Very enjoyable Positive: Great area to exercise the dogs. Negative: All good, just difficulty in releasing the key from box. You send one code a few days before arrival so I didn't expect another code. The kind lady and gentleman in the farmhouse helped us. Also parking places are out of date on the Email you sent, needs looking at as does the first code.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mill – a lovely cottage that exceeded our expectations. The cleanliness was exceptional, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in the midst of truly beautiful surroundings. It served as the perfect getaway for us, providing a peaceful retreat to visit family and find some much-needed rest, especially considering my pregnancy. Our dog, Cali, also had a fantastic time, enjoying the abundance of amazing walks available. Overall, it was a delightful experience that we would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Mill for 3 nights while visiting family locally. It was perfect for us and the workers we met on the farm were really friendly. My 2 lads love fishing and spent a day at the reservoir, and there are plenty of places to walk and take dogs, all of which a short drive away. \nThere was plenty of parking and everything in the property was user friendly. The interior was warm and cosy and catered to all our needs.

Great stay for family members who attended our wedding at Healey Barn

A great place to stay while attending a wedding at Slaley Hall. Glad we had a head's up about the squeaky floors from another review - knew to bring earplugs :) Well furnished and equipped with very comfy beds.

The Mill is lovely and was great for an event at The Byirs not far away. It's well equipped and tastefully decorated, warm and cosy, in a stunning and peaceful area. All the communications were timely and info was comprehensive, though I'd recommend taking a screenshot of the directions and entry instructions as mobile service isn't great in this remote area. The upstairs floorboards were very - very - creaky (it's an old building) but unfortunately so was one of the single mattresses, so it wasn't great for sleep there. I'm sure that could be easily fixed. We'd have liked to have had the bedside lights that were in the photos but they weren't there when we stayed.

I had an absolutely lovely time staying at this beautiful little cottage over the Christmas holidays. It was the perfect peaceful retreat. The host was so communicative and the place was gorgeous. I got out for plenty of sunrises and runs around the Derwent. Glad to be back in the North. Thank you so much, I’ll definitely be back!

Beautifully presented, comfy, cosy cottage in very tranquil surroundings. So peaceful and no light pollution at night, so you can see so many stars! Bear in mind nearest shop is apx 30 mins drive away. This is a remote, beautiful location. Mix up when we arrived as wrong key code had been sent through for lock box. Called host number (we arrived late in evening) which took three attempts to get through, but they sorted it straightaway once I spoke to someone. Another person from the team also called me back within minutes from a prev voicemail I left, which was also reassuring. Definitely recommend this lovely cottage, a must for nature, fresh air and relaxing.

Positive: Maison charmante et confortable. Très calme (les logements mitoyens étaient vides). Stationnement facile. Negative: On a cherché un moment comment allumer le chauffage. Il faisait 15 degrés dans la maison à notre arrivée. Ensuite on a eu du mal à réguler une température correcte

The cottage was spotlessly clean and very adequate for our family holiday . It is in a great location for walking holidays and some beautiful restaurants in the area . The hosts were very clear with all their information and instructions and we would definitely stay again .

We had a very enjoyable stay - cosy very quiet given a working farm. It is somewhere I would really like to stay again. Beautiful surrounding first class.

We had a lovely few days at Mill. The cottage was clean and had all the essentials. Although I couldnt find the instructions for the dryer so made use of the clothes horse. Peaceful surroundings and lovely walks. Great days out at Beamish, Gibside and Wallington (all less than 45 minutes away). If we had better weather we would have ventured out to the coast. The kids loved it here and are already asking to come again!

The Mill was a really lovely house to stay in near the lovely Derwent Reservior.

We had a lovely stay. The accommodation was good value, in a lovely location, and everything was straightforward. It was perfect for our family for a few nights while visiting relatives nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at Winnows Farm - Mill despite some things needing attention. Positive: The location was brilliant for us, almost next door to the sailing club where I took part in an event. I liked the additional parking availability where I could put my boat trailer. I liked the quirkiness of the accomodation which was a barn conversion into 3 separate apartments. I liked that some coffee and tea were supplied and a toilet roll in the bathroom. It was a lovely quiet location. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The bathroom and toiletries were good. The wifi was great which turned out to be important because my mobile phone service didn't work at the location! Overall we enjoyed our stay despite the things we didn't like listed below. Negative: We did not receive the key code to get the keys before we arrived. The farm gamekeeper came by shortly after our arrival and was able to give us the code! Upon entry we noticed a water stain and a significant paint crack on the kitchen ceiling below the bathroom which we reported. It didn't give a good first impression but didn't affect our stay otherwise. The kitchen seats were showing a lot of wear and tear and needed new covers. The oven and hobs were quite dated but worked ok. The Microwave didn't work but the microwave combi grill did! This was a bit of a problem as we bought microwavable food with us. The microwave needs replacing. It would have been nice if a kitchen roll had been supplied. The bathroom toilet bowl was badly stained and gave a bad impression. We asked Host & Stay and booking.com to combine my two separate bookings into a single booking so we didn't have to leave the apartment for a cleaner to come in mid stay. We didn't get a clear reply and the bookings were not combined but we stayed in the apartment anyway!

A beautiful scenic location, with lovely surroundings for walks in the countryside. The accommodation is clean and a good size and has all the amenities needed.

We had a lovely stay at the Mill. It is very comfortable with everything you need to get away and relax.

Lovely cottage on a working farm set just on the edge of the Derwent Reservoir. stunning location! 20 mins to Hexham and Corbridge and 45mins into Newcastle City centre. The beaches of Northumberland within 1 hr. The cottage was warm, clean and well equiped.

Relaxing. Positive: The house was in great condition. It was good that there was Internet which I used to stay in contact with family members. Negative: I was unable to find the external bins as i only returned to the property after dark. The notice inside does not mention where the bins were. Due to the location it was difficult to get in contact with booking agent when I was unable to find the keys. The is no cell coverage in the area.

Positive: After booking and paying for our stay, the property contacted us re "finalising" our reservation. They demanded ID verification and a £250 damage deposit with £10 admin fee or £25 damage waiver. NONE OF THIS is mentioned in the policies/important information on booking.com. We paid the latter to avoid any "issues" getting our deposit back. The code for the key box had not been provided by check in - had to call to get it over the phone, was then sent. On arrival I turned on the kitchen tap - it fell apart in my hand. It was already broken but had been carefully "reassembled" to look OK. No phone coverage in the area and the Internet was both poor and intermittent throughout our stay. Negative: While the apartment itself was OK, the unexpected "ID verification" process and the extra costs re damage deposit, etc left an unpleasant feel. This needs to be mentioned on the property listing so that potential guests can view it before booking.
