The video sent prior to checking in was very helpful for accessing the property. We had an enjoyable stay to see in the New Year in Hexham. Good friendly atmosphere in the town and some excellent places to enjoy a meal and a drink. The cottage is in a nice part of Hexham with a handy Co-op nearby. There is no dedicated parking but found no difficulty finding a space. Good bus services past house. The property has been tastefully furnished and is well equipped. We were there during a cold period, but the central heating generally kept the living room and sleeping area comfortable. The entrance door opens directly into the kitchen area. The small kitchen has no heating and so was always cold. This is not helped by the fact that the entrance door is draughty compounding the chill. The kitchen however, was only really used for preparation of breakfast and snacks. Nice powerful shower and everything was spotless on arrival. The property was nice and private, would stay again.

What a dreadful mistake I made choosing this Positive: On street free parking Negative: Very disappointing accommodation. It was so poor that I booked alternative accommodation for my second night. The flat is cramped, poorly equipped and badly looked after. The beds are exceptionally narrow and unsuitable for adults, with ill-fitting, crumpled bedding. Constant traffic noise throughout the night made sleeping extremely difficult. The kitchen is particularly poor: no hob or oven, inadequate crockery, and cutlery that appeared dirty/greasy. Crockery was inexplicably stored in the TV cabinet; despite contacting the host, I was unable to find it and eventually had to buy a plate and glass myself. The TV is tiny, and despite the listing stating that Freeview and streaming were available, streaming was not available and some Freeview channels could not be accessed. There are very few electrical sockets, none conveniently located for the beds or sofa. There is no shelf or suitable surface in the bathroom for toiletries, no useful surface near the sofa, and inadequate lighting over the dining table. These are not minor matters of personal preference. Taken together, they made the property uncomfortable, impractical and unsuitable for a normal stay. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

Positive: Well designed and comfortable, great shower. Nice walk into town via the park. Modern facilities and decor. Negative: A little far from town, on a fairly busy road.

You get several automated emails/SMS, but it's not always clear which of them apply to you or not (myself non-Britain tourist). After coming-in the WiFi does not work, after rebooting the router and many emails with the resonsibles it was found that there was a misreading in the password; it would have been better if it's computer and not hand-written to get rid of such misunderstandings. Unfortunately the lodge lies on a very busy road and the distance between the house and the road is only 1 meter. So in principle the cars drive through your living room, i.e. it's quite noisy between 6am and 10pm. Additionally, the whole lodge cannot be darkened very good which means that light turns in early in the morning. Lastly it's not feasable for elderly people as there are many steps upwards to the sleeping room, upwards to the kitchen and downwards to the living room and a long distance from sleeping room to bathroom. You have to park your car round the corner, i.e. loading off and on is challenging. I had a bicycle with me and it was horrible to bring it in and out.

Apartment was excellent and fully equipped with all you require for a very enjoyable stay. Good space in all areas and very clean. Easy walking distance to local areas including pubs and restaurants. I would certainly recommend for anyone thinking of locating in this area. Would certainly look to book again.

Lovely quirky accommodation, very clean and everything you need. Line of communcation always open with air b&b all which was good. The door to the rest of the apartment was very stiff and couldn’t access it without lifting it, once we figured this out it was great. We did end up leaving early as our 14 month daughter couldn’t settle there, would be great with a non mobile baby but the mini stairs were an accident waiting to happen for us. Be great in a couple of years time when daughter is older. Could really do with blackout blinds on the top windows too, we actually stayed on the sofa bed downstairs because it was too light upstairs none of us could sleep. It is also very close to the road which isn’t great if you are a light sleeper, but we had read this in a review so it wasn’t a surprise. Parking was fine, managed to get a space on the lane seconds away. Everything else was lovely, very clean, very comfortable, nice touches with the wine and crisps and milk in the fridge.

Positive: Excellent property and good prompt & clear communication

heerlijk weekend, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Positive: lokatie, fijne inrichting, supermarkt om de hoek. Negative: extra kosten voor eventueel vroeger inchecken/bagage drop waren belachelijk hoog.

A clean and caringly furnished property that made good use of the small space. Well equipped, given the limited cooking facilities. Brochures and maps of the area were much appreciated. The front door opens straight onto the street and in the daytime this is quite busy. It quietens at night though. An electric fan would be a welcome piece of equipment.

Nice place. Kitchen very small but adequate for our short stay. The road was a bit noisy so light sleepers may need ear plugs.

Very nice place, felt private and very comfortable and chilled with plenty within walking distance as well as easy to find a place to park really close to the location.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Positive: Good location/base. Provision of detailed guidance from Host on Stay covering the property, facilities and local sites, restaurants, shops, etc Negative: Can't think of anything.

Nice and cozy 10 minutes walk from the centre

Spoilt by the road noise (not the owners fault) but a warning of the issue should have been notified Negative: Toaster found to be faulty on first morning and though reported to hostandstay was not replaced so unable to have toast for breakfast (we had purchased bread, butter and preserves at a local shop). Main problem was the excessive road transport noise which started at 4 in the morning and lasted till 01:00 hours. This caused lack of good sleep which led to cutting short our stay to go home and get a good nights sleep.

ALRIGHT FOR A SHORT STAY, Positive: Spotlessly clean, modern decor, hot water, plenty of kitchen utensils although we did not use many of them. Very close to a supermarket with long hours, Negative: Had difficulty collecting keys from the key pad and needed help,. Then we could not access the property and once again needed help from the owner who also had difficulty. Departure time of 10.00 is early as our flight was late at night so had to keep the luggage with us. rather than leaving at a reception,. Property at top of a hill. Would be better with a car.

Tolles Apartment, toller Aufenthalt! Positive: Als das Apartment endlich gefunden war, konnten wir auch die Schlüsselbox finden. War aber sehr kompliziert durch irritierende Angabe der Adresse. Negative: Die Adresse wird auf allen Maps zu einem falschen Haus geführt. Es sollte die Adresse des Millers Couch House angegeben sein (wo die rote Tür tatsächlich ist) - dann ist es auch kein Problem mit der Beschreibung die Schlüsselbox zu finden. Wir mussten lange im Regen suchen und mit einem Mitarbeiter von booking.com telefonieren bis wir alles gefunden hatten.

Much better than the Travelodge! :) Positive: Lovely place, very clean and well maintained. Very kind and considerate hosts. Negative: The beds are set up as 2 singles, rather than a double, due to the position of the stairs leading up.
