Positive: The location was superb with on site parking, the facilities in the property were excellent. Negative: Our only niggle was a lingering smell of dogs due to to the property being dog friendly and clearly animals had been allowed on the furniture.

Positive: Superb venue, everything needed close by. Comfortable, well furnished house with a useful enclosed area for our pooch. Thoroughly recommended. Negative: Nothing really. Anyone unsteady on their feet might struggle with the short, steep approach to the house so perhaps not ideal for the elderly. A car negates that, however, and the location more than makes up for the slope.

Lovely stay, beautiful location. House had everything we needed. Dog friendly. Clean and tidy. Would definitely stay again!

Positive: Excellent location, drive way/ parking. If you have a large car,like us,it was tricky. Negative: As soon as we opened the door, the smell hit us, damp dog. It took us nearly the whole week to make the property smell fresh. The cleaners didn't do a good job, dirt on the work surface, damp & dirty dish cloth & tea towel left under the sink, dirty plates put back in the drawer. Only 1 black bag & 2 dishwasher tablets, which for a weeks stay is not enough. Shower downstairs hot/cold settings are very fine, also if you're in the main bedroom, the pump noise is awful. Take everything, apart from salt/pepper, there is nothing provided. Main bed very uncomfortable.

100% would stay here again! Great location right near the centre of Whitby but tucked away so is nice and quiet. The parking driveway was ideal especially cz you usually have to pay for parking in Whitby. The place was perfect - we had our dog with us too and so garden was great and secure for them as well. Comfortably fit 4 adults too 🙌

Property was in a great location and was exactly as described, with lots of facilities. It's really close to town centre. It was ok for our 3 dogs. Parking was good. Views of Abbey and steam trains were a bonus!. Good value.

Clean and tidy. Plenty of kitchen ware to use. It was spacious and had a nice modern kitchen and very clean bathroom ensuite etc. Fabulous location, just a short walk from the town, harbour and beach (walkable even laden with beach chairs and bucket and spades (o:).

We booked as a last minute family trip with the dog. the house was clean but we didn't get lockbox instructions from the host company, so we had to message and call twice to sort that. the house was clean and exactly like pictured and super close to everything! the perfect location. The second 'living room' had a sofa bed in it so it definitely could accommodate up to 6 people! The only gripes were that the WiFi code didn't work, but we coped for the one night, and that after you pay everything, you can't actually stay until you pay a hidden damage waiver! I'm not a fan of hidden costs!! Would definitely stay again for the location though, but with eyes wide open this time!

Nice, clean place - lots of room for family and friends

Great accommodation ideal for a holiday in Whitby Positive: This house had plenty of space and had everything we needed for our week-long stay. The location is great - near the harbour and shops and close to the Co-op and railway station. We liked that it had two bathrooms and spacios accommodation including a great outdoor area. There were lovely views from the property. Negative: There was a short, fairly steep private road to access the property.

Good stay, thought price was a little over budget especially with checkin not being until 4pm and check out at 10 mean not even 24 hours in property, but did book last minute, so didn’t mind paying price at the time. Property was really clean, feel the furniture in sitting room could do with an up date, as did not match the more Modern aspects of the house, also thought it smelt a little ‘ old fashioned’. Found double mattress not comfortable as really hard and springy, but just one nights stay so didn’t mind. Really easy check in, hosts amazing, really attentive and communication was great. Over all a good stay.

This is not a bungalow as the two bedrooms are upstairs. The property is also at the top of a very steep road and our 87 year old mum really struggled to get up and down from the road. The beds are old and uncomfortable and the furniture and decor is dated. There seems to be an issue between the owner and neighbours over the height of the decking which means when you exit through the patio doors and look out over to the abbey, there is no alternative but to look out over their garden. We only used the decking area once as we found the neighbours filming us from their bedroom window. When asked why they said they were sick of people looking at their garden. It made us very uncomfortable. The TV Freeview did not work and the WiFi code is incorrect. The only positive about this property is it's close proximity to the town.

The property was just as described, and communication was excellent, replies within a short space of time. The home is just behind the train station and has parking for 2 cars, an absolute bonus in Whitby. It is pet friendly and my granddaughter took her two dogs, lovely enclosed garden too. The home was clean with linen and towels provided. The kitchen had everything you would need for your holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, 2 couples and two dogs, really recommend.

Fantastic location 2 minutes walk from whitby harbor. Perfect for a family holiday. We will absolutely be visiting again.

Our whitby trip. Positive: The house was clean, with plenty of room for the five of us, close to the town and harbour. Whitby is a lovely place to visit, with plenty of shops down old cobbled streets and alleyways. Negative: A hand towel each would have been good, and a welcome book, with information on the heating and other appliances in the property would be helpful for future holidaymakers.

Fantastic location, we left the car on the drive throughout our stay as you are right on the doorstep of whitby! The location is brilliant, you wont be dissapointed. The bungalow had everything we needed, and more than enough space for a family of four and our energetic dog. Really enjoyable stay and great communication from the owners.

Whitby was fabulous with resturants galore for us foodies ! Positive: Location was great Negative: Curtains in the front bedroom need to be thicker ! Property opposite security light kept us awake (on/off) House next door dragging bin or barbecue when we were in bed ! Baking trays needed and proper grill pan ! Was surprised that the duvet cover in the bedroom with the onsuite had a hole in it !!!!!

We had a great stay at Farthings. The house was exactly as described with the location being superb for us. The large drive is a real bonus as we had 2 cars and parking can be tricky in Whitby. The house was spotless and the beds very comfortable. The bedrooms themselves are spacious with lots of storage. Thank you for hosting, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Excellent location with great facilities. Positive: The location was amazing. It had a washing machine, good freezer space, spacious, off road parking and internet access. The area was quiet despite the centre being busy and within the easy walking distance. Negative: The double bed could do with a new mattress but it wasn’t too uncomfortable and it was clean. The television was unable to play usual TV channels, fortunately we have Netflix so it wasn’t too much of an issue. Over communication from host and stay was very off putting - too many emails. I found this overwhelming. Having said this, we would definitely return.

Great location Positive: Location and parking Negative: Cobwebs in most corners of house , hot water boost system was difficult , never enough hot water even to wash up. Live tv was n lg channels and took about hour to find normal tv channels . That needs monitoring . Extractor fan blows cold doesn’t suck . Conservatory leaks and smells . Smoke alarms don’t appear to work when cooking without extractor gets very Smokey . The mattresses were uncomfortable . Furniture very dated . Apart from all that it’s our second time and I will tow again because the pros out way the cons but with some updates it would be fantastic .

Excellent location. The place was comfortable and spacious. The review would have been higher but for the bedroom radiator not working. We reported it and got an immediate response but no-one came to fix it. The rest of the house was warm and cosy but the bedroom was really cold.

We stayed at Farthings for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The bungalow was lovely and had everything you would need. The beds were very comfortable and the downstairs bathroom had a huge shower and a bath. The location was great as you walk round the corner and you are in the centre of Whitby. Would definitely book again.

A great base for Whitby and the surrounding area. Positive: If you want to be in the centre of Whitby, this is the one for you! While it seemed to be up a bit of a back street, it was really handy for all Whitby had to offer and also for bus stops and the train station (as well as the Coop for the odd bit of shopping). Parking for up to 3 cars was very handy too. Negative: It's really much as advertised, so not much to complain about!

Fabulous Farthings Positive: Loved the location - the bungalow was very comfy with excellent outdoor space. The view from the patio is fabulous. Negative: No wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom and could use a large mirror in there as well.

Farthings is in a great location in the heart of Whitby. It is very well equipped and very comfortable.

The accommodation inside was spacious and tidy. The kitchen had everything we needed during our stay but the hot water needs a warning notice as I scolded my hand it comes through very quickly, maybe that’s why the sink wasn’t used and the bowl very stained. The lounge area was lovely especially with the decking area through the French doors when the sun was shining in the morning. Outside patio needed a sweep and tidy up but all in all I would return because the location was perfect and communication was excellent. Thanks we enjoyed our stay.

Great location - close to centre of Whitby but really quiet little cul-de-sac. Plenty of parking space. Clean house with everything we needed. Would have been 5 stars but we didn't find the beds/mattresses comfortable.

Perfect for our weekend away. Lots of space inside the property and the kitchen is well equipped. There is ample parking for two cars, and once we’d parked up we could easily walk everywhere - the property is so close to the centre, looking down to the train station. We would definitely stay again and for longer next time.

Very clean, great location would only return if in summer months. Positive: Very clean. Good kitchen items tea coffee etc although brought own. Location good. Negative: On entry the house itself was freezing. It would be nice if a guest is expected that the cleaner/owner puts heating on ready for their welcome. The shower downstairs was dripping so much that there was a pool of water behind the toilet. Why didn’t the cleaner/owner have this sorted before we arrived? We reported it as soon as we noticed it and a plumber came next day. The call centre didn’t understand our issue I guess it is outsourced to another country? The whole bar has to be replaced so not a minor issue. Once fixed no more water on the floor. Must have been costing owner a fortune in water bill. Single beds need new mattresses.

Beautiful property , excellent location. Positive: Excellent location and great it had parking . Once we had parked up we didn’t move the car again as everything was in walking distance. Super clean , homely property , lovely and warm. Would stay again and recommend to others. Negative: The shower needs looking at as it drips - it didn’t cause us a problem - just wanting the landlord to see feedback so they can fix it as wasting water .

Really great location, it's about 3 minutes walk away from Whitby centre, you can even see the Abbey from the living room window. Great to have off street parking too. Just beware, the bedrooms are up some stairs in a converted loft so just be mindful if you're booking a bungalow because you can't get up stairs (wasn't an issue for us). Wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Nice house clean and tidy, good parking right in the town centre. Close to all the pubs and restaurants, shops, steam railway and harbour.

Comfortable with a modern kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen well stocked with everything you’d need, although we ate out during our weekend stay. Would stay here again. Negative: Difficult to control the temperature on the radiators, so sometimes they went off even though the room was cool. When we first arrived, the electric kept tripping, rang the agents and they quickly sent out a maintenance guy. No further problems after that. Sofa bed is a bit dated.

Great stay at Farthings lovely spacious, clean bungalow so close to the centre of Whitby and with parking too. As stated in other reviews the WiFi code provide by Host and Stay is incorrect, there is a number missing, if you look on the back of the router in the hall the correct code is on there. Will definitely return hopefully in the summer when we can make use of the outdoor space and view of the abbey!

We had a fantastic stay at this property in October ‘24. Great location just a couple of minutes walk to the centre. Nice quiet cul-de-sac with private parking for a couple of vehicles. Lots of good recommendations were provided for places to visit and dine. Very spacious lounge/kitchen diner. It seemed everything had been thought through very well as everything was provided even a torch, as its quite dark and on a slope leading up to the house. Didn’t get to enjoy the outside space due to weather but lots of places to sit. Would definitely visit again.

The good: Excellent location for Whitby with dedicated parking at the house. Fresh remodel so the kitchen and bathrooms were great. Nice large flat screens in two rooms. Train station and CO-OP 5 min walk. Booked a three day stay. The not so good: Upon checking we had no hot water downstairs. (kitchen, bathroom, laundry.) Contacted the non-local corporate host and got a canned "Thank you for reaching out - we've received your message and will get back to you as soon as we can." It took two days before a maintenance person could enter (only after I had to leave my one key in the lock box so they could enter.) and "reset" the hot water heater timer. The upstairs shower did have a dedicated water heater built in for that so we were able to carry water downstairs to clean dishes for two of the three days. I am truly hoping that things get sorted at this location as it would be a place I'd like to return to some day.

Superb property, in the perfect location, with great views of the abbey from the decking area. Parking is very difficult to find in Whitby, which made the generous sized private parking for two cars, at Farthings an absolute godsend. Very comfortable, well laid out property. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!👍

Fabulous house just a stone's throw for the centre of Whitby. Immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated and furnished. Very spacious and really well equipped with excellent beds, high quality bedding and brilliant showers. The parking is great and the outside space is excellent.
