Incredible cottage with everythibg you need Positive: Maggie’s is a beautiful cottage in a quiet village. It’s extremely well equipped with everything you need which was great as we cooked most of our meals here. The stove was lovely to have on in the cold nights, but the cottage was certainly never cold. The welcome basket was a lovely touch and so were the slippers as its hard flooring in the main room. Was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. Couldn’t ask for more.

Beautiful little home! - We went for the countryside but were also pleasantly surprised about the amazing food options right on our doorstep. We were also lucky enough to bump into our host, who was absolutely lovely and gave some great walk recommendations - Would definately come back if given half a chance! Thankyou!!

Have stayed in quite a few Air B&B’s and this ranks among the top five. Spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. We do tend to eat in when we go away so much appreciated the fact that it was very much like home. All kitchen equipment was easy to use. The shower was probably the best we have ever used and the bed was very comfortable, two things which are essential when you are staying away from home. Thank you to the hosts for providing a lovely welcome pack. Red wine is my ‘go to’ drink when I’m on holiday. Would highly recommend Maggies.

We had a wonderful stay at Maggie's. It was clean, cosy, and peaceful. We felt so at home and had such a relaxing time. The welcome hamper was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The village itself is very pretty and quiet while still being close to lots of the area's attractions. You can catch the Hadrian's Wall AD122 bus service from the village! Restaurant Hjem was a special treat too! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back!

Beautiful little place, ideal for couples or single getaway. Ideally located, plenty of peace and quiet with lots of walks locally but only a few minutes drive to supermarkets etc. Spotlessly clean throughout and amazingly equipped, very helpful and reponsive hosts. Can't fault the place

Susan and John are such a lovely and friendly couple. So welcoming and full of recommendations on where to go. Very thoughtful welcome basket and milk in fridge was left for us too for a brew on arrival.. Cottage was perfect cozy, homely, spotlessly clean. Amazing fire ( kept us stocked with logs), great shower ., comfy bed and couch. Had everything you could possibly need and more. We really appreciated all the work they put into making this air bnb cottage like home. A credit to them both. We will be recommending to family and friends and we'll definitely be back , huge thankyou for the memories X

Wonderful location and excellent quality facilities for a couple in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. Lots to walk to close by and great recommendations. A really restful break in truly sumptuous surroundings.

The owners of the cost cottage kindly prepared a welcome hamper which was so sweet! The info pack was filled with things to do and books to read (we already had walks planned but perfect for someone that isn't sure, too). So peaceful to sleep at night. The log burner was perfect and much needed after a long Hadrian's wall work. I loved the photographs of the local attractions on the walls. A lot of care has gone into this property and it worked seamlessly. A hidden gem and perfect for a couple's or a single person's retreat. Highly recommend to anyone. We did travel up at night, after eating in Alnwick and ended up asking for help as it was a little hard to spot in the dark (once we saw the fence, we knew we were there!). This was the closest thing to an issue we had - which really wasn't an issue because we got in (we just probably looks hilarious driving in circles). I have nothing negative to say! Thank you for everything, it was perfect.

We had a really lovely break at Maggies. The place was very clean, quiet and cosy, especially with the log burner going. We would definitely go again. Nicely located near Hexham for restaurants and things to do and close to Hadrian’s Wall for walks and history.

This is the perfect cottage escape to explore Northumberland - cosy and practical! A stones throw away from Hadrians wall, this was a lovely little escape. Great communication and the welcome basket was the perfect touch! 100% recommendation!

We stayed here over the Easter weekend. It is in a lovely area, only a short drive from Hexham. There was a slight confusion when trying to find the key, however everyone we contacted helped us out. I would highly recommend this Airbnb it has everything you would need and is beautiful.

This apartment is a great find!!! Positive: Maggie's is a brilliant apartment - well-appointed, large comfortable bed, real cosy, located in a quiet village near to Hexham and very close to Hadrian's Wall attractions. It exceeded our expectations in so many ways. We highly recommend this apartment! Negative: The owners live adjacent to the apartment. They are delightful people. They are very friendly and informative. BUT the property is managed by Host and Stay and "personal touch" is lacking. Before accessing the apartment we had to choose whether to take out damage insurance. We've never encountered this before (and were not advised of such at the time of booking unless it was included in the fine-print). When we chose not to insure we received more than one message from Host and Stay informing that we will be responsible for non-reported damage. Then despite all the previous messages/agreements, Host and Stay send a very long message on the day before departure reminding us (as if it was really needed) of deadline for departure (and what will happen if we overstay our "welcome"). We understand that these messages are probably auto-generated but they are long-winded, cold and impersonal. AND on the day before arrival we asked Host and Stay if we could access the apartment a little earlier than the usual 4pm scheduled time. That request was basically rejected via a short, sharp message stating that the standard time is 4pm. Upon arrival the owners informed us that the apartment was available from 12:30pm and we could have gained access immediately after.

Very relaxing, great location for walking and visiting all the historical sites. Positive: The cottage was like the village of Wall, calm and very peaceful, the cottage is really cosy and comfortable, the bed and shower are outstanding, we hope to return. Negative: Small complaint, the cutlrey and pan draws in need of cleaning out, otherwise the property is clean.

Positive: Well equipped to a high standard. Very welcome basket of treats. Fantastic shower. Clean and comfortable throughout, a relaxing stay. Quiet area. Negative: I think the owners have thought of everything, there was nothing to dislike.

Ideal place to stay for a relaxing weekend- fabulous cottage with a log fire and cosy furnishings.The owners have put a lot of thought into ensuring the cottage has all the amenities needed for a stress free stay - especially the oh so comfortable bed and great shower room. It was a good base for us to explore Hadrians Wall, Hexham and Corbridge Roman Town .

This was the perfect place to stay for a break near to Hadrian’s Wall. The property was impeccable and exactly as described, with some lovely welcoming touches and useful books about the area. Pub with quality bar food in easy walking distance. The village is quiet and charming, close to Chesters Fort and a short drive to Vindolanda. You can also catch trains to Newcastle or Carlisle from Hexham, Corbridge or Haltwhistle. I would thoroughly recommend Maggies to anyone wanting a great place to stay while exploring the area.

Maggie’s was a lovely, clean, well equipped venue for a few days break for 2 near Hexham and Hadrian’s wall. It’s in a quiet village with one restaurant but a few miles from Hexham with lots of shops and facilities. Comfortable large bed. Good shower and bathroom. Pleasant, tastefully decorated, kitchen/living room. Smart TV so one can watch favourite shows after a day’s walking. Wood burning stove worked very well on a chilly evening. Hosts live on site; friendly and unobtrusive. Nice welcome pack. Dedicated parking space. Perfect base for exploring the beautiful area and historic landscape. WiFi tends to drop out in bedroom and key safe inside solid front door in porch. Will be going again.

We really enjoyed staying at Maggies. It was a short break but with so much to see in the area we will be back.

Maggie's is a lovely, peaceful little cottage for 2, set in a quiet little village (car recommended), a pub (Hadrian's Hotel) with good food for spontaneous dinners after a day of hiking/ visiting the seaside/ the various cities not too far away - perfect! The bed is super comfy, the surroundings super quiet.

Maggie’s was very much home from home and provided everything we needed and more. Comfortable, quiet and well placed for our few days’ stay. We will be back!

This was the perfect peaceful place for us to stay whilst visiting family in the area. It's also very well located for visiting Hadrian's Wall and associated Roman remains. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

We had a great stay at Maggie's. It was very clean, warm and had everything we needed. Very comfortable bed and great shower ! The immediate area is very peaceful and the location is great for exploring the wider area with lots of attractions nearby and is also close to Hexham which has several supermarkets as well as interesting shops. Hadrian's hotel is only a 2 minute walk away and were very easily able to cater for a diet with gluten and dairy intolerances - high recommended (it also has a bar with a decent selection of beers on tap). Thank you for a great stay !

Dommage de n’avoir pas pu rester plus longtemps ! Positive: Dès que nous sommes entrés nous nous sentis comme chez nous dans ce joli cottage aménagé et décoré avec le plus grand soin. Un grand merci à Susan pour sa gentillesse, pour le petit panier garni et pour tout le soin qu’elle apporte à l’accueil des vacanciers. Tout était réuni pour réussir cette pause de deux nuits.

From the moment we arrived, we felt so at home. Everything was beautiful and so comfortable. There was a lovely welcome basket awaiting for us and the property had everything we needed to settle in. The bed was so comfy we struggled to get up in a morning. Susan and John were very friendly. Pub within walking distance was good and so much to see in local area especially if interested in the romans like my husband!

A LOVELY COSY PLACE IN BEAUTIFUL PART OF THE COUNTRY Positive: THIS IS AN IDEAL BASE FOR VISITING ALL OF THE NATIONAL TRUST PLACES AND TOURIST ATTRACTIONS NEARBY, THE ROADS TO GET HERE ARE VERY OPEN AND EASY TO DRIVE . THE PROPERTY IS IN A SMALL VILLAGE/HAMLET JUST NORTH OF HEXHAM, IN A VERY BEAUTIFUL SETTING , THE PICTURES DO NOT DO THE PROPERTY JUSTICE IT IS A VERY COSY PLACE WHICH CATCHES THE SUN AT THE END OF THE DAY , IT IS VERY CLEAN AND HAS EVERYTHING YOU WOULD WANT . AN IDEAL PLACE IN AN IDEAL LOCATION . Negative: NOTHING , ALMOST AS PERFECT AS YOU COULD WANT

We couldn't have found a better place for our few days in Northumberland. A totally quiet and peaceful spot and the cottage was just perfect. It had everything we needed, was tastefully arranged and perfectly clean. I just wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful, thank you.

Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location Positive: Maggies was the perfect stay for our 4 day visit to Hadrians Wall area. The location was excellent for us visiting areas along the Wall. The cottage was beautiful, warm, cosy and comfortable. Very well equipped for cooking. Comfortable bed, quality bed linens, great shower. The wood burning stove was a lovely addition, great supply of logs outside. A very short walk is the Hadrians Hotel, for food and and an evening drink, adjacent to the hotel is the bus stop for the AD122 bus, which stops at various places along the wall. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Maggies Cottage.

Maggie’s was a very comfortable cottage, from the second we walked in there was a welcome basket of goodies and a warm sitting room. Then sleeping in a very comfy bed and the shower was amazing , we even had a few real log fires 😀 The cottage was located to some lovely attractions nearby.

We had an amazing stay at Maggies. Everything was absolutely perfect! The kitchen had everything you could need, the living area was beautiful, cosy and comfy. Fabulous little cottage, very comfortable,lovely and cosy with the log burner on, brilliant shower. Extremely quiet location with a refurbished hotel/bar a short walk away. Market town of Hexham a 5minute drive away with quality shopping. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Wonderful Maggie's Positive: Loved the property. Loved the location. It was just a smashing visit. Negative: OK ....lets be slightly critical but helpful. We knew the keys were in a lock-box but we didn't twig that the lock-box was inside the unlocked lobby. Assuming that substantial door to the lobby was locked (which it wasn't) It was the last place we looked......

The cottage was exactly as described. Very clean with everything you would need for a comfortable day. Lovely welcome basket too, thank you. Very peaceful location.

A gem of a cottage - really well equipped and with everything we needed for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The cottage is in a beautiful setting opposite the village green with some lovely walks from the door to parts of Hadrians’s Wall and only a short drive from Hexham. Such a peaceful place to stay, but also in easy reach of Hexham. The property is charming & comfortable. Everything is in good order. The TV works (not a given!), and the shower is great. The bed is very comfortable. You will wake up in the morning to peace…perfect peace.

Magnificent cottage We thoroughly enjoyed this perfect little cottage in the picturesque village of Wall which is close to the historical town of Hexham. It is perfectly set up with all you can want and more. Well equipped kitchen, pretty bathroom, delightful sitting room. Parking is easy and great to be able to wash your clothes. Our host was warm , friendly and so helpful. So much to see and do locally and Hexham is lovely. We give it 10 out of 10

Everything that was provided was of the highest quality…from bedding to dining with an excellent guide to the cottage and so much good information. Great location for Roman history, walks and countryside. Really well maintained cottage with parking. We went out in the car each day for our trips so cannot speak to walkable local shops etc but did notice a hotel/restaurant in the village and plenty in Hexham. The bed was so comfortable! We found issues with the WiFi on occasions but we didn’t really need it luckily. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again.

Our stay was perfect! I’m quite fussy about where we stay and I cannot fault this cottage in any way, every tiny detail had been thought about which made our stay so much more enjoyable. The cottage was immaculately clean and felt so cosy and homely, the welcome basket was a lovely touch and we loved the fact that there was free wood to use for the log burner! We will definitely be back, it was one of our favourite weekends away we’ve ever had!

Fab little set up. Cosy and clean. Everything worked and the bed was comfortable. Log burner was massive plus
