We had a lovely long weekend stay here. The location is excellent, close to many of Norfolk’s beautiful beaches and villages, which made exploring really easy. The shared pool and games room were fantastic and a real highlight, especially for entertaining the kids on a rainy day. The facilities are shared with six other properties on site, which is worth bearing in mind. The house itself was well furnished and comfortable. However, the quality of some of the finishing wasn’t great (e.g. exposed plaster scrim tape and messy caulking), and a few kitchen essentials were limited. For a property that accommodates eight people, there were only six bowls and cutlery sets, and just two dishwasher tablets provided, which felt a bit sparse. Check-in and check-out times were quite strict, and pool access is managed via a pre-booking system. Many slots were already booked by the time we arrived after the 4pm check-in, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re only staying for a short break. Overall,

We booked this cottage for a family celebration. We arrived on a very cold wintery evening, as soon as we stepped inside it felt warm and cosy. The whole cottage was clean, tidy and very well presented/equipped. The two double bedrooms were very welcoming and the indoor pool/games rooms were an added bonus! Be aware the house isn't in Houghton Saint Giles as per the title, but actually Toftrees Nr21. A wonderful time, the host answered my pre-stay queries very promptly, thanks for a brilliant stay.

A small place for two families and the communal pool and entertainment area very run down with no heating. \n\nGenerally ok, but not something we would not come back to due to location (too remote) and cleanliness of house - for example, there were still 40th birthday celebrations all over floor it needed a good clean and a good hoover.\n\nWe had a great time but I feel there is so much more on the area for the same of not cheaper cost

A lovely cottage and the pool and games room were brilliant for our family!

We had a great stay at Granary Barn. We were two families with young children - the pool and play room facilities are excellent and the Barn is a homely and comfortable place to be. It’s in a lovely setting overlooking horses which was a real hit with the kids.

We stayed at this lovely place, which had a massive enclosed garden - perfect for the kids to explore safely. However, our stay got off to a rocky start due to some logistical issues. The postcode provided didn't take us to the right location. We called Airbnb number that was provided and they directed us 1 hour away from the property . Eventually, we managed to get the correct directions and arrived at the property. Upon arrival, we noticed that none of the rooms had bed sheets or pillowcases, and there wasn't a clear way to report issues apart from calling, which we hesitated to do late at night. The 2nd-floor bedroom and bathroom were dusty with spider webs. On the plus side, the kitchen was well-equipped despite being small. Checking out was a bit of a struggle due to issues with the safety box - it took us 10 minutes to get the keys to fit properly.

Great time staying at The Granary Barn - clean, tidy, kids loved the swimming pool. House adequately equipped and well stocked. Would definitely come back! 😁 Only issue to be aware of is the location listed on the property link - The google maps link to Toftrees is correct, but Houghton St Giles and the NR22 6AG postcode is 6 miles away which did cause some confusion.

Fabulous place for families - pool and games room were a winner

We really liked staying here! There’s lots to do, the games room is a real added bonus and the pool is fun (however I should note the deep end is only 3ft3 deep and it only gets shallower at the other end :/ ). Suited our needs as a group of 7 adults, however I think it is more geared towards families with kids- so if that’s you I would definitely recommend! Would only suggest to the hosts that it could be a bit cleaner next time. Thanks again!

Great- would love to stay again! Positive: Good facilities with having the games rm and pool! Negative: The oven struggled to heat up adequately to cook pizza! The hob worked well and the smaller section of oven on right worked well.

We had a lovely stay at Granary Barn during the summer. House had four good sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. A peaceful garden next to a small field with horses in it which the kids appreciated. The swimming pool was a lovely addition, shared with other guests by signing up on a whiteboard in the games room. As well as the games room and washers and dryers. Very peaceful location and super helpful support from host and stay when I locked us all out one evening! Very close to Fakenham, and we also visited Wells Next the Sea (20mins), Norwich (50mins)

Lovely cottage, the communal swimming pool was great and a lovely addition to our break to relax and unwind with private booking for just our cottage once a day. Would definitely come back! 😊

We all had a great time and made many friends in the attached houses. Pool was great as we had three small children- warm and clean. We had a problem with the dishwasher not cleaning but it was quickly resolved. Definitely recommend as just half an hour to many beautiful beeches and shops.

We stayed at the Granary Barn in Canniston Halls. The halls is made up of around 6 houses all sharing the wider facilities of the pool and games room. The house was lovely and felt at home, it was peaceful and you couldn’t hear the neighbours and the rooms were spacious. It was lovely to look out onto the horses The games room was well equipped and great fun! The pool you could book when you’re there. They make it so it’s one slot per house per day so everyone can have a slot and an open swim 12-4 for all barns. Overall very impressed and a great stay. Would recommend!

Good location, clean house, and the swimming pool was easy to book and a huge win for the kids! Could use a couple more big non stick pans given it sleeps 8 but other than that, excellent.

A fantastic stay. The property was exactly what we were after and the shared pool and snooker table provided hours of entertainment between them at a fraction of the access cost for somewhere with them exclusively. highly recommended if a peaceful hideaway is what you're after.

Absolute fantastic stay at the granary barn !

We had an absolutely wonderful stay, the place was absolutely beautiful and it gave us a lovely little getaway! The pool was a great advantage and it definitely added to our stay. We enjoyed this so much and would definitely do it again. Thanks Host & Stay!!

We have family near so know the area well. Good place to stay, lovely house had all we needed. Great to have the pool and games room, easy to use and nice to be able to book private pool time. Really nice to have little outside table out the back too with view of the horses. Would recommend to anyone. FYI the post code is nr21 not nr31! Sat nav took us straight to it. Thank you
