Positive: Fab property & location. Very comfortable & clean. My family thoroughly enjoyed the stay & it was great to be altogether but have separate facilities. Negative: Nothing!
Perfect for family get together Positive: The house was perfect for a family get together, the area was very quiet, and 10 to 15 minutes walk to beach.
A fantastic short stay catching up with family from a smart and comfortable house Positive: Really smart house on a new build estate with a great view over a golf course to the sea. Whitby was our family home for decades, it was lovely to be back. Negative: We didn’t much like only getting the code to get in on the morning of our arrival. Quite stressful for people travelling without good phone signals.
Fabulous Stay.....High Five for Highfield House! Positive: Our family of 8 really enjoyed our mini break at this super accommodation. The location was great, the views were amazing and the house was really lovely and had everything that we needed including parking for two cars. It was very clean, very comfortable and spacious enough for all of us to feel that we had plenty of room. A perfect place for a group of people. Negative: There was nothing that we didn't like.
We will be back to this house. Positive: The space, gardens and overall amenities in the house were amazing. Modern interior, loads of room for us and the kids . Excellent location and parking. Negative: Nothing
Great family getaway location, thanks!
Lovely family getaway, good location and nice house. Positive: Property was in a quiet area of Whitby and the centre was only a 20/25 minute walk away which suited us perfectly, and it was great having parking for 2 cars. Nice modern decor and 4 large bedrooms. Negative: Nothing really not to like although the downstairs is fairly small compared to the amount of space you have upstairs.
Highfield House was perfect for our family 6 adults 1 child an infant & 3 dogs. Lovely & modern with very comfortable beds & all the amenities you would expect. We had four good size bedrooms two en-suite & a family bathroom and downstairs toilet. The main bedroom which my wife and I slept has a wonderful balcony with sea views & views across Whitby Golf course, great for that relaxing morning coffee. We could gently stroll to the beach in 10 minutes & Whitby in approx 30 minutes, walking down Highfield Road turning left at the end keep walking crossing the main road eventually seeing the golf course on the left & the White House Pub ( handy for eats & drinks)with great golf & seaview views. The coastal path into Whitby is a delight with amazing cliff & Abbey views, we did this on a daily basis. We made the most of 5 days fantastic weather it felt like we were holidaying abroad. If you like Fish & Chips Whitby is the place to be. Highfield House was perfect base.
Lovely few days away with grandchildren. The house was perfect Positive: Easy to find. Good location. Very clean and well equipped Negative: N/A
Beautiful house, would definitely stay again. Positive: The property is just over a mile out of Whitby so easily walkable. Taxis are plenty and not a bad price. There was 6 of us and there was plenty of space. The bedrooms are a really good size. The house is a new build and the decor in the house is modern. Very nice bathrooms. The duvets are nice and bountiful. The balcony off the master bedroom looks out over the golf course and we spotted deer, pheasant and rabbits which was lovely. The kitchen is very well kitted out. The house had everything we needed other than as listed below. We would definitely stay again. Negative: There were hardly any coat hangers so I had to go out and buy some (which we left at the property for other visitors). There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms so again I had to go and buy some which is fine but it would have been handy to know this beforehand. There was only 1 tea towel in the kitchen which isn't enough for a week's holiday. Luckily I took some myself and a hand towel. Previous visitors had left dog poo on the back garden. Luckily we spotted this before our dog/children and removed it. It would be useful for the cleaners to check this.
Lovely house which was perfect location for our family break.
Beautiful property in a beautiful location Positive: Easy to get the keys from the dropbox, the facilities were incredible. Each room was spacious and had everything you needed including 2 en suites and a good sized garden for the dog and kids in our party. The accommodation is walking distance from the beach and from Whitby town itself. Would 100% recommend and will be looking to return myself.
Excellent house perfect for a family getaway with amenities close by Positive: Highfield House was excellent for our party of 6 adults, toddler and dog. Very modern, clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. Lovely view from the master bedroom and parking for 2 cars. Additional bonus of having Lidl round the corner. Will definitely recommend. Negative: We.we’re aware of the location of the house before we booked with a 20/30 minute walk into Whitby but on a cold wet December day it seemed further
an enjoyable mini break Positive: clean suitable for our families Negative: could not find the tin opener?
short break very pleasant and well set up house with great layout for families, clean and tidy, had to store ornaments due to being a little fragile around the kids, also strong breeze can slam doors which in turn made 1 or 2 of the pictures on the wall fall off but none of this detracted from a wonderful stay, thanks and would recommend.
Lovely house well decorated but dog hairs not good Positive: Location , veranda in bedroom with no one at rear Negative: Dog hairs everywhere really let the property down
This is a great find. Brilliant location for Whitby Golf course, Whitby town centre & Sandsend. It is also a short drive to beautiful villages up and down the coast such as Runswick Bay with its fabulaous beach, and Robin Hooods Bay with its quaint harbour and shops. The house is set in a quiet cul de sac with a private garden, which was great for our dogs. The living space and bedrooms were bigger in person than they looked on the photo's which was a nice surprise. Great host with good comminucation throughout. Would recomend and will stay here again.
This property was in a good location for Lidl, beach & local pub. Rooms are a good size & equipped with all that you need. Secure back garden meant we could let our dog outside knowing she was safe. However we did find upon arrival that the garden hadn't been cleared of dog faeces! View from balcony of master bedroom is lovely overlooking the golf course with the sea in the distance. The downside of the master bedroom was that the king size mattress was uncomfortable after a few nights. It was very firm & could possibly benefit from a mattress topper. Unfortunately the kitchen cooker was dirty the fridge had not been cleaned properly & patio doors in the lounge had dirty marks on the glass. Host & Stay didn't respond to all of our comments, even when we supplied photographs of dirty appliances etc. Cleaner turned up before we had checked out & sat waiting in his car on the drive. Make sure that you are aware of Host & Stay's admin fees etc before booking one of their properties.
The house was in a quiet location and was fabulous. There were lots of extras like a Nespresso machine with coffee pods, shampoo/conditioner sachets, throwovers, books etc. The house was spacious for 4 of us and 2 dogs. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was very clean. Very handy for walking to the beach (10 minutes) and walking into Whitby (another 20 minutes). We ordered a Chinese takeaway from Long King in Whitby, which was really good. Sneaton Castle in Whitby is a nice place for a meal. We went in the evening & the approach was lined with lights. We had a meal in the restaurant; the menu is really varied and the food was beautiful and reasonably priced & staff friendly. Lidl store 5-10 minutes walk from the house. Peasholm Park in Scarborough is oriental themed and really pleasant to walk around. It’s free to get in and dog friendly. It’s now out of season so unfortunately the on-site cafe was closed. Car parking nearby.
Excellent Property and Location. Positive: The property was excellent, clean, plenty of bathrooms, with a secure garden, fantastic worry free dog area. Bedding was crisp and white, towels were fluffy and plentiful. The parking was excellent, location perfect for going in to Whitby or down on to the beach to walk dogs. The location was quiet, outlook across the golf course perfect and as the property was at the end of a cul de sac, no passing traffic. Negative: No covers for settee to protect from dogs jumping on furniture when locked up at night. Ended up upturning furniture each night!
Lovely house. Plenty of space for the 6 of us and the dogs. Nice little walk to the centre of Whitby. Would definitely recommend.
Fabulous place, great location. Beach, Lidl and the White Horse pub all within walking distance. Clean, tidy, good communication from the hosts. Fantastic views overlooking the golf course where the rabbits and pheasants run free and the sea. Great enclosed garden for the dogs.
Fantastic break away in a gorgeous house Positive: There really wasn't anything not to like. Brand new build property. Clean, spacious and a great location. Great secure garden for dogs. 🥰🥰 Negative: Could have done with a hose in garden to wash sand off dogs. Not really a dislike, just would have made it easier cleaning dogs off. 😊😊
Lovely house. Well equipped. Quiet location with great views over the golf course.
Lovely house great location would recommend Positive: Highfield House had all you needed for a comfortable stay. Great view over looking Whiby golf course. About 25 minute stroll into Whitby main front with plenty of good food and bars. Local pub the White House about 5 minute walk served lovely food and staff very pleasant. Negative: Nothing
Perfect holiday home. Positive: A beautifully presented property with a high level of cleanliness. Situated perfectly to access the beach, golf course and the town. Definitely value for money.
Great space for 6-8 adults, lovely outdoor space overlooking golf course. Easy 10min walk from Sneaton Castle and access to the coastal path.
Great place and location for getting to Whitby. 30 minute walk with great fish restaurants etc. Golf course on doorstep and less than half a mile to a big supermarket.
A wonderful family group stay in a fabulous spacious house in Whitby. Positive: The location was amazing and was the reason we booked. Overlooking the links with views out to see from the bedrooms. Just 10-15 mins walk from the beachfront and easy reach of both Whitby centre and Sandsend. A great pub with good food nearby. Overall the accommodation was stylish, generous and well laid out. Facilities great and well equipped. Very comfortable for a large family group like ours. Negative: Nothing to not like.
We were very lucky with the weather so we were out most of the day. We did cook one evening but found the saucepan and f Positive: The location and cleanliness Negative: The lounge seating. We did not feel that this was comfortable for 6/8 people. A couple more armchairs are needed to replace the large pouffe and the coffee table next to the TV. This would mean that everyone could watch TV or sit together during the evening.
Really good bedroom size and enough space for 8 people downstairs. 30mins walk into Whitby and 40mins to Sandsend. Can get to beach in less than 10 mins.
Fantastic house in a fantastic location, great for large families. Great views from the balcony at the rear, of the countryside and the sea and cliffs to the right. Ideal for large families as there are multiple bathrooms with showers and a bath. Convenient location for walking into Whitby town or the sea front and beach. Would very happily stay there again!
Positive: The space was fantastic 👌 Each couple had their own bathroom. Enough room for 3 cars to park. 7mins walk to headland from house. Negative: Nothing
Positive: Excellent property that accomadated all our party very comfortably. Good location with parking for 3/4 cars Walkable distance to both Whitby and Sandsend. Good communication with host company prior to arrival and on departure. Negative: Nothing Have reported a few small maintenance issues
Great value for money short walk into whitby stunning views Positive: Clean comfortable modern well equip home Negative: Nothing
the house was perfect in every way for all we needed and a lovely location so quite and private. It was not far from the centre by car but then we found at the end of the last day a coast walk that wouldn't of taken long to walk as parking is expensive but there is a bus stop round the corner. Parking at the house is great enough for 3 cars, the garden is a nice size and the dogs just walked around the edge each night to make sure we was safe. I loved the kitchen the size was perfect and so tidy, you have everything you need in the house. we all loved our stay we was a family of 6 in the end because my niece ended up with chicken pots the day before we came bit it would easily fit us all in. the bedrooms where a nice size and in the end my kids had a room each. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay here for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary, we all loved it.
Good base for walking. Positive: The location was good for us. Good parking space. Very clean and tidy. Negative: Nothing.
We had a fantastic stay for a nearby family wedding. Everything was very clearly communicated and the house is lovely, new and clean! Would stay again in a heartbeat.
A brilliant house. We could walk into Whitby and the beach. The house was warm, comfortable and felt luxurious. Great parking. Hope to return.
Gorgeous well equipped house Positive: The room configuration was great, the facilities were all you could need and the location was very handy for town and access to local amenities. It had gorgeous views and a lovely walk along the coastal path was fantastic, really impressed with the bathrooms too, really well done out with a beautiful finish, we really enjoyed our stay and were impressed with the house. Negative: Host and stay are a frustrating company to manage bookings with. They insist on a verification confirmation and charge a non refundable damage waiver or a deposit with a fee attached. I reluctantly completed the verification after being told it was mandatory (this was not stated at the time of booking) and then was badgered by text and email every day sometimes twice or three times a day stating verification was not complete, I eventually dealt with a gent called Ryan who managed to sort this but the harassment by Host and stay was a joke. I'd also requested a high chair which was not provided, and have had these issues before with Host and stay, so gave up trying to engage further with them as honestly I was so frustrated with the company I couldn't deal with the hassle.
A return visit to Highfield house Positive: We returned to stay at Highfield House having stayed last year. We especially like the space and location. Negative: Nothing we didn’t like
Great place for lots of family to share Positive: The space was lovely and the view from the balcony Negative: There was no hand soap or hand towels in the bathrooms and no dishwasher tablets which would have been useful to know in advance
My visit to Whitby Positive: Ideal for the location to Whitby the house was very clean and spacious in a quiet area and a nice parking area I would recommend it and happily stay again Negative: Nothing l was very happy with my stay
We had a very nice stay. Sorry that we can’t book for next year. Positive: It was clean and suited our family very well. Negative: The garden was very small and there was a wasp nest. Obviously not the fault of the owner but difficult with 3 children and a dog in our party.
Great holiday house, clean, well equipt and great location. Positive: A lovely clean, well laid out and well equipt house. Great location. Was a large sitting area and also table area for eating and playing games. Large fridge for all our food (not that common). Good storage for all our stuff, beds very comfortable. Negative: Maybe an area in hallway to hang up coats and bags.
Beautiful house, highly recommend Positive: Amazing views, big rooms, plenty of room for a big family, quiet location. Nearest beach only 15 mins walk away. Lidl down the end of the road. Nearest pub 10 mins walk away. About 25 mins or short car ride to centre Big driveway plenty of space for two cars. My family really enjoyed it and said it's the best place they've ever stayed. Kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, and dining table big enough for 8 people to sit down together which is lovely. 3 bathrooms and 1wc which is great for a big family. Balcony and garden seating lovely. 3 hairdryers available. Had tea, coffee, sugar there so didn't have to buy any. Really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay again. Negative: There was an unusually large amount of wasps at the very end of the garden they kept near the flowers so this didn't affect our stay but might be worth the owners checking if there is a nest nearby. The garden was a lovely size though so this didn't affect our enjoyment of the garden and would not stop us staying again.
Very enjoyable stay with plenty of room. Positive: Great location, parking at the house, plenty of room, very quiet and great facilities. Negative: It was all good.
Highfield House - Highly Recommended Positive: A modern building offering a practical and very comfortable way of living. The location was brilliant and well placed for local amenities. Provisions were perfect and small attention to detail makes a big difference. A well managed property that comes highly recommended. Negative: Faultless.
great stay
A lovely property in a good location Positive: The location was great, the property was well equipped and in a very good condition for a rented out holiday property. All the bedrooms were well furnished and of a decent size and everything was clean. Negative: Nothing. If I had anything to suggest it would be that a kitchen roll be supplied to get people started as we didn’t think to take one.
Positive: Spacious rooms, lovely views across the golf course. Spacious parking for 2 cars. Negative: Blackout blinds not enough needed blackout curtains as well if there had been curtain poles I could have draped throws over them. The bed in the second double room is very firm and the pillows are too firm.
Overall we had a lovely stay. Positive: We did not have breakfast at the house but it was further out of Whitby than we thought. But this did not stop us enjoying our stay. Negative: Everything was great
This property is excellent and based in a quiet little culdisac. It was modern, spacious and clean Positive: Location was excellent and close to the centre of Whitby (5mins car journey) Negative: The house was spacious, clean and modern
Beautiful property Positive: Everything
lovely house exceptional clean modern and bright Positive: the house is stunning this is our second stay at this property Negative: nothing
We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location was fantastic, with easy access to the city centre, making it perfect for exploring. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The property was spotless, beautifully maintained and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could have possibly needed during our stay. We would absolutely recommend this accommodation to our friends and family and would happily stay here again in the future.
Positive: The house was spacious and everything we needed was supplied Negative: Nothing, everything was good
Very comfortable house in a convenient location being close to sandsend and whitby and a Lidl close by. This was our second time at highfield house and no doubt our last!
Excellent accommodation, nicely situated in walking distance to Whitby it self. Quiet area. Lovely house.
Positive: The view from balcony & sitting out on balcony first thing in the morning very peaceful. Very spacious bedroom + toilet on each floor very convenient. Negative: Not much choice in food shops near by
Very good Positive: Very clean and modern in a quiet area Negative: Check out seemed a bit early at 10 would have expected at least 11 so a bit rushed on departure day
We had a lovely stay, nice and quiet. Struggled with the key box.
We had a wonderful 1st visit to Whitby, great walks, great food, people sooo friendly, and the accommodation was the cherry on the cake, fantastic location, some wonderful touches in the house, we felt very much at home from the start. The style and interior design of the house is a credit to whose ever vision it was. Look forward to our next trip.
Fabulous Positive: The house was everything and more we could have asked for. Negative: Nothing it was perfect
Absolutely 💯 Positive: Self catering, stunning views, great location to beach and venue. Spacious rooms. Easy check in and out. Negative: There was nothing we didn't like. It was perfect.
Lovely air bnb in a convenient location near the beach and close to a supermarket. Well furnished and on a quiet road. Just what we needed.
Beautiful house, rubbish hosts. The house was spotlessly clean and newly decorated throughout, with well equipped kitchen. Only a 15 min walk to a lovely sandy beach. And about 30 min walk to town centre/pannet park. But it's run my a management co so every message is just replied to with an automated response. (So it's looks like a great response rate on Airbnb). Asked a question before arrival, no response. Hadn't heard anything about key code on arrival day so messaged but no response. Waited at the property for half hour before I found a number to ring and could get through to be let in. Had an issue with showers not working properly, messaged on 2nd day, no response from owners. On 4th day a plumber arrived unannounced, it was actually just the stop cock wasn't fully turned on (easy fix but you don't want to start messing with someone's plumbing) On our final day everyone could shower. It's a shame as this is a lovely house and great location but the bad communication let it down.
Positive: Very quiet location
Positive: Immaculate property in an excellent location. Lovely simple decor and stylish furniture. Beautiful views from the back. Negative: No tea towels or washing up liquid and not enough serving dishes. Small points but we at least expected tea towels to dry fragile items which we wouldn't put in the dishwasher.
Responsive host. Highlighted a couple of issues neither of which affected our stay but will need to be attended to. Host offered to sort during our stay but not major enough to require immediate attention. Nice spacious house in walking distance to Whitby and the beach.
Lovely stay Positive: We loved the location house was lovely and spacious well equipped and very clean hats off to housekeeping as I think they never get enough recognition for there hard work. Negative: There wasn't anything we didn't like
Enjoyable Stay Positive: 4 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms Clean facilities Very kind host (reachable and friendly) Proximity to beach and major attractions Negative: Weather was freezing. Of course this is not the fault of the property.
wonderful experience Positive: very clean & tidy. Negative: nothing
Fabulous house, amazing views. Good 30 minute walk into Whitby and it’s a beautiful place
Wonderful in every sense.
Beautiful house, well equipped and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
Very good short stay but actually parking the car not good because of the high kerbs. Positive: Highfield House is comfortable and was clean. All modern equipment and facilities. A bonus for holiday lettings was the addition of cleaning materials and condiments. Excellent showers and bathroom. Negative: Parking is at the front of the property but the kerbs are not lowered and the grids and inspection manholes are raised in the road leading up to the property.
We had a lovely week beds comfortable and everything you need
Really good size rooms and comfortable beds. convenient for beaches and central areas. of weather was good, we could hav Positive: spacious, clean and comfortable Negative: nothing to complain.
lovely property
Fabulous! Positive: Breakfast n/a. Location good
Lovely quiet place clean and modern Positive: Modern clean quiet everything we needed loved the balcony.. Negative: Difficult to find. Sat nav took us to wrong location. Found street by accident. Had to ask locals where it was they didn't know either. But they did put us in right direction in end.
Absolutely stunning holiday house, perfect in every way. Positive: Everything ❤️ spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished to a very high degree, well equipped, very comfortable, stunning views from the bedroom balcony, really comfy beds, private secure garden for our little dog and the grandchildren to play. absolutely perfect. Negative: Only little thing was no drop down kerb onto the driveway but realise it is a fairly new property and together with the raised manholes on the road this will probably be addressed in the future.
