“Positive: The location was fantastic, great surroundings and very peaceful. Negative: Upon arrival, we found the lodge to be unclean and not properly prepared. There were no basic cleaning facilities provided, such as a dustpan and brush or a hoover, which made it difficult to address the condition ourselves. There were also insufficient glasses available, and we had to request additional ones. The toilet seat was broken on arrival. The sofa bed had not been made up and was in an unacceptable condition, with visible dirt and dog hair. No bedding (duvet, cover, or sheets) was provided for it. As a result, it was unusable and remained unused throughout our stay. All of these issues were initially reported by phone on Friday, where a message had to be left due to no answer. Having received no response, we reported them again in person at the office on Saturday morning. While the toilet seat was repaired and additional glasses were provided, the remaining concerns were not addressed. In addition, the hot tub was not maintained during our stay — the water was not topped up, cleaned, or treated with chemicals. The fridge also contained leftover water from previous guests, which had not been emptied. The bed in the double room appears to be a lift-and-rise bed, and when sitting on it, it makes concerning noises as though it may be faulty or unsafe. Previous guest details were left on welcome information packs. Overall, the lodge was not cleaned to an acceptable standard, and we were left having to clean parts of it ourselves. This significantly impacted our family stay.”

“The lodge is beautiful but unclean and un managed u will have to sort yourself Positive: In a beautiful setting and on initial entry was a beautiful property Negative: It wasn’t clean there was no basic utilities which I would expect even with self catering the shower was so hot it scalded and it took all day to get sorted it wasn’t a priority even with two children the dishwasher didn’t work and although reported we’re just told sorry so assume they knew and then the sign make sure you wash up or you will be charged extra since they don’t have facilities for that don’t provide any cleaning equipment ie cloth toilet brush not sure how they expect this feel very sad for the owners of this property that the housekeeping they pay for is very substandard there’s no tv signal so trying to entertain children of an evening when it’s constantly going off we have been to this site before and we won’t be returning”
