The apartment was a high standard and looks and feels like a new renovation/build. Very quiet location. Provided some feedback direct re a couple of suggestions but all in all this is a great find in central Whitby, on the doorstep in the centre of town with everything so close. We will definitely stay again and would highly recommend for a couple.

Larpool Viaduct Visit Positive: Convenient for the centre. Well equipped. Ticked all the boxes. Negative: There was only one wine glass for 2 people. More cutlery needed to utilise dishwasher to good effect.

I absolutely love this place! I've stayed in Whitby many times and this is up there as one of my favourite places! It was just like the photos, spotless, the heating system was really impressive and kept the place lovely and toasty! The bathroom was spotless and really modern and the bed was really comfortable! Felt super nice and private being away from the road and was the absolute perfect size for myself and my partner and our dog! Surroundings were super quiet at nice which was amazing, but so close to the harbour and the beach! Would 100% stay again!!

Stay for the Abba Concert Positive: It was right in the middle of town. Lovely and quiet, everything you would need, staff were easily contacted and very helpful Negative: Nothing at all

myself, my wife and our fur baby absolutely loved it here. The location was central but not right in the busyness of it all so incredibly peaceful. Our fur baby was settled the whole duration of our stay, the accommodation is a short walk to the sea front. No doubt we'll return in the future.

Stay away!!!! Positive: The host couldn't be reached to check us in. Horrific experience for us to go on holiday to Whitby and not having the accomodation ready for when you need to rest. The customer service phone number is always busy or having 4 people plus in queue. They called us back after 3h when we've already found a new hotel to stay in for the night. They were very rude on the phone. Worst experience ever and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Negative: The host, customer service non existing and very rude.

The property has the potential to be a very nice holiday home however the place is riddled with damp and black mould which resulted in one of us becoming ill. There is a smell of damp in the property and there are damp traps in multiple places but these are never sufficient to remove black mould. In the bathroom the extractor fan doesn’t work, which has exacerbated the problem. In the bedroom there are stripes of white paint on the ceiling where an effort has been made to conceal black mould spots without painting the whole ceiling. We complained about this on leaving and were asked to provide photos which we did and were assured that our concerns were ‘important’ and they would be addressed ‘promptly’. A week later we’d heard nothing, so sent a chaser message, again heard nothing so sent another chaser message five days later to be told that we had to complete a complaints form. We’re still waiting for the complaints form….

A compact newly refurnished apartment on one level, but a steep step to get inside the front door and another steep step along the passageway. Entry is by getting the code to the keybox and this was not given by email until we were on our way! Good job I had internet, some don't! Property was clean (ish), some damage to carpets and stains on walls, but nothing untoward. Minimalist and bright with one of those complicated TV's. Superb kitchen, which we never used, but the fridge was a bit useless as the bit on the door to hold milk and bottles was missing. Freezer section 'frozen up' with some food in there, look like it's been there ages, but maybe wrong.King size bed, very comfortable, but there were no drawers or storage facilities for clothes apart from a small hanger frame with 4 hangers. Not nearly enough for a one night stay but 4 nights, I ended up living out of my suitcase, which was not acceptable. Good bathroom and shower, but the extractor fan did not work.Location pretty good, next door to a very good pub, and just up the hill on Flowergate near the Little Angel.Would we stay again - maybe if there were some storage for clothes, otherwise no.

Positive: Great place good location. Place wasn't that clean . But we cleaned it up. Negative: Dusty mouldy in the bathroom and skirting were filthy. Very nice place tho. Cleaner wants sacking

Absolutely perfect location for exploring all that Whitby has to offer. We found a car park about a 3 minute walk away which was great. Apartment very comfortable, kitchen, living space and bedroom very clean however the bathroom could do with a deep clean and fresh flooring as has a musty aroma. The hallway carpet does have lots of evidence of 4 legged friends having accidents so again a deep carpet clean here would bring that up sparking (these are the reasons for lower star rating). The information and communication left nothing out but I did feel there were too many messages that I felt I had to reply to - we were only staying one night so it was a bit annoying as wanted to get on with our exploring.

Positive: Location and facilities in the apartment. Easy access. Negative: There was some damp, stained carpets and furniture and an unpleasant bathroom smell. All points were reported and can hopefully be sorted out easily enough for future visitors.

This is a great place to base yourselves if you are wanting to explore Whitby and its restaurants and bars. The accommodation is exactly as described and the facilities are very good. One thing that I would suggest if you enjoy cooking your own meals when you are away, take all the condiments that you would use at home. The accommodation has everything hardware wise but nothing like salt and pepper for example. Overall it’s a super base with a great bar next door. It’s tucked away so the only noise you will hear is from Mother Nature.

Great stay after a stressful start. Positive: Great location Negative: Outside entrance area could do with sweeping. We booked and paid for a extra night a week before our visit. Booking.com did not update the booking duration details despite messaging them twice worried that the check in date shown was now incorrect . They did reply confirming our check in would be 24 hrs earlier than shown. On our arrival day we received no check in instructions and spent time 30 mins ringing them to gain access to the property. The property access details arrived the day after our visit.

A nice comfortable bed… Positive: Bed was comfortable, good location easy access to the town and beaches. Negative: Dirty place, boxers in bed side tables, bathroom smelt mouldy, difficult to initially find. Very basic supplies to make the place comfortable for a couple of days.

Very lovely property, but lacked some things to make it feel liveable Positive: It was beautifully decorated and easy to find. It was also in a great location Negative: The property did lack a few essential things, such as washing up liquid, salt, pepper. Just little essentials that you need when staying away from home. The shower was also a little dirty so the pressure was off. It was a lovely stay for us, just a few minor things

The cleaning crew needs to be more thorough, coffee stains on the bedroom skirting boards and lots of stains on the carpets. Bathroom needs a heated towel rail thats easy to use. The bathroom always felt damp and musty. Some coat hooks in the storage cupboard or hall way would make all the difference No welcome pack not even a pint of milk !!

The apartment is very comfortable and cosy,in a great location. Positive: Its central location and ease of access. The decor and furnishings are very good with plenty of kitchen utensils if needed. Negative: A few niggles were reported,that past guests may not have mentioned. Anyone staying needs to be careful when using the street door if it’s at all breezy/windy. The draught in the passage can cause problems when opening or closing that door. As I found out to my peril !

This is a lovely apartment in the heart of Whitby.

The location of the apartment is fantastic. It’s central and in walking distance to everything you need. We used long stay car park elsewhere in town as local parking is very limited but that’s no concern as it’s only a five mins walk away. The apartment looks beautiful and very well laid out. We felt at home as soon as we entered. Unfortunately there is a downside or two. Getting into the apartment was stressful due to a lack of instruction. We had to reach out to Hotel and Stay as we didn’t have the access code required. We then had to wait for a questionnaire to be sent out and completed before having to wait longer for the code. That took almost an hour to sort. In the apartment, it was disappointing to see the state of the shower. The tiles were covered in grime as were the two shower heads which made showering a little uncomfortable. It’s an obvious oversight in an otherwise beautiful and well maintained apartment.

Had a lovely couple of days at Driftwood. It’s a great base for a Whitby break, being right in the middle of things but quiet and peaceful too. The flat was presented very well, had everything we needed for our stay and a very comfortable bed - wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Spacious and quiet in the heart of town Positive: The location was great, close to the train station, near restaurants and shops, but in an alleyway that was quiet for sleeping. You will need to walk up a hill. It is spacious with a large kitchen for cooking. Negative: The apartment had been tidied up and linens changed, but it was not fully cleaned.

Superb, home-from-home accommodation. Highly recommended. Positive: Fantastic communication throughout. We couldn't work out how to use the heated towel rail, and the maintenance came round quickly to help.

Great location Positive: Very spacious rooms and comfortable. In a great location, nice and quiet, yet a short walk to bars and shops. Harbour near also. Negative: On here it said toilet paper and toiletries supplied but there was a little toilet paper and no soap or toiletries. However there is a Co-op in a 5 mins walk.

Good, central location. Check in was easy. Would have liked the apartment to be cleaner as there was hair on the carpets and some of the dishes in the kitchen cupboards were not clean. The shower also didn’t work very well and only let out a few trickles of water so it was difficult to wash my hair with such low water pressure.

Had a great stay for a long weekend! Perfect location. Had a little trouble finding it but got there eventually (after walking past the ally doorway 3 times). However once we were in it's a beautiful place to say in a perfect location. We'll definitely stay here again for sure x
