Lovely house within walking distance of Whitby centre will stay again.

Okay. Positive: Location Negative: Floors not swept properly or clean. Rug very slippy in lounge. One of our party slipped and fell.

The house is near everywhere & we can just go home for a quick rest or drop some things off & go again. It is a lot bigger than expected with 5 bedrooms. Host & Stay (Charlie) communicated all through our stay but wi-fi everywhere played up a bit plus we got busy exploring there’s so much to see & do in beautiful Whitby. Everything that we need is there with soap & shower gels & toilet papers provided. The dishwasher is convenient too as we did some cooking to save a bit & saved time with washing the pots & pans up. Co-op is the nearest for food shopping. We enjoyed visiting Whitby we love it so much & we love Gray St. as it made it more enjoyable & hassle-free. Thank you so much Host & Stay.

Positive: The beds were super comfy, lovely homely touches and a great location. It was nice to have drawers full of toys, games and puzzles Negative: The parking, we were under the impression that you would be able to get parked somewhere near but unfortunately it's a far busier area than we thought. We ended up parking in the long stay harbour car park which was actually very reasonably priced

Clean bedding and towels, and clean bathroom/toilets (but dirty toilet brush). Spacious rooms. Shower gel/soap provided. Two toilet rolls provided - not enough for 8 people for 6 days. Other than that, we were disappointed and disgusted. The drying rack was rusty - this was noted in another guest's review and clearly hasn't been resolved. Oven trays were black with dirt and rust. Oven itself was greasy and dirty, as was the kitchen floor. The kitchen stank of cat litter/damp. Inches of pet hairs in the living room, layers of dust, cobwebs everywhere, dirty fireplace - my husband spent a good hour cleaning the living room! Dirty unusable highchair. TV only showed itv so need to log onto Netflix etc. Garden chair broken - but garden smells so can't sit out (back alley dirty). Plants all dead. Travel cot broken - need own mattress. Breakages reported. Dead spider in bedroom drawer. Missing curtain in back of living room. WiFi appalling. The house needs deep cleaned top to bottom.

The location of this house is great - it's very central and has free on-street parking. The beds are all comfy and in good condition, as is the bathroom. If I was to rate the top 2 floors only I would give this a great rating. Sadly however there were several downsides to this house, mainly due to poor maintenance. The downstairs loo is unusable as the sliding door only shuts two-thirds so anyone using the loo is visible to the hallway. This was an issue when there is only one other bathroom for up to 10 guests. The kitchen really lets the house down - the bowls and plates were chipped, there were no tea towels, limited cutlery (8 forks) and the oven gloves were burnt and very dirty. The oven is old and so worn that the temperature dial for the main oven is no longer readable. The main bin for the property was overflowing so there was nowhere to leave our waste when the internal bin was full. Host and stay acknowledged the problems but took no steps to make changes during our stay.

Positive: The beds were very comfortable. Sheets nice and fresh. The bathroom was good and the shower was fine. Negative: The kitchen could do with an upgrade. It had the facilities in the kitchen but the units definitely need upgrading. I didn't like the toilet on the ground level as the door was very difficult to open and close.

Great location, 5 mins away from the harbour. Clean and plenty of space for 8 people. Toilet facilities especially the shower were excellent. Would recommend staying 100% if a large group

The street car parking could be a bit tricky, but we all managed to park in Gray Street eventually. The house was great, good amenities and the bedrooms were spacious. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The TV had few usable channels but we weren't there to watch TV! The walk into town was short with good amenities nearby. We had a happy stay, would recommend!

Great stay!

Nice place. Good table downstairs for board games. Could have done with more toilet roll and a few bits in the kitchen for cooking (e.g. salt and cooking oil) so you don’t need to purchase everything. Other than this though everything was good.

Location was good - close to nearby restaurants and attractions. Beds were good with sufficient pillows provided. Quiet neighbourhood. However, condition of the house seems to be in a bad state, e.g. quite a number of wooden panels on the floor were damaged. The house was also not thoroughly cleaned for us, e.g. some areas were dusty and dish drying rack was rusty - To be fair, upon contacting the host, they offered to clean it up the next day, but we rejected it as we were only left with 1 more night. Parking was also a challenge as it is a first-come-first-serve on-street parking.
