Excellent house for our family gathering with great amenities, especially the bathrooms, kitchen and hot tub.

We had a great time - our group was quite diverse in age from having a baby and 2 x 4 year olds. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to accommodate all of us. Place was lovely and clean and we loved the wee surprise that the house offered. Hosts were proactive and kept me up to date. Liked the big living space and also the bedrooms and everyone essentially had their own bathroom. Lovely and would recommend!

Such a beautiful house. Was a perfect relaxing weekend away. Host was responsive and helpful. House was very clean. Would recommend for a family or group of friends, and would definitely stay again if I am in the area.

Brilliant location, ideal for our large family gathering. Extremely clean and comfortable. Did a mixture of cooking in and dining out - the flexibilty and proximity to ammenities was perfect for guests who were relying on public transport and the parking spots were also well used.

We were here celebrating my wife's 30th birthday with our family and friends, and I have to say this house has been an amazing house to host everyone in 1 place! The house is amazing, everyone has commented the house and how fantastic it is! Thanks for having us! The Fairley's

The house was a great place for a family get together with lots to do in the area. The house was so spacious!

Can’t fault it! Had everything we needed. Took a little while to find it all in the amazing kitchen but it does have everything hidden away! Huge rooms, lovely little touches with the hampers. Calm beautiful decor. We stayed as a group with young children and the only thing we found was the lack of somewhere to put them in the kitchen diner because the floors are so hard, so if I was being really picky I could suggest a rug or roll up mat but there was a high chair which was helpful and plenty of crawling space in the lounge.

We had a brilliant stay with a group of friends! The house is lovely and huge with lots of space for everyone. The location is very convenient and we had a fantastic meal at the Thin White Duke in Carlisle. Extra thanks to the owners, who came very quickly to help when there was a little mix up with the other Chatsworth house. A funny story for all! Would highly recommend and definitely hope to return in the future.

Really enjoyed our stay. we were a group of 12 men staying a few nights to go and watch football then the horse racing. It was the perfect place for us and the house was absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this place.

I stayed at this property with a group of friends. Carlisle has a lot to offer and is an easy drive from Lake District and Edinburgh. Our host was very responsive and property was very clean and extremely well maintained. In fact, the online pictures don’t do justice, the house is a lot more impressive in reality. The kitchen was very well stocked with dishes / cutlery even for a large group like ours. We appreciated the fact that the host was considerate enough to leave coffee pods and basic provisions like sugar for our use! Another highlight was on-site private parking which was extremely convenient. Would recommend this property highly.

If you’re staying in/around the Lake District with a large group this is a must book! The house is super clean and really lovely and has plenty of space. Can’t recommend it enough! We will be back

We had a wonderful stay in this house in Carlisle. The pictures really don’t do it justice – the house is much bigger, cleaner and tidier in reality. It was very comfortable for our group, everything was well maintained, and we felt right at home. We would definitely book again without hesitation. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay and enjoyed our time in the spacious location. Would highly recommend for large groups wanting to enjoy some time away as a group with plenty of rooms and areas to sit in and catch up! The steam room shower is fantastic and the hot tub was great. Great stay and host was very helpful with providing relevant information such as parking. I will certainly stay at the same/similar locations again!

We have just returned from a weekends stay at 22 Chatsworth Square, the house was amazing for our family of 12 with everything we needed for a weekend stay! The house is clean and well equipped, great location for local restaurants and attractions and private parking which was a bonus! Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a property in Carlisle to book here.

We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. I have a few observations, however. Please, could you provide more toilet rolls and dish water tablets. I t is not convenient to run out of tablets at 9 in the evening and to have to wash dishes by hand after 10 people have had dinner. It is also rather embarrassing to have to go in search of loo roll .Also, I think it would be helpful if you could provide some extra bin liners. I did not want to write these comments in the visitors' book as it may have seemed petty. Over all, it was a very enjoyable experience and you also provided excellent weather! Thank you, Vee

Lovely house with big spaces, ideal for big groups. A great space and ideal for children too, we have 7 with us from 5 months to 6 years. We will hopefully return in the future.

We travelled down from Scotland to celebrate my Nephews 21st Birthday. There was 12 of us in total ranging from 4 years old to 80 years old & was made up of a mixed group of family and a couple of my Nephews friends. Everyone of us absolutely loved the house & were in awe of how big it was & how amazing some of the rooms are. The place was absolutely spotless and had a great range of amenities. The only thing that let it down slightly was some of the bed frames are quite flimsy, but the mattresses weren't too bad at all. This would not put us off from returning as the house really is stunning inside & we really wanted to stay longer. We didn't venture out much, although some of the boys walked to local shops and said there was places for food & groceries close by. A few of our party used the hot tub which they all loved and is a great addition to the house. The only thing that would make it even better is a lift to cut out all those stairs🤣. Highly recommended by us all. Thanks again.

Beautiful townhouse which was perfect for our girl’s weekend away!

Chatsworth House was an excellent place for our annual weekend away. Lots of little extras that make a massive difference. Eg boxes of cereal, toothbrushes and shower gels, etc The only thing I’d say would have made a huge difference to us was if we could have checked out at 11am instead of 10am.

A big spacious house in the centre of Carlisle. Parking is a problem if you have more than two cars. It was well equipped but bring your own teapot and cafetière. We enjoyed our stay there over New Year.

It was relaxing, comfortable and very pleasant. Positive: Location was excellent, we could walk everywhere in Carlisle Negative: The freezer was over-frosted (only this issue)

Amazing place, great hosts

Avoid this property. Guest safety appears to be a complete afterthought.Our stay was completely ruined by a serious wasp infestation. There was an active wasp nest located above the kitchen door in the backyard (inside a gap beneath the window inside the property). Despite keeping the windows closed, wasps were somehow still entering the property.By the time we realised the extent of the problem, more than 15 to 20 wasps had entered the kitchen and dining area through the doors and windows (in summer). My daughter was stung by a wasp, and I was also stung while trying to remove them and protect my family. When we inspected the backyard, there were approximately 70 to 80 wasps swarming around the area.As a result, we were unable to use the hot tub or spend any time in the backyard. I took numerous photos and videos showing both the live wasps inside and outside and the wasps we had to kill.The situation caused significant stress and anxiety throughout our trip. The children were frightened, and some had to sleep on the sofa because wasps were continuing to appear in the bedroom. What should have been a relaxing family holiday turned into an upsetting experience.Most concerning is the owner's apparent lack of concern for guest safety. Despite providing evidence of the infestation and the wasp stings, the owner has refused to offer any reimbursement or accept responsibility for the issue.

Beautiful house, great location and lots of room. Positive: The location was great, so close the city centre and lots of great restaurants. The rooms were all spacious with lovely en-suites. It’s beautifully decorated and the beds were all comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and lots of glassware. The hot tub was great, secluded and well maintained. Negative: The parking was very tight - the access to the drive is via the lane and it is tough to get large-ish cars manoeuvred into the drive.

We chose this place because it was large enough to accommodate all the family, and every bedroom had an en-suite bath or shower room. It was lovely, clean, lovely architecture and walking distance from the castle, cathedral, shopping centre and kiddies park, but in a quiet location. If you like to know details in advance like I do - The parking held two cars at the back of the house which was great. From the online photo it looks like a patio with a garage door off it though. So, when you get into the house, grab the fob to the garage door from the key pot. Then you need to drive round to the small road that runs round the back of the houses and choose the 2nd garage door (or 2nd from last depending on which way you came down the road) This is important as there were no numbers visible. Open the door with the fob, and park on what looks like the patio. We are already thinking of going there for our next big family get-together. Would highly recommend this as a great place to go!

Had an amazing stay! The house was huge with plenty of space for our group of four families. The kids had so much fun playing hide and seek and all sorts of games around the house. The living room and kitchen were massive, and the jacuzzi was a great bonus. It honestly felt like staying in a movie mansion! Perfect for family get-togethers and making great memories. Would definitely recommend.

The house was easy to find and we'll presented. It was close to the town centre where there are many restaurants/bars/shops. The hottub was great.

fabulous house but Garden area a bit disappointed with over hanging trees from neighbours garden that blocks the Sun..no Tin foil or Cling film in kitchen this would of been helpfully or to let guest know to bring there own

Lovely house just a 5 minute walk from the centre to of Carlisle. Plenty space and well decorated!

Just back from an amazing stay at Chatsworth House. House itself is amazing, lovely big rooms, so much space. Everything was spot on. Hot tub was amazing.

Convent Positive: Location close to centre Characterful period property All bedrooms had ensuites Negative: Overemphasis on rules didn’t make it feel welcoming eg page of rules regarding using the gardens in the square, numerous notices to keep shoes off carpets A bit dark and dingy indoors- poor lighting in some bedrooms Hard to find some items eg potato peeler ( was there one?)

Highly recommend this stunning property Positive: Would have loved to have found the steam room. Negative: Inner door lock needs secured.

I had a fantastic stay at Chatsworth Townhouse and I would definitely stay again. Positive: It accommodated us perfectly Negative: Not being able to check in an hour early was a disappointment as I had quite a lot to arrange before my guests arrived.

We stayed at Chatsworth Townhouse I this past weekend. The check-in was not straightforward. While the place comes with two parking spaces, there were absolutely no instructions on how to access the car park at the back of the property. We had to call Host & Stay multiple times before they finally put us in direct contact with the homeowner. The remote to open the garage was kept next to the coffee machine in the kitchen instead of with the keys, and there were no signs anywhere to tell us that was the case. We ended up spending a good 45 mins trying to figure this out after a 5 hour long drive. Apart from that, the check-in was smooth. The host was kind enough to provide two parking permits as well, which was great. The place itself was fine, and was well-maintained and clean. But the photos made it look way more modern than it was. Please provide full length mirrors in every room (a basic essential, I don’t know why this isn’t provided?).

The house was spotless and had everything you could think of. Walking distance into town and in a great area for visiting in north of England.
