We all had such a great time, the kids loved the river the balcony outlooks:)

Positive: Kids play area but even that needed a update Negative: Safety wasn't there. Site was a building site. Pub near caravan is a tiny building so if raining you be lucky if you can sit inside. Shop on site yeah few bits but nothing to shout about so if you have a long drive to get there take food with you as you be lucky if you can get in the big site. Washing machine broken Hot tub needs a update Pans and baking trays on floor in cupboard and they were either filthy or rusty Kitchen tap hanging on for dear life and a loose screw placed in the gap. Cupboard for your clothes in the main bedroom has painted ladders and hoovers and lots of other bits in it so nowhere to hang your nice clean clothes when you have had to pay a fortune to use the outside washing machines on site. The part of the site this caravan is on is definitely not the nice side be warned. And worse of been ignored when you do put a complaint in. I have more photos I could put on.

Family trip, loved it. will be back. Positive: lovely homely property, couldn’t have asked for more. Negative: Wi-Fi could be improved as couldn’t log on.

Positive: The location was perfect for us, very quiet and relaxing. Caravan well equipped. Lovely break away. Negative: There was dog poo underneath the patio chair, the frying pan was so old and worn out everything stuck to it, the largest pan was really dirty, the plastic jug was stained, the bedding was old and bobbly. The decking had plenty of green mold and was quite slippery when wet getting to the hot tub.

Arrived at our property at 4:30 on 30th December 2025 with our 4 month baby after a 2 hour car journey. On arrival our property was a mess, there was pizza boxes, ketchup splattered on walls, bags of dirty washing, the outdoor area was a mess too! We contacted host&stay who advised we should go to a local pub and they would provide £10 each for food and drink whilst they found us another property. After an hour I rang back and they had just cancelled the property and provided a full refund. We were now stuck in the middle of nowhere the day before New Year’s Eve, holiday ruined and nowhere else bookable due to it being new year. The company provided no further assistance and passed it back to air b n b. 5 hours passed and I was getting nowhere with air b n b. Passed from pillar to post, no alternative accommodation and no consistent help. I had no choice but to take my young child home further hours in the car. Totally spoilt our new years plans, this had been booked months in

Very relaxing Positive: We had a wonderful stay the Lodge had everything we needed, lovely quite location. Negative: Only small thing the mattress was very soft which wasn’t very comfortable for my husband who has a bad back.

Lovely comfortable and cosy weekend with friends. Positive: Very comfortable & welcoming Negative: The smoke alarm was beeping upon arrival. Had to take the batteries out. Only 1 small pan & only 2 teaspoons. There were a few cobwebs.

Great stay but room for improvement🙈 Positive: The property was cosy, peaceful and in a great location. It was lovely and quiet, making it a relaxing place to stay, while still being within walking distance of the Crazy Horse Saloon. Having two bathrooms was also a real bonus for 4 of us (2 being teenage girls) and made our stay more comfortable. Overall, it was a lovely base for our trip. Negative: There were just a few little touches that could have made our stay even more comfortable. We noticed that other guests had mentioned receiving a welcome pack, but unfortunately, ours seemed to have been missed altogether (good job we had popped to get some supplies before arriving). Some proper hanging space for clothes (the main bedroom wardrobe is used as a storage space, so there was nowhere to hang clothes). Extra towels or robes for using the hot tub would have been a lovely touch, too. The property would also benefit from a good deep clean in some areas, and the bedding could do with a little updating. That said, these little niggles certainly didn’t take away from the loveliness of our break, and we still had a lovely stay. With a few small improvements, this could be an even more enjoyable property for future guests.

Not value for money and wouldn't be back Positive: Location was lovely and was lovely getting a welcome gift Negative: Plastic fence around the hot tub was broken, cable tied together and duck taped, was given the wrong lodge number on my confirmation message, on arrival I had to call a number and fill in a form but had no signal so then had to beg for a key code to get in once we found the right lodge. Wifi password in the welcome pack is wrong. There was no fans in the lodge so was unbelievably hot. Didn't get the right code in a message until we had checked out and left

Pleasant Stay Positive: Great location, great amenities, large hot tub 👌 very cosy inside and the lovely hamper was appreciated..... Negative: Nothing worth mentioning

Lovely lodge, well maintained and looked after. Clean and tidy with everything you could possibly need.

Hot tub was great, nice and clean. Only issue Freeview on tv kept cutting out.

Positive: Lodge had everything we needed for our stay and was in a nice location on site. Got a complimentary welcome basket on arrival. Password for the WiFi wasn't the correct one but you can just scan the qr code on the back and connect that way. Negative: Hottub could have done with a cover of some sort over the top as it rained a lot over weekend, so I couldn't make as much use of it but it didn't spoil our weekend away.

lovely little break Positive: the lodge was nice had everything we needed to be fair. lovely welcome basket on arrival. thank you. Negative: only went in hot tub once. couldn't work out how to get the jets to work and it wasn't easy to get the cover off etc. some instructions would have been helpful. also TV. we had to stay in one night as the rain was torrential but couldn't get netflix etc to work. again instructions would be helpful.

Positive: Location was good. Negative: The lodge & hot tub could have been cleaner.

Positive: Easy access, quiet and tidy settings , good parking space, clean ,good wifi comfy beds , hot tub and a complimentary bottle of bubblyb

Instructions to enter the property were all straight forward and easy to access. Beautiful lodge, very clean with a private hot tub and on site was the Crazy Horse saloon for entertainment and arcades. Just checked in with us while we were there and no issues at all to report. Plenty to do in the area with a short drive. Had a lovely time.

Butterfly lodge avoid Positive: Nothing Negative: Had to leave as the lodge was dirty stunk and very dirty was very disgusting hot tub had food in it avoid if I was you wouldn't go back to this lodge.

Positive: Location and lodge had everything provided for your stay Negative: Glass entrance door and patio doors not cleaned , scruffy marks on glass externally and internally, all white internal doors could do with a lick of paint or at least cleaned as dirty looking in appearance

lodge is comfortable and clean but a little tired . could be very good with some attention to detail Positive: The location was great , just by a stream , quite private , the lodge was well equipped and comfortable , there was a welcome pack with , asti , crisps and biscuits which was appreciated. Negative: The information book in the lounge was out of date , i.e. the wifi password was incorrect , the owners contact details were incorrect , we had no hot water on arrival , i used the contact details in the information book but got through to someone who was not the owner. the hot tub is quite dated , it was cold on the first day so could not use , it was fine on the second day then back to cold on the third day , so we had very little use of it. one of the bathroom sinks could not be used as it was blocked and had a sign saying do not use.

Quiet Idyllic and peaceful surroundings. Perfect base for exploring the Wonder villages,towns and Cities of Northumberland.

I’ve stayed at Bockenfield numerous times so knew what to expect with location, the lodge itself was as expected also. Unfortunately the hot tub cover had clearly been absorbing water whether it was rain or from the hot tub itself there was a clear issue, due to this the lid was extremely heavy and I hurt my back moving it over the 3 days we stayed. I am 6’3 and go to the gym regularly, I am certain alot of people would have struggled to move the lid at all. This is clearly not acceptable. The hot tub also wasn’t up to temperature, when I contacted the owner who is in fact Sam not Dale I was informed other users had not been taking care when removing the lid. Also the heating hub went off I was also informed by Sam this was an ongoing issue however if I could manually put the heating on at the boiler that was fine. This meant having the heating on constantly or not at all. Unfortunately these issues are the responsibility of the owner and the care had not been taken to rectify them.

We had a lovely winter stay, it was perfect. Positive: The lodge was at a quiet part of the park. Well equipped, clean and tidy. Negative: Nothing

Positive: Self catering

Positive: location was good but you need a car to venture out in northumberland. Negative: hot tub needed a new pump so no bubbles

Negative: the beds were very tied, and were definitely ready for new mattress & bedding, was told any marks kn towels we would charged extra, and the deposit you had to pay the week before was a large amount.

Positive: The location was right for our purpose. It was peaceful. Negative: We didn't have enough towels. The washing machine was not in use even though stated on booking, there was an outside lpop-up laundry instead. The single beds were small, the double bed was hard. The wi-fi worked but the smart television was very hit and miss, even trying to change channels. The microwave and cooker were horrendous.

Chilled out weekend Positive: Butterfly lodge is great,, if you want peace and quiet,the hot tub is super, the setting on a small burn is lovely, Everything you could ever need for cooking and cleaning is supplied. Free Wi-fi. Negative: No real facilities on site very basic shop/pub so make sure you take all food and drink you require with you. The neighbours were a bit noisy at times.

Do not book this Positive: Location Negative: Lodge was filthy and smelly

As above. Positive: Good location. Clean and comfortable. Negative: Hot tub dirty and difficult to remove cover. Very dangerous with rusty screws sticking out, never got to use what I paid for. For all the above reasons I would definitely not recommend.

Such a lovely lodge with all the facilities you could possibly need with lots of nice touches! In a very quiet location which was nice for a peaceful getaway. Host was easy to get a hold of with quick replies. Easy check in. Would definitely recommend to friends and family as one of the nicest lodges I’ve stayed in. Thanks for having us!

Beautiful clean with every comfort catered for. Positive: Everything!! It’s beautiful clean and very very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our break, we will be rebooking. If anyone thinking about going to stay there you will not regret I. Negative: Nothing there’s nothing to fault this property.

Welcoming lodge Positive: It was very clean. Bathrooms immaculate. Everything you needed was there. Lovely welcome basket. Private hot tub and seats on decking. It was in a quiet spot on the site. The site is extremely central for exploring Northumberland. Negative: Nothing I didn't like.

Relaxing holiday Positive: Liked everything, lovely lodge, great hot tub, double bed was comfy. Well equipped kitchen with large fridge freezer.

Weekend away Super

Good but could have been better if things had been working as they should have been Positive: Location was good and lodge was comfortable. Negative: Received email to say shower head was missing in one of the bathrooms - someone had been but couldn't mend it on the day we arrived but no-one came back. Shower in other bathroom didn't fit into holder. Was supposed to have Wifi but wasn't available

Positive: Perfect location Site was very tidy Access through to adjoining site, lit at night. Negative: Accommodation not thoroughly cleaned ( bath.had scum line from previous use) Decking is filthy ( simple pressure wash would help)

wouldn’t probably book this lodge again but another on the same site with different owners. No WiFi was a bit of a let d Positive: great lodge, lovely site with good entertainment. Negative: the fact that we didn’t have any central heating, this was raised numerous times and it wasn’t resolved.

We had an absolutely lovely time. Very relaxing and chilled. Finally got a chance to explore Northumberland and had a lovely place to come back to to relax
