A very lovely place that is let down by the old sofas and perhaps the cleaners.
Positive: This property has so much potential to be really nice! It’s a peaceful location, the place has been done up beautifully. However the furniture is old has a heavy odour.
Negative: The Sofa had an extremely bad odour, the smell was then covered with a heavy chemical smell! We could smell this as soon as you opened the door on arrival. The sofa’s are old and need replacing! The chairs in the kitchen are very old.
My pillow smelt like men’s aftershave.
The cutlery and cups were filthy.
There were stains on the sheets in the room downstairs. Overall cleanliness needs attention.

The Beagle Barn was only recently built so all the fixtures and fittings were of a high standard and in good order.
The property was cosy and comfortable.
We especially enjoyed the little touches of having tea and coffee already in the cupboards, and milk and a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge!
The property was dog friendly, however to allow our pooch to roam free we blocked off the entrances with some objects to prevent her escaping from the courtyard.
We would highly recommend this property and the location.

Lovely property and welcoming village and pub
Positive: The property was perfect and everything inside was clean and comfortable. The village is lovely with really friendly neighbours and pub was also really friendly.
Negative: No grass/green area in the garden. It being located in a pub car park. Needs a gate to give more privacy.

Withington is a lovely village with a great pub and lovely places to visit and walks close by.
The accommodation is nicely furnished but lacks facilities you’d expect for accommodation listed as luxury ( no fans, iron, dishwasher , complementary toiletries). Being next to a pub car park and beer garden makes it feels overlooked and noisy in the evenings and mornings.
We stayed when it was 32 degrees in July . The accommodation was extremely hot making being in the house very unpleasant despite having all windows and doors open, and making it difficult to sleep. We did ask for fans but were told none were available.
The accommodation is nicely furnished and exactly how it looks in the photos but the slope of the upstairs bedroom ceiling is so low you can only stand in the centre of the room making getting in and out of bed difficult. There was no welcome hamper or shampoo, a problem for us as we arrived late and the closest shops are a 20 minute drive away.

Overall, very nice. Easy to fix niggles.
Positive: Lovely, modern, charming, very clean and spacious. Generous kitchen equipment and tea and coffee, plus hamper.
Would have preferred bread and milk to wine and treats though.
Be aware, very low bed and low ceiling height around massive bed in lovely, huge attic room. We didn't mind but it wouldn't suit everyone.
Negative: Much potential not realised. Would have preferred hamper bread and milk to wine and treats.
Very low bed and low ceiling height around massive bed in lovely, huge attic room was ok but this needs to be clearer as it wouldn't suit everyone.
Need firmer pillows and another chair in main bedroom.
Frustratingly warm, with lack of heating control and no general information about the property at all. Folder in lounge was empty bar one page of places to visit. Digital info was also generic tourist info only and I really resent wasting time anywhere, at tje start of my holiday, logging on to find out basic info. Then finding nothing of use for those in the property e.g. heating, rubbish, reporting faults, check out, feedback . The toaster wasn'tworking. (Someone else previously must have had the same issue with it, and comms!)
We used the grill to toast which was ok.
Pub opening times would have been useful. The pub next door was very quiet and no disadvantage at all - didn't get to use it, as was closed a lot. Opening times would have been useful - especially given its close enough to order a drink or meal from the bar and have it in your your own adjacent private courtyard, 10m away. Need a dustpan and brush, guest book for discrete feedback off-line, and a BBQ. A hot tub would work well. May be back. Thank you.

Lovely, modern barn with a great communal area. Well equipped kitchen and big comfy beds. Quiet location with lots of bird song! The barn was spotlessly clean and the hosts left a welcome hamper and bubbles in the fridge which was a beautiful touch - thank you! Would absolutely recommend staying here.
