Really nice cottage, very spacious and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Only thing was it was right next to a busy main road which was pretty noisy during the day. Other than that, beautiful surroundings, and easy to get to Castle Howard, Helmsley and not too far from York. Lovely bakery in the village and pub in the next village along, Slingsby, was great - The Grapes Inn.

Poor ! Positive: The property was old and had lots of character. Negative: The property was in need of a of some work and lots of TLC. The white goods were old and worn out !

The property is in a stunning location, with a gorgeous bakery opposite. It’s lovely and peaceful too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend a visit to Helmsley if you stay here. The garden is lovely and we enjoyed sitting out. It’s a lovely house. The beds were super comfortable and we all slept really well. The wi-fi isn’t great and we couldn’t get the TV to work as has been mentioned in other reviews but that didn’t matter too much to us. We also had some issues getting the oven to work but the host tried to help and was very responsive to messages. Definitely worth a visit.

Well written entrance pack but sadly only available on line, as there was no mobile reception in the village, it was difficult to gain access to the cottage (local restaurant helped). Good WiFi coverage once accessed and inside the property, good amount of hot water and decent pressure. Comfy beds. Curtains let the early morning light it. TV had no reception or connectivity to WiFi Fairly priced with good communication. We’d stay there again
