Very unpleasant stay Positive: Great location Negative: The cottage is far too small, with a tiny kitchen area, the oven door has to be approached from the side to open it. The bed is located down steep stairs and only has room for a 4 foot bed, which is not really adequate for 2 average size adults. The tiny shower room is right next door to the bedroom, the room is damp due to a poor ventilation system and smells damp constantly which pervades into the bedroom.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful part of the country. Would definitely return to the area. Positive: The cottage is beautiful, well thought out, has all that you need as a couple. The quirky style is fun. Every little detail has been though of. Negative: The wi-fi wasn't fantastic and the lounge chairs weren't the most comfortable.

Absolutely perfect weekend hideaway! Positive: The cottage was absolutely gorgeous. Very clean and well designed with the little sofa just big enough for two people as well as the armchair. The bed was really comfy and the property felt very homely. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with items and instructions for all devices were clear and in depth. The smart TV was great to use and the location was very quiet but the pub, shop and cafe were no more than a 2 minute walk with electric car chargers and a regatta store too! I will definitely be visiting again!

Fabulous ! Positive: Very comfy little cottage, we stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the local area, tea shops, Derwent River walk and great local pubs. The cottage is decorated in a fab style and it felt home from home. Compact and well thought out, fair to say we loved it. Especially the little window looking down the street.

One up, one down in the Hope Valley Positive: Very close to Chatsworth House and within easy distance to Bakewell and some good walking. Clean and modern. Negative: The house is a little bit too small to be cooped up in during inclement weather and the mezzanine virtually unusable due to the ladder like stairs to reach it and the low roof.

Positive: Great location, easy access and street parking. Cosy and quirky cottage. Lovely decor and take pets which is great. Easy to walk to cafes and pubs. Negative: Key safe easy, but needed directing to find it at the back of the house. Access to back was up quite a steep slope - fine for us, but could be an issue for some guests and if weather conditions poor. Property is small (kitchen/bathroom) which is fine, just need to be aware.

Everything we needed in a good location Positive: Location and cosy Negative: A little small

Enjoyable Positive: Location very good. Excellent design of this small property. Negative: The so called mandatory 'Check in form' was not acceptable. This was simply an excuse to charge an extra fee after the full booking fee had all been paid. Withholding the key code because of this was totay unacceptable. If it was mandatory this should have been declared up front at the time of booking. In fact, it appeared that the hosts were not aware of this. TV was too high on wall - neck straining. A fan would have been helpful in the hot weather.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH! Negative: Infested with insects. Damp smell so strong it burned my lungs. Dirty. Host & Stay could not offer us alternative accommodation so we left and had to pay for accommodation elsewhere. They refused to refund even though we send photos and videos of the insect infestation. booking.com were useless and now our bank are chasing up the refund for us.

Bijou accommodation in a good location, great for solo traveller or a couple. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Positive: Good location, convenient for local walks and the train station at Grindleford for further afield. Tasteful furnishings. Negative: The kitchen lacked a microwave and a washing machine. Both would be tremendously useful. Vertical ladder to access upstairs gallery for none but the brave !

Really nice place for a short getaway in the Peaks. The cottage is nicely finished, comfortable, and has a lot of character.

Lovely stay in a cottage full of character Positive: Very unusual cottage full of character Negative: It’s quite tiny. They have made clever use of the space but it is small.

Heerlijk verblijf.

Unique and charming cottage Positive: Unique accommodation with high quality furnishings, well equipped with nice little extras like books, washing up liquid and a bin bag. Comfortable, cosy and charming. Would definitely recommend Negative: Bathroom was a bit small (a decent shower however) and nowhere to store clothes.

A lovely stay in a great house. Lots of character and well kitted out with everything we needed for a comfortably stay. Spotlessly clean. Very easy check-in/out. Sadly no nice pubs/restaurants in walking distance from the house, but very easy to travel to Baslow/Bakewell and surrounding places too with good choices of eateries and pubs.

Fabulous Positive: The cottage was absolutely charming. Very cosy and comfortable. We loved lighting the log fire in the evening and the bed was so comfortable. We loved it.

Positive: The host was very accommodating and very quick to reply to any queries no matter how small. Location was perfect with the local pub about a 1 minute walk away and the local shop and another pub 5 minutes. Perfect walks are from the doorstep. Perfect location, accomodation, facilities and host. Couldn't ask for more. Negative: Nothing, everything was just what you would want and ask for.
