Perfect home which the kids absolutely loved staying in, we slept really well and felt right at home.

Was meant to be our granddaughter's first holiday but had to be cut short as she was poorly. Positive: Good location as you step out of the front door and are virtually in the town centre. The en suite shower was good. Negative: The main bathroom shower could be better. A full length mirror in one of the bedrooms would be nice. People randomly walking through the back year. I know you can't control this but PARKING!!! It's a nightmare.

Was perfect for our needs for a mums and sons weekend exploring. Would definitely stay again. House bigger than anticipa Positive: Location, room space and proximity to the town. Negative: Slipped a few times on doormat as not stuck to floor and on a tiled surface! Needs a rubber backing to stick. Parking a bit of an issue as car park opposite was full and it was pouring down.

Good overall. House will be perfect if details I've listed are addressed. Positive: Location was great as we could walk everywhere easily. Well equipped overall. Obviously recently decorated. Lots of room in the lounge and the added bonus of a small room with a small sofa and a TV on the first floor which the grandchildren claimed as their den. I have listed a number of minor items that can be easily addressed to make the house perfect, however, I'd still recommend the house and would return. Negative: Overall the cleanliness was good, but I felt this was largely because the house was obviously recently refurbished/decorated. More attention to detail is needed. > A lot of cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom at low and high level > Very dusty on shelf beside the loo > Packet of vitamin drink mix and hairband on floor next to bedside table (smaller bedroom on first floor) so obviously not hoovered > Significant pile of mail 'dumped' on floor of kitchen cupboard and on windowsill in hall > Smelly and very dirty mop in kitchen cupboard > Approx. half a toilet roll in each of the 2 bathrooms (info said these were provided, luckily I took spares) > No bin liner in kitchen bin, and none available > Rear garden just concrete with weeds in areas. Weeding and maybe a few lights and a couple of pots would have made a real difference. > Only 4 or 5 pegs on line.

Excellent location, very comfy house and was a great place to stay with family. Positive: An excellent location and the house was comfy and had all you needed. Negative: The outside of the property and the windows looked dirty and on first arrival caused some panic over whether we had made the right choice in staying. The front door was also wide open when we arrived but no one in the property which did worry us.

One of the best properties I have stayed in at Whitby. Good Value, very clean, comfy and spacious. Definitely will retur Positive: It was clean, comfortable and spacious, with little extras eg Tea/coffee/washing up liquid/shower gel etc. The garden area was a bonus, and it was central. Negative: There was nothing not to like. Parking would have been a bonus, but hardly any properties in Whitby centre have parking.

Positive: Facilities good. Ideal location. Negative: Would have liked to have booked for the same time next year but the price as gone up by £321. We paid £559 for 3 nights for four of us and the price as gone up to £880 for next year which is out of our price range.

Very nice and a great location Positive: Location was excellent. It was spacious and warm. The beds were comfortable with clean sheets and towels. Negative: Shower in the first floor bathroom was a bit temperamental. Also only 1 toilet roll between 4 of us so we bought additional rolls and left them at the property. There was no washing up liquid and an empty box of dishwasher tablets which was disappointing.

We enjoyed it very central location Positive: Excellent central location. Nice and clean Negative: It had 3 bedrooms but the living space wasn't enough for 6 adults. The dining table could hardly fit the space for all 6 of us to sit around and there wasn't enough sofa space for 6

Positive: Location, living room, bedrooms, bed, bedding, 2 walk in showers, lots of space Negative: No TV in attic bedroom ( itinery says there is one) Lack of extra toilet paper in either bathroom Lack of washing up cloth Small amount of washing up liquid in bottle I know these are small niggles, but they do matter. Shower cubicles very small No caddy in shower to put shampoo etc TV difficult to find 'normal' channels...infact we couldn't!

Excellent location, easy to get everywhere. Spacious property and excellent facilities. Parked in Abbey car park and property was directly at bottom of slope. 5 minutes walk. Easier than parking in other car parks if ok with slopes/steps. Dropped bags off first then parked.

Positive: The house had everything you need for a home away from home. It was very clean and ,Omg , the beds were unbelievably comfy. It has a perfect location for all the attractions in Whitby. We will definitely use it again. There was 5 of us and the house was big enough to not feel squashed in. Negative: Nothing

Long weekend away Positive: Location of the house is right behind the popular street. Steps right outside the house for Whitby Abby. Location is super! House just the right size for 6 of us, everyone had their own space. Negative: None

OK but had annoyances Positive: Very comfortable beds/sofas Great location Negative: Lounge TV too small to read from sofas Parking a nightmare (admittedly this is Whitby in general) Main bathroom had a damp smell, black mould present in windows, lock was falling out of door Only a quarter of toilet roll supplied for the whole house. Not even one roll per bathroom. I expect to have to buy additional rolls but the first roll per bathroom should be included. Very irritating Only one front door key supplied (was problematic when one couple split off for a meal and the other couple went somewhere else)

Great location - will 100% be back! Positive: The location was amazing and really central. Loved the set up downstairs and the beds were super comfortable. All really clean. We will definitely be back! Negative: The outdoor area could do with a spruce, but the location is so so central that we didn't need to spend time outdoors at the property any way!

Close to shops and amenities Positive: Comfy beds, all kitchen appliances easy to use, customer service, open plan living, big bedrooms with large beds. Great large fridge and freezer, deep bath, close to the shops, easy to use central heating system, prompt fixing of shower. Negative: The barren Court yard, lacking shrubs, tired outdoor furniture. Front garden path flower boarder could have had some small shrubs in it to make it feel welcoming. Insufficient washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets, and hand washing liquid. A welcome pack with some basics e.g. bread, milk, biscuits always a lovely touch. Mirror in hallway, the ser if drawers in attic room for a dressing table with chair would have been more comfortable.

In an excellent location for shops and town centre. We liked the comfortable kingsize beds and good quality bedding. We also liked the good quality clean fresh towels and ample quantity of them.We would give the above 10/10. The house was spacious enough with 2 comfortable sofas. Downstairs in the living room and kitchen it had wooden flooring which seemed clean, no dust or bits but after walking around barefoot for just a few minutes our feet were black dirty! The flooring was in need of a good wash. We planned to just cook a couple of pizzas on our first night but were disappointed on opening the oven as it was really dirty and the baking trays we needed to use had burnt on food still on them. These are 2 things that could easily be put right and had they been we would have likely given you an excellent review however they certainly didnt ruin our stay there. The kitchen was well stocked for everything needed so such a pity about the oven and trays.We didnt use the outside space so i couldnt really comment on that. Overall it is a nice cottage and we did enjoy our stay. Unfortunately we could only get parked at the Abbey which was miles away as the property has no parking just like most of the properties in that area.

The bedrooms were great, beds very comfortable. Powerful shower in the ensuite. Fantastic location, great for central Whitby. Didn't spend too much time in the property, so can't provide anymore insightful information. Host was fantastic with communications and information!

Overall a lovely house with everything we needed for our group of 4. Positive: Really good location. Very short distance to shops restaurants and pier. The house had everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable. Would stay again.

Good location but it ends there. Positive: The location was very central (no on site parking however) The beds were comfortable and the bed linen clean. The top bedroom has blackout blinds and is quiet. Negative: The cleanliness was poor. As you walked up the garden, it was overgrown, there was a plant pot full of cigarette ends, the front door itself was filthy. There was lots of post and flyers behind the door. On the surface it appeared clean but the floor in the lounge and kitchen (wooden) was very dirty. There was no toilet roll, no bin bags. The complimentary biscuits were out of date. The house felt cool. We could not find any instructions on how to use heating or the hob. The hob is induction and we never got to use it at all it was completely baffling. There was no hand wash in the 2 bathrooms. The yard was dirty, there outside furniture was dirty. Every window has bird poo on. Windowsills were dusty. Cobwebs in corners. Rotting dead bird in the front garden Empty coffee jar on the outside furniture full of cigarettes end.

Positive: Perfect location, comfortable and fine for 6 people. Negative: Backyard needs a clean and spruce up to be useable, including the chairs and table. Toilet brushes need replacing.

Positive: It was situated perfectly and value for money and clean Negative: No toilet roll in main bathroom no cloths or sponges to clean dishes or cups also when sat outside in the courtyard having a few drinks smoking & talking was shouted at by a resident who then put a note through the letter box next morning saying we were disgraceful & threatened us with the police I have kept the note if you want me to send it to you other than that it was a lovely house would go there again

Fab location Positive: Brilliant location. Biscuits, teabags, coffee. 2 bathrooms. Spacious living area and lovely nicely finished rooms Negative: Not enough toilet rolls. Lighting in bedrooms a bit dim when getting ready. Back yard could be improved...swept and weeded. Showers are a bit 'tight' for larger people

Great location although no parking. We found some parking a little walk away. The house is well equipped. Beds were very comfortable and bedding and towels were really lovely quality.

Positive: The house was spacious with comfortable beds and it was very quite and right in the heart of Whitby. Would certainly stay here again. Negative: Just a few niggles. There were cobwebs in some celling areas,the top bedroom toilet seat was comming off. Just little touches like having dishwasher tablets,sponges and dish cloths and washing up liquid would of been helpful. The back yard need a sweep and tidy up but overall there was very little really to complain about other than a few issues.

Good location and comfortable - just get the wifi fixed! Positive: The house was clean and comfortable, only a few yards from the old part of Whitby. The beds were very comfortable. Although we ate out and only made cups of tea the kitchen seemed well equipped. Negative: Although wifi was offered in the notes it was a very erratic signal, which meant that we could not watch TV or use our tablets. As we don't spend a lot of time out in the evening this was very disappointing. I did have a messaged conversation with the owners about this but the problem was not resolved. I also suggest that a little attention to the yard space (geraniums in planters, a spot of paint on the walls?) would make a massive difference.

Negative: Back yard was not very inviting and garden furniture not enough for the amount of people or clean.

Fantastic location and property in the heart of Whitby let down slightly by a poor management company. Please read the small print before booking as they ask for an extortionate waver fee just a few days before check-in which is not made completely clear in the description as to what amount it is. This was despite paying in full. They were asking for a partly refundable £250 deposit which is a huge amount for anyone to stump up just before arriving. What I also didn’t like was that they hold your money and have sole discretion as to whether they give it back or not for any ‘damages’. Despite this, the property itself is wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone. When we arrived there was no toilet roll, cleaning sponges, dishwasher tablets, and regular tea so be prepared to bring your own as soon as you check-in.

Great little house, quiet location but still in the heart of Whitby. Positive: No breakfast but a perfect location with a fabulous cafe for breakfast 50 yards away! Negative: The weather !

I would defo stay again and recommend it to friends. Great place. Positive: Very clean and comfortable. Location great. Well equipped, good quality furnishings. Negative: No waste paper bin in bedroom. Could do with a shelf in the top en suite. A chair in the bedroom would have been nice for makeup etc. could do with two dishwasher tablets or some washing up liquid.

Great location and clean. Unfortunately there was no dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid dish cloth or bi bags. In the grand scheme of things it wasn’t an issue but we forgot to buy washing up liquid whilst out and then couldn’t clean the dishes.

We enjoyed our time at Whitby, and were mostly pleased with our accommodation. The townhouse is right in the mix of things, off of a busy street with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. The bedrooms and living spaces were comfortable. We had some difficulty with the kitchen; the stovetop was quite finicky, switching off during cooking, or not turning on at all. That was unfortunate as we did cook during our stay. We called Host & Stay for help and they were not very helpful, saying they would send someone to take a look and then never doing so. That was the main disappointment of ours for the space, when we called Host & Stay for help with the stovetop, and a request for some simple missing items (e.g. trashcans for the bathrooms), they did not send anyone. We also found parking difficult. The nearby lot was always full and so we had to park at the top of the hill, near the Abby, an arduous and inconvenient walk (though likely less problematic outside of the busy August holiday).

We had a lovely stay, despite the limited parking. Positive: The property was lovely. The location was perfect. The rooms were perfect. Negative: The only issue we had was the lack of on site parking. This curtailed the possibility of us going out for a few hours, because once we had secured a parking space at Church Street car park after a 90 minute wait after a long journey, we didn't want to give it up. If it had been raining on arrival and departure, transferring our belongings from and to the car would have been unpleasant. The additional cost of £9 per day was also not ideal. The lack of parking was not made clear when I initially booked the property.
