really enjoyed the break, look forward to visiting again. Positive: good location we visited family in the area, really peaceful site, Negative: hot tub noisy quite a bit which was a bit irritating, (didnt use it)

Great place to have quiet relaxing little break with the family ! Decent bar/restaurant on site and also very close to a nice town. Will definitely be back !!

The lodge was misrepresented in the listing and was not clean on arrival. The shower had visible mould and the carpet grippers were exposed, creating a serious safety hazard, particularly for our toddlers. We were also asked to pay an additional £40 non-refundable deposit or £250 refundable deposit for accidental damage. This was not disclosed in the Airbnb listing, and we were given a link outside Airbnb to make the payment. Had we of not payed this then we couldn’t check in after a 4 hour drive. When this was raised with the host, there was no apology or attempt to resolve the issue. The Pizza Shack was closed despite being advertised, and we were also turned away from the restaurant with two hungry toddlers after checking online and being told takeaway was available. Overall, the accommodation and facilities were not as advertised, and the cleanliness and safety standards were unacceptable. - Lucas Lodge (Pet Friendly)

Lovely cabin in a beautiful location, only down side for us was that the hot tub wasn’t very clean and the water level was very low. The host did send someone round to clean it the next day however it still was not properly clean and we were only there for two nights so not ideal.

Lovely place

Ok I suppose. However very disappointed about the hot tub and not being able to use it. Positive: Was a good location close to home for a quick getaway. Negative: The shower temperature control was broken in both the main bathroom and en-suite. The main bathroom was stuck on boiling hot and the en-suite wasn’t much cooler. They were both unbearable to to use on the first not, thankfully they were fixed the next day. However a note was left on the main shower not to turn it too quickly( As it hadn’t been replaced just tightened up again) The hot tub was dirty on arrival 2 thick brown lines around the level of the water. I reported this and it was supposed to have been cleaned and serviced again but the water was disgusting 🤢and thick dirty black hair came out of the jets when we turned it on. We couldn’t use it and for the cost it wasn’t worth it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic weekend at Lucas Lodge in Allerthorpe with our 3-year-old. The lodge was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a lovely bonus and perfect for relaxing in the evenings. A beautiful, peaceful location for a family getaway. We made some wonderful memories and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!

It was very clean. The only downside was that the full address wasn't written down. But they were very helpful. I think it's worth going.

Perfect Positive: Very relaxing chilled out site

A disappointing initial experience. The Serneity lodge was in a completely unacceptable condition on arrival – there was reminisce of food and spills left on the table and around the legs of the table, chairs were dirty, floors hadn’t been cleaned, mirrors were smeared, and there was hair on the bedding. What made the whole situation even worse was that we were moved between lodges three separate times because each one was just as unclean and poorly maintained as the last. It completely disrupted our stay and was incredibly frustrating. Due to this we settled with a lodge and still had to clean it ourselves. The hot tub was therefore unready for the first night and first morning. We reported this immediately, and now two weeks later there’s still been no resolution. There hasn’t been any correspondence since the initial complaint, apart from a call. Overall, a very poor experience with unacceptable standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Positive: Great size lodge. Great hot tub. Lovely location. Comfy beds. Negative: Toilet brush gross, needs replacing. Needs more than one shelf in the oven TV wouldn't work the 2nd night.
