Exceptional stay in the centre of Saltburn Positive: Excellent spacious property in a central location with plenty of free parking locally. Very nicely decorated and clean. Beds were very comfortable and bonus it was pet friendly. Negative: No issues.

Convenient & comfortable, spacious apartment. Positive: Three very spacious bedrooms , nicely decorated, lovely open planned kitchen lounge. Love the location ideal ., not far to local eateries, shops & walking distance to the beach , promenade etc Also it's pet friendly. Negative: It was very warm when we were there, one of the bedroom s window can not be opened, Also there is no freezer compartment so if one were to stay for a few days it would be annoying as we like ice in our drinks etc. It didn't bother us but it's on the top floor so will not be ideal for less mobile/ elderly person.

Great location and had a wonderful christmas with family here. Nice touch with the christmas tree.

Fantastic location with everything (bars, restaurants, delis, shops, beach) on the doorstep. We also discovered Salburn Valley Gardens only a short walk away which were beautiful. The apartment was fantastic - comfortable and spacious and we were always able to park right outside. Our daughter left her beloved bear behind but they were hunting for it straight away and already arranging to post it back! We will definitely return and hopefully stay here again - loved it, thank you so much!

What a lovely place to stay. Saltburn is such a treat. We loved the location of the property and we had a very comfortable stay in the flat. We enjoyed cooking meals with our family in the lovely kitchen and a walk to the beach just minutes away. The street below is beautiful with shops and restaurants on your doorstep.

Ok Positive: Great location . Spacious . Good value . Negative: Really needed a deep clean throughout - no t towels . The smell from the restaurant below permeated up the stairs to the flat and especially to the bedroom just near the flat door .

Great stay! Felt like good value for money, the accommodation was clean and in a great location for exploring Saltburn.

Lovely, clean apartment located in the centre of Saltburn on a busy street with bars and cafes. 5 min walk to the beach which is beautiful and very clean. Lots of nice places to eat out. Parking outside the accommodation or on nearby streets is impossible (summer) and we paid in a Sainsburys car park. Communication great. Expensive apartment but we did enjoy our stay. Thank you

We really enjoyed our stay in Saltburn. The flat is very centrally located and in easy walking distance to the seafront. On street parking was busy but we always managed to find spaces close by. The flat is spacious and easily accommodated 5 adults and a baby.We brought our own travel cot and highchair. The kitchen had a few essentials missing - there was no bread knife, potato peeler or scissors and there were no oven gloves. I think some heat proof mats for putting down hot dishes and pans would also be good. We are a family who enjoy cooking and so found cooking more of a challenge than it needed to be. The missing door shelf in the fridge was also a bit annoying. However despite the difficulties in the kitchen, we had a great time and would recommend this place to others.

what a lovely time we had in this very spacious 3 bed. All the rooms a good size and a nice open plan kitchen living space. enough room for my toddler to run about. and also in a prime location. I'm definitely using this place again next time I visit.

Fantastic location in a lovely seaside town. Plenty of room for x6 adults and x3 dogs. The beds were comfortable and there was everything you need for a couple of night stay

We loved this property and it’s location and amenities. We enjoyed our stay such a lot. It would have been really helpful to know that the apartment was up three flights of stairs before booking as we had a guest with us who found this tricky. A note in the listing would be good.

Comfortable beds and very close to amenities. Pub was noisy Negative: One of the beds hadn’t been made and I think the accommodation could go either way a deep clean. Sofa had skin debris and the floor was not clean. One of the glasses had residue in it.

Perfect location, home from home. Positive: Great location, everything on the doorstep. Spacious and lots of room for all of us. Everything you could possibly need, home from home. We loved it and would definitely book to come again. All 3 beds really comfy. Negative: Really strong smell in the corridor that did sometimes seep into the first floor bedroom. Couldn’t smell once upstairs but it wasn’t pleasant to walk through each time we entered and left the building. Would benefit from a deep clean in some areas. There were wrappers under the bed. Still a really nice home and stay for us though.

I love staying in Saltburn and the location was perfect. Hosts where helpful and communicate well. The only feedback to improve would be to leave a pen so that I could write in the visitor book. And a full length mirror would be useful ❤️ Thank you again. loved it

Great location. Close to Sainsbury's and train station walking distance to beach. Comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Entrance hallway was cluttered but not an issue once in flat.

When we turned up to check in nobody from housekeeping had even started cleaning. We went out for tea with our children to give more time for cleaning to take place. This took about an hour. When we came back it appeared they'd not done a thorough job and I had to go out and buy cleaning things myself for the bath before our children used it. The flat is in a great location and we love Saltburn, but this flat is tired, has dusty ledges and isn't one of those nice airbnbs where you feel like the owner cares about you enjoying your time. The company looking after the property replied to messages quickly but still sent through all the automatic messages about checking out on time to avoid a fine. This felt ridiculous given how late and unprepared the property was for us. Just another way to make money. I've never written a negative review before. I'd spend your money on a different place to stay in beautiful Saltburn. Can't fault the street the flat is on or the town itself.

We loved our stay - the accommodation was exactly as described. We had everything we needed for our stay and lots of kitchen appliances should be have needed them. The beds were super comfy too. The location was excellent next to local independent bars and cafes. We found street parking easy and a real bonus it was free. We hadn’t been to Saltburn-by-the-Sea before and found it to be a lovely charming seaside town with a great beach. Highly recommended the accommodation and would visit again.

Lovely stay - just needs a few small changes and it would be perfect! Positive: Excellent position right in the middle of all the bars, cafes and restaurants but only 5 - 10 minutes from the beach! Nice spacious apartments with pretty much everything you need and if you didn’t have it, contact with the host got an immediate response! Negative: I don’t think the cleaners are very thorough. Bathroom not very clean. Having a small bath on legs for a shower is not a good idea! Difficult for some people to get into. Ridiculously small bathroom sink (meant for small toilets) with a shelf over it, meaning that you can’t actually wash or clean teeth without water going all over the floor. Like so many of these places, insufficient places to hang towels. One small towel rail isn’t enough for two bath sheets and two hand towels. The hall and steps leading to the apartments smells like an old people’s home, I’m afraid.

Fabulous location enjoyed by the whole family. Positive: Fabulous location. The accommodation had everything you would want for a short stay. Street parking worked well and was free. Close to lots of food places and a supermarket. Negative: crockery wasnt in the best condition with chips..didnt effect use . Dont be put off by the hall way up to the accommodation was dark and didnt smell great but once in the apartments - they were fab. Wouldn't put us off staying again.

A spacious flat in a great location, not only for the beach but also for amenities - Sainsbury’s right across the road, lovely deli underneath and great cafe down the road. Unfortunately the issues highlighted in previous reviews are ongoing: - poor WiFi that buffers when watching TV and doesn’t stretch to the bottom bedroom - essentials missing such as fridge door shelf for milk, oven gloves, trivet, bread knife - no bin bags / bin lid broken - living room clock broken - no shower gel or any kind of welcome pack provided These are easy fixes that previous guests have highlighted but they have still not been rectified. For the price of this rental these basics need to be sorted. If they were, there would be very little keeping this from being a 5 star AirBnB.

Lovely place, let down by few small points Positive: Really well located apartment, lovely kitchen ! Negative: Horrible smell in communal area on arrival and cleaning tools, laying across the floor all weekend. Third bed really uncomfortable and not very clean i.e cupboards still had last guests smacks in. Easy t9 rectify and would then be fantastic!

Saltburn by the sea is lovely, the flat is in a great location. No issues with noise. Good space in the flat. Issues still present with poor wifi connection despite previous feedback in other reviews. Water pressure in shower also low. Overall cleanliness not great, floors, microwave, shower sealant, crumbs in drawers and cupboards. Had to purchase our own kitchen cloth and sponges as the one left was in a very poor state.

We loved our stay at Licence to chill, wished we could’ve stayed longer but we’ll definitely be back & will recommend to our family & friends.

Loved our weekend stay here, perfect for what we needed. As others have said the property is above a bar and it can be quite noisy agh the front of the building but nothing that bothered us. It’s a great spot, close to bars, shops, takeaways and the beach of course. Lovely and clean, so spacious. We will be back!

The apartment is really lovely. The beds were so comfortable and clean. The only things I could complain about was the WiFi connection not being great, and the water pressure being quite low, especially in the bath/shower. Otherwise, great location - within walking distance to the beach.

Positive: Very spacious, great location. Negative: A freezer would be a good item to install in place of the dish washer .

We were so happy when we arrived at the property to find such big spacious and well presented rooms. The location was perfect as a base for us to travel round the coast and Yorkshire moors. The only thing I would like to see different is the option choose a later check out. Our flight was delayed until 11pm so having to check out by 10am left us with a very long day of managing luggage etc. Other than that we loved our stay here and would definitely book again! Thank you to the hosts!

This is a lovely property in a great location.

A great location convenience wise to the beach Unfortunately the bars below are a bit noisy (Fri and Sat night stay) Upon arrival there was no key - but resolved quickly (very apologetic and friendly) Overall the apartment was ok - it was probably stunning when new, unfortunately the carpets are now all in need of a deep clean and things like the bath sealant and a full re-paint. Without doubt the worst part was the wifi - the TV was completely unwatchable - everything is streamed and buffered every 90 seconds. We gave up. A little investment of time and a bit of money would make this nice again.

Overall, very nice place and amazing location - will definitely go back. As mentioned in earlier reviews, some smell of damp in main bathroom, but just needed the fan on for a bit to sort it. Very good communication with host and would highly recommend the place to others.

Brilliant location & easy to access, we didn’t hear any street or neighbour noise. Great facilities inside. The down stairs area was quite cool compared to the living & upper bedrooms. It’s in good condition but would benefit from a kick of paint in the communal & hall areas. Overall, good value for money.

Great stay as advertised

Apartment was spacious and in a very good location. There was a noticeable smell of damp as soon as you came into the apartment which had tried to be masked unsuccessfully with defusers. There were quite a lot of cobwebs on the walls and there were a lot of places that needed a lick of paint or filler in the walls. There was I’m assuming the cleaner waiting outside from about 9.40am with checkout at 10am which was a bit off putting especially because host and stay repeatedly emailed to say we MUST be checked out by 10am or incurred extra charges. Over all we had a nice stay but could have been better

Great place in the centre of town close to the shops and the sea. Only downside was the WiFi was a little unreliable and a bit slow.

Good location for a few nights but needs a bit of attention. Positive: Great location and comfy beds. Negative: The hallway leading up to apartment is smelly and messy. Bad drainage smell coming from bathroom and shower not very powerful. A few things need attention ie carpet on stairs not fitted well and lots of marks on walls so looked a bit run down. Not filthy but could be cleaner. Oven quite dirty but didn’t use it so wasn’t too bothered. Overall not a bad apartment but just needs tidying up a bit.

We had a great stay at License to Chill, the apartment is in a great location to enjoy Saltburn and the nearly shops, cafes, restaurants were perfect. Short walk to the beach. Lovely layout of spacious apartment. Only negatives were that there are a few things that need mending/ improving in the apartment eg loose toilet roll fitting, windows that won’t open and stay open (not ideal in summer) cupboard door in bathroom wasn’t attached, main clock didn’t work. It was generally really clean and beds were very comfy. Slight smell of damp on entry and in one bathroom. Kitchen was really well stocked with utensils, pans and basics which was useful. Check in and communication was great.

This is the second time we stayed at this apartment, and it was just as good. The kitchen is really well equipped and the location really great for both the shops and the pier/beach.

Negative: Wasn’t the cleanest, crumbs on the worktop and in the cupboard when we arrived, and we also hoovered the floor and dusted the skirting board. There was no freezer & we had to remover the fridge shelves because there was no where to stand a bottle of milk or wine, no where to have ice cubes or frozen pizzas etc

We loved this apartment and the location was perfect Positive: We loved the flat and its location. It was warm, clean, functional. comfortable, light and one room even had a view of the sea. Negative: We did not realise that we had to specify before we arrived that we wanted the 3rd room as a twin room - but when we asked for it, it was sorted. There is a dishwasher but not that many plates, cups etc, so be prepared to wash some dishes by hand.

Great apartment! Great location! Amazing views! Loads of wonderful places to eat and places to see. If you are travelling to saltburn or the surrounding area this is a great location and place to stay.

Fantastic venue, location and hosts. Everything was as described and really enjoyed our stay. Hosts were very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Great location for a weekend away

Lovely apartment above a coffee shop Positive: the interior of the apartment was extremely well laid out. 3 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a shower over a bath. plenty of space . corner sofa was very comfortable. Negative: double bed in the bedroom as you come in the front door. bed needs to be looked at as if you turn over or move it is very noisy. I don’t know who owns the hallway as you enter, but it smells musty and needs tidying up. doesn’t set a good tone and makes you a bit apprehensive before you enter the apartment.

Positive: Decor Negative: The TV system was a smart TV but the internet service was not good enough to operate the TV system evertime you tried to watch the TV it just kept streaming ever minute or so in which made it impossible to watch any TV program.

Saltburn is such a lovely place to visit and the apartment was a great base, near to shops, restaurants and the beach!

We had a great stay, we had everything we needed, the apartment was really well equipped clean and modern! Excellent location, 5 minute walking distance to the beach. We managed to park right outside too! Lots of places to eat and drink right outside couldn't ask for more! We look forward to staying again. Many thanks

Fabulous! Great location, lovely decor, all in great condition, very clean, great communication - wish we had stayed longer! There was tea & coffee, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets etc all in there which was handy. Great local info on restaurants which we used too!

Great place. Location wise is ideal - and plenty of space inside with our young family and dogs. Host was really welcoming and friendly. The only downside is we didn’t stay in Saltburn longer. We will be back.
