We had a lovely stay at Beach Retreat, which has amazing views onto the sea and our dog really loved his walks along the beach. Super comfy beds too!! We will be back!

If you have a dog or two this location is perfect for nipping straight down onto the beach and dunes. We walked to Saltburn for lunch and exhausted our four-legged friends. Great spot.

Really lovely apartment, very dog friendly, tastefully decorated and perfectly located for lovely beach walks to nearby Saltburn.

Had a lovely break, will defo book again in the future, just what a needed, being so close to the beach was perfect for the dogs walks. Each room was a delight, decor was nice. If you haven't booked yet, don't wait you in for a treat.

Felt like a home from home. Spacious and light, but also cosy. Clean and comfortable retreat. Plenty of space for us to socialise but also have time to ourselves if needed. All amenities as described. Lovely decor. Shower was lovely, and plenty of cooking utensils and appliances in the kitchen. Loved the courtyard at the back and also sitting in the outdoor area at the front of property watching the sea. Perfect location to the beach and to the shops, cafes, restaurants with our elderly dog. 5 minute drive to Redcar or Saltburn, 20 mins to Runswick Bay, and 40 mins to Whitby. Brilliant. Only downside was tv in dining area didn’t work, and the tv in twin bedroom was too far away from plug sockets. However we still had 2 tvs to choose from and to be honest, preferred to watch the seaview anyway! Will definitely be returning!!

Beautiful location right on the beach. Perfect for my senior dog that can't walk far these days. Local shops also in walking distance. The fresh sunflowers were a lovely touch. The flat is lovely and spacious and is as pictured. Very peaceful place to stay.

Nice place, easy to find, free parking right outside. Great location and views of the sea, right on the beach, which would've been perfect, but for the terrible luck we had with the weather (post heatwave!). Garden was an added bonus and very sheltered, and very handy for our dogs. Place was spacious and tastefully decorated, but would benefit from some blackout blinds/curtains in the bedrooms; we were awake from 3/4am, and even left a day early due to lack of sleep during the first 2 nights owing to light, TV spontaneously turning on from 1am, and the front door rattling from the howling wind on night 2. We enjoyed our stay, but nature's influence hampered it a little, unfortunately.

Amazingly spacious apartment. All rooms exceptionally big. Great facilities and a out of this world view. Never got tired of the view. Fantastic location for walking the dog. Position wise just a short walk into the town centre with it's 2 supermarket convenience stores plus other local shops. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return one day

Check in and out times were restrictive for over a weekend - we were offered an earlier check in time but this would have incurred a £30 charge which is excessive

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Beach Retreat. Immaculately clean and lovely decor throughout. It was also a perfect location for a morning and evening stroll on the beach with the dogs. Would definitely stay here again!

Had a great stay. the location is great if you've got a dog, literally straight on to the beach which is ideal. The property is larger than I thought and there is a nice little court yard garden out the back. All in all a great stay.

Positive: Ideal location if you like quiet endless beaches. This was perfect for us and our dogs. The accommodation was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again but it's popular and fairly well booked up. Negative: There was nothing to dislike.

The accommodation has the most beautiful location, views are spectacular. We found the property lovely & excellent space for us. We struggled with the noise from the properties above us, we were disturbed throughout the night as they used to the front door waking us and our dogs who naturally bark at the disturbance. The house has been split into 3 separate apartments but the main entrance for all apartments is in the original downstairs of the home, there is no suitable front door to the downstairs apartment or any element of sound proofing it was the only downside but it felt a considerable disturbance to our break.

A spacious apartment dog friendly and with wal Positive: Location location location Very spacious, private and in the main well equipped. Negative: A couple of things that would benefit from some attention, the kitchen work surfaces felt sticky. It’s not that they hadn’t been wiped, it’s the wood finish. They need re-sealing as are worn. Plumbing needs checking, bit of an odour coming from kitchen sink , taps are noisy and whistles and same in the bathroom. When you flush the toilet it sounds like a ships horn sounding. Kitchen could do with a few more utensils as a little sparse, garlic press etc. The noise from the apartment upstairs was a bit of a nuisance, they were not partying or anything like that. It was the noise of them walking around, doors slammed and being constantly up and down the stairs to smoke at the front entrance. That being said, none of the above would stop us returning and we have shared details of the property with friends. Just trying to share open, honest and fair feedback.

A lovely appartment with amazing views. We have had a fantastic week, walking our 4 dogs on miles of beach and visiting the local country parks and woodland.

Amazing seaside location, spacious 2 bed apartment in a gorgeous little village. Perfect for any family vacation. Positive: We loved the location, decor and spacious rooms. We had a really comfortable stay. Negative: Lack of ironing board and tea towels. I also requested several times if there could be a Christmas tree put up seeing as though our stay was over Christmas and I had no reply and was disappointed to see there wasn’t one put up. I found this ordeal very frustrating.

Short relaxing family break in excellent accomodation Positive: The location is excellent - fantastic sea view from the bedroom and lounge windows . Great for pets and loved sitting in front garden overlooking the sea having coffee. On quiet private road.

Excellent stay right by the beach. The perfect getaway for a family of 4. Only short drive to Saltburn for some seaside fun. The flat was spacious and easily accommodated all of us. Will definitely stay again.

Positive: Die Lage war einfach toll und der Ausblick direkt auf den Strand ein Traum. Wir würden es aber auf jeden Fall wieder buchen - Entspannung pur. Negative: Die Küche war für unsere Bedürfnisse leider nicht gut genug ausgestattet, da wir gerne selbst kochen.

Fabulous flat with views on to the beach, very spacious. The only thing that let it down was the kitchen equipment. Very old and scratched pans and unfortunately the basics weren't there - like a sieve, wooden spoon etc. It would improve the experience no end if a bit of money was spent on some good quality items. We like to cook a lot and really struggled in this kitchen.

I am disappointed that Dale would not allow me to change my booking dates. My other guest could not make the weekend away due to poor health. I had no way of getting a refund or swopping the dates. This was an expensive weekend for 1 person , and was not fully enjoyed , as the whole intention was to celebrate the ill person s 50th birthday.

Loved it, a perfect birthday weekend! Positive: The position, the tasteful decor, the spaciousness, the nooks and crannies. Negative: Not being able to check in until 4pm. But that’s it!

Positive: Very clean as always. Wonderful setting. Very spacious Negative: The parking a little tricky. Because the let above was being used we had allocated parking spots with room for one car to get through between. However because the other car was a large 4x4 and they parked not as close as they could have to allow the passenger to exit. If we had parked in our allotted spot there wouldn't have been room for other traffic to pass. Fortunately the house next door was for sale and empty so we parked there but as a disabled person had this not been the case it could have been a real issue.

A great bolt-hole for a family or couple. Perfect spot to be in, beach on the doorstep-lots of local amenities, easy to walk to.

I spent 3 nights here and loved every minute of it! When I arrived at the accommodation, the instructions on where to park and how to enter were clear so that took away any stress. And when I entered, I wish my house looked that good! It was perfect for me and my dog but could also host another 3/4 people easily. The location was the main factor in booking this as my dog loves the beach and it was PERFECT! Open the front door and a very short walk down a path then you are on the sand. From there you can walk to Saltburn (about 1.5 hours with the dog playing in the water) and there were plenty of pubs/restaurants/cafes that are dog friendly. The Airbnb had everything we needed: Full kitchen Sitting areas Living room with netflix on the TV Very comfy bed LOTS OF SPACE! I would definitely recommend this and might even come back myself!

Almost perfect Positive: Great location overlooking the sea, lovely big bay windows. Almost everything you could need. Warm, and comfortable. Enclosed back yard good for the dog. We had a good time! Negative: Little bit mean with the towels...1 handtowel between 3 of us and a tiny bodywash. Maybe forget the token gesture. Also curled edge on the rug in the main bedroom, definitely a trip hazard! We asked for an early check-in twice to be told the cleaner wouldn't have finished. We parked up outside at 2.30. No cleaner and an empty property but we didn't go in. Finally get the key code right! The one in the email from Booking.com was incorrect.

We were impressed with how clean and presentable it was. There was a lovely view of the sea from a couple of the windows. The apartment was well presented and the furniture was comfortable and suited the decor and style.

we did not receive instructions on how to access the property and had to call on arrival to find out how to get in. On our 3rd night the Carbon Monoxide detector went into alarm so we called the emergency gas services to come to the property as we didn't know what else to do. They came out and advised that the carbon Monoxide detector was manufactured in 2015 and so should of been replaced after 7 years (2022). They shut off the gas supply at approx 01:00. The gas was reinstated following a plumber attending the premises at approx 16:40 the following day so around 18 hours without hot water or heating. fortunately the carbon monoxide detector had been replaced also. All in its a lovely property and a lovely location. We were somewhat frustrated with details above and barring a short conversation from the owner no further follow up or communication was made from either Host and Stay or the owner.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location very close to the beach was a real bonus. Enjoyed a good meal at Gilbeys and caught the train for the short trip to Saltburn, which is a lovely small resort with a superb beach. Happy to recommend a stay here, especially if wish to have a peaceful and relaxing break.

What a lovely place to stay, the accommodation was fabulous, with plenty of room and packed full of amenities. The decor was lovely and I couldn’t believe there were 3 televisions! The location is great if you like the beach and walking and the local shops etc are well within walking distance. The hosting staff were really helpful as we left a valuable item behind and they held it safe and available for when we’re able to return to collect it. Great work team! One small point the hot water through the taps and showers isn’t hot and is like warm at best. The central heating, however, is toasty warm. I would wholeheartedly recommend this for a relaxing break.

The place was absolutely lovely however we were extremely let down by Host & Stay as they proceeded to ignore our messages all weekend when we told them that we had no hot water at the property to shower or bath. They waited to respond until we had checked out which was very frustrating. Very disappointed with the lack of service and will not be booking through them again. We would not recommend booking with host & stay and would go direct to the property instead. Felt they didn’t care whatsoever and their lack of effort/communication showed this.

This was our second stay and we are looking to book again soon

Wonderful stay by the coast, the flat was lovely. The only downside was the shower was cold. So close to the beach easy to access and lots of amenities close by would definitely be staying here again.

We had the most fantastic stay at Beach retreat. Lots of room. Most fantastic views. And very comfortable. There were previous reviews that suggested it was dirty but I can 💯 say it really wasn’t, maybe a past resolved problem. We will definitely return even want to buy property there. A must stay for anyone looking 👀

The apartment was just as described – incredibly spacious, in an excellent location, very quiet, and beautifully decorated. I absolutely loved my stay here! My only critique would be that a bit more attention could have been given to the cleaning

Seaside haven of peace and tranquility. Right on the edge of the beach. Panoramic views. Well equipped and very comfortable and stylish accommodation. We really loved our stay here and will definitely return.

Perfect stay at Marske-by-the-sea. The flat is very close to the beach and Marske is walkable to both Saltburn and Redcar. The flat faces South-East and you can see the sunrise from the living room window. The flat itself is very big with enough room for 4 people to stay comfortably. It's also within walking distance to the local village and pubs and markets. The car stayed at then designated parking space for the duration of our stay. Bonus 👍🏼.

We have stayed in Marske a few times before further along the same road, so we already knew where this property was. This property was a lovely place to stay with fantastic views out to sea and easy access down to the beach. The place was well maintained.

Very Disappointed Positive: The view is exceptional except the windows in the apartment were filthy. Very good location next to beach .very quiet area Negative: First thing we had to do on arrival is to clean the cooker and splashback which was very greasy and smelled. The sealant around the kitchen sink had black mould on it which is very unhealthy, Half of the crockery was chipped. Apartment relatively clean but needed attention to detail. The living room furniture shows sign of wear and was uncomfortable and in need of a clean.The Blinds in the bedroom which faces the rising sun, are white and thin and not much use , there is a curtain which divides the room but it doesn't stop the early morning light. The toilet seat was loose and why do they have a bath that is more like a horse trough and very difficult to climb in or out of. This was our second visit to this apartment. Loved it first time. Wouldn't go again as I do not believe the apartment is up to the standard for the price

second visit to this gem of a place and once again it was everything that we wanted and more... location is second to none and love eateries are well within walking distance. This place is a delight from the stylish minimal furnishings to the 2 sun spots outdoor areas to catch the odd ray of sunshine with a cocktail. we will return

Unfortunately, Host And Stay let this Owner Positive: Beautiful property, stunning location Negative: Poor housekeeping? dirty areas not cleaned and maintenance failed to rectify most other issues, despite numerous phone calls! Because of the respect we had for the Owner , we cleaned the place from top to bottom and left it in a much better condition than we found it !

The location was fabulous right on the beach with access to lovely walks. The apartment was amazing very spacious and comfortable. The biggest downside is the noises from the occupants upstairs which went on to the early hours. Combined with the whirring of the central heating resulted in a disturbed night.

We loved our stay in Marske. The location of the apartment is peaceful with lovely views to the sea. The apartment has been decorated recently and is a calm and cosy place to be.

Had such a lovely stay, everything was as described. Apartment was larger than we expected which had an amazing sea view. We are hoping to return early next year.

The flat is great and the view is amazing. Would definitely come again. The style of the flat is lovely as is the space. The kitchen utensils, pans and crockery need updating, replacing. It’s a shame the windows were mucky as it stopped you from enjoying the view from inside, I appreciate that the weather and being so near the sea will mean the windows get mucky quicker but when you’re paying more for the fabulous view it would be good if the 2 front windows were cleaned more regularly. Overall great though and we felt right at home.

Stunning!! I could not take enough photos! Gorgeous and spacious property, literally 1 min to the beach and simply the most amazing views! Saltburn is really walkable and some really nice restaurants, cafes also within a 10 min walk. This was one of the best and most relaxing breaks I have had.. If you want to switch off and relax - go here 😁

A spacious, nicely styled apartment with wonderful views of the sea. Peaceful location, with direct access to the beach. The beds were comfortable, with clean linen. The shower was excellent. The kitchen was only adequately equipped, but we made the best of it. The cooker was working, but very slow. A good new fridge/freezer. There were some issues with cleanliness - in the kitchen only. We reported these whilst there. It was disappointing. Kitchen knives definitively need replacing as very blunt and much of the crockery chipped. The apartment had a feel that it needed refreshing and a few more soft touches, throws for example. It would cost very little to bring it up to date and then my review would have been very different. The smart tv was not connected to the Wi-Fi, so unable to use streaming. We couldn’t activate the heating. There was plenty of hot water. It was only chilly in the evenings. The decoration was good, but we strongly disliked all the artificial plants!

The house was in a great location and was very clean. I didn't realise when I booked that this was a property management company, you can tell. Firstly, they insist on a liability waiver for damages even though Airbnb provide that already and wouldn't give us check in details without it. Secondly, the house, though clean and excellent location was lacking any kind of personality or comforts that you would usually expect from an Airbnb. Thirdly, we couldn't find the iron and when we asked the host they replied "it's listed as an amenity" and would give no further response despite messaging us constantly about reporting damage. On closer inspection everything is wearing out, there are marks on the walls and carpets, lights that don't work, linoleum pulling up in cupboards and a dodgy key box. Lastly, the instructions they leave are SPARSE, there is no mention of a shared garden, where to find amenities or most of the usual info you'd expect to find.

Brilliant location. Some maintenance needed at property. kitchen provision could be better, you need to bring dishwasher tablets only 2 left, no spare bin bags.

Very relaxing and quiet, as the road is residents only . Lots of walking, great location if you just want to relax. Absolutely STUNNING apartment, it really is as close to the beach as the pictures made out. It was a perfect get away to read, paint and chill! Please note as it is hosted by a business there’s not much in the way of amenities in the kitchen. We had to buy oil & milk & sugar as there was only sachets etc. There also wasn’t an oven mitt or tea towels not really a negative just something to note.

Great location for access to a beautiful sandy beach and walks if you plan to stay close by. Lovely, comfortable and spacious flat. Great sized dining room for meals and games. Very good fish n chip shop nearby! We really enjoyed being so near the beach and of course the view. Yes it really is as close as it looks in the photos!

Lovely couple of days staying on the beach in Marske and looking out to sea. The flat was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The only downside to our stay was the noise from the boiler which was very loud and possibly in need of a service. If this is rectified we wouldn't hesitate to book again

Just amazing views and a real home from home feel . Spot on 😊 Negative: A very slight negative was the door into the apartment was a little loose and rattled when the main front door opened . It really didn’t spoil our stay , but maybe a problem for others

The flat is wonderful; incredible views, large, clean and airy rooms and a nice secluded back yard. Would absolutely recommend it! But…..horrible issues with the actual “hosts”, Host and Stay. I booked through Air B & B, and the booking was confirmed, and full payment was taken. When we arrived at the property, there was an email waiting for me from “Host and Stay” requiring me to call them for check-in details. They’d send the email when we were en route. I called; no answer. I messaged to ask for the key box code and to check in, and was told I needed to complete Host and Stay’s additional verification process. To get the key box code, I had to either pay £25 to an external website (Superhog) to cover “accidental damage insurance”, or pay a deposit of £250 with an additional £10 admin fee. And sign an additional contract directly with Host and Stay. Avoid Host and Stay properties; their additional hidden charges are unfounded and unjust, and their customer service is dreadful.

What an absolutely stunning location! The flat was really lovely, especially that super light and airy lounge with the magnificent view. The only downer is the amount of noise from the flat upstairs and the main staircase! If you have a dog that barks at noise, don't book here!

Wonderful property and location Positive: A beautifully decorated apartment, very spacious. The location is amazing, so nice to see and hear the sea from the apartment. The apartment guidebook issued digitally before we arrived was very helpful, very easy to access the property. No problems with parking just follow the instructions, we found all the neighbours very friendly.
