A beautiful property in a rural location but we did experience some issues that did negatively impact our stay. Positive: The property is in a lovely rural location, so really quiet & peaceful. The house was spacious downstairs, so with a party of 7 family members, there was lots of space downstairs for everyone. Negative: A number of things were wrong, which did negatively impact our stay: - There was a window left open when we arrived in the evening, the heating wasn’t on & there was no firewood provided, so the property was extremely cold on the first night. We then had to buy our own firewood the following day to last the weekend, as the property doesn’t come with wood fire - don’t be deceived by the log basket in the photos! - The bannister on the main stairs is very wobbly & feels like it is going to come away, which isn’t ideal when somebody needs support to climb the stairs. - The booking didn’t inform that there were attic rooms, which had steep stairs to get too, with only half a bannister. This is quite dangerous. You also have to walk through a room with 2 single beds to get to a double room - this wasn’t mentioned either. - Considering size of property, it would benefit with further bathrooms. - Downstairs shower room had an issue with the drain, which caused an awful smell, that could be smelt in the kitchen from the pantry.

A perfect location for a family gathering! Positive: The house was a really good size, it comfortably fitted 8 adults and two teenagers. We all had room to move around and be independent or together, depending on what we wanted to do. The bedrooms were well maintained, comfortable beds and everyone reported that they slept really well. The kitchen was well stocked, it had everything needed to cook meals and there was a really good selection of glasses, cutlery and crockery. The fridge was a great size, the dishwasher was a welcome addition and the dining room table was big enough to host us all together in the evenings. We navigated the boiler and kept the house nice and warm, the underfloor heating was ideal in the conservatory. The wood burners in the sitting room and the dining room worked perfectly, we enjoyed being able to light fires in the afternoon / evening. There was plenty of parking at the front of the house. The gardens were really well kept and I would imagine this house would be lovely in the summer too. We all had a really lovely stay. Negative: A shower in the big bathroom would help to alleviate the queuing! I know there is one in the downstairs toilet, but ideally an extra one, upstairs, would be really helpful. A bit lacking on loo-roll, but we bought some more and left them in the property.

Ideal for family gatherings. Positive: Perfect for family get together. Spacious and comfortable. Quiet location but plenty of places to visit within reasonable distance. Negative: Stairs to top floor could do with some form of safety gate.

This was a really fantastic place to stay at with our family. There was plenty of space for us all, in particular the garden. A great base to explore Norfolk.

Positive: Very clean large house, pool table great fun, greet garden .would definitely come back Negative: Just to warn low beams if your over 6foot your bang your head ,very steep steps to top floor should be a sign warning ⚠️ dangerous to younger children

Our family had a lovely 3 night stay, the house was warm and homely, and the host thought of everything to make it home from home. Seven of us stayed, the rooms were spacious and we all felt we had ample of room. The house has a lot of history it was a privilege to feel a part of it. The resident swans and heron were a pure joy to watch in the garden along with other wildlife. We walked to the local pub and were met with a very friendly barman. Overall we will be very happy to return to this property very pleased.

The place was very well located and as described. The only problem we had was it was freezing for two days as the heating wasn’t working and it wasn’t explained in the manuel. (I would recommend updating the manuel or providing a video). Safe for dogs and children however does say dogs can’t go upstairs but there is nothing blocking the stairs. It was a lovely stay and we would stay there again, just a few things to enhance the stay! The hosts and condition of the property was amazing and it is a fully kitted out kitchen which really helped!

Over priced, terrible customer service Positive: Great location Negative: The property is attached and the rear garden is overlooked by the neighbours from their rear windows and patio . The neighbours on the other side have an aggressive dog that twice tried to get through a flimsy bamboo fence to get to our dogs. The house could do with a freshen up as lots dust and cobwebs are present.the rear garden should have at least one life buoy as not everyone can swim .

We had a lovely stay at Mill House. Plenty of space for 4 couples with 4 babies. The garden was amazing and a real highlight of the house. A few minor improvements could be made, which we’ve messaged the hosts about. The house is fairly remote, so if you don’t mind driving 30/40 minutes to tourist attractions, then it’s ideal.

Mill House was perfect for our weekend family gathering. Photos and description were accurate and it was clean and well stocked. The snooker table just off the dining area was a lovely addition as it kept us all together when not sitting in front of a roaring fire. Lovely location, would recommend.

Genuinely very impressed with this property. My friends and I had a fantastic weekend and didn’t want to leave! Impressively clean for a historic property of this size. The garden was much bigger than expected and the rooms felt more spacious than the pictures. Lots of little quirks and lovely bits of art and books. Easy self check-in with keysafe. Beautiful surroundings and lovely local walks. Long private driveway. The only tiny downfall was that for a stay of 9 people for 3 nights, we were only provided with one black bin bag. I called the host (an agency) to ask where they kept them, and the American operator was friendly but didn’t seem to know the property intimately, and her response was that they tend to only provide one refuse bag per stay per property so that was that. A bit strange, especially as you’re expected to take the indoor bins out to the big ones in driveway before end of stay. Other than that, fantastic house and would highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful house and gardens, photos didn’t do this place justice there was so much more space than we expected. It was perfect for a family’s birthday celebrations. Also spotless on arrival, great communication regarding check in and issues with hot water (easily resolved). Local pubs and shop, and a short drive to places like wells next the sea and Cromer. Would highly recommend for a large group.

Lovely for us as we know the house and took bodyboards to enjoy the river Positive: Nice old house, beautifully restored. Negative: Not enough toilets. 6 of us sharing one shower room was annoying when the master suite was unnecessarily huge but no lock on the door to enable sharing.

GuestAirbnbJul 2026

The good: Stunning area to stay in. The garden is the selling point being on the water edge with beautiful flora. The house is very large and easily fit 6 of us, and a visiting guest with no one getting under feet. The kitchen is a dream to cook in with plenty of space and the range is easy to use Lots of privacy in the area and very welcoming and comfortable. The Bad: There were issues with hot water - it was rarely above tepid. A little privacy issue as one bedroom is only accessible through another bedroom. Stairs Of Death leading up to the attic rooms, extremely steep, extremely narrow, and very low beams above. Be careful going down these.

Lage und Haus wie im Film Positive: So ein schönes Haus. Wir waren zu fünft und für diese Personenanzahl war es wirklich super. Negative: Wasser war leider kalt.

Lovely period property in beautiful rural location-very enjoyable long weekend away with family for birthday celebration

Apart from the first evening we had a lovely stay. Positive: Lovely furnished property and clean. Good quiet location. Negative: The property was very cold upon arrival. The heating was not on and the upstairs bedrooms were 8 degrees! It took a while for the property to heat up and we had dinner in our coats! This was not a great start to our long weekend in the property.

All very good indeed. Great historical house very nicely preserved.

Had an amazing trip in a home that was exactly what we needed. Beautiful property that was obviously well looked after, with everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend. Also couldn’t recommend Becks fish and chips enough, a must try if you stay, especially the curry sauce.

Lovely statin a gorgeous house Positive: Lovely house with large reception and bedrooms; comfy beds and a lovely setting Negative: Limited bathrooms but we managed okay

GuestAirbnbJun 2025

When we arrived the property clearly hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupants, beds unmade, dirty towels on beds and dirty kitchen sink. This was queried the next day as there was no answer from the 24/7 helpline. Had to book into hotels as the cleaner didn't arrive the next day, I had to call again to say it was still unclean and only then was I told they couldn't get the cleaner out until Thursday, we were due to check out on Friday! We did get a full refund after contacting Airbnb, but this was a very stressful experience and would not want to book through this holiday letting company again.

Great place to stay - beautiful big house. We enjoyed it very much!

SallyanneBooking.comFeb 2025

A beautiful house where you’ll struggle not to feel relaxed! Positive: The Mill House welcomed us with a tea tray full of goodies, log burners in the main rooms and a kitchen big enough to cook, entertain and gather. Beautiful location next to the Mill Pond which enables you to sit outside and just relax listening to the water and watching the swans. Negative: No negatives - just for awareness for anyone staying up on the 2nd floor in the top bedrooms. When we arrived it was a cold day and the top rooms were freezing - but once we had found the heating system ( read the black information folder left in the house), the rooms heated up really quickly and were lovely and warm for our whole stay!
