We had the best stay and didn't want to leave. Easy reach of town centre 5-10mins walk, enjoyed finding the different pathways down through the backstreets and steps. Flora is spacious and really private for everyone staying. I stayed with two of my adult children and we were able to socialise but also retire into separate spaces when ever we wanted too. We asked for the bed settee in the second lounge which gave us three sleeping areas. If you are staying with your dog its also convenient to have the ground floor as you also have the outside area which is a real advantage. I took our little frenchies feeding bowls but we were happy to discover feeding bowls were provided by the host. The car parking space is a godsend at Flora as parking at the front and side of the property is first come first served and gave us another advantage. Flora was a great experience we wouldn't hesitate to book again! Short drive for an early morning swim and dog walk to Sandsend a bonus too!

Extremely well located apartment . 5 mins from town and from the sea but quiet . Extremely spacious ! Ideal with kids as they even have their own tv and lounge !

We had an absolutely wonderful time during half-term! The location was spot-on for us. It was just a 5-10 minute stroll to the beach or town, and there’s a lovely park right across the street. (Note: dogs aren’t allowed, but there are plenty of spots to take your furry friend for a walk.) The kids had a blast at the play park there. The ground floor flat was very stylish and nicely decorated. There’s also a car park spot at the back, which is a real plus. We’ll definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay in Whitby! The property was ideally situated for our family, with a beautiful park and museum directly across the road. All the information from the host was clear and helpful, and Charlie from Host & Stay was extremely responsive. There were a few little things we noticed - a loose nail on a chair, a dirty saucepan in the cupboard - which we reported and we're assured were passed on the the cleaning and maintenance team.

Clean, spacious, well equipped and lovely location. Positive: The apartment was spotlessly clean, spacious and had all the facilities you need for a short stay. The location was great, parking was available on a nearby street and it was close to the lovely Pannet park. We would definitely stay again as family of 4 and a dog. Negative: No hair dryer, but everything else was great! The hosts had thought of everything!.

Location great, venue poor. Positive: The location, it was perfectly situated to access all whitby has to offer. Negative: Building dirty with cobwebs and dust everywhere. The toilet seats were hanging off and wall peeling in the bathroom. No frying pan and insufficient towels for a family of four staying 3 nights. Hidden insurance charge of £25.

Great place to stay. Positive: The apartment was very spacious, clean and kitted out to a high standard. There was a little room with a TV next to where the kids slept which they loved. It was a perfect locatin, just a short 5 minute stroll into the town centre. And we managed to park right outside for free. Would definitely stay there again. Negative: There nothing about our stay here not to like.

Great location, spacious accommodation however some areas of the accommodation need attention Positive: The location Spacious accommodation King bed very comfortable Yard/stoned area for the dog Parking space out the back Negative: Sofas were comfortable but the seating cushions were tired( stained) and could really do with a vacuum, full of crumbs and hair There was quite alot of cob webs around the ceiling areas and thick dust on skirting boards Lack of side tables to put drinks on, had to put things on the floor which was not ideal and just waiting to be kicked over Lack of crockery, just 4 mugs & 4 bowls and a mis-match of everything else. Had to hand wash as not enough to fill dishwasher. Some sort of multi surface cleaner would have been nice too

This was such a lovely place. Perfect for parking and just being enough out of town to not have to tackle the teeny streets. The apartment was gorgeous for the 4 of us and our pup. I can not wait to stay again 😍

Lovely base for our stay - 10 mins walk to either the harbour or West Cliff. Nicely furnished and clean. Dog friendly and parking which are major pluses for Whitby.

Had a 2 night stay at Flora in Whitby and it was a lovely, nicely decorated, clean ground floor apartment, exactly as the photos show. Plenty of room for the 3 of us and the dog. Perfect location for a walk into Whitby. Would highly recommend.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay at Flora apart from the windows situation. Just a couple of things to mention also no m Positive: The location was perfect and that it was pet friendly. Negative: Couldn’t open the windows they were bolted down. The weekend was very hot when we stayed which made it uncomfortable for us to stay on the apartment. Numerous messages were sent to staff but nothing was resolved

We had a lovely stay for 2 nights here with our 6 month old, and dog. It is well located for a 10min walk into the centre of Whitby. The decor is nice, and effort has been made to keep it modern - the bathrooms and new-ish kitchen space were great. Although, we couldn’t get the hobs to turn on unfortunately. However, I felt the place could do with a good general dust, and the furniture was on the tired side. For example, the sofa cushions no longer fit properly on the sofa making it uncomfortable to sit on. It would have also been great to have a side table of coffee table in the living area. We did appreciate it being dog friendly! The heating was easy to navigate but found the living room remained quite cold, but the main bedroom overheated which was a bit of a pain with a small baby. Overall, the place is ok for a few nights stay but I wouldn’t want to stay longer due to some impracticalities of the place.

Great location. Very warm cozy apartment. We had a couple of small issues but they were addressed within 10 mins. Great base to explore Whitby. We shall definitely return. Highly recommend, great value .

Great first impression of the house, lovely Victorian style building with big, comfortable rooms. The location was fantastic, the main shops and harbour area are literally a 10 minute downhill walk (but a good 20 minutes back up! Whitby is a collection of very steep hills, so be prepared for a good workout) Parking at the site is tricky, there is one space at the rear of the building but you cant use the back door. If you have to use street parking, spaces are at a premium but you can usually find one reasonably close by. Facilities at the house are good, the kitchen is clean and well equipped, the bathrooms are clean and the showers very good. Both bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space should you need it and both bedrooms have a decent TV. All in all, a very nice place to stay and Whitby itself is a fabulous place to visit.

Ok, could be amazing if more attention paid to the smaller things. Positive: Great location. Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Negative: Dusty and cobwebs in the apartment. A beer can filled with cigarette butts on the table outside. The carpet in the bedroom a bit dirty. The sofas are well worn and are uncomfortable to relax on.

We had a wonderful stay at Flora, apartment a great size and perfect location. However we found that a few small gestures were definitely missing, the tea and coffee pots were left empty on arrival, no welcome milk or token gesture etc, no hair dryer which I've never seen in an air BnB before! We also issues with the tap and then had a burst tap, no one actually came on the day we reported it which was a shame and meant we could not use the kitchen sink for one of the days. We would definitely come back but I feel these small changes would make Flora a 5 star!

I have not enjoyed the experience with Host & Stay, which is a company rather than dealing with the owner. A very impersonal service. From the start, Host & Stay emphasise that you should report any damage to the property or furnishing. If not, you will be charged for fixing or replacing. So you feel nervous and obliged to do a full inventory. I reported many things - locks to sash windows were broken (someone could easily climb in from outside), kitchen tap falling off, toilet flusher handle missing, tea/coffee/sugar not topped up. When I made these complaints, I just received what seemed like an artificial intelligence response, saying: "We are really sorry blah blah ... Host & Stay always strive to make your stay comfortable blah blah ... shall we arrange maintenence..." I didn't want maintenence around during my short 2-night stay but I hope they fix everything for the next holiday-makers. Poor experience, lack of personal touch by Host & Stay. Give me a real person any day.

A good property which requires a bit of maintenance. Positive: Location and spaciousness Negative: Broken tap in kitchen, no hot water in second bathroom, sheets well past their useby date in master bedroom, broken toilet seat in second bathroom, no sponge in kitchen for washing up.

Lovely apartment within easy walking distance (although hilly ) of the harbour, shops and restaurants etc. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Parking for one car at the rear of the property very useful.

Beautiful apartment, well styled and decorated and very smart. Was a bit dusty in places but didn’t really bother us! Has everything there you need for a short getaway by the sea, great location for those who like to be out and about and don’t mind a walk!

The property was not very clean. Struggled to get the windows open. Complained and no response.

A perfect place to stay in fantastic Whitby.

We loved the location, the beds were fabulous, it was warm. We could have done with coat hooks in the hall as there was no where to hang coats/ jackets, minor niggle along with the cobwebs!

Stayed for two nights at Flora & found it to be exactly as described. Conveniently located with the bonus of off street parking, we had no reason to use the car whilst there. But the stand out features of our stay was the property. Although set in a large Victorian house, the apartment was warm & cosy and had been renovated to a very high standard but with many additional modern features - at times it felt more like a boutique hotel room. Great communication with the host & highly recommended, thank you.

I always leave 5* reviews, except this time. I found dealing with host and stay very stressful from the second you book you're locked into an uncancellable arrangement where they try and get another £25 off you and sign up to extra rules outside of Airbnb. I felt like I was being taken for a ride, with long messages during my stay about accidental damage and check out times and possible extra charges. I paid £60 for cleaning, but had to strip the beds and stack the dishes back in the cupboards before leaving by 10. The flat was not that clean, no salt in the grinder, no oven gloves, collander, grater, but it was the communication which was mostly excessive rules and reasons to charge extra that really grated. I couldn't relax. I am surprised Airbnb allows this behaviour.

We had a great stay at Flora over the weekend. The apartment was well equipped with beautiful, modern facilities to cater to all guests. Great location with a short 5 minute walk into the centre. Will definitely stay again xx

Fantastic Positive: Great location, parking was easy and very nicely decorated. Negative: High winds against the main bedroom windows kept us up at night.

Apartment and location good The location to Whitby Town is good. The apartment was nice, it was clean, but several cobwebs, but having used the Henry I can understand the struggle to keep clean and definitely needs replacing and so did the mop! However, this did not spoil my stay. My only problem was the WiFi, which I gave up with in the end, but thank you Charlie for all your help.

Good value, nice property, good location and would recommend. Positive: Interior furniture and space was great. Negative: Toilet at rear of property has a poor flush, loose handle and loose seat.

Enjoyed the stay despite the things mentioned below. If they were resolved no issue with giving a 10 Positive: Location was excellent. Apartment was a good size Negative: Lacked a frying pan and a tin opener 🙂. Personal preference would have been to have had the beds in the second bedroom in the extension with the French doors. Second toilet and shower room had paint peeling off the walls (presumably incorrect paint used) and dust/cobweb in the (floor) corner looked to have been there ages

Good location, just take few minutes by car can go to the Whitby beach and city centre, and Positive: Spacious ,tidy and good location Negative: No hair dry,and also the toilet ventilation seem not good, after take a bath,the toilet area will become wet.

Beautifully furnished apartment in a fantastic location in Whitby. Positive: The apartment was large and very well presented: clean and decorated lovely. There was a lot of room for the four of us and the two bathrooms were a huge bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were nice too. The hosts were great, in contact a lot, and the digital information booklet was VERY helpful. We knew what to expect before we got there. Also, the heat system was very good, came on when you needed a little boost. It was very easy to access with the lockbox as well. Plus, the location was fantastic. Super easy to walk into Whitby, only about 10 mins to get to the heart of town. Negative: There wasn't much to not like about the flat. The only tiny thing is we realised we forgot our hairdryer and it would have been extra great if there was one in the apartment, but it wasn't listed on the list of amenities so it's not really a bad thing there wasn't one.

Positive: There was no breakfast. Negative: Please see my comments on Trip Advisor regarding this stay.

Really enjoyable Positive: The location was excellent for Whitby Town & the harbour, and also for easy access to the main road out of Whitby. The property was lovely - very spacious, very clean and very well equipped. Negative: The only (minor) downsides were lack of access to the WiFi - despite being given updated details it wouldn't let us access the router; and the property was somewhat chilly on arrival as the thermostat was left at 13 - but that was easy to turn up and it didn't take long to warm up the property.
