We enjoyed our New Years break at Lane Farm cottage. It had everything we needed and loved the log burner

We very much enjoyed our stay at Lane Farm. This was part of a longer trip travelling around the country. My partner enjoyed trips to the coast for fossil-hunting, while I went for a run nearby and worked in the cottage. Cottage was as advertised - lovely hot shower, comfy bed and kitchen was well equipped.

Floor was filthy! Literally had to wash our feet after being there for a few hours. Very basic essentials…stayed for 4 nights and there was only one toilet roll, one small bin bag left and just 3 small towels - despite booking for 3 + a baby. Kitchen has been nicely modernised but there was lots of old and dirty looking crocheted blankets and doilies everywhere made it feel dated. It was cheap but wouldn’t stay here again.

Really nice location but if wanting pub/restaurants then most people will need to use car. Fantastic place to stay and reaaly good location for NY moors and coast towns. Will definitely return here as wanting to do more walks in the NY moors.

Lovely cosy accommodation! Just what we needed for a girly weekend in a beautiful area! Garden views were very pretty especially at sunset! 😍

Great little cottage which was exactly like the photos and description. Good location for exploring the nearby coast and a variety of walks. Hosts’ communication was helpful and always quick.

We had a lovely few days and this was a perfect base to explore the area. The beach at Sandsend was a highlight, as well a a walk along the cinder track from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay. Nearby, Dalby forest is also definitely worth a visit.

A lovely cosy cottage, quiet & tranquil. We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful decor, nice log fire in the evenings as it was a bit chilly. Would stay again.

Disappointing holiday Positive: Nothing in fact we packed up & left after 2night out of 5 Negative: Property not as described. Inside was dark & gloomy. Not allowed to open patio doors. Lots of do' s & dont's In owners manual. Not in village as stated but on a 60mph lane out of village. Bed felt damp. Bathroom facilities poor. Exterior of Property very tatty & overgrown & looked derelict from the road. No proper outside seating area & barbecue shoved in a corner covered in dirt & bird droppings

perfect for a weekend exploring the north yorkshire coast. Easington is walkable but it is along the 60mph road so be careful!

Nice little cottage and less than 30 mins drive to lots of beaches on the coast and to the national park. Good value for money and had everything we needed for a few days stay. It was clean and the beds were comfortable, and the information and recommendations left were helpful. It is just off a main road so we unfortunately found it noisy (day and night) and it was tricky to turn around in the courtyard which was quite overgrown to get onto the main road (as recommended by the hosts I wouldn’t attempt reversing onto it!)

well located for our trip as we wanted to visit Saltburn, Staithes and Whitby. directions made it easy to find and key safe made access very easy. space was great for what we wanted, comfortable bed

We had an excellent two nights at Lane Farm Cottage. The layout is ideal for a family stay including ample room for a travel cot in the master bedroom and the property had everything we needed to have a comfortable and relaxing stay. The owner has gone to such effort to put together the welcome book with a variety of suggestions for days out, good beaches and local pubs. It was very much appreciated. The location is ideal to explore the coastline with Whitby, Staithes, Sandsend and Saltburn all a short drive away. We would highly recommend and look to return on our next visit to Yorkshire.

A nice house with everything we needed for a short stay. Despite poor weather the accommodation was comfortable and cosy. A little inland but not far to go to the coast and you can even see the sea from the house, at least when the clouds cleared!

Overall a pleasant stay in a great location. Positive: The cottage was cosy, well equipped & comfortable. All utensils, kitchen & dining equipment were clean. Double bed was comfortable. Great location. Negative: First impressions driving into the property was that the garden looked untidy & the adjoining building looked shabby. No shower mat provided so slippy underfoot. Heated towel rail didn’t work. Floors were dirty throughout. Wood burner was cosy but no small kindling provided to start the fire. Didn’t meet the hosts during our 3 night stay who we were told lived next door. A welcome pack would have added a nice touch.

The accommodation and location were great. The actual hosting element less so. Our only 2 minor requests were both rejected with meaningless platitudes when raised with the host/company. This was a shame as it has left a sour note and reflects poorly on the company hosting this property. I would otherwise stay at this property but would avoid having to deal with a 3rd party management company wherever possible.

Superb property with great attention to detail for guest stays. Positive: Great location , very clean and comfortable. A very pretty cottage - well equipped and reasonably priced. We thoroughly loved our stay and felt very fortunate to have experienced this new to the market holiday cottage. Big thumbs up and many thanks to the owners. 👍😍😃 Negative: Not such a big issue given we're only just going into Autumn, but the cottage was slightly cold in the evening. The hosts provided plenty of blankets. Also there is a lovely wood burning stove - which we did use once, but there wasn't enough kindling or matches supplied to have more than the one fire. We have a woodburner and know how to get a fire going and didn't need any instructions - for people new to using a woodburner they will need instructions provided on how to build a fire and use the stove. The storage heaters are obviously set for summer - they will need turning up now too. In addition to this more supplies for the stove would be appreciated, so guests can experience the cosiness of the cottage with the stove on through the colder evenings.

Had a great stay at Lane Farm. Very peaceful location yet only a few minutes drive from all local places of interest. Cottage was well equipped, we had everything we needed and more. Will visit again

Good for a few nights' stay, quiet location (nothing really within walking distance and some road noise early in the morning). The cottage was well equipped, the one thing we could have done with if staying longer was cooking oil (salt & pepper and coffee sachets/teabags/sugar and milk sachets were appreciated). Just a few things to be aware of - the outdoor space isn't as large as the pictures look one you've parked, and the rooms are are quite dark despite the summer sun; the duvet was also very warm for summer! Overall though, accurate to the listing and a pleasant stay.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at this cosy rural retreat. The accommodation was spotless and tastefully decorated, in a great location for trips out to Runswick Bay (10 mins drive away) and Sandsend Beach. The hosts were friendly and proactive at getting back to messages. We will definitely be re-booking for our next coastal getaway! Thank you ☺️
