Apartment is great location but that’s all I can say about it. I wouldn’t be coming back again Positive: Great location Negative: Soon as we entered the apartment it had a terrible smell of dogs. Wet dog smell, it was so potent soon as you stepped your first foot through the door. The carpet was filthy. There was dog hairs throughout the whole apartment. Sofas, carpet, bed, bedding, bed sides, kitchen even the tea towel. Everything you touched you’d be picking off dog hairs. I dropped my babies bottle on the floor I picked it up with several dog hairs on it. I know the apartment welcomes pets however it just doesn’t meet expectations. It’s like the apartment was never cleaned when we entered. It was that bad I had a look on the first evening to re locate as it weren’t bearable with two young babies especially. Unfortunately there weren’t anything for us to accommodate the four of us, so we had to stick it out. Was really disappointed with the condition and cleanliness! The apartment could be made nice it just lets it down massively with how poor it’s looked after. The smell is just beyond gross!

Perfect spot & garden level access made getting to and from dinner, drinks, the beach and everything else super easy! Highly recommend this spot. And, we were able to bring our dog!!! It was a perfect get away

Not value for money. Positive: No breakfast available location great Negative: Being harassed by emails in excess of 20 in 3 days toilet seat broken and un safe, mirror cracked in bedroom, carpet stained in bedroom, sofa's very uncomfortable. Skirting boards and blinds dusty, dog hairs all over sofa's. Toilet roll holder rusty!

We met up with family, who were staying close, it was perfect location we walked all over Whitby so we loved it we would Positive: It was perfect in that it was just the right size , everything you needed , modern and light well presented . Location perfect we come to Whitby a lot and this location it fantastic, you can walk or bus which is great, loved it Negative: The only thing that that let's this property down, and it could easily be remedied, so would be well worth doing, is please clean the front steps and entrance, because as you walk down the steps, it had rubbish and numb ends ands smell, and first impressions are really important and could be done when house cleaners do the clean before new guests arrive, you have a fabulous apartment, great location so this attention to detail is so important, as non smokers it's not a good look, would definitely come again, it was almost perfect 🤗😉🥰

Cracking location, good value place to stay. Modern and well kitted apartment, nice touches with nespresso coffee pods, tea and milk. A few areas need a fresh coat of paint, but generally well kept and perfectly adequate for a family stay. Plenty of parking literally around the corner. If we were in Whitby again would be happy to return

I will definitely be booking here again for next year’s event. Positive: The location was fantastic; right by Whale Bone Arch and the walk down to the pavilion. It was super comfortable and a great little flat. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. Negative: There was no hand soap, bath soap, or shampoo which we didn’t think to bring since prior stays in these types of accommodation, it was provided.

Positive: Location was perfect for us. It was a half basement flat which means in the summer it is cool to sleep at night. Kitchen was well appointed. Negative: A non slip mat for the smooth bath would be a good addition. I was sent a video of how to access the main house which I entered. There was a key safe with a similar name which tried unsuccessfully to open. Eventually I realised the basement flat had separate entrance. Only my wife and I stayed but if four people stayed getting four round the dining would be difficult.

Cosy, comfortable and fantastic location. Positive: The property was perfectly equipped, cosy, and spacious for three adults and two dogs! It was warm and easy to use the heaters, the property felt secure and everything we needed was in the kitchen space. Negative: The back door in bedroom two lets in a lot of cold air, that bedroom was quite chilly. There was some confusion over the parking arrangements from the listing but this was clear in the information we were given on arrival by hosts. There was signs of the property not having a 'deep clean' between stays - e.g. food splattered on the cabinets in the kitchen and staining on the sofa. I think it's given a turn over clean by hotel staff but not quite hitting all the areas that are used in a self-catered property.

A great find! A lovely basement flat on the quieter West Cliff but easy walk down into the town. Hosts were great and even sent an online guide to the flat and area before our visit. Only comment for visitors is that it is a reasonable walk to the nearest shop, no local convenience stores nearby but that's a very minor point. We will be staying again!

Great stay. Positive: Loved everything. The Beach Haven was lovely, right across from the beach.. Negative: There was nothing we didnt like. It was a great stay.

Pleasant little basement apartment in very handy location. Positive: Its location for the beach and facilities on the west and east cliff are spot on. Modern and well equipped Clean and tidy. Looked fairly freshly decorated. We were quite happy with it being a basement flat. There is no sea view but you do get some daylight. Negative: There was no scratch card provided in the property for the free parking. Luckily we met the cleaner who managed to source one for us. Litter outside front door Toilet seat needs mending. Bedroom furniture, though new is rather flimsy and we can’t imagine it will last long. TV remote is quite hit and miss with some unresponsive buttons. (This may be an easy fix) Mattress could do with a cover /protector Wouldn’t dream of using the outdoor seating provided at the back of the property. Key safe quite difficult to work.

Lovely apartment Positive: Very clean apartment and is really nice. Location really good Negative: The only disappointment is that Beach Haven is the basement level of the building and no views of the sea unless you walk back up the steps. Needs to be a bit more clear on views.

Great little find in Whitby Positive: Great location, nicely decorated and clean, included everything you need. Negative: Just a couple of minor things, mattresses could be a little more comfy and the mirror raised in the back bedroom so that you can plug in the hairdryer.

Positive: The apartment was nice. Clean and compact. Negative: We didn't like being in the basement. No decent view from our apartment, just a brick wall at the front.

Highly recommend this place to stay if visiting Whitby.

Positive: Room and location was fantastic. Clean and comfortable. Not really a sea view as such sadly Negative: Noise from upstairs guests until 3am. Checkout at 10 am not 12 as per room information

Very disappointing! Positive: The location was good. Negative: It was not clean. The kitchen bin was full of smelly food rubbish. There were large stains on the living room carpet. The room smelt of urine. The toilet seat was broken. We only stayed 1 night out of the 3 that we booked. We contacted Host & Stay about the problems and after they had investigated they agreed that there were stains on the carpet but no smell. They are giving us the cost of cleaning as compensation but we feel that this is not satisfactory. They pride themselves on their high standards but clearly not in this case. We will not be staying at one of their properties again.

We enjoyed a lovely few days in Whitby at this apartment. It is in a wonderful location, with the beach a stones throw away from the beach. The apartment was modern and clean and included everything that you’d expect and the beds were dry comfy! The only downside was that the apartment is in the basement so there is no view of the beach, there was no phone signal and outside the front door was quite dirty. We were out all day on the beaches and visiting villages so it didn’t impact us too much!

Nice but... Apartment t was exactly what we needed but the it was evident that no one had been near the property for a considerable length of time as there was rubbish piled up at the entrance door. The rubbish contained drug paraphernalia and I had to move it all away before I open the door otherwise it would have fallen into the entrance. The apartment itself was clean and tidy. I would have expected that a check off the property would have been undertaken before we arrived. Brian

Loved the apartment. Extremely well equipped, lovely decor and spotless. Beds really comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. Brilliant location. Absolutely perfect. Will definitely book again.

The place was so clean and tidy, it had all the amenities! The bathroom was also very good. Heating was perfect and quick to start. Kitchen was lovely too with all the equipment and cleaning facilities provided. Best location in whitby! Highly recommend.

Great accommodation, shame about the parking Positive: The accommodation is really well presented and comfortable. Really good facilities and everything you need for self catering. We took our own utensils but didn't need them as everything we needed was there. It was really clean and tidy. They had tea, coffee and milk ready for when we arrived. Again we'd taken our own as it wasn't expected but was a really nice suprise. Great location and good instructions for getting keys etc. Negative: The parking was not great. There were no parking permits left for our stay as described. After half an hour of searching only to find there wasn't any. There is no phone reception so another walk down the road to find a signal to make a call to the office. Someone brought some after lunch the next day. By thus time we'd paid for the day we arrived and half the next day. I'm not sure if it's the policy but we only got 2 permits in the end. I know we were only staying 2 days, but you've got to park the day you arrive and the day you leave, so if your expected to find alternative parking for these days it should be made clear. We ended up paying around £25 for parking when as far as we were aware it was free. The blinds in the property look nice but do nothing for keeping out any light, sometimes practicality overrides aesthetics.

Perfect location Positive: The Beach Haven was in a great location, just a short walk from the whale bones and beach. Lovely decor and great facilties. Perfect for a few days away. Negative: I'm being pedantic but the bin and toilet roll holder in the bathroom were rusty. Also we were staying on the lower ground floor and although there was a small place to sit outside this wasn't inviting however this didn't bother us as we spent many mornings sat on the bench accoss the road overlooking the beach.

Booked for a 2 night stay and was pleased when I first arrived and saw the amazing location! Close enough to the harbour to be involved and far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet with stunning views! The apartment had everything you could possibly need and was modern and comfortable- a real home from home. Information received from the hosts was superb, all delivered in a very handy online brochure and the Communication before and during was perfect- I felt very happy that I was dealing with professionals and that everything was in hand. We had a lovely stay, just exactly what we were looking for in a mini-break. I would definitely recommend and would use again. Couldn't ask for more!

We had an amazing short break away, we will be back. Positive: The location was spot on. The beach was in front of us, what a view! A beautiful clean long beach. STUNNING! The flat was clean, fresh towels neatly provided on the beds, clear instructions for tv / heating. Great shower and bathroom. Everything you required was provided for a break. Lots of excellent eateries nearby. Negative: It was a basement flat so there was some evidence of damp and a strange mark across the lounge carpet that could have been from a slug!

Positive: Lovely little apartment in a perfect place. Amazing views Lots to do. First time staying In whitby and in an apartment. Bit strange not seeing anyone but the overall experience was 1st class.

Great place to stay. The location is fantastic, especially the beach being so close and the grass in a perfect location for when dogs have to go on a night! The place it’s self has a great vibe, cosy with a lovely finish! Would definitely stay again.

Modern Apartment - Needs Improvements Positive: Modern facilities and adequate space for a family of four plus a dog! Negative: Completely appreciate that it is a dog friendly property and we took ours but the smell of dog was very strong. The apartment had not been adequately cleaned before our stay - none of the surfaces were wiped down and the bath had a razor cover and other people’s hair in it! There were stains on the carpet and clumps of dog hair under the table - not ideal with a 10 month old crawler! We were given a parking permit for the “W” zones which was great until we for a £50 parking fine. When we looked closer at the parking permit it states for 2 days (we booked a 3 night stay) so we got in touch with Host and Stay who asked me to send photos and an email and they would rectify the fine. I have now had an email saying “had I let them know they would have happily dropped off another pass but accept no liability for the fine”. Surely based on our booking the pass should be reflective of the amount of days stay?! Yes it’s a lovely place and great location but this has really tainted our stay.

Excellent location Positive: Very modern decor, excellent central location. The kitchen floor was not clean, it was sandy but the rest of the property was spotless. The only thing that could make the property more comfortable would be to have a TV in the bedrooms as the sofas are quite small in the living room. These are very minir points though and should definitely not detract from this lovely flat. Negative: No TV in the bedrooms

Very Modern In A Good Location Positive: Great location, very modern, heating and hot water brilliant. Everything you need for a self contained stay inclusive of a washing machine. Bright and spacious. Decent size bedrooms and good mattresses. The beach was just across the road and its a short walk into town Negative: Sofas were a bit shallow. We had to take the back cushions off and replace them with scatter cushions. Coffee cups too big for the machine. Didn't realise it was a basement flat.

Incredible mini break! Positive: Everything

Comfortable Positive: Nice deep bath that filled quickly and the light up mirror was fab. Negative: Struggled to find entrance. Tried main door but code didn't work. After short phone call we found out that it was the basement entrance we needed. Not the main one. Also the bathroom sink would not stay full as plug was to small. Took us a while to work out the cooker. These are minor issues.

Super flat, shame about the water pressure Positive: Location was brilliant. The flat felt cosy and was very clean. Carpets, furniture, fittings, beds, bathroom & kitchen fittings all looked brand new. Plenty of good crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils supplied for self catering purposes. Parking was relatively easy to find in the close "W Zone", using the token supplied. Negative: The electric towel rail in the bathroom had failed before we got there, and we arrived to find it disconnected and leaning against the bathroom wall. The water pressure in the bathroom was pathetic (probably to do with the fact that this is a basement flat), and it took an age to get a sink full of water or take a shower (which was a shame as the bathroom all looked brand new) - maybe a pump would help.

Positive: Lovely modern clean place. Brilliant location. Comfy beds and very homely. Negative: Quite a few steps down to the property. Hard with a 5month old baby in a pushchair. But managed. Other than that perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Few days at the North Yorkshire coast Positive: The apartment was stunning, everything was like new. Comfortable, clean and very modern decor. Negative: Hadn't realised we were in the basement. We had been looking forward to the beautiful sea view from the room.

Excellent well decorated and quiet flat lovely bedrooms and excellent location too. Parking is a bit if an issue but hosts offer a scratch card which is really helpful. Really enjoyed our stay and great communication with hosts. Highly recommend staying here

L was very disappointed, didn't live up to expectations Positive: great location. Negative: Towel rail not working, not attached to wall, removed due to leak, found resting against wall. complained about dirty bedding, towels poor quality and stained.

Great location for exploring Whitby. Well maintained and equipped for our family of four.

Perfect location Positive: Perfectly located on the seafront but far away enough from bars and restaurants to not be bothered by any noise. Nice walk to Whitby Abbey and shops etc. Apartment is fresh and modern and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Negative: Didn’t like the pressure to sign up to Stay Hog or whatever it’s called.

A few tweaks needed… Positive: Location superb, newly decorated so fresh and inviting. Furnishing was well considered Negative: No storage facility in bathroom. We had 4 people sharing 1 bathroom - where do we put body washes, shampoo, conditioner, toilet bags, toothbrushes etc plus we had 4 towels to dry daily? The one small towel radiator was not working so we used an indoor airer but with no storage heater that worked, our towels were constantly wet. Beware, the towels supplied are v thin and of poor quality. The one bath mat supplied was so thin, you could see through it! The windows need a clean - they are covered in brick dust and plaster. The outer doors still have their plastic wrap on them. Take it off and clean them - it looks awful! Only a small milk left as a starter pack - pretty mean.
