Dog friendly, but needs outside tap to wash sandy dog. All electric good unless there is a power cut. 5 hours no light or heating in February. No candles., but a few torches supplied. Need to bring your own logs for wood burner. Would have been helpful to know, would have paid extra to have them there. None available to buy in Bamburgh. Have to drive to Seahouses. Very well equipped kitchen, consequently no space to store food. Received too many slightly threatening emails both before and during regarding possible damage and breakages. Made us feel rather unwelcome. As did lack of assistance when the power went off. The corporate approach of ‘Host and Stay’ means the personal touch is sadly missing.
Great cosy property, perfect location for dog walks, cafes and pubs. Would love to stay again at some point.
Fantastic Family property right in the .heart of the village. Positive: Lovely 'home from home' feeling. It had everything needed in the cupboards. Excellent location, just a short stroll into the village for the butchers, pantry, baked goods, essentials etc. A fantastic dog friendly property with all their needs catered for too. Plus a 15 minute stroll to the magnificent beach. A huge flat beach with the sea and rock pools to explore, but never feeling crowded with other people or dogs. Negative: The bed was very firm. The parking spot needs careful attention to get to. Either need to move the hotel bins, or ask hotel guests to park properly.
Wonderful location, nicely sized, well equipped kitchen. My family of 4 stayed here and were very pleased with the accommodation.
Beautiful homely property in the heart of Bamburgh - the best castle in the UK, hands down! Home was fully equipped in the kitchen for a relaxing weekend making an early Christmas feast. Warm, cosy and a great location. Will definitely stay again!
We had a great couple of nights away. The house was comfortable and very clean. it was in a great position in Bamburgh with the additional benefit of parking. The beds were comfortable, towels were fluffy, and the personal touches were great. thank you
Kittling Nook is a lovely property, extremely close to the Main Street of Bamburgh. It is very comfortable with lovely decor, nice furniture and many homely touches. It was very clean, well equipped. We felt at home immediately! One of our party has slight mobility issues, but had no problem accessing or getting around the property. From booking until leaving we were provided with a great deal of useful information. Claire is a very friendly and helpful host, who left us some treats on our arrival. Thank you Claire. We would not hesitate in staying at the property again or recommending it to family and friends.
Kittling Nook is a lovely clean, comfortable and very well-equipped bungalow in a fabulous location in the centre of Bamburgh, near to some great places to eat. Beautiful Bamburgh beach is an easy ten minute walk away and with the castle towering above the sand dunes it's a spectacular location. The treats left by Claire were a lovely surprise, thank you! We'd definitely like to stay here again.
Great house for a family, comfy and spacious. Central location to the village/near the beach for great walks. Would definitely stay again if back in the area.
Good location and good in summer months (I expect) Positive: Good location and house was fine Negative: Notices everywhere about where to leave your shoes and how to strip beds at the end - and to remember to report breakages etc. All very businesslike and not very friendly. Very tight on cleaning products - only 3 dishwasher tablets and no washing machine powder. Most of the pans etc in the cupboards needed washing before we could use them and the colander was filthy! Cleaners clearly don’t really look inside cupboards etc Just not a very romantic place despite the location and it smells doggy so if you are sensitive then book elsewhere
A great place to stay in beautiful Bamburgh.
The Kittling Nook is a great cottage in a great location, right in the heart of Bamburgh. It is well equipped and all of the appliances and electronics are of top quality. It is very quiet, which made for great sleeps. The owner, Claire, and her support team were great to deal with. All of our communiques were responded to almost immediately, making our stay hassle free.Parking is a bit tight as it uses a shared parking laneway with the neighbouring boutique hotel. Small to mid size car is recommended. However, overnight free parking on the street is allowed and is an option if needed.
The bungalow was beautiful , clean, comfortable and as described in the listing. The area was lovely, with good pubs/restaurants and perfectly positioned for our visit to Bamburgh and surrounding areas. Parking is difficult at the side due to hotel guests also parking there. Luckily we were able to park up the road, when spaces were available, and it did not spoil our holiday.
Fabulous few days in the heart of Bamburgh. Positive: Spacious accommodation in a great location - a hidden gem in the centre of Bamburgh Negative: The parking space next to the property is inaccessible due to parked cars. The sofas are not comfortable to sit on.
Lovely cottage in a great location. Well equipped kitchen & very clean. The description of the cottage explained that shower gel & shampoo was included but this wasn’t the case. Luckily we had brought some but had to purchase shower gel during our stay.
Good apartment, terrible management — felt like a bait-and-switch Positive: it was clean there Negative: The apartment itself is decent, but the way Host & Stay manages it is unacceptable. Important information only became clear after I had paid a non-refundable rate. When I asked Booking.com to cancel without penalty because of this, Host & Stay refused — leaving me with the choice of losing all my money or accepting conditions I would never have agreed to beforehand. The listing was also inaccurate: it advertised a fireplace, hardwood/parquet floors, barbecue and children’s books. There was no fireplace, no hardwood/parquet flooring, no barbecue and no children’s books. The map location was wrong, the building was extremely difficult to find, check-in instructions arrived late, nobody met us, and there was virtually no useful assistance with basic questions about the property. Even the front-door lock was so unintuitive that I had to call support — and the person I spoke to was rude. They also refused to let me simply leave luggage before check-in and refused a 90-minute late checkout. Check-in is 4 PM; check-out is 10 AM. Taken together, this felt less like hospitality and more like a bait-and-switch operation: attractive listing first, restrictive conditions and missing advertised features after your money is already locked in. I would never book a Host & Stay property again.
Lovely bungalow, very clean and welcoming. Comfy beds and all appliances, utensils that you would need. Perfect location in Bamburgh near to castle, shops, pubs etc yet in a quiet little no through road.
First of all location and property were excellant. On arrival found outside furniture broken and unusable . Contacted host and stay and reported it only to get an email straight after saying all broken furniture must be paid for . Heard nothing else from them all week beside the promise looking into it and replacing furniture. Next we found towels that were very small and thread bare. 3rd issue was the eclectic blew. Found contact details for the owner Clair she dealt with last to issues perfectly. The main issue and the issue that will stop us coming back is the parking . We have had different emails telling us where we could park and neither were correct . If you need your car like we did as also playing golf you need to find alternative parking or you just get blocked in or cannot get in.
We had a fantastic week here. Bamburgh is beautiful and we were perfectly situated in this beautiful property. Very quiet location and really well equipped. Exceptionally clean, really comfortable beds and sofas and well equipped bathrooms with great showers. We loved it here. Property has everything you need. Our only gripe is the parking. Property parking is inaccessible and supposed reserved space in hotel car park does not exist. Bamburgh is busy and it is difficult to find a parking space although possible. I reiterate accommodation is amazing.
Home away from home in a scenic and beautiful town Positive: The house is comfortable, clean, and has everything you need for a trip. Plenty of pots, pans, china, and cutlery. Beds and couches were very comfortable. There are board games and a book with all the local restaurant menus. I definitely recommend going to the Middle Inn for a laid back pub environment with good prices and great food. Communication from the property owner was excellent. It’s definitely designed to be a true home away from home. Negative: There is not much I can say that I didn’t like. But if I’m being nit-picky, then I would have to say it was the parking. There are two parking spots, excellent perk, one at the front of the next door shared parking lot and the other next to the house at the end of the shared parking. It can be precarious if your vehicle is large. We had a very large vehicle, Volkswagen Multivan, which was too large for the first spot and had trouble maneuvering out of the spot next to the house. If you have a normal size car or suv, then it shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Again, me being nit-picky.
Positive: Very comfortable accommodation in a great position Negative: The parking is very tight
Lovely place. Use the allocated parking space at the hotel carpark or you will get blocked in.
Cozy stay in Bamburgh Positive: Amazing location for Bamburgh village
A great property, which provided a perfect base in Bamburgh. The location is brilliant with everything walking distance. Really convenient parking and the instructions for getting into the property were easy so made for a smooth arrival. The property was lovely, had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. It was very clean with lovely bed linen and easy to use amenities. Thanks for a great stay.
We loved staying here in Bamburgh. The location was brilliant, within walking distance to Bamburgh castle, the stunning beach and a row of pubs serving food. We explored a lot in the local area (Holy Island, Alnwick, Bamburgh castle, Craster/Dunstanburgh castle, Warkworth castle) - helped by the perfect weather. The bungalow was perfect for our group - two adults, two kids (tween/teen) and dog. It was well-equipped, clean & comfortable. Communication was clear and proactive and no issues at all with check in & plenty of info provided. Note that the parking is tight for a larger vehicle and we had to use the bay in the car park rather than the drive as it was regularly blocked (we didn’t want to be blocked in). Someone had parked in the space one day but that is beyond the owners control! We were very happy with our holiday & had a fabulous stay.
Great place to stay! Easy walk into the village and beach. One of the best equipped air bnbs I’ve stayed in with everything you need in the kitchen. Garden was cute as well and it was very clean. Only downside was the parking - luckily we had a small car but you’d struggle with a bigger one. There was meant to be an easier space in the hotel car park but we were told this was no longer the case by the hotel staff. Otherwise I’d highly recommend!
Great location Positive: Wonderful property. Great location and had everything you needed Negative: Nothing it was exceptional
A lovely property to explore from and return to comfortable accommodation. Positive: A beautiful property in an excellent location for exploring not only Bamburgh but the surrounding area. The property is well appointed with everything you could need for a week/weekend away.
Kittling Nook is an excellent place to stay in Bamburgh. It’s perfectly located for a very easy walk into the village centre, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. It’s extremely well equipped and plenty of space for 4 people. The lounge area is very comfortable and the kitchen and dining area well laid out. The outside patio was also a great space to chill after a day’s walking. We would definitely book Kittling Nook again.
Positive: Love the location. Comfy living space. Everything you could need for your stay, just bring food! Beds were really comfortable which they often aren't in rentals. Negative: As others have mentioned, parking is an issue. If you aren't good at reversing, you have no hope of getting in or out. Although there is a space in the hotel car park, it's an awkward angle and it always had someone else parked in it so we had to get onto the drive. Took some doing to reverse through the carpark. You can park on the road if you get there early but means you have to carry bags to the cottage.
Fab stay - spotless and comfortable accommodation. Great location. Will hopefully be back.
The Cottage was comfy and really well equipped, spotlessly clean and only a few minutes walk from shops and the beach. Great communications in advance.Enjoyed the woodburning stove and the peace and quiet. Would definitely come back here again.
Excellent as always! Sadly getting more expensive for the week, so hopefully will still be able to c
Positive: Location cleanliness
We had a fantastic stay at Kittling Nook. The place had everything you needed and more. The place was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfy too. \n\nWe have never stayed in a place that was so well equipped. Absolutely fantastic. Booked straight away for next year too. \n\nThank you.
Great location and great facilities couldnt ask for more!
Beautiful cottage in an ideal location Positive: Cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. Ideally located in central Bamburgh Negative: Parking an issue if you have 2 cars. Parking space at cottage tricky to get out of. Spare parkng space was used by a visitor of nearby hotel
A wonderful weekend in a beautiful cottage. The location is perfect. Spotlessly clean and well equipped cottage. Absolutely recommend and wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we visit Bamburgh again. The host provided all the information needed and responded to messages quickly.
lovely spot ideal for our short stay. close to the centre and walkable to the beach. clean and well set out.
We had a really lovely time in Bamburgh. The accommodation was brilliant for what we needed and felt just like home. Lovely and clean and no problems throughout. Thank you, well be back!
Super place. Great location. Had all the essentials we needed. Everything was just as we wanted. Loved it
Fantastic home in the heart of Bamburgh!
Good place to stay in Bamburgh Positive: Very good location, being on the main street of Bamburgh. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. It was comfortable and warm.
Lovely place right in centre walking distance Parking and spotless and quiet
An excellent place a couple of minutes walk from the very heart of Bamburgh. No need to really use the car again once you've parked up in the private parking space. Large enough accommodation to stay for a while if required, really easy and relaxing stay.
Bamburgh is the stunning location on the north Sea, which includes an ancient castle. It’s hard to find a more picturesque village.
Good sized property, very clean, friendly host, only small issue was the parking which could be sorted very easily with a traffic cone or other.
Lovely place to stay with many thoughtful touches and well equipped. Only issue was the car parking. The spot outside the place is handy for unloading although there are pebbles and steps for a short distance. However the access is through a hotel car park and the guest parking made things difficult at times.
Lovely place very central with all amenities and more would come back and stay again Positive: Lovely property have recommended and will stay again Negative: If being very picky Outdoor space could be a bit better
The bungalow was perfect. Home from home. Washing up liquid provided fresh milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and sugar and other welcoming things. The only down side too it was, even though it had its own private driveway, accessing it proved difficult. Inconsiderate people had blocked the through road to it so it was impossible to get through in the car. When this was clear we chose then not to park on it incase we ended up being blocked in then we wouldn’t have been able to visit places we wanted too. This is no reflection on Host and Stay or the owner of the property at all. Maybe some signage of considerate parking maybe helpful. I would return to the property as location was great too.
Very comfortable & well-equipped. Great location, 2 minutes max walk from the local eateries (be sure to book these in advance if visiting during peak times).
Well equipped property. Spoiled slightly by the annoying little things that make a difference Positive: Perfect location and only a few minutes walk from Bamburgh Castle, a few minutes drive from Seahouses and the surrounding area. Well equipped cottage which had everything that we needed for our stay and in a place that we have been to many many times over the years. Negative: Car parking was a nightmare although I have to say that it is not the fault of the property owners however. It was more the fact that you couldn't access the allocated parking bay as it is at the end of a narrow access down the side of the hotel next door and this meant that whenever anybody parked outside the hotel, then it was either extremely difficult to park, or it was impossible to park. There is also a parking bay at the entrance of the hotel, however if your car is any larger than a Corsa / Fiesta sized vehicle, then you are at risk of either getting it hit by other cars, or you can't get anything or anybody in or out of your vehicle when you park there We had to constantly repair all of the dining chairs, as they had wooden spindles for legs and these kept coming out, which meant that we were a risk of either breaking the chairs or of injuring ourselves every time we sat on any of them. As stated in the positive comments, the cottage had everything that was needed for our stay. Pity really as with the exception of these comments, the place was lovely and we would still recommend it to anyone who is looking for somewhere quiet in Bamburgh, for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of normality.
After a smooth check in we were met with an imacculately clean, beautifully finished property. The property had everything you could need including a handy welcome pack. The property, overlooking fields is based a short stroll into Bamburgh and the castle/beautiful beaches. It's also a convenient location for other coastal locations ie Seahorses, Beadnell and Craster. A very relaxing stay.
A lovely few days away in a beautiful clean and tidy rental property. Had everything required. Suited our needs perfectly. Close to the beach and restaurants.
Hard to go wrong in a beautiful village like Bamburgh. In walking distance to the castle and beach, with a couple of great eating spots close by / neighboring Northumbrian towns. We had an issue with one shower being broken which the host hadn't been able to fix, nor notify us to it's situation until we had already arrived and checked in. This was frustrating, though I'm sure won't reflect on future bookings once repaired. All in all it was a pleasant stay in a lovely part of the country. Price seemed fair / within reason, for the location and amenities (when all in working order) in relation to the competition. Thank you for having us !
I must say from start to finish the instructions were clear and easy to follow when we got there, upon arrival the bungalow smelt beautiful and was decorated to a very high standard. There was a welcome basket that was very much appreciated after a long journey. Once you step out onto the street the view of the castle was breath taking. We had an amazing holiday and Claire was absolutely lovely. What a great holiday and didn’t want it to end. Thank you so so much
Great host and lovely space- thank you!
