This cottage was absolutely immaculate. Beautifully clean and very recently decorated. Stunning views at the back, typical farm yard feel out front. We loved the local free range hens who were lovely; very tame and friendly. Lots of great places to visit nearby. A good sized and well maintained garden at the back. Would be lovely in the warmer weather. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children. The property was plenty big enough and the kitchen was well equipped. Effective heating which warmed the place up quickly when it was cold. Would definitely stay here again.

Grandchildren loved it Positive: The cottage was well equipped. And a good size. Clean. The garden and bonus for grandchildren Negative: Shower head kept dipping. Road works by water board made days out longer because of diversion. Maybe some childrens games.

Lovely cottage with a not so lovely neighbour. Positive: The cottage was lovely, very clean and it was fairly private except next door neighbour. It is a great home from home & very comfortable. The view from the back garden is onto a lovely big field. Negative: The neighbour was very rude to us while we were in the garden. The neighbour has chickens in her garden which of course attracted the attention of my daughter who loves chickens & my autistic nephew, the were stood at the fence looking at them when she came out & said to stop looking over her fence at the chickens as that is her private garden. The fence was small & very easy to see over so we did not see there being an issue just looking but obviously she did, her attitude really hurt my 4.5year olds feelings - it really upset her.

Location hard to find but once located it was easy to enter nice and clean apart from a few bits of cutlery. Fresh feel inside and loads of kitchen crockery which was great. Non stick pans are no longer non stick and need replacing. Wifi didn’t really work and couldn’t get online to see the online guidebook they messaged us. Couldn’t find the router so tv was a no go and teens a bit miffed! Rooms spacious and everything else we used worked. Lovely big garden space. 2 car parking one behind the other. Would book again. 2 nights not long enough!

We absolutely loved our stay at Croft Cottage. It’s a beautiful, peaceful setting and the cottage is spotless, cosy, and impressively well-equipped — it really has everything you need. The owner is lovely and clearly takes great pride in the home. A couple of practical notes: you’ll need a car for shops and exploring, and Host & Stay’s management style is a little more formal with tight check‑in/check‑out times. But none of this takes away from how charming and comfortable the cottage is. We’d happily return.

Acceptable but not outstanding Negative: No egg cups. No clocks. Small bath. No air fryer. Travel directions out of date - road was not blocked. Garden lacked interest.

Brilliant property in an amazing location

Positive: Everything! The cottage was lovely, had everything we needed, was in a great spot with easy parking, cottage was cosy but much bigger than we thought so was great for a few people. Beds comfy, no farm noise. Negative: Only thing I would suggest would be small tvs in the bedrooms so guests can relax in bed watching TV after a long day out.

We had a great time making memories! Positive: Owners were lovely. All the family were very welcoming. My Daughter wants hens and the owner left food out so that she could feed the hens. They then let her hold them which was above and beyond what they needed to do. The Owners gave her lots of advice which was lovely. The layout of the cottage was perfect especially when we had my Father-in -Law who is not good on his feet! Everything you could imagine you needed was there! The area is stunning and accesible to so many touristy places. We will be returning!! Thank you! Negative: There was nothing I did not like, we made great memories!

We had a fantastic break at Croft cottage. It was very clean, well appointed and in a beautiful area. Communication from host and stay was very good. would definitely recommend.

This cottage was a great base for our family. Plenty of space for everyone and a great garden for the children to run around in. A beautiful and peaceful place. This is our second visit and it won’t be our last.

Wonderful stay, the only drawback was checking in 4pm in the winter when it’s dark. Thought 2pm or 3pm would be fairer as check out is 10am especially on a short break.

Enjoyable from start to finish - cottage, location and interesting places. Positive: Cottage: clean warm. Clean towels, linen and a well equipped kitchen. Location: close to many places of interest. Quiet, friendly neighbours in the village. Included Wifi - used to organise trips out. Negative: Nothing. All good. Enoyable

Sadly there was major roadworks during our stay even on the Sunday that we were not made aware of however I am sure that when this work is completed it will return to being a beautiful peaceful place. We ere delighted with the place overall.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Dale’s property. From the moment we booked, everything was seamless and exceeded our expectations. Communication with Charlie was prompt, friendly, and incredibly efficient, making the entire process stress-free and straightforward. Upon arrival, the house was so warm and clean, and superbly organised, which immediately set the tone for a wonderful stay. The space itself was immaculate—spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and thoughtfully designed, creating an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Every detail was carefully curated to ensure comfort and convenience. The location was idyllic! Overall, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Charlie and Dale went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, and we can’t recommend them or their property highly enough. We’re already looking forward to our next visit—thank you for making this stay so special!
