First off this place is huge. Our bedroom was bigger than my sons first flat and it swallowed 9 of our bookclub with barely a gulp. Very clean, good beds and showers, loads of parking. We spent most of our time eating drinking and nattering round the giant table but appreciated the extra lounges to be antisocial in. The view is amazing and we made full use of the little jetty with several kayak outings. We took a star off because leaving just 1 dishwasher tablet and 1 tea towel (!) is frankly a bit mean and more relevant house information needed eg how to get the heating going, wi fi info, what to do about rubbish /recycling, better map. (The email info links were interesting but not really helpful!) That said we had a wonderful time at Lavengro and happily recommend.
Really lovely spot on the river, suited us perfectly. The house was lovely, light and airy. Really clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful spot overlooking the river. We had no children with us, so just something to be noted as it goes straight out onto water. Hosts responded immediately with everything we asked.
Beautiful location, looked freshly decorated. All bedrooms and en-suites were beautifully clean . The grounds were pretty rustic and we didn't find it easily from the postcode as it was down a tiny lane. Overall, we loved it and lots to do in the area.
‘Lavengro’ is a wonderful house in a great setting and location. We were surprised by the lack of kitchen supplies provided and guests should know they need to take the basics - dish washer tablets, bin liners, kitchen soap and towel, high chair etc. We would have liked a folder of information about the house systems, local connections, emergency numbers and specific information about leaving the property at the end of our stay.
However we enjoyed our stayed very much and would recommend ‘Lavengro’ as a place to stay.
‘What 3 Words’ would give a more accurate indication for arrival.
Lovely mini break with the family, very spacious house with great outside space, we will definitely return.
The house is beautiful and perfect for a large family gathering. With adequate bathrooms, living space and nice kitchen. The access to the water was lovely for SUP and kayaking. The grounds are quite natural and overgrown with nettle so you have to keep a very close eye on little ones but it did not detract from our stay too much. I would definitely go back.
Here’s a warm, natural review you can post:
We had a wonderful stay in Suffolk and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Our group ranged in age from 15 to 95 years old, and everyone had a great time and really enjoyed the property.
The location was beautiful and peaceful, with lovely views from all the bedrooms. We could see rabbits, deer and a variety of birds right from the windows, which made the stay even more special. It was lovely to wake up each morning and enjoy the views and wildlife.
The hot water was always good, and the property had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We really enjoyed the place and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended for families and groups of all ages!
We booked Lavengroe at short notice after our previous Airbnb booking had to cancel. We were a group of 10, with ages ranging from 10 to 81. Plus one dog.
The house is beautiful - plenty of space for all of us. The rooms are newly decorated - light, bright and free from clutter. The kitchen has the wow factor with a range cooker. But what really stands out is the location. The garden tips down slope directly to Oulton Broad. Such a peaceful and pretty view to wake up to.
The outside area around the house could perhaps do with a little TLC. A point to note is that there are 2 small but quite steep slopes in the garden. They would benefit from some steps for safety purposes. Also worth noting that if you take young children, the garden opens straight down to the water.
The communication from our host was excellent - quick and responsive. We appreciated the information about the history of the house. Overall a beautiful house in an amazing location. Would definitely recommend.
