Well appointed, clean & tidy, for family get together.

GuestAirbnbSep 2024

Really lovely house, very modern and clean. Everything we needed was provided plus lots more. Easily enough room for our family of six adults and one baby. The cot would have fit into any one of the rooms. All guests reported the beds were comfy and they had lots of space. We did struggle a bit with the pram but the second day we took the baby carrier and managed fine. We would definitely use this place again. Thank you for making it a lovely break.

There were extra fees for a non-refundable damage waiver. Host & Stay only revealed the amount of the fees after the booking was made, so be aware the actual price is £50 on top of the price quoted for your stay. There were torn bin bags at the front of the house and there were sweet wrappers and other rubbish under furniture - which was disappointing given there was a £125 cleaning fee. Worst of all, however, was that we could not check in on time (4pm) and had to wait until nearly 7pm. No reason was given for this but we had three young children unable to have their tea and getting frustrated. All in all, the house was nice but the management of the property was woeful.

Great stay with lots to do in the surrounding area. Very quiet with friendly neighbours. Value for money. The guidebook was great and gave us everything we needed to know. Would stay again.

We stayed in this lovely house with 3 small children and 3 small dogs. Stand out features were the big comfy beds and secure garden for the dogs. There were a few steps into the house, which was a bit of a pain with the prams but we managed fine. There is also a high chair, which wasn’t listed on the amenities.

Great clean and spacious accommodation! There is short steep walk down to the town, so give consideration to this if you have mobility issues. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuite had lovely views. The host was very quick to resolve a minor issue with the bathroom lock. Fantastic holiday, would definitely stay there again.

The property is in a row of residential houses so local residents, children and dogs around. Parking is a nightmare, lots of 2 car families, visitors, tourists and on the weekend we were there, visiting Jehovah Witnesses all of which took up any available parking. Even parking on the roadside still meant a 2-3 min walk to the house, multiple trips to the car and a very steep set of steps to the front door. However that is the only downside, the house is in vg order, newly decorated and new carpets and blinds so everything in excellent condition. The beds are extremely comfy as is the lounge. We could not view live tv for some reason but we managed with the free view apps for the limited time we were indoors. Very close to the harbour, beach, main Whitby though access is down a very steep bank. The house was perfect for 6 friends on a birthday weekend and was well equipped.

Beautifully presented place to stay! Positive: The house was beautiful. Lovely modern feel inside, tastefully decorated throughout. Beds are extremely comfortable! Great garden area for sitting out in the sun. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Cosy & warm, it had a homely feel. Would definitely stay there again. Negative: The light in the ensuite bathroom wasn't working. Wasn't a problem during the day as there was a window. Reported to Host & Stay and they said they would report it to maintenance. Not fixed while we were there, but as it was a weekend stay it wasn't a huge problem. I personally would have liked a set of drawers in the bedroom (none of the bedrooms had them but they did all have a clothes rail) if I was staying longer than a weekend I would like somewhere to put my smalls & other things so I could properly unpack. Other half wasn't happy about the extra charge in case of damages. We were only aware of this after the booking was made. You have a choice of paying £50 as a one off non refundable payment or £500 that will be refunded (minus a £15 admin fee)

We did enjoy the weekend, location was great. Positive: Location was great. Cleanliness was ok, but dog hair and birthday confetti in the living room. Baking trays still with fat and food in them. Heating good but there were a lot of draughts from the windows and doors. Shower head fell off onto my nieces head.

Overall great location, spacious and beds were comfortable. However, we were greeted to neighbours in their PJs shouting at their children on the green in front of the house. Not the warmest welcome… The place looked clean on the surface but when spilling some water on the floor and mopping it up the kitchen roll was black!! Kitchen floor had old confetti and cake decorations all over it just not as clean as would have expected at all, luckily never had this issue before with other places. The showers and toilets weren’t clean, hairs all over them before use and windowsills dusty, lots of cobwebs and spiders in the corners of most rooms (I know it’s the time of year for them). Cluttered shelving under the TV etc. just little touches that you’d expect to be presented nicer. The photos look lovely but it’s all a little worn and needed a good deep clean in my opinion but good for a few nights away. Host is a larger company so this may be the issue where attention to detail is missed

Would defo come back again, it was perfect for a family and location was great.

Great property in a quite road but only 8 minutes to walk into the old town.Four good sized bedrooms well equipped kitchen.Out the back iids a decent garden to catch the last of the sun.If you are looking for property close to the old town give The Ropery a try

Negative: En-suite shower was hit n miss, apart from that was good

JacquelineBooking.comSep 2026

Positive: Lovely house , but parking was terrible . Negative: No where to park near property.

CharlotteBooking.comSep 2026

Terrible customer service at host and stay. Not responded to my complaint for nearly 4 weeks now. Dirty filthy property Positive: Not very much it was absolutely disgusting the property and wasn’t even cleaned properly. Negative: Dirty dog hairs all on the floor, the kitchen sink is blocked and overflowed outside causing draining issues for it to floor. There was dried urine all around the toilet seat rim from previous guests. Melted chocolate inside the freezer door frame. Left over toaster crumbs and melted butter all over the toaster. Previous users public hairs within the baths the mirror on the top floor was thick with dust you could write on it. There was a dried used bloodied plaster left on the bedside table when I arrived. Dead flies all within the windowsills on the property. The list goes on

NathanBooking.comAug 2026

A lovely, clean house. Positive: A lovely house, close to the Abbey and the town centre. Negative: It’s a shame but we were frustrated by a couple of really simple fixes: Only one little J-cloth to clean up and wash up for a family of 5 for a week Only one loo roll in each bathroom Lots of board games but all with missing pieces Lots of take out menus but 2 of the places had closed down.

Would definitely stay here again and Whitby is lovely. Positive: Lovely house. Very spacious, great views and a short walk into town. Negative: The parking space is not dedicated to the property and it can be difficult to find somewhere to park when it's busy. Otherwise it's a fantastic property.

GuestAirbnbJul 2026

Lovely stay at Esk view. Great location for a walk into the centre of Whitby. House was clean and beds comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. Great base for exploring Whitby. We recommend and would stay again.

GuestAirbnbJun 2026

Garden needed maintaining. Patio and garden was very overgrown with weeds. Few niggles in the house such as blinds that didn’t work, dishwasher clogged up, broken shower head in man bathroom. Didn’t spoil the weekend but felt they should have sorted before we went in

JohnBooking.comJun 2026

Positive: Good location very clean and tidy Negative: Garden needed a tidy up. Oven tricky to work. Too many upsell emails.

Great property and location. Perfect for our two family Whitby break. The beds were really comfy with nice size bathrooms and all the required amenities. Less than a 10 minute walk to the old town and harbour. Onstreet parking is mentioned in the listing but due bear in mind that the roads around that property are busy in season. Be prepared to walk with your cases. Having said that we were happy to park the car and leave until we left at the end of our stay as we could easily get around by foot.

IainBooking.comMar 2026

Positive: Location is good. Size etc all decent and as photos Negative: Tv and broadband not working. Whilst the ‘host and stay’ agents were very contactable, afterwards their customer support refused to deal with this in a way I would have considered appropriately.

GuestAirbnbFeb 2026

Great stay. Location was excellent. Close to Whitby centre and close to the Abbey. The house was homely and comfortable. Parking was a bit tight, but we always managed to get a spot on the street during our stay.

AdeleBooking.comJan 2026

Good but needs a good bottoming before new guests arrive. Really disappointing Positive: Lovely property, nice good quality furniture and all you could need in kitchen. Beds were very comfortable Negative: The house was in dire need of cleaning. The waste bin was filthy. Carpets were in need of a good hovering (black bits, fluff and dog hairs) All rooms needed a good dusting, you could not see it immediately, but when the sun shone it was obvious that it had not been dusted for quite a while. We also did not appreciate used dig poop bags outside the back door, which by the way are still there.

JosephBooking.comJan 2026

All round it was great and I will be staying again. Positive: The location was great, the house was clean and the beds made for a brilliant nights sleep. Negative: The parking (not the properties responsibility) the street was very busy with people trying to park.

GuestAirbnbNov 2025

When we arrived one of the circuits on the fuse box was tripped and wouldn't reset. This meant no lights worked and the smoke alarms were not connected to the mains. This seems to be because of water. The landing on the first floor was sopping wet and the light fitting was dripping with water - likely from a leak. The host sent someone around the next day who dealt with the problem. But spending the night without proper smoke alarms (or lights) is not okay. We have made a complaint. The company are due to get back to us with 7-10 working days (so far it have been 8 working days). They pestered for a review, however, so they're getting it now. Other than that, the house was reasonably clean and a nice space. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the loos, which is never the most reassuring. The house was nice enough, comfy beds, beautiful skylights in the main bedroom. The location was ideal. Kitchen had enough equipment to cook with.

GuestAirbnbSep 2025

Great base for exploring Whitby, very central location. Lovely house with lovely views! Easy walk down into town and up to the Abbey. All facilities and amenities you need in the house.

ValerieBooking.comAug 2025

Positive: Was great for our weekend away, location was good and easy to get to main parts of Whitby. Being able to park near the property was a bonus (if you dropped lucky) Negative: Nothing

GuestAirbnbAug 2025

We had a wonderful few days in this house, which is in easy walking distance of the centre of Whitby but away from the really busy streets. The rooms were really generous with lovely comfortable beds, and there was plenty of room to relax downstairs as well.

GuestAirbnbAug 2025

The property was clean and tidy and is in a great location, just a short walk to the town and harbour. The parking is a bit of a nightmare though but we did manage to find spaces in the end and then didn't use the cars again until we left. Aside from that we had a brilliant time and would definitely recommend.

GuestAirbnbNov 2024

This house is in a stunning location, the house is super easy to find, is a 20 minute walk away from the train station and local shops. there is tonne of options for food and drink locally and the host made sure to help as much as they could. The view from the rooms is gorgeous and the back garden is lovely with access to herbs for cooking! would absolutely recommend this host!

GuestAirbnbSep 2024

We had a great stay, very comfortable and well appointed property. Perfect location for the harbour, beach and abbey. Highly recommended.

Well ……. where to start, what a lovely house to stay in for our 3 night break. As soon as we walked through the door you could tell the house was lovely and clean. The house was in tip top shape and looked to be very recently decorated. The rooms are a decent size and beds very comfortable, the little touches like hair dryers in every room and charging plugs are hit in my book. Location wise I would say is about a 5 min walk away from the centre of Whitby, which we enjoyed doing each day Would highly recommend and are likely to stay in the house next time we visit Whitby All in all top Banana 🍌
