This home was a perfect location for us to have a weekend with family as we all travelled from different parts of the UK. The house is beautifully decorated and the beds are very comfy! We spent ages round the lovely dining table as well as a good outing to Beamish which is only a short drive away.
A big house! Tastefully decorated, cool light shades and lovely thick carpets upstairs. Very clean. We enjoyed the open, sociable space downstairs and also the extra conservatory living room for anyone who wanted some peace. \n\nBathroom on second floor was much bigger than expected. We appreciated having a toilet on every floor as there were 6 of us. \n\nGreat parking outside the house and a quiet area. Would definitely stay here again to visit family.

Beautifully appointed and spacious, log burner in living area was bonus touch! Could have done with a few more dishwasher tablets, some more cutlery for kitchen and the option of a high-chair/cot but I'm being picky! lots of onstreet free parking and only a quick 10-min drive to Durham. Beautiful clean home and loved staying here with family. Stayed for the weekend as in such close proximity to Diggerland where we took the kids. Would definitely stay again if ever back down. Thank you!
This was a big house in a quiet neighborhood, that worked well for a family reunion/holiday week. It would be lovely to be there during warmer weather since the yard looked spectacular, but it was too cold during our time, to be outside!

Excellent stay in spacious and family oriented space Positive: House had great space, kitchen, dining and living areas were more than generous and the main bathroom had an excellent bath. Negative: TV in bedroom and possibly hot tub but appreciate with it being next to other houses this may not be possible or is a reason it’s probably avoided

Had a lovely comfortable stay with family. The place was clean and welcoming and had everything we needed. Was perfect base for visiting Kynren, Durham and Raby Castle. We all slept really well, the neighbourhood was quiet and felt safe. Plenty of space inside and out for us all and for the kids to play.

My family of 6 just stayed here and this is the first time I have written a review where I have zero suggestions for improvement. The furnishings were ample and comfortable and the decor was tasteful and minimal. The weather was lovely while we visited so we were able to enjoy the lovely garden. There is a small convenience store at the foot of the street if needed and there are a few places to dine in the small village. It was easy to get into and out of Durham with our rental car. We even got to meet the lovely neighbors in the home behind us. Would definitely stay here again!
Location was convenient- close to convenient store. Issue was security. First only one key provided to use to lock from inside and outside. So if one guest wants to go out - they have to coordinate with another to open the door. Second outdoor area not secured - gate open and anyone can come in.
Had a relaxing stay here with friends for a birthday trip. Everybody slept well, the kitchen was well equipped with lots of cooking utensils, crockery, etc. for home cooking. Dish washer also available to use which made things easier to clean up. Close by to a lovely couple of pubs for pub lunch, and a very short drive into nearby countryside or Durham city centre for sight seeing.
A beautiful home, in an ideal location. I loved this house, so much, Id liked to have moved in permanently. A very practical family space, with all the family home essentials provided. As a family of 7, we spent May Bank hol in the house. We visited both Durham Centre and Beamish. The house is located pretty much in the middle of both. Super market at the end of the street, with a lovely green communal space over the rd. A perfect place!

We had a lovely stay at Witton Gilbert. The rooms were beautiful and the presentation of the property was exceptional. The styling was really well done. The property was very spacious. Parking was nice the neighbours were friendly. The only thing that could be improved was the overall cleanliness of the property. We found upon arrival when we were wiping the surfaces it was unclean which was disappointing and on the last night when we were mopping the floors it was dirty almost as if not mopped prior. The cutlery needed re washing at points. Overall we were happy with our stay and the property was truly stunning. I think a little more attention to detail with the cleaning to further enhance the experience would be my only recommendation.

A peaceful village setting just what we needed, travelled for a family funeral. House was immaculate and everything we needed. Household linen brilliant just same as hotel standard. Easy parking infront of property.

The host was fantastic - they gave great instructions before arrival and had a very helpful handbook with all the information needed about the house. The house was pristine on arrival. Decor was lovely and it had all of the amenities you would need, including tea, milk, and bath and shower gel, et cetera. The kitchen had everything you would need as well. The area is quiet and residential which enabled great nights sleep. We were visiting Durham which was only a short drive away so an excellent location for us. The house is very close to a small Morrisons, which was very convenient for getting the essentials. All in all, a great house which is clean and well looked after, in a good location with super hosts. Thank you

Great house , very well presented , comfy and quiet, if you want to cook take your own pans that’s the only fault of a great stay
Excellent property with plenty of space, well furnished, clean and tidy, with every need catered for. Especially good communication from host, well organised and felt right at home. Property situated approximately 2miles from Durham park and ride, which made visiting the city especially easy. Perfectly situated for general north east visit. Shop 1 minute walk made things easy and pub in the village was welcoming and served good pub food. Would stay again. 🙂
