Booked this little gem very last minute when our original accommodation cancelled on the day of arrival. We booked Castle View and we’re glad we did! Fantastic air B&B, spotlessly clean, absolutely everything you could hope for in the kitchen, amazing location with the castle right outside the window - perfect for “dragon watching” for our little boy, walkable to all local amenities. Saved us from the disappointment of our original cancellation, would 10/10 recommend, thank you

lovely little house for exploring Barnard Castle. The house is literally at the bridge into Barnard and easily walkable to shops and restaurants. We found it a little difficult to find as its in the traffic lighted area for the bridge and a little difficult to turn onto but as we weren't using the car during our trip it never bothered us at all. The house was clean and well equipped.
A small map, rather than links to online maps would have been useful.

Loved the cottage and would definitely go again. Positive: It was a beautiful cottage just in the right place for exploring Barnard Castle and surrounding areas. Everything was clean and tidy. Perfect Negative: Nothing really. However do bring milk if you are arriving late also your own toiletries if staying longer than a few days.
We stayed at Castle View for 4 nights because we were attending a wedding at Lartington Hall. We couldn’t have picked a better location. It’s 10 minutes in a taxi to the venue and a 10 minute walk to Barnard Castle. The parking space directly outside the house is a bonus. The house is spacious, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. There is a seating area at the front with an outstanding view of the castle and a courtyard at the back with table and chairs for outside dining. This property comes highly recommended and we will be returning when we are next in the area.

Castle View is in a great location, and true to its name has an amazing view of the castle! The designated free parking space outside is very useful. Inside it was spotlessly clean, well equipped, with comfortable beds and space to relax. The hosts are very friendly and responsive. There are lots of independent shops and places to eat within a few minutes walk, as well as the Bowes Museum, the castle and beautiful paths along the river.
We really enjoyed our weekend away in Barnard Castle. The cottage was spotless and we had everything we needed. The host made regular contact to check we were happy. I would definitely recommend this property. We’d love to return later in the year.

This property is in a great location, has everything you need, is extremely clean and comfortable. Short walk into town, local 3 mile circular walk by the river. Lovely town and plenty of gardens and castles to visit nearby.
Fabulous property, very comfortable stay. Positive: Very clean with stylish decor and furniture. Perfectly positioned to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside. Barnard Castle is a lovely town with everything we needed. We never tired of the view of the castle. Simply fabulous weekend.
