We both enjoyed and happy to return Positive: Like the apartmennnt and location. Car park was convenient but not cheap. Negative: Noise from above room and noisy outside bedroom at night

The property was great in so many ways, clean, tidy, well kept, nice kitchen, good size bathroom - all apart from 1 really important point…the bed. It was so uncomfortable, myself and wife had terrible nights sleep to the point I slept better on their sofa. Such a let down given the amount of effort has been put into property to let it down so much. We ended up leaving early as the break wasnt relaxing, as both of us were incredibly tired due to the bed. I wouldn’t consider myself fussy, so don’t think these points are unfair, just being honest

Lovely AirB&B for 2 people. Very clean with everything required for a great stay. Near to restaurants and pubs. Host gave good instructions, much appreciated. I would certainly stay there again if and when visiting Whitby.

Positive: Immaculate, spacious,well situated modern, everything we needed except some hand soap.worth the money . Would definitely recommend. Negative: No hand soap.the blind strings were too high to reopen them.

we had a great stay at holmwood great location,easy access to town, carpark opposite ,well layed out apartment with everything you could need,just one thing a coat rack in hallway would be a good edition but apart from that it's a lovely apartment and good value

I had a really lovely stay here. The flat is cosy, clean, and in such a brilliant location, just a short walk from the Pavilion where I was attending a festival, and perfect for exploring Whitby. It felt like a welcoming little base to come back to after busy days. The only small thing to mention is that you can sometimes hear noise from the flat upstairs. It didn’t spoil my stay, but maybe a gentle sign for guests above would help. Overall, I’d happily come back – it’s a great spot in a wonderful town.

Great place, in an excellent location. We had little one with us, so had a pram, and the apartment was extremely easy to access. We would definitely stay here again!

Lovely flat which was perfect for our 2 night stay. Clean and bright and everything explained well. Parked on silver street car park which was £9 for 24 hours. Would definitely stay here again. Jeanette, Ela and Rosie the dog !

Brilliant location Positive: Large and airy apartment, big walk in shower, well equipped kitchen, location great. Negative: Few cleaning issues, old mattress left outside kitchen window, no sound proofing upstairs so could hear everything as they banged about all hours.

For a property in the centre of a town the area was so quiet, we never heard a thing during the night. I would definitely recommend staying there. Negative: Nothing

Just fabulous. Positive: Seemed all new and refurbed. Great location. Very cosy. Had all the things supplied. Shower gels, sauces tea & coffee. Just a great stay Negative: No parking but that’s very typical there. Parked for free on a street recommended by the owner

Fantastic stay and great value for money Positive: The property was lovely and had everything you needed. Location was fantastic. Negative: My only criticism is it would have been nice to have more privacy in the bathroom. The window looks out into a little alleyway which is accessed by guests staying in the above apartments so maybe a blind would be better rather than just the frosted window.

Perfect location but apartment needs some serious attention. Positive: The location is perfect, literally in the heart of everything. Negative: The property has a damp issue throughout, paint is peeling, walls are wet, mould in the bathroom, and it smells very fusty. It wasn’t massively clean either, and rug and carpet need a good clean.

Excellent property, would definitely recommend for a couple. Positive: The property was lovely. Had absolutely everything you could need, iron, ironing board, dishwasher, washing machine. The kitchen was fully equipped. The dining room was spacious. There was WI-FI which was excellent. Nice cosy little room to lounge in. Bedroom was very spacious and airy. Bathroom also very spacious and a great size shower. Perfect property would definitely recommend. Situated in a great place too. Easy access to everything. Perfect. Negative: Would have liked a parking scratch card especially for the price we paid. Silver Street Car Park is always so busy and can be quite costly. Free parking is a good walk away and not ideal when you have luggage.

Good location Positive: The place is nice , modern and clean and it's near from the city centre and few minutes from shops and walking distance from everything Negative: Because the flat is on the bottom floor we always hear noise from above the floor after midnight, hoover or shouting and footsteps. Theres some moulds and floor damage but it's not really a big deal for us and last day the washing machine doesn't work

Positive: Location Negative: Damp smell and plaster peeling off walls. Uncomfortable bed. Dirty carpet in bedroom that hadn’t been hoovered

the property was not ready for guests, there had been a leak, a dehumidifier was in place, no carpet on the floor, table and chairs piled up, the bed not made. horrendous, this was arriving at 5pm on a sunday, host and stay were not helpful, said they had no alternative properties in whitby and fibbed me of. i requested a full refund and booked another apartment through another company i will never use host and stay again

Positive: The apartment was light, spacious and well decorated. The facilities were great, a hole from home. Negative: No real issues, I was going to mention upstairs noise but that isn't the hosts fault it's the people staying above.

First impressions were brilliant, the road is incredibly tight and there is no parking so we found it best to enter from the bottom of silver street. There's a small driveway opposite that says 'no parking' but we did use it to quickly unload the car before we went off to park. The keys were easy to locate and the apartment is huge for a one bedroom. It was nice to see tea, coffee, sugar and washing up liquid in the kitchen although i'd messaged about this in advance and told there wasn't any so we'd brought our own! The TV was logged into netflix, disney plus etc and the apartment was light and airy. The apartment was clean and well equipped in the kitchen. We'd asked in advance about a travel cot and were told we could bring our own, there was plenty of room in the bedroom for it and storage. One critisism is this is a ground floor flat and any movement in the flat above was LOUD. We'd luckily taken a white noise machine for the baby or I think we'd have all been regularly woken.

Do not stay here, it’s filthy. Positive: It was easy to find and access. Negative: The place was disgusting. Black mould everywhere, the floors were filthy, our socks turned black in a matter of minutes. Even the coffee table hadn’t been wiped, the most basic of tasks. I had my 3 month old baby with me and was so worried about him breathing in the mold but they responded too late to move us. Then to handle my complaint they offered me 20% off my next stay…what a joke.

We had a nice stay at Holmwood, good amenities (coffee and tea) and utensils and cookware. Communication was great and was clean and modern. However there’s some things we were slightly disappointed but didn’t affect our stay massively as we were only visiting for a few days. The washing machine was not working. Mattress needs changing soon a bit flat. Slightly run down walls and under radiator - but that’s a nick pick. Upstairs (the flat above) is quite noisy due to thin walls and flooring, we understand that’s out of hand so we’d recommend earplugs if you’re a light sleeper like my partner. Overall it’s decent price with everything you need the kitchen and good location for a quick 2 day getaway. Thank you for our stay.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The property was advertised as a luxury home with the highest quality standards, but this was not reflected in the condition we found on arrival. We encountered dirty cutlery and stained cups in the cupboards, cobwebs above the bed and in the bathroom, thick dust on the skirting boards, debris and crisps left on the carpet from previous guests, and visible damp in multiple areas of the property. We reported the issues immediately and a housekeeper attended during our stay, but only some issues were addressed. Many of the cleanliness concerns, including the cobwebs, dust and debris on the floors, remained unresolved. My partner and I work hard for our holidays and expected the standard advertised. Sadly, this stay fell well short of those expectations and we would not recommend this property.

Lovely stay in Whitby as usual but let down by accommodation!!! Positive: Good location very central. Negative: Living room and kitchen had damp patches and smelt of damp when entering. Draft blew through the letter box and through the wood where it had spilt over the years. No internal vestibule door to stop draft. Bed was not a double as stated and was a three quarter bed that was extremely uncomfortable and pillows were hard. When leaving the apartment on checkout day there was a couple standing outside the property who informed us that they owned it. However when I loaded the car up they moved further down the road and I left the key in the key lock. Also no back door and windows very small so where is the fire exit for the rear of the property?????

I’ve used Host & Stay on a few occasions now. They are the only ones I’ll use to visit Whitby. On this visit if there was anything I’d suggest would be some oven gloves for the kitchen. Silver street is a great location and within walking distance of everything you’d want to do.

Excellent property in brilliant location

Die Lage war top, in einer kleiner Seitenstraße. Die Wohnung an sich war auch sauber, aber etwas ungemütlich. Sie hatte an fast jeder Wand große Flecken, vermutlich von Wasserschäden. Außerdem gab es keine Kaffeemaschine, was wir bei dem Preis erwartet hätten. Die Straße runter gab es zum Glück ein Café mit leckerem Kaffee (Lush Coffee). Für ein paar Tage ist es in Ordnung und wenn man viel unterwegs ist.

Positive: Location , central Negative: No nearby parking available. Apartment above ours had vouchers to park on street, but we did not. Had to park at Abbey car park at £13.10 per 24 hours.

Lovely place, well situated, clean, well equipped. Will stay here again next time in Whitby. Positive: Location is excellent, a fairly short walk to the harbour, although do remember this is Whitby - there are hills! The property is a comfortably decent size and well equipped. Bed was comfortable and everything was clean. We didn't bother with the free on-street parking 10 minutes walk away. We paid £9.20 per day in the car park across the road. Money well spent! Negative: The TV has no aerial input and therefore no terrestrial channels except through BBC iPlayer and ITVx. We don't have accounts with any of the online providers and it took us ages to get the hang of it all. Maybe we're just old-fashioned oldies and this is the way ahead but we didn't like it and that's what stopped the 10 rating.

Well positioned centrally in Whitby, everything within walking distance. Very clean and minimalist, a tad too minimalist for us but plenty of space for 2 people.

Great spot to stay in central Whitby and is highly recommended. Easy access to the center and activities. Good pubs and restraunts. Fishing, the beach, coastal walks... just great :)

Perfect location to the harbour and shops. Carpark literally one minute walk away. Very clean, modern accommodation with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Great place not far to walk to the sea front

Really beautiful place. The location is great, everything is in a great, walkable distance, and it’s very useful that the flat is a private ground floor. We parked in Silver Street car park via the JustPark app, paying £18 for 48 hours, and while there were a lot of reviews online saying that people received a fine, we’ve not had that problem (as of yet!)

Great weekend, 5 star overall, lovely clean apartment within walking distance of everything Whitby had to offer. Smallest of drawbacks was that couldn't hardly get any channels on the TV, but didn't come to watch it and didn't effect our enjoyment. Hosts kept in touch with e mails throughout the weekend keeping us updated of everything that was to offer, well done, thank you.

Positive: Location, close to the centre. Negative: Drafty front door. Gale force winds making hall and front bedroom cool/cold. We had brought hot water bottles just in case and needed to use them!

Negative: The sofa has seen better days, wasn't very comfortable and the TV only had 5 channels to choose from - thank god for having a Netflix account!

Really good location, two minutes walk from everything. Handy paid for parking across the street, wasn’t too expensive. Do need to watch where your maps app sends you with the one way streets!

Clean smart flat close to all amenities

The flat was great clean modern the tv wasn’t good could only get 1 channel bbc3 and just needs a blind at the bathroom window as it’s in a passage and people walk up it the location was ok

Stayed for two nights and found the accommodation to be very clean and comfortable, nice modern design and well-equipped kitchen with the usual appliances plus bonus of a dishwasher and washing machine. We did find the bed a little small, considering the size of the bedroom, a king-size could easily have been accommodated, and mattress was too soft for us, but that's just personal preference. We managed to park on Silver Street, there is a public car park, a bit rough and ready (not tarmacked) but very convenient. Be aware that Silver Street is very narrow at points, could be a bit tight for some SUV-type vehicles, depending on which end of the road you enter Silver Street from. Location was great, short walk down to harbour, or along to West Cliff. Botham's of Whitby has a shop very close by, they sell the most delicious cakes and pastries, highly recommend their lemon iced buns and pork pies! Lots of fab places for fish and chips, as you'd expect!

Lovely maisonette very close to the town centre nice. Clean and tidy and bigger than we expected. The only suggestion I would make would be to have a small map or better instructions to park opposite at the closest car park.

Great apartment within easy walking distance of all Whitby has to offer. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. A bit noisy upstairs sometimes and early morning on bin day outside, but not really a huge issue.

The apartment was easy to find, a great location in the centre of Whitby. The apartment is on the ground floor and we found it to be suited to our needs, with plenty of space. Tastefully decorated clean and welcoming. The host even left us shampoo & body wash samples in the bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities in the kitchen which was a nice touch. It does not come with a dedicated parking space but there is a pay & display car park just across the road from the apartment. The area was quiet in the evenings and we found the overall experience and stay a relaxing one. we will definitely be back!! Thank you host & stay.

Modern accommodation in a great location, but needs a few tweaks to make it better Positive: Really good location for walking around Whitby but also for travelling around from place to place in the local area. Negative: The property was on the ground floor and the bedroom was directly on the front, which meant it was noisy when people walked past and we could never open a window which would have been nice with the summer heat in the evenings, or it would have been nice for the accommodation to have a fan or something. The bedroom blind also needs to change because the light floods in very early due to the blinds not being ideal, every morning at like 3:30 the whole room was full of daylight. The bathroom has a frosted window which is down an alleyway of more accommodation, it has no blind on the window which means regardless of the frosted glass people can see your silhouette which isn’t very comforting when you’re in the shower. When booking the accommodation other guests had asked about parking and the answers suggested that each accommodation would receive a parking pass scratch card for the W zones in Whitby. When we arrived this was not in our property and when I asked about the parking scratch card I was advised we would not get one, which was a bit frustrating.

Had a great stay at Holmwood! It was close walking distance to central Whitby. There’s is a car park just across the street which is reasonably priced to leave the car overnight. Apartment looks exactly as pictured and is lovely and clean.

Pleasant enough stay despite issues on arrival Positive: Overall a pleasant enough stay and close to the seafront. Spacious well equipped apartment. Shower was lovely and big, with a choice of 2 shower heads. Fairly large TV in the living room and we were able to watch Netflix movies in the evenings. Though no terrestrial channels as no external feed. Negative: There were 2 main issues on arrival 1) the host was supposed to have provided a scratch card for street parking. After flagging this with the host, it did arrive the next morning, but not before having to pay for street parking. Though they did agree to refund this. Although no sign of the refund or communication since I submitted the receipt 9 days ago when they said they would process it. 2) the washing machine and dish washer were not working. Luckily I noticed that the water intake valves were switched off underneath the sink, so was able to fix this easily myself. The people upstairs were noisy on Saturday night, though fortunately not loud enough from the bedroom to prevent us sleeping.

Positive: Location location location!! Clean, new, quiet. Negative: No parking, noisy neighbours upstairs, not able to get TV channels for mum, no instructions for the heating.
