Lovely place for anyone fit, very near town centre surrounded by interesting shops Positive: Small but comfortable Negative: The stairs were quaint half spiral in the corner,they had no handrail for the top bit,I had to hold the landing door knob for balance, and I found them difficult,especially when carrying small suitcase.I remained on 1st floor but the twin room was up another flight of similar staircase.Anyone with mobility problems,however slight would have problems.

Polished wood , very steep & windy. Handrail only on part of the staircase. Instructions on how to have extra heating as it was very cold. Managed to use extra heating once but very fiddly. Bathroom very cold. There was a heated towel rail but it didn’t come on at all
Was in great location to bars, shops etc. Few pubic hairs in shower, along with hairs on the duvet & pillows (decorative pillows) also need a wash maybe or replacing, the stairs are a death trap i fell into the sofa & it’s a eco home which is not ideal have to turn radiator on manually, and that’s only for 2hrs max, we was freezing especially in the morning. Checkout is 10am which i thought a little strange because most places are 11am, and had to pay extra for 11am checkout… a bit far i think. overall was okay wont be back i dont think
Had wonderful time in Whitby with friends and the weather was glorious Positive: The property was very clean and bed comfortable had everything you could need Negative: The property was hard to find and it didn’t help that the pictures they sent were on the opposite side of the road so was going up all wrong alleys had to ring the office.

Great location for exploring the local town. The host has prepared a guide with recommendations for walks and eats. We went to a few of the restaurant and cafe recommendations and were really pleased. Would definitely recommend.

Average Positive: Location was good but parking is an issue and we were not provided with the parking scratchcard which was advised to have been given to all other bookings Negative: Very small, not very well thought out in terms of furniture and space. Not really appropriate for family of 4 in the living areas. The property lacks any real ventilation. The shower has very little power, the bed are not particularly comfortable.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Everything was clean, beds were comfortable and the check in/out process was straightforward. However there were no tea towels, hand towels or bathmats, therefore the bathroom floor was wet and slippery after having a shower. Other than that, had a great stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights and the location was fantastic, very clear instructions of how to find the accommodation which was definitely needed as I have walked up the road many times before but didn’t know the cottages were hidden away there. The cottage was very clean and amenities were good.
Fabulously cosy and spotless cottage. Took a little while to find as it’s not where Apple Maps link says but if you follow google link you will eventually find it (down a gated alley off the main road opposite the little angel inn)

Chilling at Dolphin cottage Positive: The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and well presented. The bathroom was clean and modern. Central to everything. Negative: The blankets on the sofa could have been cleaned. The bin wasn't fixed but no biggy. All the bins right outside the window.

Loved Whitby and the cottage . Lots to see and do . Positive: Clean, well equipped, great location close to town and all amenities. Negative: Very steep, narrow stairs . Fine for us, but could be difficult for some. There is no parking with the property , so good to check out local overnight parking before your stay as it changes with the seasons .
Cosy home close to amenities Positive: Lovely location, very close to everything in Whitby so as a young family we could come and go as often as we needed. The cottage was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. It’s small but cosy - as are most properties in Whitby. The girls loved the roomy attic space. Negative: The only downside was that there was miscommunication about the parking situation- whenever I messaged about it, there seemed to be a mix of automated responses and human responses, which differed. There wasn’t a parking permit provided, so without this you will incur hefty council carpark charges or end up parking a long walk away. That was a shame really as it did cause anxiety, and there were plenty of permit spaces free just up the road.
Perfect for what we wanted Positive: The location is perfect. A short walk to the centre. The cottage had most things that you would need for a weekend stay, there was just a few little things that would have helped our stay, or if we had known they weren't provided, we would have brought our own. Negative: The pillows in the top bedroom need replacing as they are almost on their last legs, as in flat If you want to watch TV then, its not ideal as the sofas are sideways, so you get a crick in the neck, luckily we had not come to watch TV. There was no sponge to do the washing up, but washing up liquid was provided. There was a cloth so we used that until we bought our own sponge. It was hard to get up and down the stairs with luggage as the stairs are tight, but it is a fishermans cottage, so to be expected. The key provided is not on a keyring, so easy to misplace if you arnt careful.
Ok cottage terrible host Positive: It was central and clean although the bed covers on the top floor had holes and the liaison with the host was terrible. Negative: We were sold this when we booked with parking, checked again in Feb and were told we would have a scratch permit. The day before checking we were told this wasn’t possible, never had been, although we had confirmation about this. The reason we booked was parking and it cost us £25 which the host didn’t give two hoots about and refused to answer questions apart from resending the parking details. This was disappointing and very frustrating and the lack of care or customer service was outrageous. This ruined our weekend as we were travelling with someone with an illness hence picking a central cottage and parking.

The cottage was lovely and ideally situated for us Positive: Supercute cottage in centre of whitby Negative: No parking nor parking scratch card which this type of accommodation usually provides. We paid £24 for two days parking down at the harbour. When we were packing the car to leave one of the local shop keepers gave us a blue parking disc which he said the council provides them with to give to customers. Just be mindful there is no parking or subsidised parking for this property.

Dolphin cottage is a hidden gem Positive: The cottage was beautiful, very comfortable and in a convenient location. It was well equipped and very clean. They supplied tea, coffee and a few toiletries. Negative: Finding the cottage itself was a little confusing. We was looking for a road and didn't realise the address was actually an entry way that led to the cottage..

Cottage was exactly as advertised and in a perfect location for walking to all attractions in Whitby. Charlie from Host & Stay was very helpful, making sure everything was communicated ahead of our stay and prompt in answering questions. The guide to the property and Whitby provided for download to our phone was extremely useful and we used some of the recommended restaurants and pubs.

So a little too, It is down a very small alleyway opposite Yorkshire building society. Pleasent stay in Whitby in a comfortable property in a central location Positive: Good cenral location. small but had everything we needed. Lots of information provided by the host Negative: It was dificult to find the property in the first place as it was hidden away down a passageway and was quite a long an uphill walk from where we could park so quite difficult with suitcases and bags.

Never again Positive: Very clean and central location. Negative: The property was very small and not a place that you could spend a lot of time in relaxing. The sofas were more decorative than functional as they were uncomfortable. The extractor fan didn’t work and microwave oven was rusty inside. The complimentary toiletries were not enough for three people for our short stay. Although the cottage was central because it was behind other buildings there was no sunlight so the cottage was chilly, there was an electric radiator but the maximum amount of time you could have it on was 2 hours. You couldn’t sleep with the windows open because of the noise from the near by pubs. We couldn’t enter the property before 16:00 unless we paid an additional cost if £30 to enter at 11:00 or £15 to enter at 15:00. The price we paid for our 42 hour stay was £331, so you would have thought the owners might have given a little bit of flexibility. The courtyard was very small and not a child friendly area.

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful and well-kept cottage. It was easy to find, and the host was very polite and helpful throughout, making everything simple and stress-free. The cottage itself was spotless and beautifully presented. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like a home from home. We’d definitely recommend staying here and would love to return in the future!

Although very tidy and pretty I wouldn’t choose to rebook. Positive: Clean and traditional cottage with comfortable beds set close to the heart of Whitby. Negative: Quite difficult to find and glad it wasn’t dark. Maybe an earlier check in without demanding an extra £30 would be a nice customer focused suggestion. The cottage was cold on arrival which was at the end of January. The heating was difficult to operate and took time to respond. Floorboards made it a bit noisy underfoot. Would have appreciated a rug in the seating area. Downstairs cupboard has a stale, damp mop which was quite smelly caused a bit of a smell for the rest of the area.

Beautiful Old Cottage Positive: An absolutely ideal location. Such a cute old cottage updated where it mattered but still with lots of period features. Well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and nice towels. Spotlessly clean. Negative: The stairs could be a bit difficult for someone with mobility issues. Very tight and slippery. Can't really get around it with a place this old but worth considering.
