Our stay at Emilyn’s House was perfect for family. The location of the house was close to family, who were in Sunderland and South Shields. The house had everything we needed for our stay and the communication with Charlie was superb. We look forward to staying here on future visits to the area.

We travelled to the property as a family, 6 adults we cannot recommend the property highly enough, it was a great stay. We will be visiting again as my brother and pregnant wife live 10 minutes drive away, so we are already looking forward to our next visit, and think we have found the perfect home from home for family time and visits to see the new baby. We are very much looking forward to our next stay already. The property is finished to a high standard and we loved the on ceiling heating. Very comfortable stay that had everything we needed and more. Thanks

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. Everything was spotless , beautifully decorated the photos do not do it justice. The space was warm and inviting. The location was perfect for us to visit family, it was quiet and peaceful yet close enough to everything we needed. We would certainly stay here again

Lovely house, great for a weekend break visiting family

A magnificent stay, apart from 1 thing. The village of Whitburn, Whitburn Bents, & the costal path that stretched for miles was a surprising find. It is stunning. The mainly dog friendly beach stretches all the way to Roker. Either walking the sands or the promenade was blissful. The area where Whitburn Collery once was is now a nature reserve. All worth exploring. Emilyn House sits in the middle of it all. Easy to walk to Latimer's Seafood - a must visit & The Bay for fish and chips. The house was as described. Plenty of space to spread out in the 2 sitting rooms & kitchen. Well fitted out. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. What was disappointing was the lack of some req items. For example, 2 dish washer tablets & 2 rubbish sacks were not enough for a family of 4 for 4 days. There was 1 tea towel and 1 J Cloth. This was insufficient, and for the cost of the stay, felt stingy for no reason. Similarly with toilet rolls, there just wasn't enough. We had to buy some. But worth a stay there.

We were so happy and grateful to find this gem at short notice. Five of us had travelled a long way for a special family birthday but when we arrived at the property we had booked through another platform (ie not Airbnb) we took one look and walked back out - it was horrible! Thankfully Airbnb and our host came to our rescue. This is a delightful property that was a real pleasure to stay in. It's clear that the hosts have gone to a great deal of thought and effort in making the place truly welcoming. There is plenty of room and all the fixtures and fittings are to a high standard. Next time we are in the area we will definitely try to book this property again.

Emilyn House could not be faulted. Very comfortable, well equipped, spacious, clean, well situated. Perfect for our needs - family of 4 with a small dog. We will certainly book again in the future when visiting family in the North East.

A beautiful family home with everything you need. We were a party of 5; 3 adults, 2 children aged 6 and 3 and they all loved the place. Lots of space and set in a great location, close to some amazing beaches. The Seaburn and Roker area was new to us but we will be back. Great garden for the kids to play in and plenty of space in the house for relaxing. A great house for our family holiday.

We had an amazing few days stay in Whitburn. We would highly recommend this airbnb , very modern with a secure garden, ample parking, spotlessly clean and close to the beach. Access into Sunderland, Roker beach, cafes and accessible for visits to Durham and Newcastle city centre. Very dog friendly and great communication from the hosts. Looking forward to our next visit. Ideal accommodation for short stay in the area. Appreciated the touches to accommodate for a pet staying as well. Very clean in general and comfy beds as well. Enjoyed being able to walk to local restaurants for dinner. Will definitely stay here again in future.

Lovely house in a lovely location. Positive: The property had a great location for the beach and local amenities. The house was a decent size for a party of 6 people. Negative: The cleaning of some of the appliances i.e. the cooker and the microwave could have been better as there was still remnants of food in them. There also needs to be a second set of plates and cutlery to enable the use of the dishwasher, also some additional pans. There should also be more dishwasher tablets provided for the days you are staying. Also, 2 tea towels would have been handy. There are a few little maintenance jobs that need doing, such as the upstairs sink plug sticks, the patio doors need some wd40 applying so they slide easier. The patio doors need an outdoor step to aid older people and dogs getting in and out. These were not things that we did not really like but that could have made the stay a little better for us and those coming after us.

We wanted a location near to family who live in the area, and the coast, especially the beaches of Seaburn, Marsden and South Shields. This property was perfect for this, and all the above beaches could be reached either by walking, local transport or a short car journey. The property is in a quite, peaceful street with plenty of free parking. It is decorated to a high standard. It was light, bright and clean throughout. It had a beach house feel. The garden was lovely and well maintained. The bedding and towels provided were spotless. The little extras provided such as coffee, milk, tea and dog bowls (and dog treats!) all added to the stay. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend the property.

Dale’s place is a treasure. This beautiful house behind an unassuming facade has gorgeous living spaces, a private back garden and everything we needed for a perfect family get together, dog included. The place is cosy and modern at the same time. Beautiful skylights in the kitchen/family room made it light even on dark winter days. The surroundings are exceptional and we enjoyed long walks along the coast path, beaches and Cleadon Hills. Enjoyed a fantastic seafood platter from Latimer’s on Christmas Eve - and don’t miss fish and chips at Colman’s in South Shields. We will be back!

Lovely modern spacious place to stay. Pet friendly and close coastal walks. We were provided with coffee, tea milk etc which was a great touch

A Diamond Find! Positive: The house was immaculate, nicely decorated, fully equipt for everyday needs and the little touches didn't go unnoticed (baskets of blankets, Amazon stick for the TV, cleaning products/condiments) Use of a dishwasher, washing machine, ironing board, a wide range of kitchen utensils, towels, hair dryer, remote controlled ceiling panel heaters, WiFi available. Private parking fully secure onsite, at the back of the garden. Whether your looking for a family get away or somewhere to entertain friends for the week. The beach is a 2min car journey away, with amusements and resturants. Plenty of take aways close by and a small coop within walking distance or a big Morrisons 2minutes down the road in the car. I would most certainly, highly recommend booking a stay here if visiting the area. Places to visit in the Area: Seaburn beach 3min drive Ocean Beach Pleasure Park 11min drive Angel of the North 30min drive Chesters Roman Fort and Museum - Hadrian's Wall 1hr drive away Overall 10/10 Negative: I cannot fault this place.

Such a lovely place to stay with a group of friends or family. We had a lovely time and enjoyed everything around the place as well as the place. Very clean and well equipped. I only wish the communication would’ve been a bit better ! We only knew how to check in after I asked for instructions and they did not give me any response on checking in earlier but I understand it might have not been their fault. Thanks for your hospitality we had a great time!

The property was extremely clean and well equipped, and large enough to accommodate a group of 6 adults comfortably. Heating via ceiling panels was effective. The location was quiet and on-street parking available. The bunk beds creaked, and this creaking was loud enough in the downstairs double bedroom beneath to cause some sleep disturbance. The property is run by a business who could not accommodate a slightly later checkout on request.

Beautiful home, clean and tidy. Loved having the two lounge areas so our group could do different activities if we felt like it. Easy parking. Nice quiet area.

A very well equipped property that was high spec throughout. We have local knowledge of the area and so we didn’t ask for things to do from the host, but they were so informative about everything else, I’m sure recommendations would have been excellent if we had needed to ask. Very modern layout in the house. We went with our 3 year old son and with my in laws and the house catered for us all. Very easy to find and even though the map may look like it is not near any beaches or attractions, it is a maximum of 15 minutes to South Shields and less than 5 minutes to Seaburn/Roker. Parking was never an issue on the street and there was never any noise to affect us during our stay. The property is extremely clean and room sizes are very generous. We will definitely return to this property (probably several times over).

Great find with sea views The house was very nice with lots of high end finishes. A lot of care went into the design and I loved that the bathroom floors were warm to walk on (stayed at the end of november so needed heat). Host was very responsive to questions prior to my stay, even late in the evening. Check in and out process was very easy Will stay.here again when i come back to visit family

We had a lovely stay, very clean, bright and spacious, comfy beds, great bathrooms and showers, well equipped kitchen and just a comfortable house we all felt at home in. Our dogs especially liked having the outdoor space and we're looking forward to coming back in the spring and summer months. A second set of keys would've been good though as we are 2 couples and occasionally do different things during the stay.

Great stay with everything you would need. Tastefully decorated. Beds very comfortable and ensuite with underfloor heating was welcome. Outside space was good for the dog and I would imagine it would be good in the summer. All in all a very pleasant stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely house, well furnished and laid out, and very clean, with lots of little nice touches. We chose it because of the downstairs room and en suite, as my husband has reduced mobilty, but our daughter had the upstairs and that was lovely too. Beautiful area with lots of local facilites. Wouldnt hesitate to use again if we are able to come back to the area

I am reluctant to leave a glowing review about Emlyn House as I want to keep it a secret! This house was completely fabulous. As soon as we arrived we felt at home. Th modern design was perfect for us. We had extended family with us for 3 nights and it coped with 6 of us really well. The location was perfect for walks on the beach with our dog and we really appreciated the little touches for a dog friendly break. The blankets were a great idea for the furniture ( we always bring our own) and the treats were a nice touch. The high chair and child bowls, cups and spoons were also much appreciated for our granddaughter. I really can’t praise the house highly enough. We loved our week away and are looking for find a time next year when we can return. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, we certainly think it is the best Airbnb we have stayed in.

Positive: Quiet environment but close to seaside and shops/restaurants. Spacious and clean house with a nice little garden. Negative: The parking space is only for a very small car but there is always parking available on the road. We found some dirty glasses/pans/bowls. This house is for 6 persons but there is only one set of 6 small and large plates/6 forks-spoons-knives/6 water glasses (but 18 glasses for alcohol drinks) In the kitchen, there is only one tea towel and no hand towel

Extremely well situated for the beach. Position of house saw beautiful sun rises. Really lovely garden. All the facilities were great everything you needed. Slept really well in the beds. All in all a great place to stay and very comfortable would love to go back. A really big thankyou.

Fab holiday let Positive: The layout of the house is fabulous. The kitchen, diner and living area was very popular with my family as was the view of the sea from the upstairs bedroom. There was much more to do in the area than we anticipated and the beach was gorgeous and totally unspoiled. Negative: Having to come home!

Host & Stay Whitburn Positive: Host & stays, Charlie was in contact straight away to make sure we got into the property okay and to inform us of things to do in the area. This property was a fantastic find for a family get-together. It is just as good as the pictures on the website. It is in a quiet location. 10 minutes walk to a couple of nice pubs and fantastic Mexican and Italian restaurants, there is a nice sandy beach.20 minutes walk. Highly recommend. Negative: Nothing to complain about.

Beautiful house with a sea view, loved watching the sun rise each morning from the lounge. Spotlessly clean with plenty of room, no clutter, classy furnishings and the bathrooms are stunning. The home owner Ian was very helpful and responsive, the managing agent (when we had a couple of issues) could have done better.

A great house in a great location has everything you need and plenty of space. The stairs are the only thing we were not a fan of, they weren’t very child friendly for a 1 year old but that’s just a personal thing. The only real negative is that check in is at 4pm which feels quite late given check out is 10am. I asked to be let in 30 mins early but there was no flexibility which was a shame. Otherwise a great stay.

We went for 3 days with our 4 grandchildren. The house was immaculate and as described. The kitchen was well equipped and had all the basic necessities needed, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets , kitchen foil etc. The surrounding area was a joy to explore. We mainly stayed on the various beaches but would definitely return for another visit and would highly recommend to others.

Lovely home with beautiful garden full of lavender. Perfect location for Whitburn coast and nature reserves. Plenty of parking on the street. House was very clean.

Everything was as described. The house was very clean, comfortable and private with parking. It is a lovely area with a local pubs, cafes and shops. There are other lovely places to visit along the coast too.

We were out every day and enjoyed the area which is accessible for all ages and great for walking. Positive: The house and garden were in a very good location and accessible to a variety of shops within 1&1/2 miles. the local Morrisons had the cheapest fuel in the area. As a family group of grandparents Mum/ Dad and 2 kids The beaches at South Shields, Whitburn and Seaburn/Roker were all easily accessible, and also were well maintained with Council Waste Control Personnel cleaning up regularly throughout the days. The house is ideal for trafficking to other nearby City and Towns such as Newcastle, Durham & Sunderland. Worth a visit is Beamish Living Museum at Stanley DH9 0RG and also Dalton Park a Retail Outlet at Seaham SR7 9HU & of course the Metro Centre, bring a healthy bank account. Negative: The Wi Fi had intermittent issues. However as we were on a fortnights break we took a rest from searching and receiving internet messages.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Emilyn House. it was spotless and so comfortable but also had everything we needed both inside the house and great local amenities on our doorstep. It's a short walk for a sea view of a sunset or sunrise too. Really important for me is a comfortable bed and it didn't disappoint. We had plenty of contact prior to arrival and checking in with us that all was well. There were no issues at all during our stay. A lot of thought has gone into the detail to accomdate all our needs for a home from home, and to a really high standard. It is a beautiful home. We would definitely recommend staying here and we will be booking again. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, luckily for us, the weather was stunning too!

Positive: Great stay in Whitburn, house had everything we needed and more, especially for our miniature Dachshund too. Not far from the beach and local shops it was well located and with bus links to both South shields and seaburn it was ideal for our trip. We loved our stay here. It is beautifully decorated - just like the photos - and was immaculate. The garden is lovely too. It is so refreshing to stay in a place which is kitted out so well. It really is a home from home. I am originally from the area so could access all of my favourite coastal walks and restaurants within minutes. A perfect stay and it will be a definite return for us!! Great place to stay in Whitburn village, near to the beach Positive: Living accommodation was great for 5 adults. Clean and spacious. Garden was a bonus. Negative: Only 2 dishwasher tablets but also 1 tea towel for 5 people for 3 days. Bunk beds not really suitable for adults and seemed wobbly.

Great little, but surprisingly spacious, house. Calm atmosphere. Excellent location in the splendid village of Whitburn (Tutti Frutti ice cream parlour highly recommended), with easy access to the coastal path and all the amenities of Sunderland.

Emyn House is just as described & shown in photos. Felt like a home from home & very comfortable. Very convenient for local attractions - South Shields, Souter Lighthouse, Seaburn & Roker beaches & Sunderland City centre & all could be accessed by bus. Will certainly be returning.

Stayed here for just a few days wanted to stop longer but it was fully booked. Lovely house will definitely go back when next in the area.

Genuinely one of the nicest airbnbs I have stayed in. We stayed for 3 nights while visiting friends in the area. The house was immaculate, plenty of space, tasteful decor and lovely location. we could see the sea from the street. my husband, son and I were able to use the 1st floor bedrooms and bathrooms. our friend travelling with us had a bedroom and ensuite to himself downstairs. We invited our local friends over for a BBQ and it was perfect for entertaining. Activities: 1st day we walked to Roker beach - a bit of a trek but lovely along the coast. Highly recommend East Street 19 in Whitburn for brunch. 2nd day we did a local parkrun then drove to South Shields for the marine park, fairground and beach. On our way home we stopped for breakfast bao buns at Pablo Eggs go Bao in Sunderland. Always delicious! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Lovely house, close to local bars snd shops. 5 min walk to join the coastal path. Really lovely few days in Emilyn House.

We were travelling with friends and their dog. We know the area and were really pleased with the location. Easy access to the shops, beach and Sunderland. Far enough away from the main road, it it was lovely and quiet. We enjoyed a walk to South Shields and time exploring the local area. Parking was very easy in the street. The house is beautiful and very well decorated and equipped. The large open plan kitchen and diner is perfect for relaxing and eating, we spent most of our time there. Plenty of seats, to relax, chat and eat. The garden is very beautiful so it adds to being in that space. Highly recommend staying here.

We stayed for a couple of nights and an ideal house and location. The local area is nice with lots of places to eat and things to do. Quiet walks along the beach, but equally not far from Newcastle for a bit more bustle. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and had everything we required. The garden space is nice and we used it to sit out when the weather allowed.

We had a lovely long weekend stay at Emilyn House.A few minor things caught us out - no washcloths provided with the linens, no detergent for the washing machine, and no dryer, and while a French Press was provided, our group of 5 had to keep refilling it for coffee. The house was lovely, updated, and we enjoyed things like the heated towel rack and floor in the bathroom. Parking was easy and it's very convenient for Whitburn and the surrounding area, including walking along the coastline. We would stay again.

A gem which you want to keep a secret so you can stay again Positive: Fantastic overall. Well thoughtout layout, good provisions for home cooking, clean, welcoming. Hope to stay again. Negative: Kitchen was cosy and we wanted to all be together in there, but limited sofa space meant some sat on dining chairs. Appreciate there was front living room with more sofa space, but rear of property was warmer

This is my second stay at the property and it was a really homey place. The host was very responsive and since i was arriving after it got dark had even left the lights on which i really appreciated. Would definitely recommend staying at this property- nothing bad to say about it at all

The house was exceptionally well prepared for our arrival and the description and photographs were accurate. The location is great, close to the beach and easy to get to both Sunderland and Newcastle. Having a super market close by is also a plus. Off street parking was always available and I could definitely recommend this property, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We felt right at home the minute we stepped through the door! Emilyn House is a gorgeous space, converting us to open plan living enthusiasts, with the garden being the main event, simply stunning! From clean fresh linen and ambient lighting to spacious, modern bathrooms and an inviting kitchen/family room - this house has it all! We were genuinely sad to leave!

We had a wonderful stay at Emilyn House in Whitburn. Beautiful well equiped spaceous house, so clean and tidy. The garden was perfect for relaxation and sunbathing. The house is in a peaceful Street and was good for restoring energi. The Coop was close, and made the food shopping easy. Lovely atmosphere in Whitburn and is was a nice exercise to walk to Seaburn all along the beautiful seafront. We definately would love to revisit the house and Whitburn.

Felt at home from the first moment we arrived, the little garden is a lovely little sun trap and we had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, it was spotlessly clean and they have been so helpful as I forgot my charger! Would definitely stay again.

We hebben heel erg genoten van ons verblijf in het "Emilyn house". Alles was prima verzorgd. Opgemaakte bedden en handdoeken (1 grote en 1 kleine). En het belangrijkste is toch wel dat het er allemaal fris en schoon uit zag. Ook is er de mogelijkheid om de auto achterin de tuin te parkeren via een hek aan de zijkant van de tuin. Maar de auto kan ook gewoon naast of voor het huis geparkeerd worden. De supermarkt (Coop) in Whitburn is op loopafstand en de kust is ook prima lopend te bereiken. Voor meer winkels en activiteiten heeft het naastgelegen Sunderland genoeg te bieden. En ook de Coast Route met onder andere een aantal kastelen richting het noorden is zeker aan te raden. Als eetgelegenheid kunnen we het restaurant "Mamma Mia" aanraden in Whitburn en bij Red Box Cake kun je lekkere zoetigheden kopen.

for the price, there should be toilet tissues and there wasn't any recycling bin. apart from that everything else was good.

I felt at home from the very first day, everything was absolutely as claimed, loved the two sitting areas for different parts of the day. Master bath is a good size, easy to use, and Underfloor heating was a really nice feature. Bed was very clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend this apartment. Whitburn is a lovely village and within a very easy stroll.

This was a clean, comfortable and bright house. It was within walking distance of the coast, where we walked every day afte breakfast. Also within walking distance of the village with good amenities.

The house is great, very spacious, plenty of amenities could not pick any faults only thing the house is lacking is a tv in the main bedroom but there’s already 2 TVs so it’s enough anyway.
