A brilliant find. A lovely, well-equipped and conveniently located home. There are endless walks in all directions, the beds are comfortable, the log burner very cosy and the views breathtaking. An added bonus is having two superb pubs within a a 5-minute walk. Thoroughly recommend. Hope to return in the not too distant future.

Beautiful Location, but Overpriced and Poorly Managed Positive: We loved the peaceful location and stunning views. However, please be aware that it is quite far from any shops or other amenities. Parking is available, but the access and parking space are better suited to smaller cars. Negative: We were disappointed by several aspects of our stay. Having to chase the agent for the door code was particularly frustrating. Despite sending several emails and making a few phone calls, we struggled to get the information we needed to access the property. As you deal with an agent rather than the host directly, the lack of communication made us feel anxious and annoyed before we had even arrived. The bathroom was cold, and the supply of firewood for the fireplace was limited. We were also disappointed to find that dogs were not allowed upstairs, which is worth knowing if you are travelling with pets. Another inconvenience was being asked to take our rubbish to a designated collection point at the train station, which felt rather unreasonable. Although the location is peaceful and the views are stunning, the overall experience did not justify the price. We felt the property was overpriced, particularly considering the communication issues and the inconveniences we encountered during our stay.

A great time to relax and explore the Lake District with our friends and Furry friend. Positive: Location was beautiful and it was great to have the steam train railway outside our front door and Dalgarth Train Station a short walk down the railway track. We liked the Cottage very much the beds were comfortable and the cottage was clean and tidy, the host left tea, coffee and Milk for our arrival. I would recommend this cottage and would visit again. Great local pubs which were very welcoming and great food and drink.

We had a wonderful long weekend in this lovely, cozy cottage with our 2-year-old and our dog. The area is beautiful and peaceful, and the landscape in the morning is absolutely the best - such a lovely way to start the day. The beds were very comfortable, the shower was great, and the whole cottage had such a warm and cozy feel. It was the perfect place for a relaxing family getaway, and we really enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely loved our 4-night stay at this beautifully quaint cottage. My sister and I were visiting the Lake District mainly to climb Scafell Pike, and the location was perfect — just a 30-minute drive away. Having two double bedrooms was ideal for us, and the cottage had such a lovely, cosy feel. The bathroom is small but has everything you need, and the shower was fantastic with plenty of lovely hot water. We ate out every day, so we didn’t really use the kitchen, but it looked to have everything you’d need if you wanted to cook. The neighbours were also incredibly friendly and gave us some great tips about the area. There’s a really useful guidebook in the cottage too, with lots of recommendations for local pubs and cafés. We particularly loved the Sawmill Café and Farm Shop for breakfast - definitely worth a visit! All in all, we had a wonderful stay and felt really at home here. A gorgeous little cottage in a beautiful part of the Lake District, and we’d happily stay again.

My husband and son really enjoyed the location. The host checked in with us to ensure they had everything they needed and also provided local suggestions and advise for their climb. The view is stunning. The local pub served brilliant food too. Definately would come again

A very unique place in a unique location.

We had a lovely stay here in the Lake District. The location was superb, and the fireplace made it very cozy in the evenings. The only thing I would say is it lacked some necessities, such as hand soap. We also only had one match for the fire meaning we had to go out and buy a lighter ourselves.

Positive: It was very cosy and quirky and an amazing and peaceful location right by the station with great views and fun sheep neighbours Negative: The windows could have been cleaner. There was no hand soap provided

Location was perfect for getting into the backcountry with a few good pubs near the cottage. Positive: Location! Perfect for exploring the backcountry, nearby pubs with good food and a nice quaint swimming hole withn walking distance if you take road towards the Dalegarth Campsites (at the Eskdale War Memorial and Boot School House). Shhh, don't tell anyone else. Negative: A little tricky to find with the GPS. There's a little sign posted to a tree in front of the Stanley House but probably needs to have an arrow showing that's where you turn. Stop by the grocery beforehand as there is not much closeby.

Lovely comfortable cottage. Positive: Lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and close to the La'al Ratty. Local pub within walking distance.

Lovely little cottage, in a great spot. Two lovely pubs within easy walking distance as well as the cafe at the rail station. The house was very comfortable, the beds exceptionally so. Good shower too and comfy sofas.

Myself and my partner decided to visit the lakes with a few other friends and at last minute, we found this location and couldn’t be happier with the place, clean, tidy, enough room and couldn’t of wished for anything better. Was gutted to leave and return to normality however after a quick chat both me and the others agreed we will be returning at some point. Couldn’t recommend this location enough.

Amazing Positive: Beautiful, clean and comfy stay in a wonderful cottage in the Lake District what else could anybody want?! Fantastic clear instructions from host. The cottage was clean, comfy and had everything you would need with amazing views. Highly recommend to anybody

Wow! This place was an amazing find. We were the second guests to ever stay and we absolutely loved it. The house was perfect and right in the valley of all the mountains. The neighbours were absolutely lovely, they recommended a local walk and it’s now one of our favourite walks of all time. You can walk up Scarfell Pike from the cottage if you don’t mind a few km first. Will absolutely be back.
