Enjoyed it very much , peaceful. Positive: The property was nice and cosy. Equipped with items we needed like washing up liquid, soap and toilet roll. Not very long of a walk to the centre. Had a lovely time, would come again! Negative: Nothing

It was a little difficult to find as it’s I between an new and old housing estate , but after asking a local person we found it . As another review it is a little remote where a farm once was but so peaceful, well appointed property with everything you need , towels , tea cloths and washing up liquid ( not that we did much ) and only around a 15 minute walk to the quay side where all the shops , bars & restaurants are . Great communication from the host and a very enjoyable stay . Thank you .

Lovely stay for a weekend away. Thank you. Positive: Quiet and peaceful location, was only a short walk into town, with the option of a longer coastal walk into town from the other direction. Comfortable and clean house. Garden was a good size, tidy and useful for our stay. The stable door is a lovely feature. Thanks for the kitkats! Negative: Nothing. One of the knobs didn’t seem to work in the shower and it could do with a bit of mould removal but otherwise nothing else to note.

It was difficult to find but previous reviews had prepared us for this. [I think the owners could perhaps include a photo to help identify the entrance to the single track road leading to the property.] It was clean and tidy and suited our needs very well. The oven controls were well worn/ faded and could only be read by torch light. We had a minor glitch with the hob that appeared not to be working but was put right by switching the power off and then on again. The owners were very quick to respond to our phone call. A big plus was the car parking; there aren't many places to leave the car, for free, in Whitby.

A bit disappointing and we decided to leave a day early. It could be so much better if fixed. Positive: Good size property in a great location. Easy to walk into Whitby or to the Abbey. There is parking available although Booking.com indicates there is not. The property could easily be a 10 out of 10 score if the negative points listed below are addressed. Negative: When we booked the property the description indicated it was new. I thinks what they mean is new to Booking.com because it certainly is not new. The shower was dirty with mould and stains to the grout and sealant; see picture. For us this was totally unacceptable. The bed is a double bed and it would certainly be better if replaced with a king size. The bedroom is large enough. The bed creeks every time you move and the mattress is somewhat uncomfortable. The rear garden is very useful but unkempt. The grass had not been cut for some time.

Third time we’ve been to Whitby & will return. The location of the property feels rural but within 10-15 minutes walk once you find all the shortcuts into town or to the Abbey. Overall the property served its purpose but a couple of small issues - shower not that powerful & doors don’t close fully, the bed isn’t the most comfortable for 2, the sofas are a bit stained & the garden could do with a tidy up.

Relax, peaceful solo trip in a pretty cottage Positive: Perfect location, close to Whitby Abbey, and only 25 min walking distance to town. Well equipped accommodation, clean and great surrounding. Negative: nothing, everything was perfect
