A perfect location to use and very accessible to Bamburgh Castle, as well as the A1 to easily get to Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Newtons, etc. A fantastic cottage, at an excellent price. We would stay again if we were ever in the area again.
High ratings for Bluebell Cottage though I must mention that we grabbed a much reduced per night rate presumably due to a late booking cancellation. This bargain price was probably the sole reason I went with this booking. That may explain why I felt the price was so reasonable given the HIGH standard throughout the cottage. Worth bearing in mind when reading my review. Great central location for an explore of Northumberland’s dramatic and spacious coastline. Lots of key places to visit within easy reach which will have been much written about by others. Most importantly the cottage itself is spacious, warm if you are visiting out of season and very comfortable. Kitchen facilities are great, shower is pressurized and on demand hot (after a short delay). Robes are provided, along with lazy boy type recliner sofas and large tvs. The much mentioned wifi is pretty atrocious but it’s not like this is a cover up job! 😊
We really enjoyed our 4 nights here. It was a cold week but be were warm and cosy which was wonderful for our first family holiday with our 3 month old. The place is great value for money, well presented and has everything you need. Hosts are very responsive when messaged! We loved Northumberland and we will likely be booking this exact property again when we return 😊
We were looking for a peaceful break with easy access to the Northumberland coast so this cottage was perfect! There’s nothing in walking distance so it’s a drive for food. But there are lots of great places to eat nearby and the kitchen is really well equipped. It’s a great spot for star gazing, and just taking in the gorgeous countryside. Excellent shower, fluffy towels, good sized rooms and everything we needed was provided.
The cottage is fantastic and well-presented in a farm but lovely and relaxing area. If you are looking for a city escape to a rural area, don’t look further. We enjoyed the living room with a non-functioning but fantastic fireplace. It’s very cosy to relax there. However, don’t bring your wood logs, as the heating from the fireplace comes from the electrical heater. Anyway, I recommend this cottage for relaxation and accommodation to explore many attractions and beautiful nature.
Peaceful luxurious stay! Positive: Luxury and clean Negative: N/a
Lovely facilities, everything was clean and tidy, comfortable bed, fluffy towels, great bathroom and kitchen, it all felt rather luxurious. The location is quite rural but a short drive to Bamburgh. It's really quite and peaceful, and very good value. Highly recommended!
Lovely spacious place to stay, easy access to enjoy all that Northumberland has to offer. Many properties next to each other so great for larger parties
Nice cottage Positive: Clean, comfortable, spacious, parking outside door. Bamburgh and Seahouses are only a short drive away. Good base for walkers and cyclists Negative: It was a little remote for us, we didn't realise when we booked. We couldn't find the washer and tumble dryer that we presumed from the description were located in the cottage.
Positive: I travel all over the country for work as a restoration joiner. At home I live in a dark sky park. This place is as close to a home from home as I have experienced in decades. Everything is taken care of, they even put a pint of milk in the fridge for a brew. I did try and book the following week but it was fully booked. Exceeded all expectations, will definitely book again.
Fantastic cosy cottage. Good location on the Northumberland coast. Definitely need a car to get to the remote spot but worth it. Very clean, comfortable bed, so peaceful and all round just what me and my son needed. A+++++++++
Birthday Trip Positive: The cottage was amazing and perfect location to visit everywhere we wanted to go, Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, seahouses ( serenity boat trip to see the seals was just amazing too). Holy island was really good too. Negative: Nothing we didn't like
Perfect base to explore the Northumberland Coast. Will come back to Bradford Farm Cottages Positive: Comfortable and well equipped - bike store a big bonus Negative: Nothing
We had a wonderful stay at Bluebell Cottage, which acted as the perfect hub for us to explore Northumbria. The accommodation itself was beautifully presented, with everything you could need for the perfect stay, including a lovely shower! Despite being situated in the middle of nowhere, it was really easy to venture out to a number of different restaurants, our personal highlights being Mumbai of Alnwick for a brilliant curry, the White Swan Inn for incredible gastro pub food just a few minutes away and also The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate for a more formal sit down meal. We were only a few minutes away from Bamburgh Castle which was a definite highlight, but also not too far away from other activities. Overall we had a great time, and would definitely recommend!
Bluebell Cottage, a lovely place to stay, very peaceful with everything catered for. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. A car/bicycle would definitely be required as in a countryside environment.
Bluebell cottage is a lovely place to stay. Clean and tidy with all you need for a relaxing stay. Well equipped kitchen, great shower, cosy living room and a lovely comfy bed. The surroundings are so peaceful and calming and local amenities are only a short drive. Beadnell beach on an evening is beautiful, as are the sand dunes leading into Sea houses. The fish and chip van in Beadnell is well worth a visit, they were the best I've ever eaten! We would definitely return to the cottage.
Peaceful place to stay and explore the local area. Everything provided and the host was always on hand to answer any questions. Lovely stay!
Very relaxing stay, in a spacious cottage.
Wonderful accommodation Positive: From booking to arriving, to staying to departing, the process was so easy, stress free and a completely relaxing time was had. Bluebell cottage was fantastic. Super clean, comfortable bed, well equipped. WiFi great. So quiet it was wonderful, yet close to all great places of interest to visit. Lovely walks available close by. Cafes and restaurants locally were supberb. I will be recommending this accommodation and will be returning. Negative: Second small towel in bathroom would of been appreciated.
A wonderful cottage in a beautiful, quiet location within very easy access to the fantastic Northumberland coastline. The cottage was immaculately clean, with all amenities provided. The hosts are very communicative, helpful and provide all information quickly. We can highly recommend both the hosts and the cottage. We will use them again.
Cottage was well presented, clean and with everything needed for a short stay. While there we experienced a power cut in local area, Host and Stay were very helpful throughout.
Lovely cottage in a very peaceful area. Well equipped kitchen and tastefully decorated. Lovely comfy bed and reclining sofas. Only let down by the lack of flexibility with the host regarding check in times and changes to dates. Oh, and lots of cobwebs! We would book again, but probably go direct (and pack a feather duster!)
great location , felt like being at home , didn't require anything more
A return visit to Bluebell Cottage and we were not disappointed. A perfect place to relax and enjoy your holiday. Positive: The cottage is in a lovey quiet location but still very close to Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. It was lovely to return to a warm and cosy cottage after a day spent discovering the beautiful scenery. Great facilities and very comfortable. Negative: N/a
nice cottage but a few things let it down timer and weighing scales not working. Electric fire and light in cloakroom not working. Although mention of bike store access, no bikes. It would have been nice to have an ice tray.
Wonderful place to escape to for a few days! Very cosy, comfortable, spacious and tasteful interior. Would highly recommend!
Bluebell is a beautiful, well equipped property with everything we needed for our stay.
Really good accommodation. Would recommend. Positive: Clean, lovely facilities, nice quiet location. Good value and great comms. Negative: Nothing.
Bluebell Cottage is exactly like the pictures and description. It was much bigger than we expected. All the rooms were large, comfortable and clean. The kitchen has everything you would need. We would definitely going there again and recommend it. Thank you for a wonderful few days break.
Ideal countryside location of a very comfortable cottage Positive: Quiet location and very well equipped Negative: Nothing
We love this place, it’s our second visit. Looking forward to booking again for next September
Bluebell Cottage was the ideal getaway. It is ideally located for exploring the coast. The cottage was clean and everything needed for the stay was provided. The kitchen was well stocked with cutlery and pans to make cooking easy. The bed was extremely comfortable and the cottage was spacious.
Excellent stay in this extremely comfortable, spotless and well equipped cottage.
One word "Perfect"
Great place to stay highly recommended we would stay again
Bluebell Cottage is a delight. Well appointed, and equipped with everything you need for self contained rental. Clean. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Appreciated the additional TV in the bedroom and the sofa/lounger. Good location for exploring Northumberland and short drive to Bamburgh. Quiet location too.
Brilliant visit to Northumberland Positive: Very well presented and comfortable cottage. Negative: Nothing
Positive: Fantastic, peaceful place to stay Negative: Nothing
Great stay, cottage was very well equipped with all we needed.
Absolutely lovely cottage would 100% return!
Fantastic stay Positive: Beautifully equipped cottage . Very clean and comfortable . Highly recommend staying here
We had a lovely stay. The accommodation was very nice and we felt comfortable. We would definitely recommend it.
Lovely comfortable accommodation, off a very quiet lane, and very close to Bamburgh which was pretty and unspoilt. Bluebell cottage was very well equipped. We found it a great base for exploring the area
Beautiful place close to many of the local attractions
Overall stay was superb .. Accommodation albeit very remote was perfect.
Amazing place, so clean, comfortable and peaceful Would definitely recommend to others and would love to return sometime
Positive: Lovely, modern, homely and spotless cottage. Really quiet location but centrally located to all tourist spots. 5 minutes drive to Bamburgh. Highly recommend a visit. Castle, gorgeous beach and lovely pubs for lunch. The cottage has everything you need. Negative: Nothing, it was perfect for our stay.
Our stay at Bluebell cottage was everything we wanted it to be. The cottage was beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. The area was perfect so quiet and peaceful but close enough to Bamburgh to enjoy plenty of lovely beach walks. We would thoroughly recommend the cottage to friends and family and hope to make a return visit 😊
Beautiful little cottage with everything we needed. Welcoming surroundings and perfectly clean. The cottage is in a very right location however so you definitely need to use the car to get around but that wasn’t a problem. 4 pm check-in is a little bit late however it was workable.
Thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed to feel right at home. Perfectly located for exploring everything the area has offer. BTW, be sure to check out Turnbull’s for food!
Really great cottage. Fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay.
Ideal location for exploring the Northumberland coast excellent property and a home from home
Communication was friendly, detailed and very helpful, for the most part. This is the third time I have stayed at this property and it didn't disappoint - excellent in all respects. Rescheduling the stay was easy and trouble-free, with a prompt refund of the difference in price.
Lovely cosy cottage, which we needed in February! Great location for visiting the local area. Remote location with no immediate amenities but its a 5 minute drive to Bamburgh. Cottage just as described - clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped. A perfect place for a getaway. We loved it.
lovely place, well kept and clean. personally found the bed hard but a personal preference. would recommend for sure.
Wow What a stunning cottage clean and tidy .the only problem was we couldn’t get any signal at all but the cottage was gorgeous
Absolutely amazing for what we needed it for. Plenty of things to do in the area and a guide is provided for everything you may need to know during your stay! If you want to stay connected on social media etc, then I would recommend EE as the signal is very hit and miss for other service providers. We also came home with very little washing to do as there is a washing machine and tumble (communal) for the 6 cottages. Would 100% recommend, and will probably return if we were to visit the area again!
Great property and host. Beautiful location and everything we hoped the trip would be.
Super cosy and great location Positive: The perfect location - about 6 mins drive from Bamburgh and so also close to some great restaurants. The cottage was super cosy - it even had dressing gowns! The heating was accessible and the living room fire was great. Milk in the fridge and utensils should you want to make your own food. I honestly couldn’t fault the actual experience. Negative: As most other reviewers have mentioned - the internet is almost non existent. Great to get away from all of that in a way! The property does mention the internet is intermittent - but I pretty much had no signal the 3 nights I was there. Also couldn’t access Netflix on the TV due to the poor network, so had to resort to “normal Live TV”, would be great if there had been board games or a dvd player. Not the properties fault in any way but worth mentioning if you can’t do without the net!
Great find! So close to everything yet, so quiet. Cottage was perfect and had everything you need. Rooms are spacious, clean and the bed was really comfy. Would definitely recommend to anyone planning a visit to Northumberland.
Restful Positive: Very clean, quiet and comfortable Negative: Kettle needed descale (had to use a pan) but everything else immaculate
Couldn’t give 5 stars throughout due to the mattress being too soft for our liking and cotton sheets rather than flannelette would be preferable Other than that the property was immaculate with everything else to a high standard
Bluebell Cottage is very nice but the booking agents leave a bad taste in your mouth. Positive: The property was very clean, warm and reasonably well equipped. Negative: The property is let via Host & Stay. Beware! Until you have booked this property it is not communicated that all reservations need to have damage waiver in place. Either a one off fee of £30 or £250 taken from a credit card and refunded at a much later date (minus £10 admin fee) if no damage. Profiteering! I had to chase for check in details too! I will be avoiding Host & Stay in the future!
Lovely place, short drive to Bamburgh. Very good location for exploring Bamburgh, Holy island and other locations a short drive away such as Alnwick and Cragside. Nice rural location, great place for the Northen Lights coming out during our stay! 😍 Loved the decor, living room was cosy, love the open brick fireplace Was all very spacious! Bathroom was lovely and clean, the robes were a cute plus! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!
Lovely rural location. Accomodation was perfect with lots of attention to detail. Communication was excellent. Would recommend to others as a base to explore the wonderful Northumberland coast.
Nice Cosy Cottage Has everything you need for staying away from home, plus some extra touches like bath robes, fluffy towels and basics; ie tea, coffee sugar and milk. Washing up liquid, washing up sponges and tea towel. Near to Bamburgh, which is beautiful.
Lovely, clean, tidy and modern conversion. Had everything we needed for our stay. Very peaceful location with lots to see within a short drive.
Delighted with Bluebell Cottage. A beautiful warm and cosy cottage fitted out to a high standard. We would be very happy to return!
A lovely place to stay in a wonderful party of the country. Everything was as expected. The only improvement in the property would be the WiFi, this was general slow/ poor. Did it impact the stay not particularly but not what you expect from these sorts of properties.
Negative: WiFi Storage in bedroom
Positive: A lovely cottage in a country location but not too far from lovely places to visit. It had everything you need for a relaxing getaway, very comfy & beautifully decorated, parking at rear in a lovely courtyard with table/chairs & lovely flower boxes & even à bike store.
A spacious cottage with all the facilities only 3 miles from the beach. Lovely quiet location
Situated perfectly for discovering the Northumberland coast. Positive: Easy parking. Clean and modern rooms. Negative: WiFi signal was intermittent.
Positive: It's a beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable. It has a pint of milk for you and pretty much everything you need. The bed is very good and there are plenty of towels. It has a shower mat and even two robes. The area is lovely. It has a cafetiere so you can bring your coffee. There is some tea and sugar. It has wooden shutters on all windows. Negative: The information given by Booking.com are missing some essential ones. First, it is in the middle of nowhere. You cannot walk from the cottage to access the next town. The roads are narrow and no foot path. Although it mention Internet connection, the first piece of information when you walk into the property is that it's intermittent because it's a very rural area. I would say it's pretty much non-existent. You need to use your 4G/5G to get to anything. There are two, rather large TV and the best one is the bedroom one, you can watch most channels. The one in the living room hardly pick up any of them and when it does, it last only few minutes before going to buffering. So I would suggest to bring books and board games. I took my Firestick with me, we never managed to use it. The other thing is the tea/coffee maker. This is a kettle. There is a cafetiere but as it is not specified in the list of facilities, we only had instant coffee that we had brought with us. And last thing, Booking.com mention a £250 deposit which will be taken from your bank account and give back 14 days max before and after you leave. This is only one of the options. You must take an insurance but you can also pay £25 non-refundable which will cover your stay for anything and everything. The company will send you a message before you come and ask you to pay for this. But be ready to not only get confirmation that you have paid for it followed by 3 other messages asking you, reminding you to do it. I found they send too many messages and it was kind of pushy making me uncomfortable, especially if you find anything not working or which needs attention, I would suggest you let them know immediately specifying you spotted it when you arrived otherwise you may be taken as responsible for it.
Very pleasant stay. Great location Positive: Everything - property was fantastic Negative: There were a few cobwebs around the property and the number of messages received over the weekend regarding check outs was a lot.
A great few days, weather mixed but that didn’t stop us enjoying our stay. Positive: Quiet location, comfortable and well appointed. Negative: Nothing
Enjoyable stay. Positive: A lovely modern cottage in a quiet setting . Very comfortable. Negative: There was really nothing that we didn't like.
Brillant place to stay. Beautiful location. Really quiet and close to lots of lovely locations. Will be back to stay
this cottage was beautiful. everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay was there. The dressing gowns were a lovely extra, the towels and bedlinen were first class, and the place was immaculately clean. It was a short drive to the coast, for shops, pubs etc but that is what we were looking for, quiet and peaceful
Beautiful cottage, furnished nicely, lovely comfy bed, close to Bamburgh, Seahouses and Lindisfarne, would definitely recommend
Nice and quiet good location very modern very clean
Superb location to explore the Northumberland coast 😊
Lovely peaceful place, beautiful scenery and felt just like home. Had everything you’d need and made to feel welcome. Would 100% come back again.
We had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay at Bluebell Cottage. The cottage itself was spacious, spotless, warm and was very well equipped. it was beautiful looking too, with tasteful decor and furnishings. The recliners were an added luxury! It was very well situated, and the sat nav instructions take you right there. Very close to Bamburgh Castle and within easy access to Alnwick, Lindisfarne and countless other places of interest.
Wonderful place to stay, quiet and peaceful, the cottage was very comfortable and well thought out.
The accommodation was peaceful, warm and cosy, tastefully decorated and had all that we required
Lovely cottage and great location!
