Four of us and one dog stayed here ahead of me taking my part in the great north run! The house was lovely and spacious, great location, really clean and fab facilities! I would recommend slice pizza, it was the tastiest pizza I’ve ever eaten
We were glad to find a house on our dates that accepted dogs, however the single couch in the living room was extremely uncomfortable and no other alternative and where you’d expect 4 people to sit I do not know, the tv did not have terrestrial channels only LG and the living room looked cold and unfinished. The fridge was not refrigerating and we had to throw food away. On phoning host and stay I was informed that engineers had been out to it on the 15th July and said it was ok. It looks in good condition but not doing the job. Sort all the above out and we would look to book again as it was spotlessly clean Thank you.
Positive: All modern, new furniture and kitchen. Dog friendly, enclosed back yard as that's hard to search for. Spacious rooms. Negative: Was minimalist in furniture - needs a coffee table and another sofa/or armchair in the living room and we were lucky we brought sleep masks with us as there aren't any good blinds or curtains to block out the light in the main bedroom. If you're taking a dog I'd recommend bringing quite a few blankets as there's lots of slippery floors. I think we were one of the first people to stay, so with a few minor additions it would have scored another point from us.
A friend and I spent a lovely weekend here. The place was peaceful, clean and in a great location. Beds are super comfy. Side note, we found limited cleaning products and cloths which wasn’t really a big issue we were happy to contribute. The neighbours were lovey and were also the locals, they were happy to give us great locations and parts of the coast to visit. We would be delighted to stay again! Thank you ✨
The house was a lovely find. We usually stay further down the coast in Roker (which is also lovely) but it was booked. But we are so glad we found this property instead. The house is very tastefully decorated with lovely comfy furniture. The beds were especially comfy and we both slept really well. Even though it was near the main road, there was little to no traffic noise. There was everything we needed for our stay and we would really recommend to others to stay here. I think we will definitely be back at some point.
Milbanke House is a little gem in Seaham, ideally placed for a peaceful few days away and was just what I was looking for. The house was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything I needed. I was able to walk into the town centre within a few minutes and there are plenty of shops and cafes along the way. There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby too. The hosts were very helpful and fast to respond to my texts and I felt very happy with my choice. I’d happily recommend Milbanke House to anyone looking for a base to explore County Durham and the surrounding area.

Good location for our weekend away! Positive: Good location close to Seaham Town and its beaches. Beds exceptionally comfy with good quality bedding. Negative: The lounge let the property down as it felt very cold and soulless, the one and only settee was very uncomfortable, the room could benefit from another sofa or easy chairs as there wasn’t enough seating for 4 guests, it could also benefit from more soft furnishing i.e proper curtains and a rug to soften the wooden flooring and maybe some additional lighting so you don’t have to sit with the main light on. Sadly the tv didn’t work during our stay either, which was disappointing as reading other reviews it appears to have been the case for some time, on check out day even the next door neighbour made comment about the tv not working! Bit dismayed with the additional £25 that had to be paid prior to our arrival, this wasn’t made clear in any way on the property description and we had already paid a considerable amount to stay at the property. Property could also benefit from some coat hooks at the bottom of the stairs and perhaps another shower over the bath in the main bathroom.
We have stayed in a few places as we are working and this was the best so far! Just could do with a couple of armchairs in the front room if more than 2 staying as only on moderate settee in the front room. But lovely, and perfect location

This is a lovely airbnb - had everything we needed and an easy walk to Asda and to the beach. Comfortable and clean, easy to check in and views of the sea from the bedrooms. Thankyou !
Great holiday home, spacious, clean and tidy Positive: Warm, cosy, comfortable and clean. Located right by amenities. Its a terraced house in a quiet street. Everything you need is there for a short break. Would recommend Negative: Small issues. At night we felt like we were in a goldfish bowl as no curtains or blind on Lounge window. This has been flagged by previous guests but no action taken. One night was very windy and the noise down the chimney was quite loud. Luckily it wasn't drafty but could do with soundproofing. Also tv doesn't tune in for terrestrial channels. Minor gripe....teaspoons are too small to reach bottom of the mugs so impractical.

Comfortable, clean cosy house in the centre of Seaham Positive: Beautifully kept and tastefully furnished terraced house, on a quiet residential street in Seaham. A very comfortable and clean place to stay, that’s really cosy and warm. Central heating temperature is adjustable. The kitchen is well equipped and there’s tea, coffee, sugar and some milk sachets on arrival. There’s a full size fridge freezer in the kitchen. Outside parking not a problem. There is a car park in the back yard of the property, but we didn’t need to use it. Really convenient for Asda and the centre of Seaham (which is just over the street) and about a 25 minute walk to Vane Tempest Beach. The beds are really comfy - we slept like a dream! Also you can see a side view of the sea from the bedroom window. Negative: Just a few minor things for perfection! …. This is a lovely property! The curtains in the lounge are voile and transparent, so everyone can see in when the lights are on. The oven in the kitchen could do with a deep clean (but everything else was absolutely spotless). The en-suite electric shower in the ensuite bedroom takes a bit of getting used to - either very hot or cold - eco on high seemed to work best. Climbing out of the bed up the wall could be a little tricky if you’re not so mobile, but was ok for us.
Positive: The house was in the perfect location for us. It had all the amenities you should require. Negative: Firstly on our arrival the house was very cold and warmed up by the following morning. Secondly the cups for tea or coffee had not been cleaned , I had to clean two of them before we could use them, also the cutlery was not very clean so again had to clean before use. In the lounge by the window there are large amounts of paint peeling off the walls which lets the house down.
We were in Seaham to beachcomb for seaglass. Great location for that- convenient to beaches.

The ideal spot for a quick getaway. We were close to the beaches and town centre but had 2 very comfortable and peaceful night's sleep.

Was a lovely little Airbnb. Be perfect for anyone wanting to visit Seaham and be right next to shops, pubs and restaurants and also right next to the coast.
Stayed one night for the Great North Run. Despite the decent weather, there was quite a serious rising damp problem behind the TV (which doesn't receive the main channels - you will need a BBC iplayer and/or ITVX sign in to watch them) so much so that white spores had begun to form on the wall. The same can be found by the back door. Aside from this, all was well until we discovered that the ensuite shower was completely dead - not ideal as we all had to use the one shower in the main bathroom the following morning for an early start. Awaiting response from Host and Stay regarding this.

Easy parking outside and a quiet street, Negative: Space constraints mean that beds are pushed up to the wall on one side and this results in a tricky manoeuvre when going to the bathroom during the night,

The property was nice and in a central location to local amenities. Rooms were all a good size and description of property was accurate. Host was very responsive with messages. Two things for improvement. There was clear damp stains on the walls in the livingroom which looks to have been there for a considerable amount of time. The amount of upselling came over as very pushy and removed the personal touch you often get either Airbnb. For example offering early checkin but it was chargeable by the hour didn’t come across too well

Nice location, close to beaches and restaurants Positive: The house is just across the road from the harbour. It is a few minutes walk from a selection of useful shops and excellent restaurants . It has sea views from the bedroom windows. The host is very helpful and replies quickly to any questions. Toiletries are supplied and two toilet rolls were provided. Free parking outside the property was always available. Negative: There was a few sachets of tea, coffee and sugar and a few individual pots of milk but no welcoming snacks such as biscuits, or bread and butter. The window coverings need to be blackout curtains as the sunlight streams through at silly o’clock in the morning. The beds are positioned strangely, and pushed up to the wall so one person has to clamber in up the bottom of the bed!
Amazing place to stay & the ideal location as right on the harbour! Will definitely be returning and rebooking the same place as it’s close to all our family. Would definitely recommend, hosts were also very helpful

Clean and comfortable Negative: They MUST get a blackout style blind or at least a bedroom blind for the main bedroom rather than a blind that is not gears up for a bedroom. let’s in way too much light. Could not find BBC 1, BBC 2, ITV etc on the TV. Tried to retune but seems nothing being found on freeview. Having to use the internet eg. IPlayer for bbc, itv x for itv doesn’t work well
Our Stay Our overall impression of Milibanke House is that its location is great. It is quiet. The management lacks integrity and we encountered several issues.

Good location for a beach weekend! Positive: Good space, clean, hot water. Ok water pressure and hot water. Close to town and the beach. Great location. Quiet neighborhood Negative: The second bathroom doesn’t have a shower making it somewhat useless. The finishes were nice, new, but sort of without much thought to how the place would be used. I’m sure no one from the company has stayed there to try it out. Small things that add up. The mirrors in the bathroom are tiny. You can’t really relax in the living room with the way it’s set up with one couch and no coffee table. There are no paper towels or anything to dry your hands with. They give you one towel for everything like dishes and such. You can’t plug your phone in next to the bed. The window dressings are cheap and the cord fell off with one use. There are still price tags on the dishes. The company contacts you for a security deposit and won’t give you check in details until you pay it even though booking tells you not to so you wait outside the apartment without a way in until someone answers the phone. When you go to pay the security deposit, you have two options, one for 25 with a non refundable processing fee, and the other for 10 non refundable. Unprofessional, should be included in the price instead of nickel and diming you.
