We had a great stay at Harbour Holm with our 3 young children. Fantastic location for exploring the town, and lots of castles and beaches within good driving distance. The house itself was lovely - clean and comfortable with high chair, travel cot and games. We would stay again.

Lovely Positive: Spacious, light and well-equiped, comfortabele furniture. The children loved the many available games and dvd’s. We liked the big kitchen and coffee on the patio. Well situated with harbour/seasight from the first floor. The harbour of Amble is nice, we saw seals, puffins, sterns, and beautiful skies above river and Warwick castle. Negative: Although it was generally very clean and nice, there were a few details that can be improved. The shower was a bit weird, an electrical installation of which buttons and showerhead were not cleansed well (in sharp contrast to everything else!) - no problem: we used the handshower for of the bad instead, which was fine.

A great family stay at Harbour Holm. The house itself was clean, cosy & exceptionally well equipped, a great space to relax after a day of sightseeing in & around Amble. The location of the house is excellent, close to everything Amble has to offer & despite it being a busy place the parking is brilliant, right outside of the front door. Amble itself is a lovely place to visit with lots to do. A highlight for us was the Puffin Boat Trip & our own pod at the Fish Shack Restaurant, a fun, quirky idea. We also enjoyed the walk to Warkworth & the Castle. Amble is definitely worth a visit & Harbour Holm is a great place to stay!

A lovely property in a great location spoilt by the hosts constant promotion of paid extras Positive: The house was in a great location, near to restaurants, shops and the coast. The town is also great for accessing nearby attractions and walks. The property was spacious, clean and cosy. It had everything we needed for our stay. There was plenty of seating, an outside area and a large kitchen. The area was quiet, apart from the very regular chimes of the bells, and parking was easy. The property was easy to access and detailed instructions were given. Negative: The constant emails from the hosts - especially trying to sell us extras e.g. a personal chef, gin experience, check in early for an extra cost (not welcoming at all, we've never experienced this before at a rental property) and damage insurance. The realisation that as part of paying for the property we were liable for any damage (understandable), but they could automatically take money from us to pay for the damage. We had over the top messages about damage to the property and I felt stressed during the stay in case we accidently damaged something or that we might be blamed for some mark or previous breakage. I appreciate that some people don't treat properties with care but we are 2 couples in our 60's and 70's wanting a quiet stay. Made us feel unwelcome and wouldn't book again with this company as a result, despite the property being very suitable.

Harbour Holm gave us a lovely relaxing get away. It was immaculately clean, very tastefully furnished with lots of homely little extras. It was very well equipped and we will definitely return Andy and Joanna

We had a wonderful 3 day break. The location and area were fantastic. A great base to explore and walk the costal path. Buses were efficient and easy to use. It was great to come back to a beautiful warm appointed house. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. It had everything you would expect in a high quality holiday home. I would recommend it summer or winter and I hope to return at some point. Thank you Dale. Andrea

Great weekend stay at Dales place, excellent location in Amble easy walk to the harbour and town centre, also accessible for the bus route which we used to get to Alnwick and seahouses We loved the kitchen dining area were we cold relax on an evening all together!

As soon as we walked into Harbour Home. We felt at home. Lovely spacious house, cosy warm and warm. Loved having to comfortable rooms to relax in. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. So well equipped. The bedroom had the most comfortable king size bed. There was plenty of storage for all our clothes. The bathroom was light and airy. So great to see the sea in the distance first thing in the morning. Enjoyed the big bath for a great soak as well as an electric shower. Where the cottage was situated in Amble was perfect to walk to the shops, the lovely little retail pods and great restaurants. We bought amazing fresh fish on the harbour side when the boats had been able to get out. Soo good to be able to walk to the first beach within 10 mins and the second one about 15 mins. Amble was a great place to explore the coastline. And to have a lovely home to come back to at the end of a busy day was great. Looking forward to our next visit already.

A fabulous family adventure that ended too soon. Positive: The property was really lovely, well maintained, lots of space for a family. There was everything we needed there fir it to be like a home from home. The property was in a brilliant location in Amble Harbour, with lots of local amenities. The property was also a brilliant base to get to other places. We visited Edinburgh for the day by train from Alnmouth. Lilidori and Alnwick Gardens, Bamburgh and Seahouses. We even caught the local bus to Warkworth Castle and walked back. We also tried out the Ice Cream from the bottom of the road, the local chip shop and the Chinese which were all excellent. We bought some gifts from the Pods on the Harbour and went to the Market on Sunday. We would highly recommend the boat trip from the Amble boat trips, especially if you have children, because one of the highlights was definitely them seeing the lobster pots be pulled in and getting to hold a lobster. The crew were fantastic and there are only a handful of people on the tour so you had loads of opportunity to be involved. We also enjoyed seeing the seals. Negative: There wasn't anything we didn't like about the propety. Just to note, the neighbours can be a little possessive about the parking outside of the property, (which i do understand because they live on the street all the time). However, the pressure of parking with a very active audience can make it slightly more difficult.

The process of booking was so easy !! All the information was sent to me I didn’t need to ask anything !!Everything was as it stated ! We can’t wait to book again ! The house was amazing !! It had everything and more ! So beautiful! Thank you again

Perfect location at the heart of Amble. We had a lovely stay and look forward to returning in the future.

Well-appointed accommodation in a charming part of N.E. England. Positive: The accommodation was self-catering, and the facilities had everything one might reasonably expect. The kitchen was well-equipped and the furnishings clean and very comfortable. The property was centrally-located, but still felt like a quiet location, which we liked. All local amenities were just a short walk from the property - local shops and restaurants, the harbour, and the booths from which to book boat trips around Coquet Island (highly recommended!). A very nice base from which to explore the local area, which has a lot to offer. Negative: The property had been quite recently redecorated, we assumed, and one or two of the doors stuck a bit (unavoidably) as a result (bathroom and bedroom 1). Hopefully easy to remedy, as it would make night-time bathroom visits much quieter - a must for light sleepers!

Beautifully furnished and well equipped cottage in great location for exploring the area. Parking was easy as space outside house was always free when we returned. We were a party of 3 adults and were amazed with the amount of space downstairs; with a larger group the downside would be having only 1 bathroom. A supply of hand towels would also be useful. Very pleased that we chose Amble as our base. Didn’t have time for a boat trip this time but the puffin accessories in house were a lovely touch.

Lovely central holiday home in quaint Amble Positive: Great central location. Very well equipped and comfortable. Two large social areas so brilliant for a family or small groups. Free parking on street outside. Nice patio although we couldn't use as weather was dreadful. Only time we could have used was Sunday morning when the sun did make an appearance but we were told we had to leave at 10. Negative: Far too many up selling messages from the company who manages the property. Repeated warnings about charges if things got broken and encouraged a number of times to take out insurance. Not relaxing feel. Asked if any flex to stay a little later on check out as 10 on a Sunday feels so early. Told no as cleaners were due then when we actually returned to collect our car at 11.20 the house was still as we left it with no cleaners. That was a bit frustrating really.

this was a great find and a perfect house to explore amble and the surrounding areas. the house was spotless and the beds comfortable. we felt right at home. we would recommend 👍

We enjoyed our stay in the home for 3 days. The house had a homely feel and the kitchen area with the sofa was comfy as was the living room. Everything worked and the bathroom and bedrooms were clean. There were a few kitchen items that needed a wash before use but overall it was clean. The location is great and Amble is a lovely place to be based. Lovely beaches round about, big Morrisons for food shop and smaller shops close by. Plenty of places to eat and ice cream shop straight opposite is lovely! Only downside is the lack of another toilet but wasn’t a major issue for 3 days. Would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Once again another lovely stay.We did have an issue with shower leaking through electric light into kitchen.Wasnt sure they understood how dangerous this was when we reported it. Negative: Nothing.A lovely cottage.We do feel it needs a bit of update outside on patio area.Table very rusty and needs abit of upgrading outside.

The cottage was warm and welcoming, beautifully clean and very comfortable; we loved it. The area is very central but peaceful - bear in mind that the clock directly opposite chimes every quarter of an hour through the night, though! This is a really great place to stay - we would happily come back another time or recommend it to friends.

Lovely week away in Amble

Nice little place near the harbour. We visited the market and car boot sale just around the corner at the weekend.

Wonderful stay at Harbour Holm in Amble. Accommodation was lovely, clean and well stocked with all the things you might need. The only thing that would make it better is a second toilet, but otherwise, a really great property and location. We also could have done with an earlier check in, which couldn't be accommodated, but overall a fab place, responsive host and great stay 👍

We really enjoyed our stay at Harbour Holm and immediately felt at home. The property is lovely and homely, well equipped and thought out. It’s in a great location for exploring Northumberland and there are shops and restaurants on the doorstep. Everything felt very easy and relaxing. Thanks for a great stay. We would love to return at some point and will definitely be recommending to friends and family :)

Enjoyed our stay very much. Clean well furnished comfortable house and everything provided. Shower (over bath) was very good. Pleased to have wifi and TV and even DVDs and books for our use. Lovely location with several eateries nearby. Parking was on the street but right outside the house and Polite sign in window seemed to work so nobody else took space. No microwave but we didn't miss it.

A great little property in a superb location next to the harbour. Comfortable and roomy accommodation. Very good on all fronts.

We had a wonderful 4 nights in Harbour Holm. Location is excellent, close to harbour but still quiet and peaceful with all of the home from comforts described. We would definitely visit Amble and stay in Harbour Holm again

Lovely house clean tidy. Well equipped and well appointed to get around the local area.

Spacious well-equipped house in good location in Amble. It's a short walk to the seafront, where you can explore the shops and restaurants and observe the daily activities in the harbour - one of our party had the good fortune to observe dolphins from the boardwalk. A Tesco convenience store with a decent enough range is a couple of minutes walk away and there are other shops, restaurants and takeaways all on the doorstep. We all used public transport to get to Amble and the bus stop for the X18/20 from Newcastle (or Alnmouth in the other direction) is close to the property. There was a parking space outside the house, although we did not use it. All in all, it was an excellent property for four adults which eas easily accessible and very comfortable.

We all had a very comfortable enjoyable stay. First impressions were great clean and bigger than we were expecting. The house was well equipped and had good instructions on the use of appliances. Parking was no problem and the location was good, close to the harbour, shops and bus stop. Would recommend staying there to others.

Apologies for this slightly late review . We loved this house and found everything to be extremely clean and comfortable and spacious - very well equipped . The description and photos are accurate. Perfect position just a few yards from all of the restaurants and walks. We would be delighted to stay here again and loved Amble. Appreciated the Host’s beautiful home .

We love Amble, and always try to stay here. Positive: We have stayed in this property most years for the last 12 years. We love Amble, and this house is ideally located for everything. Negative: The kitchen set-up has always seemed odd. The pans are cheap and thin. There isn't enough basic cutlery, but there are too many other things, like plates and cheap pans. Also the shower is really poor.

The holiday home was beautiful, well equipped kitchen , lovely size really warm home , bedrooms were great, the only thing I’d say is change the bathroom window it needs to be a frosted glass ! As during the day you had to keep the blind down , apart from this it was lovely highly recommend.

Great stay at Harbour Holm. In the middle of town just near the square so really handy for pubs and restaurants. Parking no issue. Lovely house with everything you could think of (and some things you wouldn't have thought of).

Great location right on the harbour. Would highly recommend the Old Boathouse for fishy dinner. Lovely walk to and from Warkworth. All the locals super friendly and lots of space at the Airbnb
