everything you need in the kitchen, bed linen was really good quality, bed comfortable.
Negative: The fact all the cottages on booking are as “Moorland Cottages” twice people were trying to get in as it said Moorland Cottage on their booking !! The laundry room was next to the bedroom and guests washing their clothes over night woke me up and was like having the washer in the bedroom
Not good for light sleepers !

Poor customer service
Positive: Lovely village and cottage. Good location of cottage in the village.
Negative: Requested no feather pillows and quilt due to allergy. Property confirmed this could be accommodated at time of booking. On arrival this had not been followed through. Eventually got through to host and stay who contacted the owner to get someone to swap out. Got told this wouldn't happen until the following morning.this meant no pillows or quilt for the night. We were expected to except this. Ended up unable to sleep at the cottage that night. Then got told from the owner they couldn't accommodate swapping them on this occasion?? We ended up having to get some pillows and a quilt so we could stay at the cottage as host and stay would not refund our money as we had not taken a cancellation policy. As host and stay take the money as soon as you press book from then on you have no chance of getting any money back even if its there fault for not providing adequate bedding as requested.
Apart from this everything else was OK. Our guest experience on this occasion wasn't a very good one

Wonderful
Positive: The cottage was very cosy. Beautifully decorated
Negative: It was quite cold when we arrived. Needed to wait a bit to get warm. If it lets you pre set the heating an hour before arrival time it would make it perfect.

I know the area very well and have stayed in other cottages in the area.\nAlthough the cottage was nice it did lack a few amenities. There were no cleaning cloths and only one tea towel. There was a rug in the living room that shed fibers continually. It may seem trivial but I think these things are important such as cooking foil and cling film. \nAfter going out for the day Boxing Day we found we had no where to park as the parking area was full.\nOtherwise we had a good break\nAileen Mell

The cottage was in a lovely location and first impressions were very good, but we had an issue with the central heating which didn’t get resolved and spent the majority of the break cold especially in the bedrooms.

A great week in this beautiful cottage. Would definitely return if visiting the area again.
Positive: Beautiful location, very pretty cottage and nicely decorated. Was a great addition having the communal washing machine and tumble dryer. The location was so quiet and the locals are all so friendly. (Even the village sheep)
Negative: The beds weren’t comfortable. The double wasn’t as bad as the single beds and they definitely need replacing. A very unpleasant smell from the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Also the towels are way too small. Apart from these minor flaws we had a lovely stay.

Beautiful Country Cottage
Positive: Instructions to the property were great until we got into Hutton le hole itself, but there were no lane/street signs for the last little bit and as there is no wifi or phone reception in the village at all, it meant we struggled to actually get to the cottage itself. Eventually we asked at the local pub and the very nice Landlord came out of the pub and took us to the cottage, its that close. The pub was delightful, a stone’s throw from the cottage and served delicious food, highly recommend! The cottage itself was absolutely gorgeous, just like the photos, but even better. It was spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds and whiter than white crisp sheets and bedding. The property management company were great, very quick to respond to our emails. Our only complaint was the heating, we could not get ANY of the radiators to work, despite following the instruction in the guide book and the instructions from the property management company. Luckily there was a free standing plug in heater in one of the wardrobes, which we plugged in the bedroom shut the door and warmed one room up at a time. Apart from this everything else was great, and we would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay in pretty village.
GuestAirbnbApr 2025
A well appointed cottage in a picturesque location. A welcoming pub next door (with slightly odd opening times in March) and plenty of walks locally and a short drive away. Many attractions are 15-30 mins drive so you won't be lost for something to do, but if you are the cottage is quiet and comfortable with a nice shared garden area to relax in.

A lovely place to stay in a beautiful village
PaulaBooking.comNov 2024
Positive: Lovely clean, comfortable spacious cottage . Close to a lovely village pub serving lovely food.
Lovely comfortable bed with spotless linen.
Negative: No cleaning products to keep things clean. I usually take my own but due to booking at the last minute I forgot to take washing up liquid, spray etc.
Although the towels were soft and clean they were too small.
Absolutely freezing when we arrived & struggled to keep it warm on the first night
Not a problem on the second night. Much cosier.
