perfect little cottage for us, myself my wife and my 11 year old son

Great accomodation,onsite farmer was a huge help when it wasnt his problem but avoid "host and stay" Positive: Beautiful apartment, great scenery all round and a nice quiet location. Negative: Huge hidden insurance charge (£250 up front on arrival and 2 full weeks to get it back minus £10 admin or £25 fee non refundable) not shown on description anywhere. We were given a fake code to the key box via email and after a 2 hour drive to get there, we rang "host and stay" and they text a link to pay them extra money. We had very little signal to do this and not enough money on the original credit card to pay them their extortionate demands. Took over an hour to complete while the kids were desperate for the toilet. When we finally got in, the boiler did not work for heating or water. Host and stay did not answer the phone to help but the onsite farmer was really helpful and luckilly knew someone else to call. He was a god send. The accomodation was great but will avoid host and stay at all costs with underhand tactics they use to squeeze money out of customers.

Negative: Lighting in the accom was poor due to small windows. Altho main electric lighting bright. Could maybe benefit from another lamp or up lighter once main lights are not needed.

An absolutely beautiful property in the picturesque countryside of County Durham. Stylist and comfortable interior with all mod cons in a quiet rural setting but not too far for walks around Hadrian’s Wall and Northumberland. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this property to anyone looking for a special and relaxed place to stay whilst enjoying the area.

Lovely little unit in the countryside with all we needed for a great stay with friends. Lots of walks and small villages Positive: Lovely rural location Clean and quiet Good venue to share a stay away with a couple of friends. Negative: Upstairs room entered directly from staircase, no door. Very creaky floor.

Good but could be better. Positive: The Cottage was nice good location. Peaceful. Well equipped. Comfortable. Negative: Smelly mop and bucket in wardrobe. Made the whole house smell stagnant. Cleaning could have been better. Car parking not outside the property.

A pleasant, well proportioned property.Quite rural position, but close enough to the main road to make access easy.The local flock of Guinea Foul quite a surprise.

Nice place to stay and peaceful surroundings. Lovely little cottage. Didn’t realise second bedroom on balcony didn’t have a door but everything was nice and slept very well.

This was our second stay at Cote, the cottage is very comfortable, clean and warm. The kitchen is well equipped, however the cottage is quite remote so if you are arriving later in the day I would recommend taking essentials with you. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Would definitely stay again.

Cote is a lovely, but very basic, barn conversion among a group of others. Great location, parking on site but not next to the property, quiet and comfortable. It is let down by a few things that have been reported back to Host & Stay. If you are used to a few treats or home from home when staying in properties this is not the place, but if you are after a comfortable basic base then it is great.

Fabulous place, great information provided on the initial instructions and detail on the local area. Clean and tidy, great location.

Lovely cabin with plenty of parking. Very clean and comfortable. WiFi was a little slow and there’s no mobile data but other than that it was ideal.

We really enjoyed our stay.

The house itself is nice and the location is beautiful. Unfortunately it wasn’t cleaned that well for when I arrived. Dust and dead bugs on the windowsills. And then stained bedding as well. They did arrange a cleaner to change the bedding, however the clean bedding was just left on the kitchen table.

Positive: 2 delightful days, a quiet area, 4 very welcoming houses, but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. The trash was not taken in the bedrooms, in the bathrooms full of cobwebs.
