Check-in was a farce - no instructions or directions on how to find the cottage provided. The only information provided was a virtual map where the icon for the cottage was in the incorrect location - this led to myself and my children being dropped at the wrong location with all our luggage in the pouring rain. It took nearly an hour to find the cottage and this debacle cast a shadow over the rest of our stay. The cottage itself is charming and as described. Staithes was a fantastic location for a weekend away. Unfortunately we had 3 cold showers and a cold bath owing to inadequate information provided by Host & Stay who did not mention the timer that overrides the heating system.

We stay in Staiths every year with my elderly parents and always try different cottages so it adds to the excitement of the trip. Wondering what the place will be like. Luna cottage did not disappoint, it was one of the best in Staithes and we loved it here, the beds bedding and pillows where of the quality you find in some swanky hotels and ment we all slept well. It has a cosy comfortable living room and an awesome kitchen with all you would ever need. Brilliant and this is one of them cottages we would book again. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. It's a lovely dog friendly cottage, really near the harbour. the bedrooms are on 2 floors with their own bathrooms, which my kids loved. The cottage is full of original features with low ceilings on the top floor so mind your head! We would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage in a small village. Perfect place to recharge my batteries, good walks for the dog nearby and couple of decent pubs with good food within walking disance. There were a couple of small maintenance issues. Skylight window above the couch leaked during a heavy rainstorm one night and the window in the bedroom was hard to open and close. The ceiling on the top floor is very low, for someone tall like me this is a big deal and it could have been clearer in the description. We didn't use that floor so it wasn't really an issue for us except when turning the hot water on and off. The stairs are also quite narrow and steep which could also have been made clearer in the description as it could be a problem for people with mobility problems. The village is small and everything is within walking distance. No on site parking, but a permit is provided at the top of the village for a car park. The hill in and out is very steep.

We really enjoyed our stay. Great walk along the Cleveland Way to Sandsend and Whitby. We had a lovely meal in the Cod and Lobster which 5 min walk away. Lina Cottage was comfortable and homely. Would recommend a stay.

Enjoyed a lovely family break away. Positive: Lovely cosy comfortable cottage. Nice comfy beds and excellent location. Negative: Top floor difficult for tall people to access! Not the cottages fault but many cars parked outside the row of cottages for longer than permitted meaning several trips up and down the big hill to pack up the car as no spaces available.

We had a magical three days in North Yorkshire. Luna Cottage was the perfect base. A spotlessly clean and cosy cottage with everything we needed, and Staithes is the most amazing village. Like living in a film set!

Terrible Positive: The location Negative: This was meant to be a surprise getaway for my wife’s 40th birthday and it very quickly turned to the break from hell!! Upon arriving at the property there were road works directly outside the property and these went on till midnight on the first night till early evening on the second. There was cobwebs and mold throughout the property, the toaster didn’t work neither did the extractor fan so if you tried to use the grill the smoke alarmed went off, there was a smelly damp mop bucket in the cleaning cuboard, the sky light in the living room leaked, the curtain poll in the bedroom was hanging off the wall and to top it off maggots fell out of the the ceiling light in the 2nd floor bathroom stopping it from being used and to top it off the company that host this property through booking.com appear to ignoring my complaint even through I have given them numerous opertunitys to put this right, we stayed here in August and the matter still hasn’t been resolved

Great location. Nice little cottage but not very well cleaned. One of the towels left for us was obviously dirty and smelled badly of dog. There were no marks on the towel so I can only assume the cleaners thought it hadn't been used and reused it to give to us. Surfaces in kitchen were all clean but the cooking equipment in kitchen was really dirty. We had to scrub everything before we used it. The top floor is really tricky to get to and as 3 fit adults without mobility issues we found it really awkward and very difficult to get up and down carrying bags. Please not that if you use the car parking pass you cannot park in the residents area in the car park, you need to park in the general car parking area. YOU WILL GET A PARKING TICKET.

A charming, cosy cottage right in the heart of Staithes - perfect for getaway with kids and the dog. Well equipped with everything you need, and brilliant walks right on the doorstep. The village is an absolute gem. We’d come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!

A really lovely little cottage right in the heart of Staithes. The host provides a digital guidebook which answered all of our questions and also gave us some great local recommendations. The design of the cottage has been well-thought-out and was perfect for myself and my friend’s getaway. Thank you :-)

Fabulous place to stay. Love Staithes and everything was on the doorstep. Well equipped home. Lovely hot shower but remember to turn the water on… we didn’t read the house manual so had cold showers on the first day… completely our fault!!

Wouldn’t recommend Positive: Location Negative: It wasn’t very clean. Living room floor very dirty, cobwebs on fire place. Lots of dog hair. Dog hair on outer kitchen cupboard door and clumps on floor Slug trails all around indoor entrance and all over a pair of shoes that were left overnight in living room.

Excellent stay Positive: Location was excellent really comfy cottage would highly recommend. Close to all Amenities and local hot spots. Free parking which was an added bonus.

Lovely cottage in great location, so close to the harbour/beach. Nice open plan space downstairs and plenty of space in bedrooms. Great rental if you want to be in coastal village location with local pubs and direct access to coastal path.

Amazing Positive: Amazing place, looked lovely, was very clean. The kids loved having their own little space outside their bedroom to sit in and read/watch something on the ipads. In a good location, only a few min walk to see some of the best views of staithes. We plan to return soon

We have visited Staithes on numerous occasions and this is the best cottage we’ve stayed in. Pristine , comfortable, warm, everything we could have asked for.

Great seaside cottage, we love Staithes and visit regularly...we would definitely stay here again on one of our future trips. Lots of space which is hard to find in Staithes and a well equipped and clean house!

Amazing stay! 10/10 Positive: We had a fantastic stay at Luna cottage, only wish we could have stayed longer! The location right in the heart of Staithes is amazing, a minute walk to the beach, two pubs, a deli, cafe, museum and gallery. The cottage is comfy, warm, bright, spacious and well equipped with everything you might need to make it a home away from home. Particularly enjoyed the bath and the huge bed. Thank you!

Positive: Lovely property with so much character! Negative: No heating and hot water throughout our whole stay Friday-Sunday. Property instructions detailed that the Alexa had to be turned on and not switched off for the heating to work. On arrival, Alexa was not plugged in or even set up, leaving us with no hot water in a very cold and wet November. The property lacked cleanliness, as there was lots of dust and scarmy marks on the benches

Had a lovely few days staying in the Luna Cottage, exactly what we needed. It was cozy and comfortable, and a great location.

Had a wonderful stay in Staithes which felt quiet and peaceful at the start of the week. The cottage had everything we needed and was the perfect base. It was neat, tidy and full of charm.
