A great place to stay especially if you have a dog as there are good walks along the river. Local pub did good food. Blunt knives and a water flush problem plus the front door need slamming to close. Be aware of jet take-offs throughout the day. Not objectionable but it’s there. They start around 5.30am and last until around 10 but it’s not every five minutes. We would stay again.
There are lots of interesting towns and cities, museums and good walks within reach. The railway station is a pleasant 15 minute walk away. We were used the train a great deal - Saltburn, Durham, Middlesborough, Newcastle, Darlington and the Locomotion Museum. The house is in an attractive setting and was warm and spacious although not quite as comprehensively furnished or equipped as we anticipated. The courtyard at the back was secure for the dog. We appreciated the eco-friendly toiletries.
It was a lovely property and have sent messages about the issues we had sadly the neighbour was not very friendly we arrived on Saturday in horrific weather and trying to find out where to park correctly we parked near her property I appreciate it is private parking but at the time we were contacting the hosts to find the parking behind the property, we had this lady from number 27 being very unfriendly, not the hosts fault we then parked opposite the property and she proceeded to watch us in the pouring rain unload our van backwards and forwards, also having to carry our show dogs over the road as we were attending a show the next day, I just don’t understand why you can’t park outside to unload then park up.
Stayed at May Cottage for a week whilst visiting family nearby. Beautifully furnished with good quality furniture, beds and linen. Nice walks for our dog and great pub close by. We had a few minor issues but Host and Stay were quick to respond and rectify.
Lovely and relaxing. Positive: Well designed and laid out. Comfy furnishings and a well stocked kitchen with plenty of cooking essentials. Dogs allowed and not loads of restrictions making it feel more like home away from home. Negative: Nothing.

We had a lovely stay and hope to return in the future. The cottage was clean and comfortable and in a lovely location for riverside walks. The communication from the host was friendly and helpful. You do need to do a separate deposit form but it’s really no hassle and gives peace of mind during your stay. Many thanks for a lovely festive stay!
Enjoyable Stay in Middleton One Row Positive: Good location , close to Durham, Darlington ,Teesside Negative: Lack of home comforts, no throws in living room, to get cosy, no fire . Kitchen not very well stocked with adequate cooking utensils , crockery etc . For example only one cup per person , so if in dishwasher no other cups !! 3 out of our party cut their fingers on a rusty nail on the staircase it wasn’t till we all got together the following morning that we realised what we had all done in separate incidents ! Bedrooms and beds very comfortable with quality bedding , this was much appreciated
The property was perfect, we stayed as were racing at Croft Circuit, which was 15-20 min drive which was perfect. The property was exactly as described and perfectly suited our needs. Only downside was, we had issues with the WiFi, although the host said it was rectified it wasn’t and we spent 2 nights without it, the area has no phone signal which wasn’t ideal. Not blaming the host, was just one of those unfortunate things and they did try to sort it out. Would stay again if am back at Croft circuit, certainly well worth the price charged.
Very happy with stay Positive: Great location in a great community house had everything you needed and was very comfortable and homely. Negative: For such a long stay another set of bedding would have been great a couple of maintenance issues ie down stairs toilet was wobbly, a few down lights not working and a couple were flashing on and off when on, plant growing out of wall in lounge, and metal rubbish bin by back door was full of rubbish with maggots in it that I had too empty to remove the smell , fridge door not sealing properly at times other than that things all good

Family trip of three generations of adults. Cottage was very comfortable and homely, beautiful location with easy access to main road networks, Sainsbury’s local near by and lovely pub within a very short walk. Location and views were beautiful. Property was styled tastefully with quality kitchen ware. We had a very peaceful and relaxing stay and felt home from home. Dale was friendly and responsive with welcome and instructions. Thank you!
Place had hair & dust in the bath. No signal in the house only 1 place ! Had to rely on wifi. Had 2 power cuts and didn’t help out considering i had a 6 month old baby there . Very dated. Rude neighbour knock the door within 20 mins of me being there to rudely tell me im not allowed to park outside the property it’s residential only but i was staying in the houses !! Location was nice. No tv is bedrooms. Very mouldy shower screen and upstairs toilet barely flushed.

Comfortable and peaceful. Positive: Very pretty village and attractive, well appointed cottage. Negative: The washing machine leaked and it wasn’t possible to replace the lightbulb in the downstairs toilet. We were only provided with four forks, so when cooking we constantly had to wash the forks to set the table.

Positive: It was a beautiful house in a really lovely village. Close walking distance to a great country pub. The house was decorated very tastefully, without sparing on expense. It was a dog friendly place, but it was pristine and you couldn't sense that animals had been there. Would highly recommend to anyone. Negative: Nothing to dislike. It was great.

The house is attractive, comfortable, and in a good location, but unfortunately our stay was negatively affected by cleanliness issues and poor follow-up from the agents. The property had clearly not been cleaned to an acceptable standard. A bin containing old prawns had been left behind, creating an unpleasant smell on arrival. In one of the upstairs bedrooms, we found used plasters on the floor and medication that did not belong to us, which was particularly concerning. Following our stay, we realised we had left some belongings behind, including a Hugo Boss suit worth approximately £400. Despite contacting the agents straight away on the day of departure,the suit has not been returned, and we have found them unhelpful and unresponsive throughout the process. It's disappointing because the house itself is lovely, but better attention to cleanliness and guest support is needed to justify a positive recommendation.

Great cottage in a beautiful location
The property itself is spacious and bright, well decorated and feels welcoming and personable. We already know the area - the Devonport up the road is well thought of and always has customers. Their food is lovely - try the mushroom ravioli, I was still thinking about it on the drive home! The host company were a bit of a letdown in terms of communication. I asked to book an extra day via the airbnb app and received a prompt reply that this was possible, and was told I would receive a link to book. The link never appeared in my chat, and from that point all replies to my follow-up messages stopped completely. Phone signal is poor in this area. I managed to get through to a person on a call, confirmed booking, paid via email link that didn't arrive til 1am, then received messages saying we hadn't paid and were at risk of being kicked out. Called again, chased signal around the house, and was advised payment had been successful. Weird, disconnected communication on the host's part.

Beautiful cottage with lovely decor and plenty of room for a family of 5. Positive: We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage! We loved the decor and the size of the rooms. It was well equipped with almost everything we needed. The secure courtyard and patio were a highlight, and parking nearby was completely stress-free. The location is ideal—just a short stroll from The Devonport, which we highly recommend for food and drinks. . Negative: Small suggestions for the host: A tin opener for the kitchen would be a great addition. Also, the toilet tank occasionally struggled to fill, which made a bit of noise at night, so it might be worth a quick look. Overall, a fantastic stay and we look forward to our next visit

Nice Georgian-style house
Lovely stay, we are regular visitors to Middleton and this will become our first choice for somewhere to stay when we visit.
This accommodation was gold star for us on our stay, warm, cosy and convenient. We loved the lay out and the little touches to make you feel at home. We had a lovely sleep every night and bathroom facilities were above standard. No issues at all parking out the front of the property and we would love to come and again. We would highly recommended for any occasion - location was super. Communication was also spot on :) Thanks for our wonderful stay.
A very comfortable house. We found it just as the description and perfectly clean. It had everything we needed. It’s very close to a great nearby pub and well connected with local buses and trains.

The location was excellent for our planned activities and the house was a truly a home from home. Negative: Nothing. Everything we needed was more than catered for.
Lovely house. Only downside is that it is managed by a company and so added a layer of filling out forms on another website and offers to pay for insurance in case of damages etc on another website. We arrived a little early and asked if it was possible to check in at 3pm instead of 4pm and were told we could for a £50 fee, which we declined. Would have been nice to have been offered an early check in since the house was ready and they knew we were there for a funeral of someone who lived 3 doors down the street but rules are rules and money is money.

We had a fantastic few days in Middleton One Row! The house was better than described! Beautifully decorated, spacious and clean, we felt right at home. Situated in a lovely village and with great pub nearby. A must stay!!! We will definitely come again in the future. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay at May Cottage, beautifully decorated, cosy and welcoming we Immediately felt at home. A gorgeous peaceful location with a great hotel/restaurant just a few minutes walk fro the cottage where we had a lovely meal, followed by a walk around the local area.. We would most definitely recommend, it’s the perfect location for exploring the local area, Durham was delightful….

Middleton One Row is a lovely peaceful spot near the Tees and handy for Yarm anf much of North Yorks/ County Durham.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The place was beautiful and quiet, it felt lovely and homely and a great pub just down the road. A great location.
