A small, quirky but cozy stay! Excellent value for money. Positive: It is uniquely small and quirky! Negative: I must stress these aren’t complaints, and we didn’t not like these points, but more of a warning for people when booking. There are a LOT of stairs, it wouldn’t be suitable for someone who struggles with walking. Nor would it be suitable for really tall people. It’s a bath only with a shower head, but you can’t stand up to use the shower head, so if you struggle to get in and out of a bath it wouldn’t be suitable. The carpets need a clean, but it’s dog friendly so we didn’t really care. Made us feel less nervous about our 2 dogs!

Positive: Clean enough and comfortable, cute little flat, dog friendly. Decor was nice, bed comfortable. Fairly close to Whitby centre if you don’t mind a walk. Easy check in. Negative: The shower wasn’t an easy experience with no overhead shower, and low ceiling so you’d struggle if you’re tall. Coffee and tea provided, but coffee was decaf so had to buy our own. There was a sealed, in date milk in the fridge but it was off and lumpy :( Lots of stairs but wasn’t really an issue.

Cosy , clean and quiet! Positive: Really cosy and clean loft apartment, only 20 min walk to into Whitby town, dog friendly . Quiet and tucked away - apart from the seagulls around the windows, but we found it part of the experience of being in Whitby so didn’t bother us at all! Negative: No designated parking, but we found on street free parking 2 min walk away

We had a wonderful weekend, the apartment couldn't have suited us any better. Will book again 100% Positive: Great location as we took our dog and had a nice 10 minute walk to the centre of Whitby. The apartment was a cosy little retreat perfect for us to enjoy. We couldn't pick a fault with the accommodation. Negative: It's not the fault of the apartment as most of Whitby is like it but with no where to park at the apartment it made it a pain to unload but as we come to Whitby often we're used to that. Attic apartment so a few stairs but meant you got great views out the window.

Positive: Small bright space with everything we needed, at the top a steep narrow staircase that was a challenge with a dog and bags! Nice kitchen space and helpful bottle of milk and biscuits provided. Comfortable bed. Good telly and comfy sofa. Bathroom nice but had to have a shower sitting in the bath due to low ceiling. It's a characterful space though, as you'd expect in Whitby. Seagulls on the roof also to be expected! Good location 15 minutes' stroll into town. Negative: We enjoyed our stay. The only thing I didn't enjoy was having to pay a £25 non returnable damage waiver fee to Host and Stay and give my name, address, phone number and birthdate to another company (Superhog!) so that they could check my identity. I would otherwise have had to provide a £250 deposit, returnable 14 days after my stay, plus a non returnable £10 'admin fee'. I have never been required to do this in the past. I therefore regretfully will not be using Host and Stay properties on Booking.com again. A shame, because they manage some nice properties.

a relaxing and comfortable stay would stay again Positive: the soothing relaxing decor. it had everything you needed. the bed was super comfy, the sofa was great to relax on. had netflix and amazon prime Negative: the water even after being turned up wasn’t really hot and the bath was luke warm and went cold soon after getting in so couldn’t laze around in it. also it was freezing the first 6 hours until it warmed up, it was february and there had been no heating put on. we had taken a throw for our dog and had get wrapped up in it and put coats on until heating warmed the place through about midnight

Flat is decorated to a good standard and contains all mod cons that you will require. Great that you accept guests with dogs. Shame about the lack of parking, but not really anything that can be done about that. Shower is a little impractical due to layout of bathroom. Location isn’t too far from Whitby sea front, only a 10 min walk which was ideal.

We enjoyed our stay and the apartment had everything we needed for a weekend in Whitby! It is basic and compact but we felt good value and was ideal for what we needed. Some maintenance is required such as the bedroom window leaking in the rain and the cold tap in the kitchen not operational. Parking was tricky but we knew it would be - just a shame the reserved (for other apartment) spaces were empty all weekend but we couldn’t use them. We knew this in advance of booking though so not a complaint. A cheap and cheerful weekend!

fantastic little place within a 10 minute walk of whitby Town centre. Great communication and well worth the money.

Nice property minus cleanliness issues. Decent value for money Positive: Good distance from the town centre. Nice information booklet left by hosts. Negative: Was not the cleanest property. House keeping had to come back to change sheets upon arrival as they were stained. General cleanliness of flat could have been better. Broken blind in bedroom.

Lovely air bnb so cosy and done up nicely with a seaside theme. Would stay again if went back to Whitby perfect for couples. Good location to get to Whitby and also to Robin Hood’s bay!

The cooks cabin was clean and cosy. It was in a great location with the town in easy walking distance. The only minor issue being the sloped ceilings in the bathroom, my partner is 6ft1 and kept banging his head on the low ceiling!

Positive: The rooms were light and airy and very clean. The location is good and it was very quiet, much better than I thought it would be on such a busy road Negative: The stairs to the room are something else, very steep. The heating wasn't working, which wouldn't normally be an issue, but it was really uncomfortablly cold on my first night. Also the smoke alarm kept beeping so I had to take the batteries out, which isn't very safe.

Seaside comfort Positive: The place was very clean, cosy and secure. Perfect for me. Negative: Hard to find fault, but the pans weren't great.

Just what we needed Positive: How it felt so homely. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Will be using again and for longer. Thank you. Negative: Please don't take it bad. Take this as constructive. Living room rug and some carpets had some lasting stains. I myself understand somethings happen and they're difficult to correct. But some people probably won't be so understanding and may even darn right horrible about it.

Great apartment - we really enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely amazing, would highly recommend, we are already planning our next visit! Positive: We’ve been to lots of places on little weekends away, this was one of our favourites if not favourite, from the start to finish, They were so accommodating. Negative: We loved everything, My only note would be if you are unsteady on stairs or your feet there are a lot of stairs to get to, but was not an issue for us or our dog! we were concerned due to reviews saying how bad the stairs were!

The space of the apartment is definitely more compact than the photos suggested. Overall location is good & the place has what you would need for a short stay. Notable downsides: Large ball of matted hair was rolled up inside one of the towels! Mattress was very springy, limescale in kettle, layer of dust on some furnishings, stains & marks on walls & carpet. Seeing as though there are 6 hours to refresh & clean the apartment (check in being 4pm & check out 10am) it is surprising even with 6hrs to turn this small space around it was still not spotless & attention to detail was lacking.

Great location and decorated nicely, allows dogs but not necessarily dog friendly e.g. dogs not allowed in bath to rinse off after beach or anything else to cater to dogs but an overall nice place to stay as walkable to everything and easy to find parking within 5-10 minute walk and definitely worth the money

Positive: The lay out of the apparent. Like the location and the views. The fact that we paid £50 for cleaning and the place wasn't that clean....awesome Negative: Needs a cleaning. We paid £50 to cover the cost of cleaning and it wasn't clean AGAIN. 4 times we've stayed, we had to buy antibacterial wipes to clean it ourselves

It’s a nice cozy flat that’s only a 10 minute walk away from the sea-front! I’d highly recommend if you’re visiting for a few days!

lovely little place to stay but its worth noting that there are an aweful lot of stairs leading up to the flat including actually inside the flat.

Would definitely recommend this stay & we will most definitely be booking again. Perfect location, 7 min walk down the road to the Whitby harbour and 12 min walk back up the road to the apartment. Dog friendly which was perfect for our getaway.

Stayed here for 6 weeks on a placement in Whitby the location was ideal and the size of the space was perfect for one person. Over all I would recommend staying here it’s is a lovely space and was ideal for what I needed.

Good location for Whitby without being to deep into the town. to get into town it's a 10/15 minute walk down a hill. the address that we put in Google maps took us to a house with a car park about 7 houses down so was quite hard to locate as we arrived in the dark. lots of stairs to get to the apartment but we didn't mind that. nice views from the rear windows. getting a shower was a bit awkward (you can see that from the photos) but was fun nonetheless! the cold tap in the kitchen wasn't working and I couldn't get the heating on (user error!) so I phoned and chatted to a nice lady and someone came to to sort it whilst we were out. will say that the bathroom door just wouldn't stay closed, had to wedge the bin in front of the door but even then it wasn't fully closed. think that needs looking at especially as people value their privacy. despite the little issues and quirks we would stay here again and I was impressed with the customer service that we were offered

Excellent but dirty Positive: The location is excellent. The bed was very comfy. The kitchen has everything you need. The sofa was comfy. Wonderful bathroom. If you get up early, you can watch the sun rise. Views of Whitby Abbey. Negative: The draws in the bedroom were very dirty. There was goo in there with hairs in them. We had to clean them with antibacterial wipes. We also had to vacuum the bedroom carpet as it had black and blonde hairs on it and a dead fly. And they charged us £50 for cleaning !! Also the cold water tap in the kitchen was broken. I had to bodge a repair. Did leave a voicemail however no one got back to us.

Our fabulous week in Whitby.... Positive: It had everything we needed including towels & linen. It presented exactly as the photos advertised. Lovely colour scheme. It felt like a little home from home. Negative: Seagulls on the roof !!! But no amount of planning can help with them 😆

Great apartment in a good location Positive: Cosy and well equipped Negative: There was a wall with flaky paint. There were lots of spiders in the apartment.

The place was as described, a bit of a hike up to the top. The apartment was clean and airy,and you wouldn't know you were by a main road.

Negative: If you are over 6 foot take a hard hat with you. The light at the top of the stairs comes on and off all night. The stairs at so steep it’s like climbing up a cliff wall.

Short walk down a steep hill into lovely Whitby. Lots of nice walks along the coast and pleasant walk up to the Abbey. Lots of little independent shops to visit. I found some free parking just found the corner on the street past the ambulance station leading down to the town. Perfect base for other places to explore like Robin Hoods Bay and York.

The accommodation itself, Cooks Cabin, was perfectly adequate. Lounge area was comfortable; kitchen well appointed; bedroom comfortable. The attic space bathroom meant no room for a shower and the bath was dated and scored so we decided against it. Main issue for us was the cigarette smell which hit you from the moment we entered the front door. The location, on the main road south out of Whitby, very close to a junction, was pretty noisy. Thankfully the bedroom was at the back of the property, so was quiet. The other main issue was the lack of any parking, especially when unloading and loading. It's too close to the busy junction to pull up outside. In terms of value for money, I guess it's the going rate for this popular resort in the summer, so no complaints there. Overall perfectly fine, but I think these limitations need to be clearer before booking, to make a better informed decision.

Great little flat. Clean bright and cosy, within a short walk of the harbour and attractions.

Home from home. Lovely. Positive: The decor. The bathroom has been improved. Bedroom was as lovely as ever. The kitchen has everything you need. Sofa was as comfy as we remember ( second time we,ve been). Negative: The chest of draws (inside the draws) needed cleaning.One had a dirty dried out bug. They were dirt. We didn't use them as we were only staying 2 full days. Didn't at all spoil our stay.

Positive: Had everything we needed. Negative: I didn't actually realise it was in the attic. However that is my fault. But this would, unfortunately stop me booking this property again as my husband is quite tall and had to be careful to not keep banging his poor head. Also, the bath is tiny and it was impossible to use the shower attachment to shower with, even for me and I'm not tall. Probably not ideal for someone with mobility issues either, due to the amount of stairs to access the property.

Nice Positive: Was in a close enough location, nice clean and cosy inside the property. Negative: The shower is impossible to stand up in unless you are 2ft tall, so baths only which isn’t ideal. And the milk in the fridge was out of date.

Overall the bathroom spoilt my break away. This apartment is nearly always available compared to others in Whitby. If th Positive: The living area was comfortable and a good sized tv was provided with Netflix. The bedroom nice with clean carpets and bed was comfortable too. The biscuits and milk was a nice gesture. Negative: Firstly the stairs to get into the actual apartment were really difficult to get up and totally dangerous. A nice bathroom is as ways important for me this was definitely not a modern bathroom as stated. There is no shower apart from a shower head in the bath. The water was tepid so a nice bath is out of the question. There were horrendous holes in the wood next to the toilet. The toilet struggled to flush. The toilet seat was very small and old looking. The overall finish in the bathroom was dreadful. The only door that would shut correctly was the living area door. I didn’t dare shut the bathroom and bedroom doors as I would of had to slam them. The bedding and a towel had stains on. The kitchen utensils were dirty and I opened the cupboard to see chips out of the bowls. I needed a pair of scissors to tie a bandage and none per present. There should of at least had a small pair in the medical box. The freezer needed defrosting badly. There was no coffee machine availability either.

Uneventful, so okay. Positive: Quiet. Comfortable. Clean. Nice tv. Large bed. Negative: No shower. Top of a hill. Steep stairs.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES CONSIDER THIS NIGHTMARE OF AN APARTMENT Positive: Tried my hardest to think of something positive. Nothing, unfortunately. Negative: I cannot stress enough how much of a disaster this place is. The pictures online are nothing but a cruel joke, as you step into this pit of filth and decay. I sincerely regret the moment I made the mistake of booking this hovel. Bathroom was a traumatising experience. I can tolerate mud that we found (I don’t mind wiping it off either) but what really put me off was alleged pubic hair meticulously scattered in the bathtub. The sheer audacity of the management to consider this acceptable is beyond comprehension. There were also stains over the hard surfaces it was just so obvious the flat wasn’t cleaned properly. There were also dirty dishes just shoved in the cupboard (put us off to use the kitchen obviously), I’m surprised we’ve not seen any cockroaches. As if the dirt wasn't enough, the place is a literal crumbling disaster. Outdated would be a generous description. The wallpaper is falling off the walls, begging for mercy, while wooden bits in the bathroom have fully embraced rot. To add insult to injury, the cleaner, or should I say, the epitome of rudeness, decided to make her grand entrance just as we were wrapping up our traumatic stay. Fifteen measly minutes late for check-out, and I was greeted with a barrage of unfounded demands to leave immediately. While I understand the need to stick to a schedule, there was absolutely no reason for her to speak to me with such disdain. We go to Whitby all the time, at least 4-5 times a year. This was in fact our wedding weekend; we booked this place instead of our usual guest house to have some privacy, yet we found ourselves trapped in a dilapidated nightmare. Save yourself the heartache and avoid this despicable excuse for an apartment at all costs.

The apartment was OK for the price we paid just needed a good clean the batteries needed replacing in the TV remote also the kitchen clock needed the battery replacing the bathroom picture didn't show the damage around the toilet which was a little poor overall i had a reasonable stay no more no little

Positive: The apartment was very clean, bright, and stylish. Negative: Being at the top of the house ment there's a lot of steps to climb. * not suitable for people over 5ft 10. Or mum's in their 80's

The post code takes you to a guesthouse down the street, luckily they were lovely and helped us find the property, but be aware. The location is great, only a short walk down the hill to the center of Whitby, couldn't have asked for better.

Lovely accommodation, we'll equipped - altho lots of stairs to climb, and hill down to town! On tiptoes, good view from top floor. Great base to explore Whitby. However it proved impossible to contact the host over 2 queries we had. And a bit stingy with the toilet paper!

Positive: beaches around Negative: no iron and ironing board, no washing machine, no parking, no garden, unusable pans, damaged elements of the bathtub casing, damaged shower hose, one roll of toilet paper. Some things need improvement

would stay again. Positive: good location. lovely layout. nice and quiet. Negative: the bathroom floor isn’t fit properly so comes up round the edges. only left one toilet roll and barely any kitchen roll. no car parking space.

Facilities inside apartment not bad, except for the tv ,which would not get current ordinary tv, wou Positive: Not a lot, parking was a long way away, and every thing to apartment was uphill. Negative: The smart tv would only get recorded programmes, could not get current programmes on, informed the relevant people of this but they did zero about it, poor customer service. and the stairs to the flat were downright dangerous in the event of emergency escape, must be illegal.

Positive: Lovely apartment with everything you need for a fantastic stay. The bed was so comfortable! Negative: Everything was great. Could not fault it.

A lovely home away from home Positive: Location was excellent. Getting to place was so easy. Lovely views from the attic windows. Tastefully decorated. Well equipped kitchen. Comfy bed and sofa. Nice bathroom. Leaving fresh milk and biscuits when we arrived was,an excellent surprise. Negative: Hot tap loose in bathroom. Shower pipe leaked. Tiles on the bath itself could do with attention and the wood panel back of the toilet. But these are such minor things. We have struggled to find things we didn't like.

Home from Home Positive: 10-15 minutes walk to the centre of Whitby. Very clean. All the facilities you need for a self catering break.

Cosy and lovely place with a few things to know in advance. Positive: The room is cosy and well decorated. It's nice to have a kitchen with a fridge and an oven. I didn't use the kitchen much but some milk, biscuits, coffee and tea were prepared for us which I felt really welcoming. Netflix is available if you want a movie night. Overall it's a very well-prepared apartment to stay in. Negative: There were stain marks on the bed linen, rug and sofa throw. I also found someone's hair in the bathtub when I first arrived. Having a shower would be hard for tall people as the slanted ceiling is right above the bathtub. Gulls will make noise in the early morning as the apartment is in the attic.

overall we enjoyed our stay and was good value for money Positive: The living space , which included Netflix and prime on telly , big sized bedroom and kitchen facilities were great. Negative: The bathroom needs some improvements (tiles in side of bath falling , tiny mirror, and not possible to shower. Rug had been cleaned but full of deep stains , it would be better off as room still cozy the property does not have a big mirror in any room, would be an easy improvement people would love

Lovely little apartment Positive: Cooks cabin was a great size for us (a couple with a Dog). The place was comfy and clean. And a 10mintue walk to whitby centre Negative: Lack of parking was a bit of an issue as we had to unload quickly then drive to the harbour to park. The walk back wasn't too bad but you wouldn't want to do it with your baggage.
