Exceeded my expectation, the property and location were fantastic !!! Positive: The property was gorgeous and roomy, packed with everything you’d need and far better than squeezing into a hotel. Easy to find, keys were a breeze to locate, and there was even a car park right across the road that didn’t require selling a kidney like Brighton’s parking does. The location was spot on and then some – beach, shops, amusements, and yes, actual donkeys for the kids. Took me straight back to my Blackpool childhood holidays with the grandparents, just with fewer sticks of rock and slightly more dignity ha ha. Negative: errrrr ............ Not a lot that would affect my score, could just do with a little clean found a family of bunnies under the beds ha ha

was very nice and clean apartment , the water was too hot in the shower for children and there wasn’t any good wi-fi (our data didn’t even work either)

The apartment itself was lovely and in a perfect locaton however we had issues with the shower (faulty thermostatic valve) which was stuck on 1 tempature and that was scolding hot and the maintenance guy who came evening time the following day was unable to fix the issue, so had to go without a shower for the 3 days we was staying. We also reported that in the 2nd bedroom there was no blinds or curtains fitted (blind fittings was present but no blinds i.e the blinds was removed for whatever reason and no replaced) so when the sunrise came up at 5am it woke the children straight away. This issue was raised twice but host and stay didnt resolve the issue just apologised and that was all. Overal would have been a great stay apart from the issues raised and wasnt sorted. I would have thought that these issues would have been picked up on or noticed when cleaning and preparing the apartment for our stay but clearly not.

Positive: Location was excellent Negative: No cutlery so we no option but to eat out and access wasn't the greatest plus we had a parking issue with tokens and just wasn't generally easy with having two young kids

Very spacious Positive: Just had a weekend away at this very spacious apartment on the seafront with the family. We will definitely be booking here again when we get home. Negative: Nothing

Luxury apartment spoilt by poor maintenance. Positive: Beautiful luxurious apartment, well organised information and key access prior to visit with excellent digital guide book provided prior to arrival. Unfortunately the stay was spoilt by poor maintenance of the property. Negative: Shower was jammed on scalding hot so none of us could wash during our stay. Kitchen tap wobbly. Fire door to unvented boiler unable to shut or secure due to not being fitted properly. Not a problem with my older children but would be a safety concern with younger children. Toilet roll holder loose on wall. Dust on skirting boards throughout. Shower area not cleaned properly. No washing up liquid for pots.

Superb location for a traditional British seaside holiday with kids. The apartment is fitted out to a high standard, clean and well furnished. The roof terrace is great - albeit shared. Superb shower. Reality check - Six flights of stairs may prove too much for some. Nearby parking is very limited unless arriving early or late. Cutlery is in a drawer within a drawer and easily missed. Strangely for an apartment for four, there are only three dining chairs and a very small table. Avoid if seagulls annoy you - it is their domain and they are noisy. We enjoyed them. Summary Highly recommended

Beautiful accommodation, the apartment was well kept and very spacious. We stayed with 2 children and a baby. We took our own travel cot and had plenty of room. The views from our living room and bedroom were lovely looking onto the harbour and the view from the top floor was amazing. We felt very comfortable and at home for the 4 nights that we stayed. I would highly recommend staying here for a family fun filled seaside stay :) Will be coming back again next year and staying here if the dates are free.

Positive: Good location Negative: Check in far too late with 2 small children as nowhere to leave bags , had to park car a mile away due to busy weekend and no availability for parking close by , check out far too early , basically paying a days stay when you can’t access the property

Luxury family stay right by the sea Positive: Beautiful apartment in a set of 3. We were apt 3, the top floor. All rooms have a sea view and in my opinion the location is excellent, right by the front and just a short walk to the town centre. Everything you'd need was there, decor was gorgeous, really luxury finish. There was also a fabulous roof terrace. We travelled with our 2 small children ages 5 and 2. The apartments have steps down to the kitchen and down into bedroom 2. For our children they were fine, and there's something to hold onto. You should bear this in mind though if travelling with kids. Negative: N/A

We really enjoyed this apartment. The location is perfect and everything is furnished (tea, coffee, etc.) maybe just some games for children could be added. And we confirmed, the shower is really top !

All in all, wonderful apartment. Will be using again on our next trip to scarborough. Positive: Great location, spotlessly clean, awesome little roof terrace, perfect for a family break. Negative: Not the property’s fault, but neighbouring buildings covered with nesting seagulls which wake at the crack of dawn. Take earplugs 😂

Great location and lovely spacious apartment let down by poor communication and no parking vouchers and three chairs!! Positive: The location is fabulous, great roof top terrace. Negative: Only three chairs at the dining room table, this made it difficult sitting and eating as a group of four? Four beds yet only three chairs and a very small table. Also no parking vouchers left and communication with hosts poor when flagged this up!

lovely apartment great location Positive: Beautiful property, very modern and contained everything we needed for a weekend stay. We were on the top floor apartment and the view was amazing. The beds were really comfortable too. A good sized apartment for a group of four (me, mum, aunt & friend), we have a trip to Scarborough every year and this is one of the nicest places we have stayed. Negative: As we were on the top floor there were a lot of stairs & no lift. However, we had been made aware of this before booking so we knew to expect this. It wouldn’t put me off staying again but it was the only downside to an otherwise perfect place

The location is great - literally right by the seafront. Unfortunately its proximity to the seafront meant it was incredibly loud pretty much constantly with traffic and people shouting on the street outside. Worst of all there are seagulls nesting on the windowsills opposite and they screeched constantly. It was impossible to sleep with the windows open (noise levels better with windows closed but not perfect) and as we stayed in summer it was boiling hot with windows shut. No fans were provided - would strongly recommend hosts consider this. Essentially, bring ear plugs! It was excellently maintained and very clean and generally well stocked however I’d say that it would be better more than one towel per person (ie a hair towel in addition to a bath towel), washing up liquid and more than one loo roll could be provided. The host did drop these off when asked! Note it’s up three flights of stairs (no lift) with stairs inside too, so not great for those with reduced mobility.

Positive: Great location, very modern and lovely roof garden area. Despite other reviews mentioning excessive seagull noise we actually found it pretty quiet! Great to have a separate room for teenage kids! Negative: Only slight issue was only 1 remote in lounge for TV yet there was another TV in bedroom. Also the TV in the lounge took an age to respond within the menu system.

Worth the money and and very central which we like Positive: Location perfect Negative: Nothing, everything was perfect.

What can I say…? It’s all been said by previous guests. Immaculate property, tastefully furnished, looked exactly like the pics and as described. Fantastic base for exploring the many beautiful nearby landmarks, Flamborough, Robin Hood’s Bay, The Cleveland Way and Whitby, etc. Unfortunately, one downside, again, as mentioned in previous reviews…, the nesting seagulls! During our midweek stay, 4th to 6th July, there were around 30 gulls (and their new born chicks) , perched on ledges feet from the apartments’ living room windows. They were incredibly vocal from 4 am until late evening. Sleep was pretty much impossible. It goes without saying, my partner and I expected seagulls and their normal chorus but this was another level. Sorry to put a damper on things but it needed to be said. Steve

Perfect! Positive: Location was perfect. Staying in comfort. Space Homely Negative: First air kit had no plasters. First aid items have dates and your items are out of it just an FYI A BIT of dust on window tops BUT other than these tiny 'didn't likes' it was a fantastic place to stay and we would love to come back.

Positive: The property was very clean and comfortable and in excellent location in the heart of it all. We loved that the beach was literally around the corner and the views of the castle were a bonus. Negative: The kitchen could have been a little better equipped, there were no scissors and no frying pan and only 1 baking tray. The sink tap was wobbly so in need of repair. There was no cloth to wipe the sides down with and only 2 loo rolls were left in the bathroom for a weeks stay so we had to go and buy some more. Larger towels would also make it feel a bit more 5 star. An extra lamp would be a benefit in the living area as the only options currently are flood lit or too dark with the one lamp it currently has. Also, the battery has gone in the clock on the hallway, it was forever 5.45 🤣

Great place great location everything we anted was on the doorstep

Fantastic apartment with great views of the harbour. Positive: Very clean. Well furnished. Good quality. Bed was very comfortable. Shower fantastic. Rooftop garden was an amazing addition. Negative: There was a lot of steps to reach to apartment. Was difficult when unloading the car.

Positive: Great view of harbour and Old Town from the shared roof top garden. The interior was well decorated and comfortable. Very close to the heart of the action and pubs on the harbour. Negative: Not clean to a good enough standard-- paper left under bed-side table, and windows and mirrors had smudges and streaks, as if not cleaned, or cleaned with the wrong type of cleaner. It was off-putting. Nespresso-type coffee maker only (no cafetiere), and no pods was not hospitable. Too many messages from the host cautioning about damage to the property made us feel pressured to take out insurance in the first place, and not trusted, even harassed.

Great location with easy access, we parked close by to off load (42 stairs to top floor but you got used to it) and there are plenty of car parks. Shower faulty but was rectified next day. Apartment is in the middle of Scarborough so lots to do and good views of the harbour. Some responses appeared ‘AI’ but that’s quite common if not a little impersonal.

Overall we really enjoyed it just a shame there was all the steps up to the apartment Positive: View was amazing and the area upstairs were lovely Negative: Was difficult to get the key's out of the locked box

The beds are extremely comfortable, the views were amazing. Loved every second of our stay and would most definitely stay here again. Negative: Nothing

Gorgeous apartment Positive: Everything we needed, clean and spacious and in the perfect location - we'd definitely stay again. Negative: I couldn't figure out how to make the shower cooler, but I was still able to use it.

This was a really lovely apartment in an excellent location just 1 minute walk from the beach. The apartment was very modern, clean and tidy on arrival. We were sent a really helpful guide on arrival. The layout is great and the shower is fantastic. I highly recommend this apartment.

Beautiful apartment, very homely but modern, in an excellent location. Host was very helpful and instructions were clear so apartment was easy to locate and access. Only negatives I have are the wi-fi was poor, so the tv’s and our devices would not connect properly. There was also no blind in one of the bedrooms, so it was bright early in the morning, which disturbed our sleep. Other than that we had a fantastic time, well worth the money and we would definitely stay again.

Laguz top apartment Positive: The apartment is very modern and spacious. Everything was clean and tidy and comfortable. Negative: The temperature of the shower was way too hot .The control knob seemed to be jammed. Wifi is very poor in this apartment (Laguz)with no signal most of the time. The lounge TV uses the wifi and takes forever to select a channel due to the poor signal. The hob in the kitchen was temperamental cutting off all the time unless it was on high. No microwave which would of been handy. 2nd bedroom at the back has no blind or curtains making it too bright at 5 am as the room is east facing .

This is the 4th time saying in the merchants quarters and it was fabulous as ever Positive: The location is amazing,it’s clean and tidy with everything you need inside. Negative: There was nothing j didn’t like about the property. Apart from a missing blind in one of the bedrooms

An exceptional stay from beginning to end. The property is ideally located, less than a minute’s walk from both the beach and a range of local shops and amenities. Parking is conveniently situated just across the street, and access via the keysafe was seamless and straightforward. The interior is tastefully designed, striking the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered — from the beautiful furnishings to the overall layout. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower was both luxurious and beautifully appointed. This was truly a standout accommodation. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a well-located, stylish, and restful retreat.

Fab place to stay, great location

Great place Positive: Our second stay at this apartment and just as good as the first time. Great views, very modern and comfortable with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Only issues are the stairs, as this is the 3rd floor up there’s are a lot of stairs so no good for anyone with mobility issues.

Another great stay here. Beautiful well equipped apartment, right next to sea front and harbour.

The accommodation was beautifully decorated and very close to the marina in Scarborough, but it was very noisey and therefore we had very disturbed sleep because of the amount of seagulls nesting at close proximity. Lovely apartment. Clear communication but was frustrated with having to pay an additional damage waiver prior to arrival.

Negative: The seagulls roosting outside. We understand it is a seaside town but there were at least 15-20 nesting seagulls outside the property which made it rather noisy first thing in the morning.

Lovely place, right on the sea front so easy access to restaurants and activities. The flat was lovely and clean and exactly like the pictures.

Merchants Quarters- a must . Positive: We've stayed here before but on a lower floor so we knew what to expect. It's a lovely apartment in a great location 😃 Negative: The stairs !!!lol. Last year we'd stayed on the first floor so it wasn't too bad but the stairs are tiring when you are carrying in bags. But it wouldn't put us off staying again but on the first floor and the roof Terrace is worth the stair climb.

Will definitely be back!

Great location & views but beware if stairs are a problem Positive: Location, views, decor, ease of check in, value for money, roof terrace Negative: I didn’t know until closer to my stay that we were on the 3rd floor & the stairs are quite steep to carry up a suitcase. The shower head needed cleaning. Only 1 red/white wine glass & there was 4 of us.

Clean, comfortable and restful stay Positive: The flat was spacious, and comfortable, with all the mod cons. (Though minus a microwave, which I found quite odd) The flat is in the most amazing location. Two seconds and you are on the beach, and a small walk up the hill to the main shopping area and city centre. It was quiet (apart from the seagulls, but hey, it is next to the sea haha) and kept the warmth of the day throughout the night. Shower was incredible and the beds were super comfortable. The outside roof top terrace was great, and a very comfortable sunbathing point. Negative: As I mentioned there was not a microwave, which I found odd. There also wasn't a washing machine, which for us wasn't a problem, but if you had a young family then you might struggle if you needed to a wash.

The location is AMAZING!!! We have enjoy our time! It’s literally 30sec from the beach. The view of the terrace is breathtaking. You can walk for almost everywhere. The kitchen are nice glasses like for champagne really have enjoy that. But the rest if you wanna cook bring stuff from home. We have find the place lovely wanna come back for the view

Great location. Would recommend. No free onsite parking is abit of a downside but the car park across the road is close. Just have to make sure to be there early or not the weekend as can sometime struggle to get a space

A really good place to stay and we’d book again. Positive: In an excellent location - you couldn’t get more central in Scarborough. Easy to park nearby. The property was clean, stylish, well-maintained and comfortable. There was plenty of room and everything worked well. Checking in and out was easy. We enjoyed the sea views, especially from the rooftop terrace. Negative: Being central meant it was noisy in the morning (very early) with bin lorries, street cleaning etc. The dining table was too small for 4 (ok for three) and the living room needs softer lighting (lamps). Needs more coat hangers too.

This apartment is a little more expensive than the competition on Airbnb but the location is great and the place is very modern and spotless. I would highly recommend it.

Enjoyed our stay. The apartment is a high standard. The only issue was the level of seagull noise at 5am but had read this in a previous review so was expecting it. Car park opposite was handy but very tight for large cars. Pay on ring go app means any unused minutes from 6pm carry over into the morning after 9am when it’s back onto a chargeable time.

The flat is perfect for a short break away with a bit of a lux feeling. The beds were comfortable and the flat was inviting. We will definitely be adding this one to our list of accommodation to enjoy again.

LOVELY PLACE IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION

3 night break in centre of SCARBOROUGH North Yorkshire The property was modern and comfy for 2 people would have struggled with 3 or 4. Only 3 dining chairs and very small dining table. The apartment was on the 3rd floor with 42 steps to reach it. Feel the details should have said not suitable for elderly/infirm.
