Welcoming comfortable well-equipped beautiful base to explore NY Moors Positive: Really beautifully decorated, spacious, private parking, great for Families with playground round the corner. Negative: Bannister came off wall on first use. Coffee machine had no pods. Could some be included with property hire otherwise it doesn’t get used as a particular brand of pod is needed. I couldn’t get any before leaving.

The house itself was nicely done out, but very dusty and dirty bathrooms. We asked for twin beds, which was described in the description and I asked for this to be confirmed on two occasions. The beds weren’t set up when we arrived and we were promised they’d be done the next day. They still weren’t. We were then promised that evening they’d be done, they still weren’t. I had to go out and buy bedding for my daughter so she had a bed to sleep in. Not acceptable when it was promised on arrival. It’s the main reason we booked the accommodation as we needed twin rooms. The neighbours dog was constantly barking also. Something to consider for people booking. Wouldn’t recommend host & stay and wouldn’t recommend a stay at Damson Cottage!

Damson cottage was amazing, top of the range furnishings and fixtures and fittings. Central to so many places of interest, good bus links if you want to ditch the car. No hesitation in recommending to anyone.

Beautiful, clean and well equipped cottage.

We had a very nice stay. it was very cosy and warm. Helpful messages and updates and the helpline Staff also very help Positive: Very well decorated and fitted out internally. All very new inside. Looks just like the photos. Negative: Access is down a very narrow lane and parking is not next to the property. Some damp patches internally that need attention. Some black mould starting to appear in the upstairs shower.

Negative: Heating system difficult to regulate. Two nights no heating, one night very warm. TV signal weak.

Excellent Positive: Fantastically clean, modern with all mod cons, allocated parking, comfortable seating and beds. 1 minute walk to bangers and cash. Negative: Our only regret was we didn’t stay long enough !

Lovely cottage in an ideal spot. Notes left for heating / bin etc also mentioned please respect the neighbour. I feel you probably forgot to tell the neighbour to respect the guests next door!! Barking dog in the garden 6.30am both mornings of our stay plus knocking and banging 8.30pm in the evenings. So yes Lovely cottage a credit to the owners but dont expect a quiet stay unless the neighbours move !!

Amazing stay in a stunning village. Host was easy to contact and would definitely book another trip there !

A very disappointing experience. The beds had not been made up per repeated and confirmed prior written request and poor communication via overseas call centre enabled only a partial resolution following two uncomfortable nights for a guest with medical conditions. Remote was buried and invisible in side of sofa meaning TV was unusable for one day with no host resolution. Complaint to host unaddressed after stated 10 working days response time because complaints team stated as being very busy with other complaints. Airbnb provided partial financial compensation for part of the stay but Host and Stay were unable to record the whole booked stay with Airbnb. Only book a Host and Stay property if confident there will be no issues to resolve quickly during visit.

Perfectly located to use as a base to visit nearby attractions. Positive: Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Very spacious and comfortable. Negative: Would have been nice if it had a garden but appreciate there’s not a lot of space.

Damson cottage was a wonderful base for our stay in Yorkshire. The cottage was beautiful and had such good links with public transport that we didn’t have to drive every day. Such a peaceful setting and lovely walks.

Great property and location Positive: Lovely property, looks recently refurbished, plenty space,nice and central for getting about Negative: Main bedroom only has 2 single beds put together, very hard matress with bumps and the join very uncomfortable,not a great sleep,could do with a matress topper on it,would benefit from full length mirror.although cleaned to a good standard it could do with cobwebs on windows and attention to detail would make it great 4pm check in a bit late and to ask extra payment to get in at 3pm a bit cheeky,should be included in price,constant reminders about check out time,we were away for 9am

Was a perfect location. The cottage had everything. Well laid out and modern. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms. Two minute walk into the village. Only two things that let it down was despite reporting we had no towels and being told some would be delivered. None turned up. And the trays in the oven could have been cleaner. But it didn't spoil the weekend

Fabulous cottage, good location, home from home kind of property. Positive: Really spacious, had everything you need. Modern furniture, comfy beds. Quiet location, nice but small outside space. We will definitely book the cottage again Negative: The garden was totally separate from the cottage, it wasn’t an area you could use.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. As we arrived before the check in we explored the town before we could access the house at 4pm. The instructions were clear and detailed how to access the parking and entrance. I had some issues with opening key box but lady on the phone was super helpful. Cottage was very wam through our stay despite low temperatures outside. Everything was spotless clean and made our stay cosy and pleasant.

This lovely cottage has been renovated to a very high standard. Very well equipped. En suite bathroom for each bedroom was an unexpected bonus. Great location with lots to do in the local area. A great base to explore North Yorkshire! Thank you.

We had a great stay in Damson Cottage. The cottage is beautiful, and is well and tastefully equipped. We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend both the accommodation and setting of Thornton Dale to others. We have stayed in numerous AirBnB places before and this stands out as one of the best.

Absolutely beautiful Damson Cottage! Positive: Damson Cottage was absolutely beautiful. It's been tastefully modernised but also kept some of the original features. The way it's been decorated is gorgeous and everything has been done to a very high standard. The kitchen, bathrooms and furniture are all lovely and it feels really homely. There was everything you need for a comfortable stay. I loved the slogans on the toilet rolls! The cottage is only a few minutes walk into the really pretty village of Thornton-le-Dale with it's lovely independent shops, pubs (except the New Inn) and especially the bakery. Lovely scenic walks around the village. I really enjoyed our stay and would love to return and would definitely recommend. Negative: Nothing, we didn't want to go home!

Great house in a great location! Very easy to get to everything and really lovely walks from the village. The house has everything you need, is lovely and warm and spacious.

The house is very comfortable and is well-appointed.

Damson Cottage very well refurbished and equipped to a high standard. No issue with description or condition when we arrived. BUT there were some issues. No hand towel, no kitchen roll, no scouring/sponge pads for washing up in kitchen. No written instructions for the heating/thermostat, which proved difficult to operate. Not possible to fulfil the request to turn the thermostat down and RETAIN that lower temperature on the thermostat when leaving the property empty during the day. Although Services tried to help the outcome was stalemate. The instructions for using the fancy new oven were in French NOT in English. Had to go by guess work. The microwave proved another challenge when trying to simply cook a jacket potato. For two ladies in their seventies it was an impossible task. Too high tech. Both bedside lights in top bedroom were not working. The top bedroom was also quite cold on the three November mornings that we stayed. In the summer this would probably be ok. Over to you!

A little gem! Positive: This was a very high standard of accommodation, which is very difficult to fault! I highly recommend it. Negative: The insurance fee, which was quite reasonable, was hidden. It should have been upfront. It is a little difficult to find the parking space and then the cottage.

A wonderful cottage with a lovely vibe. Everything was spotlessly clean. The cottage is cosy and well equipped, a great base for exploring the surrounding area, including the village, which is very pretty. Bear in mind you are required to put down a refundable breakage deposit or take out the host's insurance in order for the booking to be confirmed (details available on their website). Would definitely stay again.

Damson Cottage was just as advertised. The cottage was very clean and well stocked. Getting in to the cottage was easy and it looked amazing, even better than the website. We enjoyed a lovely weeks holiday ay Damson Cottage and the neighbours and locals were very friendly too. We would highly recommend the Host & Stays listing page.
