family of 10 2night stay was a great BARGAIN!! wish we could of stayed longer 10mins walk from beach great family home and looking forward to are next trip. Home is nicely decorated with plenty of space but gardens are abit small but my large dog like laying on the stones in the front garden.

I loved my stay at this place, has everything that I needed. Highly recommend Positive: Picturesque home with plenty of modern amenities. 5 minute walk away from Whitby city centre. Very reasonable price considering all what’s included.

Had a fab weekend with the family in Whitby, but probably would t return to Falcon Retreat. Positive: The location was fab and not far from the town centre. Negative: Property needs some TLC Mattresses need replacing Not cleaned to a standard I would expect, sweet wrappers on the floor, an old contact lense in the bathroom, dirt on the walls in the kitchen and chest of drawers.. generally felt dirty as others have said.

Positive: Not too far from centre, enough living space for everyone Negative: Could have been cleaner, stair carpet dirty, soft furnishings grubby, chipped crockery and kitchen very small

Cheap and Cheerful, bit tired work seems to be going on as (patched plastered wall and painted touch) up all over the house . Very steep hill to climb to get into town not for the faint hearted. Booked for 9 people and house only set up for 8 and had to buy a quit as could not find any , reported this to the host .

We had a great weekend at Falcons retreat - it’s a fab location just up the hill from the marina which meant everything was very walkable and convenient. Decor was great, and no issues with parking which was a relief. We had an issue with there being one bed less than the property was advertised for, but this was eventually rectified with the purchase of an air bed - but note that this is a 9 bed property not 10 bed (assume listing will be updated). Good communication with host after issues were rectified. Would recommend staying here if bed listings fixed!

We had a very disappointing stay at this property and unfortunately would not recommend it. On arrival, the overall cleanliness and condition of the accommodation were not to an acceptable standard. The bedding in particular was concerning, as it had a noticeable ammonia type smell which was very unpleasant and raised doubts about whether it had been properly cleaned. The mattresses were also very old and worn, making it difficult to get a comfortable night’s sleep. The kitchen facilities were not fit for purpose. The gas oven was extremely old and ineffective, taking an excessive amount of time to heat up and cook food, to the point where we were unable to prepare a proper meal. During our stay, the pipes under the kitchen sink broke, causing water to leak directly onto the floor. This made the sink unusable and meant we could not carry out basic washing up.

Ok stay Positive: We liked the nautical theme that runs through the house and is clean and practical and has 2 shower rooms. It is also not far from the town center if you go through the Hospital. Enjoyed our stay. Negative: Constant texts requiring a deposit for £500 for any breakages that might occur became annoying especially when this was not on Bookings.com. No wardrobe in the main bedroom, the cupboard was far too small to fit anything into it. Did not know why there was a single bed in the main bedroom and would have been better A very small dressing table would probably be better for someone very small. Could not find the thermostat to turn on the heating when cold.

Great location, nice house just little things need attention Positive: Easy instructions for the key lock to get in, great location, fullly equipped. 2 bathrooms. Negative: Too many plug in air fresheners which affected our chests and also the bed in the upstairs bedroom was uncomfortable. Wasn't as clean as I would have liked. Dirty socks left under the bed, dust balls, and geubby shower

Falcon Retreat a real treat Positive: Located close to the centre of Whitby.. Lovely cosy place with everything provided for a great stay.

Lovely house in a central but quiet location.

A few features of the property didn't work (lights on landing) and parking on street was very tricky (as expected). Good location though and fast broadband.

The house was very dirty and didn’t look like it had been cleaned. The main issues were the dirty floor & carpet, especially by the entrance and in the bathrooms. The surfaces in the front room were dirty and had crumbs on, the kitchen utensils were very dirty, mainly the chopping boards, kettle and oven trays. The cushions in the front room had a very bad smell. We raised this immediately and were told housekeeping would arrive to re-clean but they didn’t, so we spent the first day cleaning the house so we would feel more comfortable. We requested a refund of our cleaning fee but continue to be told it’s being investigated without any outcome. Have rated 2 stars as it is a good location and was spacious.
