Positive: Very comfortable and clean. Great location central to shops and bars. Negative: The stairs were a bit of putting. Very steep not ideal for anyone with disabilities.

Positive: Easy access and communication OK. Negative: Option for deposit costs you whichever you choose, extra hidden costs. Carpet upstairs had stains and,stairs are challenging mobility wise, very steep and loose carpet - trip hazard .

stayed x2 nights for work. Guisborough on my list as I wanted to see the abbey ruins Positive: clean and all facilities in place. carton of milk in the fridge on arrival was a nice touch. central location with Morrisons a stones throw away. Negative: the insurance deposit of £250 fand £10 non refundable fee.

The house has quite a quirky shape being on a slight corner between two regular houses. However the layout has been very well designed to make best use of the space. The two bedrooms each has a double bed and reasonable amount of storage. The stairs are very steep and narrow and those who aren't that fit will struggle especially since the bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen. The kitchen is small and narrow but reasonably well equipped, the bathroom is also good. We only used the back bedroom as a couple and 4 people may find the property quite confined. The front bedroom smelled very smoky. Parking outside the property is for resident permit but there is a car park opposite on Fountain St. However for those staying in Guisborough the best value is in Belmont View Care Home car park at £2 a day.

Would 100% stay again and would highly recommend. The staff are very attentive making the check in process very smooth. Positive: It was in a great location, close to the town centre where there are plenty of shops and pubs. It was a good size for two people and despite being in the town centre was in a quiet location. Very clean and had everything we required for our stay. The beds were comfy. Parking was easy with a car park across the road. The communication regarding booking, check in and check out was brilliant aswell. Negative: Only a minor thing was the front bedroom was quite bright in the mornings with the sun coming through the blinds, a curtain could be a good addition.

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Fountains Cottage. It was perfect for us and ticked all the boxes and more! We will def stay here again. Jacqueline

Great little place to stay while we were visiting for a family birthday. In walking distance of the venue. We will definitley book to stay again the next time we are visiting . The host was always responsive the house was clean and well equipped for our needs. In an ideal position in Guisborough

Guisborough is just outside the North Yorkshire Moors and is easily reached from the major routes. We visited during the August bank holiday and towns like Whitby were heaving but Guisborough was quiet. The house has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. It's very comfortable and well equipped. The High Street is 5 minutes away with pubs and cafés. Supermarkets are all represented. The owners kindly left us a few useful things to get us started. My only caution is that the stairs are very steep and narrow so wouldn't advise for anyone with mobility issues. We'll definitely come back!

Lovely place to stay! 2 Minutes walk from the town where there's plenty of shops and places to eat. The house was beautiful inside, very cosy and homely. Thanks for having me!

One of the beds was broken. It was clear that they had previously tried to fix it, however, there was two broken legs, 4 broken slats and the middle joist was snapped in half. I rang the number provided straight away and we was told that somebody could only come out the day later. The kitchen utensils and cupboards were dirty, stains in the cupboards and drawers. The rest of the house was relatively clean however the walls are desperate for a fresh coat of paint, lots of marks and chips on the walls and woodwork.

Stayed here twice now it’s always clean and tidy very cosy always feel at home also there’s lots of shop near by don’t have to walk far hope to see you again very soon

Overall met requirements needed for the weekend, good location, easy accessibility/ parking and comfy beds. House could do with a deep clean (surface level was fine) and a freshen up as lots of marks on the walls, woodwork and carpet.

the place was peaceful and great base for visiting family-we stayed for 3 nights- the bedrooms are upstairs ( they are double beds and felt too small for us so we had to sleep in one each) and the bathroom downstairs so did feel a little bit inconvenient having to navigate steep steps to use the loo in the middle of the night ( fortunately there is a handrail) - the shower door was only held on with one bracket so difficult to close door properly ( there was a repair kit for this in the bathroom) we reported on the first day but it was not seen to whilst we were there so Hopefully it has since been rectified for future guests- the space in the kitchen is very small so difficult to find counter space to cook properly and could not find oven gloves - overall I would say the space is clean and comfortable for a short stay but not really well equipped enough for a long stay

Awful! Positive: Good location Negative: The stairs are a death trap! Loose carpet, stairs far too steep. The house is super tiny. No washing machine. 1 hand towel for a weeks stay! Stains on Bedding and whole house NOT clean! Never again!

Lovely little cottage in a brilliant location

This was my first Airbnb experience and communication from first enquiry to arriving was prompt and friendly. The information about the property and surrounding area was excellent and the property was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. I would book it again.

We LOVED the excellent location but would look for something better equipped for our needs Positive: The location was perfect to walk to main street, shoos and tea rooms, and to visit family. Negative: The stairs were very steep and difficult to get luggage upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs It was inconvenient that we needed to go out for salt and paper, paper towel and toilet paper and that there was no egg flipper These things should be made available. Also the tv remote batteries were dead.

Amazing stay, Dale & the team are great hosts. Accommodating and accepting of many questions. Quiet area, with nice places around it to eat at. Less than 3 minute walk into the town centre so it’s not too far, but also far enough to not hear the noise during the nights! thanks.

The cottage is tiny but well-appointed. The bedrooms are a reasonable size and comfortable. The decor is pleasant and in perfect condition. The location is perfect - central and convenient. Our only slight concern was the steepness of the stairs: would not be navigable for someone very old or frail.

The location was great for us The bedding and linen was clean The carpets have got lots of marks on them Dust behind furniture Please could you take all the kitchen utensils back somewhere and put them in a dishwasher and also the oven needs a proper clean if this was done we’d be very happy to come back

Our stay at Fountains cottage, Guisborough, was ideal. The beds were so comfy. Only downside was that the stairs to the bedrooms were very steep. Not great for elderly or infirm. Everything else was fine. It was so handy for all amenities. There is a supermarket just around the corner. There are plenty eateries nearby and within walking distance. All I all a lovely stay

It was a nice and pleasant staying Positive: Although it is a small place, it has everything one needs to feel comfortable. The two bedrooms upstairs are nice and cosy. It is located in a quiet area very close to the shops.

The property is well located and we had no issues with parking during our stay. Unfortunately the property was quite a bit smaller than pictured. The stairs were extremely steep and generally, it felt quite run down. There were a lot of marks and scuffs on the walls and furniture. The properly was clean on the surface, but if you yourself like things to be clean, then I think you’ll find a few issues throughout. The bathroom felt particularly dirty. If we had only been staying for a night, it probably wouldn’t have been an issue. However, we stayed for three nights and by the second night we were ready to leave. We also asked the host to provide more than one toilet roll, and they never responded to our request. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Comfortable modern house Great location Positive: Very good location to town and all amenities carpark across road download the ringo app and pay parking or top it up, great little kiosk across road if you don't fancy cooking we used it for breakfast. Ok but over priced for quality and cleanliness Positive: The Location was great Negative: Floors very dirty, lots of broken things, no large glasses, carpet on stairs loose and dangerous, not sure of outside space at the back, the clothes airer was trashed!

Nice property and location, hosts need to chill out a bit and let you enjoy your stay. Positive: Nicely decorated, lovely location. Cheap parking. Negative: No bin, strange entrance / lobby space that could’ve been better used - the furniture in this lobby space also felt incredibly weak. The hosts were a nuisance, far too communicative with several messages throughout our stay.

The cottage is in a great location for exploring the area. It is in easy walking distance of supermarkets and the local town so very convenient.

We were impressed with the cleanliness and comfort of the space. It is exactly as described. The team were very responsive and we had no issues at all. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean and well located place to stay.

Very nice, but some drawbacks Positive: Overall a very well-kept small house. Negative: I was unhappy that the £250 deposit was actually taken out of my bank rather than being "held" (as most hotels can do these days), and then not refunded for 14 days; also that a £10 "administration fee" was taken which had not been mentioned before booking. As others have commented, the staircase is rather steep and narrow: particularly a problem in the night as the only toilet is downstairs.

lovely bright, modern, clean property - booking agent less than brilliant. Positive: Great location, really clean, modern, tastefully decorated Negative: Only really minor niggles, like the only bin in a 2 bed house was a tiny, weeny bin in the bathroom, nothing in the kitchen at all. The double beds were really small, so fabulous for one person, a real squeeze for 2, but our issue was the booking company, who threatened to cancel the booking (we'd paid in full at the time of booking), hounded us with at least 2 emails a day, then never did send the code for the locked key box, despite 2 conversations with customer services prior to arrival, where they apologised for the cancellation threats (which apparently shouldn't have been sent), promised we'd still get all the details for access, then never did. I would book this property, but only through a different agent. Booking.com, you suck.

Positive: Property was clean and reasonably well equipped. Beds were comfortable. Negative: Kitchen is more of a kitchenette, even preparing basic meals was problematic in the space, but they have done as much as could be expected given the limited space.

Overall it suited our needs but wold not stay in that particular property again. Positive: Breakfast n/a. The unit was modern and well kept. The parking across the road was easily accessable. Negative: As we are older we found the stairs intimidating. Very steep and narrow tread. As we could not get our suitcase up the stairs we lived on the ground floor and only climbed the stairs to sleep. Might need to warn people of the steep stairs. The carpet tread was loose at the bottom of the stairs.

Handy location. Compact but comfortable for short stay. Well equipped given the space but limited for preparing a meal.

Loved it. Will be back! Positive: Good location, cheap parking. The rooms are clean and the property looks recently refurbished. It's central to Guisborough High Street but not noisy at all. There's a small cafe selling good food and coffee about 30 metres from the property. There's also good selection of pubs/micropubs/restaurants within a very short walk of the property. Bathroom and kitchen are particularly nice and the milk/coffee/shower gel were appreciated. Towels were included. WiFi is provided and is pretty fast. Negative: There's very little that could be improved.

Positive: The location was great, nestled in a gorgeous town and with access to local supermarkets only a few minutes walk away. The beds were so comfy and it was perfect for two people. The TV was also great and the sofa was very comfy. Negative: We loved the place but the cutlery and plates were not clean and we had to wash them before use which was a bit disappointing considering the rest of the cottage was quite clean.

Great place to stay if visiting the area. Was visiting family in Guisborough and booked this cottage for the weekend. Very clean and less than 2min walk to Guisborough village itself. Definitely recommend and will book again.

Great place with shops close by. I would come again if there was a better handrail! Positive: Great location, very clean and modern. beds very comfortable and loved the sun first thing in the morning streaming through the front windows. Good kitchen facilities. Negative: The stairs were steep and not much to hang onto at the top. Not easy. Needs a shower tray in the shower as no where to put shampoo etc. TV too high on the wall; had to look up to see it so not great on our necks. Strange no recycling of rubbish.

Overall a nice stay. A clean, modern interior, and the beds were comfy. A small number of maintenance jobs needed doing, but I imagine they'll be done soon. Parking was a bit tricky for us, but we coped. Nearby pub has a music licence, so bear that in mind if you like an early night. However, for convenience of local cafes, bars and restaurants, and as a hub for the north east it was pretty good.

Great communication, as described, would use again

Exceptionally clean and well appointed accommodation handily sited in Guisborough for use as a base for exploring the surrounding countryside and coast. The downsides are the steep staircase to the two bedrooms , the downstairs loo and bathroom and a general narrowness to the property that might cause problems for people with eating disorders etc. In our case, not a problem. We would definitely stay here again. Parking is free between 1800 and 0800 in the handy car park opposite and is £4 all day otherwise. You can park for free in the adjacent Morrison’s between 0800 and 1000 (2 hour max) We managed to juggle parking at zero cost be warned, Guisborough is the parking unfriendly place we have encountered in many years

Cottage is rather compact, but very centrally located. Parking wasn’t the problem we expected, as free from 6pm to 8am and then two free hours taking you to 10am, so if you are out all day, as we were, not really an issue. Cottage was very clean and clearly, recently done. Furnishings, bedlinen etc all very good. Slightly odd layout, but as a place to sleep and shower, it was fine. If you plan to self- cater, the kitchen is very tiny with no storage and limited workspace, so not ideal for more than doing breakfast and heating something up. We were a bit disappointed that Guisborough didn’t have more restaurants and pubs serving food. However, Cookfellas on Church St was very good.

Cosy house in a lovely town! We stayed here for a wedding nearby and it was perfect. The house is compact but has everything you need and the decor is really lovely. The beds were very comfy! Car park opposite is very handy and was really quiet the whole time we were there.

Lovely last minute find. Great location for exploring North Yorkshire, with local amenities and a big supermarket in walking distance. House is compact, and the stairs are very steep but has been decorated to a high standard and had everything you need for a pleasant stay. Communication was great and directions/access to the property via the key box was straight forward. Parking was £4 per day for 24hours in the small car park opposite the house (free between 6pm and 8am). Would recommend.

We loved our stay! Warm and cosy! Quiet road and really comfy beds! Nice size kitchen and clean bathroom. We will be staying there again!
