Great location for the Tissington Trail and an easy walk into Ashbourne. Basic and clean accommodation for a family with 3 children.

Thank you for a fantastic stay. When we first pulled up we were initially apprehensive as the bins were overflowing right out the front of the house (no fault of the host, time of the year and sporadic bin dates). However, walking into the property we and our kids absolutely loved it, everything we needed and a short walk to the picturesque Ashbourne. A few areas needed a bit of tlc, the living room table is worse for wear, wobbly and wood is quite badly split. The front window in the single bedroom doesn't shut fully and we thought the kitchen could do with more equipment, bigger pans, whisk etc. All in all we loved our stay and would definitely return. As foster carers, this was our foster babies first trip away, so will always remember this place fondly. Thank you for a lovely stay, Dan

Lovely little house perfect for our family of 5 to stay in while we visited Alton towers. Very clean and well presented and fully equipped with everything you need. Great communication from the host too.

Positive: The house was perfect for our family! It was spotlessly clean. The bed linen and towels were clean and comfortable. The dishes were spotless. We really enjoyed the fireplace (we enjoyed the fire in the evening). Firewood can be purchased for 8 pounds at the nearby store. Alton Theme Park is a 20-minute drive away, and Aldi is a 2-minute drive away. Communication with the owners was pleasant and friendly. I recommend this wonderful house to everyone.

We were staying in Ashbourne for a 60th birthday celebration. The house was perfect for our family and it felt comfortable and had all that we needed for a weekend stay. The Host and Stay team dealt with any enquiries I had and responded very quickly to my emails which I was I impressed with.

Bins overflowing and despite promise to empty on Friday - still there on Monday. Very very very noisy and busy road and door opens straight onto it Dirty crockery Mould in bathroom Cigarette butts all over in the back garden and particularly in a garden planter Overgrown brambles so you cannot use the gate to access the footpath. And whilst not on your property the view from the back door has offensive language graffitied across it and is unsuitable for young families.

Gateway to the Peak District Great location, very easy walking distance to the pretty town centre of Ashbourne which has fantastic restaurants and bars. A short drive to Dovedale and beautiful walks. Lovely red brick house, with 3 bedrooms, a cosy living room, dining room kitchen and garden- great for friends or a small family.Mattresses, pillows and bedding ok, could have been a little better quality, and it would have been good to have better quality curtains. Sofas in the lounge were purposeful, but could have been comfier, as really made the lovely living area even cosier. Worked well for us for the two nights we stayed

Overall, the stay was good and did what we needed. Check-in was very easy using a door code, and the house matched the description in the listing. The location is good, in a pleasant area, and the house itself was comfortable inside. There were a couple of small issues. There were rubbish bags piling up outside near a window rather than being in bins, and there was some black mould around that window. The bathroom was also a bit grubby. I also felt that the upselling of the damage protection plan was a little pushy Despite that, it was good value for the price, in a good location, and generally a nice place to stay.

A nice house, a great value weekend. The house was clean and had three nice bedrooms. When we arrived the road was very busy, we decided to park further away from the house due to watching a stationary car be hit by a van close to the house but there is plenty of parking and much quieter just a short walk down the road. The location was nice and just as short walk from the village which had great places to eat and shops to browse. A great house to just be with friends, thank you.

Me and my family had a lovely stay. The house was exactly as described and the host was amazing throughout. The local town is beautiful and well worth a short walk to. The location is amazing if you want to discover the Peak District with its of trails and walks within a short distance. Overall I would highly recommend this place and defo coming back in the summer.

Lovely stay, great location for Alton towers and some great recommendations for food nearby.

Right in the centre of Ashbourne so we were able to easily walk into town. Had some communication issues with the hosts around the availability of a high chair and a cot, which had been shown in photos. I emailed to be told they could not be provided but when we arrived at the property both were there along with baby gates (although the cot was not in the best condition). The place was very clean. A suggestion would be to increase the quality of the bedding and mattress and also to provide better storage options in the bedrooms. The railing they had was very unsturdy and not really usable. All in all it was a decent place in a great location.

Lovely house in a quaint village. Close to amenities and Alton Towers. Great for dog walks in the location too. Kitchen well stocked with all you could need. Beds very comfortable.

We had a lovely stay at this property. The accommodation was perfect for our 5 person party and a great location for our trips to Alton Towers, with some lovely pubs/restaurants nearby and conveniently located for Aldi and the retail park. Yes, on street parking is a bit of a hit or miss directly outside the house, however always got parked near the property. For those who mentioned the uncomfortable sofa - it has been replaced! The garden was lovely and a perfect place to relax after a busy day. All in all, a comfortable stay and would have no hesitation to recommend this property.

Very good, thank you. Positive: Host was great and emailed and messaged all information to collect keys prior to arrival. The location of the property was great, shops and pubs nearby. The house was clean and was well stocked with essentials. Negative: Not the fault of the property, but the road was very busy outside so quite noisy, there was a lack of hanging places for clothes, nice to have would have been a loo roll holder.

Good value for money. Very clean and easy to get in.

Lovely place to stay in Ashbourne!

A great stay, perfect for 2 couples and one child. The house was spotless and great for our stay. Parking is on the road and can get a bit tight, not a problem for us at all - just something to be aware of.

Positive: Comfortable place to stay, even for a family of five plus a dog. Spotlessly clean. Easy short walk into centre of Ashbourne. Great starting point for exploring Peak District.

Great location Positive: The location was great, so close to the town centre, supermarkets etc. We parked the car and walked everywhere. The house is fairly well appointed, the sofas have been updated from the pictures to something more comfortable. The bedrooms were presented well and the bathroom was clean. It has a large, smart TV in the lounge. Negative: It's difficult to park, this is a busy road. The kitchen is tired and it needs new and better quality pots and pans. There was only 2 of us so it seemed expensive, but between the 6 it sleeps it would be good value.

Lovely stay in crooked cottage. Cute, clean and perfect location for Peak District and Alton Towers. Bakewell and Ashbourne town nearby and well worth exploring. The house was as described and cleaner than expected since reading previous reviews the hosts have clearly taken on the feedback.

Overall had a pleasant stay in a lovely area. The house was clean and well presented. But the front door lock was a bit stuck so difficult to access initially. Was only left half a toilet roll and no kitchen roll - for a 2 night stay shouldn’t be expected to buy this. Garden could do we a tidy up and the bbq is so rusty you wouldn’t want to use it !!

Overall, an enjoyable stay. Positives - well-equipped kitchen, comfortable arrangement, nicely decorated, good value for number of rooms/space Negatives - very loud road with street light on all night outside two front bedrooms (would recommend ear plugs + eye mask), cutlery and crockery slightly dirty, BBQ in garden non-functional. Worth what we paid :)

Positive: Fantastic stay — ideally located with easy access to everything you need. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, fully equipped, and excellent value for money. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

Host & stay say they uphold high standards , I did not find this too be true, rusty oven trays , bedding not ironed, ashtray full of butts, barbeque so rusty could not be used fit for the tip, table on sitting room worse for wear, some outside furniture broken and just left there, grass had been cut but looked but looked like just weed and stubble , parking difficult had to go on kerb, no kitchen roll or foil and back gate not secure , very disappointing holiday which we were excited about , I would never book with them again.

This is a lovely house but is in need of some TLC. Quite a few marks on the walls and floors. Coffee table is about to collapse! Good location in Ashbourne and host was very helpful.

Great weekend in Ashbourne. Perfect location for plenty of nearby hikes, plus a short walk into town for food and drink

It was reasonably priced and quite a nice house but there were a lot of ants in the kitchen and all over the counter top whenever there was food out. The bins were also left blocking the front door

We had a lovely stay. The house was lovely, clean and comfortable. The location is great, close to shops and a short drive to days out. The host company is also easily accessible and replies extremely quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Good location, overall disappointing as contacted agent re no tea, coffee etc as stated it would be but said policy had changed (within a couple of days!). Kitchen oven trays dirty and mould in the bathroom. Wood burner available but no starter wood provided and no fire glove provided. When messaging on Air b&b platform the responses were AI generated and when we called the host agent she was very unhelpful. The furniture was tired and shabby.

Pity about the mattresses and bedding … Positive: With the exception of the beds, mattresses and bedding, the rest of the house was clean, but it needs some general TLC. Negative: The mattresses on all beds are either exceptionally cheap or long past their useful life; quite possibly the worst we have ever slept on. No mattress or pillow protectors, mattresses stained as were most of the (extremely creased) duvet covers and pillowcases. Duvets and pillows awful. Paid for 3 nights in advance, tried to cancel two nights on the first night, but no refund (for the unused nights offered). Lots of areas need serious TLC as things are falling apart (the coffee table sways and the laminate is peeling off). Fridge in an unheated ‘conservatory’ off the kitchen via a door that doesn’t close properly. The property is on an EXTREMELY busy road. Could do with blackout curtains (and earplugs) and some nets or blinds on the front would be good as the houses opposite look directly in as do passers by. I can only add 4 photos unfortunately.

Lovely little cottage and very comfortable and warm. Great location and would stay again. Needs a little TLC - broken bin lid, wobbly front room table and a broken knife - very quick and easy repairs and small things really Overall we enjoyed it Note if booking - there’s not much there to get you started No wood for the log burner, infact there’s nothing for the burner. No sponges in kitchen, no salt or pepper or oil or tea bags etc You need to take everything

Fab stay

We loved our stay. It had everything we needed and was fairly quiet. It’s a short drive from Alton Towers and a short walk to the local shops. Hosts gave clear and accurate instructions for check in and check out.

Lovely Stay Nice accommodation near Alton Towers. Few little issues like no coffee and salt and could have been cleaner inside the kitchen cupboards and lounge light shades. But comfy beds and clean bathroom etc. Would come back. Nice stay. Communication with host was excellent.
