Steep stairs Positive: The location is ideal easy to park very clean house Negative: The stairs are very steep with a small step at the top could easily trip in the dark when going to the down stairs . The bathroom is down stairs not a massive problem but would have liked it listed in the description had I know it was down stairs I would have looked else where to stay

Host was very proactive and helpful, clear instructions on how to check in and the property was easy to find and a quick walk from the city centre Would stay again

On arrival the house was dirty, particularly the bathroom and kitchen, there was rubbish on the floor, hair all over the skirting boards and in the cooker, fridge was dirty inside, there were stains that hadn’t been cleaned all over the kitchen, sticky substances on the lids of the tea and coffee, dirty kitchenware and lastly the bedding was dirty with sticky brown substance and hairs. The heating was also switched off on summer settings without instructions how to change this and the house was very cold. There was noise from children shouting next door until 11pm. There is no blind in the kitchen on the way to the bathroom and the curtains don’t fit the window in the lounge. Host and Stay insisted they would rectify the problems, and send in housekeeping and maintenance the next day. They fixed the heating settings. Housekeeping reset the dishcloth, didn’t clean and made the bed with the same dirty sheets. At this point I didn’t stay, and am still waiting to hear back about a refund.

We stayed here for the weekend, and most notably the property was spotlessly clean and tidy. The location was brilliant, and it was only a short 20-minute stroll into the centre of York. The only cons were that there were a few basics missing. We were not provided with a tea towel for drying dishes, we only had one toilet roll, and had no welcome pack/ recommendations book. I think it was slightly on the pricey side for what was provided. All in all, a comfortable stay.

Only thing missing was a kitchen roll and sponge for dishes but other than that the host was amazing the place was spotless and beautiful and of walkable distance from the city centre. The house felt really cozy and cottage like. Would definitely return. All the amenities listed were there otherwise.
