Positive: Great location for York Maze

A lovely quiet and peaceful park. The driving range was great and has inspired some future golfers. All the staff at JJ’s were friendly and hard working. We have had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again.

The area and park which the lodge is located on is really lovely. Really great for dog walks and has a lovely restaurant on site. We drove to the beach and was about a 50 min drive so great access to bits to do around the area. On arrival to the lodge, we noticed it had a distinct smell, although not massively offensive it smelt like damp dish cloths, potentially from cleaning? We personally would recommend the lodge for 4 adults and 2 children, rather than 6 adults as one of the bedrooms is tiny, much smaller than what it looks pictured, no room to even put a bag on the floor and get changed, so we ended up using the main bedroom for this. Again, relating to space the dining table only seats 4 and the sofas only 4 people comfortably. One of the rooms had a rip in the duvet and a toothpaste box left on the floor from previous guests. Overall, the stay was pleasant but like stated previously it is very small and would be more suited to 4 adults in our opinion.

The lodge needed a good clean items missing like no frying pan .No Grill and airfryer was very dirty .Hottub jets only worked at one side .head rests missing and definitely had not been cleaned .Bedrooms in the single bed rooms very tiny for Adults to use .Overall the place needed a good clean all over stains on carpets stains on upholstery. Rusty radiator in main bathroom .After staying on park 8 times before staying in JJS private lodges which are immaculate condition and definitely 5 star accommodation. I would class this lodge a 2 stars it also smelt mouldy definitely not worth the money we payed .We requested a birthday package this was not handed over so good job I went early and the lady in the woodern hut where you pick keys up managed to sort it out just before we got there .

The lodge had tiny bedrooms. The air fryer and plates were dirty. There was no shower gel, shampoo or hair dryer. There was a small amount of washing up liquid but no scourer was available. The golf course was beautiful but the lodge was disappointing.

Such a lovely stay! It was spotless, the hot tub was lovely and relaxing with a lot of space, and the beds were so comfy! Would 100% recommend and would stay here again. Thank you so much!
