We had a fantastic stay at Kittiwake house and would highly recommend it to others. We stayed as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children of 12 & 7. The house is very spacious and really tastefully decorated as well as being equipped with everything a family would need. \n\nThe area felt very safe and the beach is a 10 minute walk away and a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes within a 5/10 min walk from the property. We used the local Monkseaton Metro aand it took about 15 minutes to get to the station from the house. \n\nThere we no negatives to our stay and we would stay there again in future.

Exceptionally comfortable and clean... Very spacious family accommodation. Positive: Beautifully clean and comfortable. Fantastic location close to links and Spanish City. Great family facilities in a spacious traditional terraced house. Great sleep! Negative: Not many complaints at all. The heating was difficult to understand and would have been useful for drying swimming gear and towels.

This is a really nice spacious home . We stayed as a family of 4 adults and a two year old child. The lounge and double bedrooms were spacious and having two bathrooms was a bonus. Great location for accessing beach, playground and shopping streets-we actually didn’t move our car for a week as everything we needed was close by. Good quality decor and appliances -would highly recommend.

Very nice house with plenty of space and comfortable beds, perfect for our family of 5. The location is great, the house is located on a safe, quiet street, and only a short walk to the co-op, restaurants and to the seaside. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Fab location near to the beach and lots of independent shops / cafes etc. was great for our family holiday visiting relatives.

This was a wonderful home to stay in. We felt right at home and had no issues with anything. The surrounding areas are so great for families or even just walking fiends. The amusements near by and the Co-op, also being within 10 minutes of the Metro, made this stay even better. It was big and spacious and we didn’t feel fed up of each other like we would normally do on the last day! Just great.

This is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway. We had a wonderful weekend with family. Everywhere is within walking distance. All amenities are catered for in this property and we were very impressed with the communication with the hosts from the moment we have booked to the moment we have left. The property itself is bespoke with top of the range facilities to use. We cannot wait to book through Host and Stay again. Thank you for having us!

Great location to Whitley Bay, and to the metro for the city. A few downsides not listed: - Not enough cutlery, for all 5 of us. We ended up using the plastic ones. - Broken vase just turned around to hide it was broken. - Lasty - The parking fine obtained. One car was parked in the really small car area. No room for the other car so we parked it in front of the other blocking only the driveway to the property. We came back from the GNR to discover we had a parking fine. No mention of this in the guide (the owners have supposedly now amended). We had to park the car 0.5 of a mile away and pay separately for parking. Having a small child this was less than ideal and we ended up accidentally leaving my £140 trainers behind. So already we were £175 down with the trainers and fine. Owners declined to reimburse us for the fine. Do not park down the back of the property if you can't get into the small car area, make sure u park elsewhere. A lovely house with a few things letting it down.

This stylishly furnished and comfortable house was a great place to stay over a birthday weekend. The location was great for exploring the local area, we used the Metro and buses to get around. Convenient for local shops, independent bars and eateries.

We live in the area and had an issue with our kitchen, so needed somewhere to stay VERY short notice. This place was fantastic for the whole family, really clean, lovely furnishings, excellent communication from the hosts. Walking distance to Park View and the beach - perfect for families. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in Whitley Bay where my husband was brought up so we know the area well. Home from home, comfortable & uncluttered house.

We loved staying at this property which has a brilliant location close to the beach and all local amenities, including a number of nice pubs and cafes. Our only minor criticism was that given we were there for a significant period of time it would have been nice to have a little more storage space for clothes and bags etc

I could not have loved this place more. It was so beautiful, and the location was perfect. Within minutes of walking you could be on the beach, or on the most beautiful high street filled with lovely shops and restaurants. We walked the dog on the beach every morning before starting our day. It was also a big and comfortable house. Everything about our stay was wonderful. I would definitely stay again.

Good but could be better Positive: Very spacious Negative: Lack of bins - broken door handle in bedroom - not possible to park on site as it was too tight. We had to leave the roller shutter door open as the gate was inaccessible. No outside lights at the back.

This was our second stay at this fantastic house. The house is very clean with renovated modern kitchen and bathrooms, and the location is super walkable to the many shops and restaurants in the main commercial area of Whitley Bay. We will definitely stay at this home again the next time we're in the area.

We enjoyed our stay here and felt so comfortable, it was very clean and we had lots of space. The children really enjoyed it, some nice toys and books and it was near to all amenities. The host was very responsive when we got in touch. We'd love to return again in future. Many thanks.

This is a superb accommodation. Parking was an issue for us as we drive large vehicles . As with all sea front areas parking is at best difficult, That said I would definitely stay again

Spacious, well-furnished and clean house. Close to beach and amenities. A lovely part of Whitley Bay and a relaxing place to stay for a few days. Unfortunately we had an issue with the parking. My partner and I were easily able to park our car in a nearby street. However, our son damaged the mud guard of his car when attempting to reverse into the narrow parking space at the rear of the property, necessitating a morning searching for a garage to carry out repairs before we could enjoy our holiday. Would it be possible to provide a permit for parking in the rear lane? (We note that permanent residents have parking permits.)

We had such a lovely stay in this property. It was our first experience of Airbnb and definitely a good one! The property was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The location was ideal for walking into Whitley Bay or down to the seafront.

We appreciated the spacious rooms and tasteful decor. The area is great for children and we found lots of free activities. Beach combing and rock pooling are musts to do with the little ones. The house was very comfortable and the internet connection was good. Some charging points would have been welcome. Altogether a great choice for our Whitley Bay stay.

Stayed for 3 nights in July 2026. All instructions for arrival were good, and I managed to (very carefully) get my estate car parked in the parking space at the property, but it needed careful manoeuvering! Nothing wrong with the property, although it felt like it would be easy to make it more welcoming with a few simple touches (making sure housekeeping hoovered and dusted a bit more thoroughly, sorting out the wooden floor in the kitchen which is a bit loose, and putting toilet roll holders in the upstairs bathrooms would be top of the list). It has 2 bedrooms and 2 separate bathrooms – none are ensuite, but all bedrooms and bathrooms are fine. Kitchen well equipped with cutlery, crockery, glasses, bowls etc. and it has a very welcome nespresso machine which got well used!

A beautiful, very spacious home in an excellent location! Only a 5 minute walk into the centre and 5 min from the beach! The home was well equipped with everything we needed. It was a lovely home to return to after our days out! The host was exceptionally speedy with their response times with a couple of queries. We would definitely return to this house again.

We were impressed with the thought that had gone into the decor of the house. It’s in a great location with many cafes and bars a few minutes walk away. The beach and metro are also very close by. Neighbours were extremely friendly. Off road parking was a bonus - we managed to fit our car in the space but please note it is suitable for small cars only really.

Beautifully situated, there are issues. Negative: It was an odd mix. Some things were done really nicely but others were really lacking. Parking is really an issue, obviously a permit can't be issued for the house so you could at least back at the back of the property? We were stuck in the first night, lock fell off the front door so had to wait in. Lovely, lovely man turned up and sorted it. Nothing from the company/hosts to apologise and follow up? Is the call centre really in the Philippines? The person on the phone didn't tell me that by the way. They were as helpful as they could be but accent was quite hard to understand at times. So house was very obviously lovingly renovated. Then iron and board were cheap and not fit for purpose. Curtains in 2nd bedroom were slightly too short? I could go on, there's an attention to detail that has been missed. Great to have 2 bathrooms!

Negative: We stayed at Kittiwake House with our 4-month-old baby and unfortunately the experience was disappointing due to ongoing heating issues throughout the stay. The thermostat was not functioning properly from the start, meaning we could not reliably control the temperature in the property. We reported this immediately and were told an engineer would attend between 9pm and 10pm on the first night, but nobody arrived and we received no communication or update. This was particularly frustrating as we had arranged our evening around the visit. We had also made it clear that we were travelling with a young baby, so being left without a reliable heating solution on the first night was unacceptable. Maintaining a safe and consistent room temperature for an infant is important, and instead we spent the night constantly adjusting layers and bedding. An engineer eventually attended the following day and implemented a workaround, but the issue was never properly resolved. We were forced to leave the heating running continuously to stop the property becoming too cold, which often made it overly warm instead. As a result, comfort remained an issue for the duration of the stay. The property itself has potential, but the handling of the issue and lack of communication fell well below expectations. We also felt the response to our complaint afterwards was inadequate, and when we said so we received no meaningful reply or engagement on the issue. Overall, not the standard of accommodation or customer service we expected.

I appreciated the hosts speed of response to questions. Spacious and great standard of accommodation. Bathrooms of a good size and quality showers. Super to have a private parking spot but is for a smaller car and those very confident in their parking skills.

A great house, within an easy walk of beach and amenities with a cool decor, lovely bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. Although the front of the house is on quite a busy road, it’s very quiet inside the house and also there’s private parking for a small car. We loved the super comfy beds!

A very comfortable and well appointed base for our 3 night stay Positive: The quality of the decor, furniture and furnishings combined with the bedding, kitchen and bathroom facilities to make the stay an exceptional one. The location also happened to be absolutely perfect for our stay. Secure parking at the rear was a bonus. Negative: Lack of garden space at rear might be less than optimum in the summer but didn't affect us.

Had such a lovely stay at this property – the cosy fire made it extra special and the furniture was just perfect. Already looking forward to coming back! ✨🔥

Lovely house with spacious rooms just 5 mins from beach and 2 mins from great bakery.

Really clean, well equipped house. Very comfortable and plenty space for us all. We managed to fit our car in the back yard with space for just the driver’s side to get out (we have a Mercedes GLA 250). We left the car there the whole time as everywhere so close. Easy reach of the beach and Spanish city and the other direction monkseaton metro station. Would highly recommend.

Kittiwake house was a lovely place to stay in the heart of Whitley Bay. Charlie was a great host and extremely helpful and quick to reply to messages. Lots to do around the area and only a short walk to the beach.

We loved this rental. So happy with the location and stylish decor. The flat had comfortable beds, soft nice sheets and towels. The kitchen was stocked with lovely dishes, brilliant starter kits, and good working amenities. We are hoping to come back very soon.

Excellent location in Whitley Bay- close to the sea front and lovely independent shops on Park View. The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. It retains some original features which give the house character. We had a great weekend.

We settled in well and enjoyed our stay, with proximity to beach and Spanish City. Unfortunately, we couldn’t park inside because our car was too wide to go through the shutter gate. But parked in nearby car park for £3 per day. Needed a permit for back road but none available, and inspectors came round from time to time. But overall a very enjoyable stay and would return if opportunity arises.

The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is in a great location with the high street, seafront and metro station all within a short walk. Great space to relax in with well chosen fittings and furnishings!

Lovely house, ideal space for 5 adults. Easy walking distance to coastline and town centre. Plenty of places to eat and lots of takeaways too. The space for parking is quite tight, better suited for a small car but plenty of car parks nearby, free to park overnight and £3 for a day. This ticket during the day covers several carparks.

We couldn't have imagined a more lovelier home in beautiful Whitley Bay. High ceilings, pristine furniture and very clean and looked after. We had a wonderful, comfortable stay and would happily return! Instructions were clear and helpful. All in all, exactly the experience we were after. Thank you!

Comfortable house in a good location. However, we found a broken blind, stains to the carpet and an area of missing ceiling on arrival. From a card left by a contractor, it appeared that there had been a leaking pipe and a repair was in progress. As the card was addressed to them, this was clearly known to Host and Stay and they should have informed us. We had no problem with the damage waiver but couldn’t understand why the amount was not advised until the booking was confirmed and why this payment had to be made outside of Airbnb. Compared to other properties we considered, this was one of the more expensive, and although we enjoyed our stay, the customer service could have been improved.

We enjoyed our stay a short walk from the beach and found the house to be generally furnished/fitted to a high standard. The utility room had a large hole in the ceiling and the shutter for the parking space was broken which let it down slightly but these issues were relatively minor in what is otherwise a great property.

Nicely modernized and convenient The unit is a terraced house which is an easy walk to Whitley Bay beach and restaurants. The entire house has been modernized and was sparkling clean. Comfortable beds, great bathrooms, and spacious living area. What more do you need for a home away from home. Only thing I might complain about is that there is a lack of cutlery in the kitchen.

Had a brilliant stay in the beautifully renovated Kittiwake House. Very cosy and comfortable living room and bedrooms. Excellent location for a great selection of cafes and restaurants in Monkseaton and Whitley Bay plus only a few minutes walk from the Metro for exploring further afield.

Holiday in Whitley Bay Positive: The location was ideal, just a short walk to the beach. The house was exceptionally beautiful, very clean and well presented. It has everything you need to cook and very comfortable beds and furniture. Negative: Plastic cutlery was a bit of a disappointment given all of the other kitchen provisions were really well equipped. The off site parking is a bit tight if you have a big car.

Fabulous find for our long weekend. Positive: Loved this house! Really clean, spacious and in a great location (only 5 mins walk from the seafront). Negative: The parking is a little tricky but OK for a small car. There is on-road parking on a nearby street.
