Beautiful cottage in the heart of Whitby Positive: The most beautiful cottage in the heart of Whitby. Great central location with the bonus of 2 parking spaces. Ideally located for little legs. We travelled with 3 very small children they made it all the way from this place into whitby, up the 199 steps, all around the abbey, back down the steps and all the way back. Cottage itself if beautifully decorated, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. The owners should be very proud. We will be sure to be back again. Thank you for an amazing stay. Negative: Nothing we loved it!!

My family and I had a wonderful stay. Cottage was clean, spacious and as decribed. Everything we needed for a pre christmas break. Lovely location, short walk to Whitby Bay. Would stay again. Great communication and information. Thank you!

Positive: Location. Warm and cosy. All amenities covered. Ideal for a couple or small family. Parking space great for centre of whitby. Very close to centre. Front gated area ideal for dogs. Alot of space upstairs for 6 people. Negative: Living room fine for 2 adults or with small children, although partner commented that you can't lie down on the sofas. Think 6 adults would struggle downstairs. Master bedroom trouble with aerial. Think connection loose where the lead goes into the wall. Didn't make use of the dining room - it's a shame you can't knock through to make a living/ dining area.

Family of 5 meet up and this was the perfect place to stay, relax and catch up. 3 separate bedrooms, and 2 parking spots, it was the ideal place and met all our needs. The house is cosy, clean and welcoming, we felt right at home. And the host was responsive and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay complete. Location of property is wonderful, quiet on a night, easy to access and walkable to/from all Whitby has to offer. We simply loved this place. Thank you!

This house was perfect for us, a family of 4 with 2 dogs! Perfect outside parking for 2 cars which was very hard to find in Whitby. It was 5 min walk into the town centre which was great. The house was clean, was exactly what we needed. Would definitely recommend to others! We will be back again!

Lovely property, perfect for our family and our Whitby exploring. 5 mins walk into the town and just slightly more to the Wishbones. one thing to note is the window in the top bedroom shuts but doesnt lock. So the noise from passing cars/birds was disturbing sleep. Very easy fix. The property was gorgeous and had everything we needed.

Had a great week in the house and used it as a base for exploring Withby and all along the coast. Housed 4 adults, 2 children and a dog easily. Really good that it comes with 2 car spaces.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Arundel Cottage. Very well presented, just as the photos depicted. Very clean, with well equipped kitchen, and bathrooms. The bedrooms were very comfortable. Very peaceful surroundings, and easy walk into the centre and harbour. Perfect for couples or a family. Would highly recommend.

We stayed as a family of 5 with 2 dogs and it was perfect for us. Plenty of space, really clean, plenty of plates, glasses etc and great having a separate dining room and 2 bathrooms. Everywhere was spotless and great extras with the toiletries and towels etc. Clear check in instructions, parking was a massive bonus. Whitby town centre only 10 mins walk, the location was great. Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Arundel Place. The house is extremely well equipped, very well maintained and was spotless. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The kitchen has everything you could need to prepare all types of meals and the dining room is the perfect space for enjoying meals and games with the family. Shower room and toilets were perfect too! The house is a short walk into Whitby town centre where there are plenty of shops and attractions to keep you busy. Being able to more at the property was a real bonus. We really enjoyed staying at Arundel Place, it’s a gem of a place and we’d definitely visit again. Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

Loved our stay with our 2 dogs. Perfect arrangement and set up. Having the parking was a massive bonus with all of the things we had to take with us for the dogs too.

Seamless check in and photos don’t do this place justice Ample space for us 4 with dog 2 nights then 6 of us for 1 night when kids came for a night. Celebrated a 60th and was lovely location close to town but far enough away for a peaceful retreat, great dog routes near by. 3 brilliant nights overall will be back for sure and highly recommend. A lovely, comfortable cottage very close to the centre of Whitby. On many bus routes and with good parking for 2 cars. Great for days exploring Whitby or heading out to the moors and beaches.

Lovely little spot for the weekend. The cottage was very well presented and not too far from the harbour. Being so close to the Cinder Track is also a huge benefit for anyone that likes to walk, run or cycle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This cottage is beautiful, but we had to leave early as the kitchen was unusable. We had taken all our food to cook in this gorgeous kitchen yet it was soo dirty. Host & Stay didn't deal with this problem so we left early. Went straight through Airbnb and they sorted our problem straight away. You can't check in until 4pm due to cleaners coming in, that kitchen hadn't been cleaned in a while. Never want to have to deal with Host&Stay again.

We had a great time at Arundel Cottage. Location is perfect and having two parking spaces is ideal. The house was lovely inside and very clean and nice decor - it’s cozy for 6 adults but with warm weather we used the outside space too. The thing that let it down was the outside space not being clear of rubbish and leaves from the winter and dirty tables. Both back and front need a good clear and wipe and bushes tidying up. Also the listing said coffee machine and coffee, oils and salt/pepper were included and none of these were. Also no washing up liquid, brush and only 2 dishwasher tablets for a 3 nights start for 6 adults and one tea towel. We were told this was a ‘starter pack’ so should buy our own - which should be on the listing so it’s clear it’s not provided for the whole stay. The top floor gets very hot and no fan and there weren’t enough wine glasses for 6 people. It’s an excellent place to stay, just needs better clarity on what is/isn’t provided. They communicated well

Disappointing Positive: Location great, easy walk into Whitby and 2 parking spaces. Beds comfy. Negative: A bit small for 6 people and the top bedroom not having a door was a bit awkward. What was so disappointing was when we arrived I sat on the sofa and realised that 2 settees and rug had been cleaned but were really damp so couldn’t sit on them till the last night of our stay . So only had the dining room so not very comfortable. Spoilt our family weekend.

Nice little cottage, great location for walking into Whitby, with the bonus of a private parking space right outside the door. It is also on the bus route to Robin Hood’s Bay and Scarborough, from where you can walk along The Cinder Track back to the house.

Positive: Location. Cottage clean, cosy, homely and charming. Negative: No lock on the toilet.

It was a chance to meet up with family and we all had a great time. Positive: An excellent location, close to Pannett park with easy access to Whitby town centre. A lovely house with excellent private parking for two cars is which is directly opposite, we had three vehicles and the third found a space in the road behind. The nearby, fairly busy road didn't affect the peace of the house which was quiet and restful. The kitchen is well equipped and the two shower rooms are up to date and well kept. Negative: Cleanliness is a problem in places. Carpets are stained and so are cushions on the beds. The sofa and cushions need a good clean as do the walls in high traffic areas. We stayed in September immediately after the end of the school holidays and dogs are also welcome which may have caused some of the wear and tear.

Absolutely fantastic location for exploring Whitby and the house has everything we could have needed for a week away. Would definitely stay again.

Loved that there was outdoor space to enjoy Negative: The property needed a proper clean, it smelt really foisty and I’ve never seen somewhere with so many cobwebs before, the kitchen lights were horrific the amount of cobwebs that were there, it looked like they hadn’t been done in 5+ yrs. The carpets and sofas could do with a professional clean, they were also really dirty and stained

Enjoyed a family stay, lots of room for 5 of us and easy walk into Whitby with shops, pub’s & restaurants, also close to bus stop to venture further day trips out.

Nice and near amenities easy to get to beach

The cottage was cosy with modern amenities. We had big issues with the windows not locking and they were able to be opened from the outside so did not feel safe. We raised the issues with Host and Stay and the windows were sorted but it took more than 24 hours and numerous messages having to be sent. The company admitted that they were old windows, so they should be replaced. We also found cobwebs and dust in most of the rooms. The doorframes and bannister were dirty, we had to clean them ourselves. Plates in the cupboard were dirty and again had to be washed. A shame as it was a lovely cottage in a great part of Whitby. We did enjoy our stay but the above issues need to be looked into eg the cleaning team.

Whitby heaven Positive: Excellent location a short walk from the harbour and shops. The all important parking space was must have. A comfortable and clean house with all the facilities you need. I will be back in the near future. Negative: Recycling bin missing from outside the property.

We recently stayed at Arundel cottage and had a lovely time. It’s location is great, easy access into the town and walking distance to the harbour and main town attractions. Everything as deceived and looked like the photographs. The house was comfortable, well equipped and the main elements were clean. However there were cobwebs hanging from light fittings and the ceilings and a lot of dust under the sofa (as we found when retrieving something dropped that had rolled underneath) which overall made it feel less clean. A little frustrating that there was a large box of wine that was sat in the dining room that had been delivered for someone else but did rather get in the way. It was a very warm weekend and understandably the attic was hot, it was disappointing that there wasn’t a fan available, or offered, to help the air circulate and help cool the room. Overall accomodation in a good though and in a great location with the bonus of the parking spaces.

We stayed 3 nights and had a lovely break Perfect for family to get together. Good location and would visit again and recommend the home.

Excellent location for visiting Whitby. Great to have the parking spaces. Short walk into town. The house is clean and comfortable, well equipped. Very quiet area. Host and stay were very responsive with one small issue with a window. Whitby is amazing. We recommend the open top bus tour.

Great Location. The poor cleaning and attention to detail lets the property down Positive: Fabulous location only a ten minute walk into the centre of Whitby. Very comfortable property with two separate bathrooms which were very clean. Two dedicated parking spaces outside the property. Negative: The property is let down by whoever is responsible for the cleaning of the property. When we arrived there were still crumbs on the kitchen floor and the sink was dirty. Areas were heavily covered in dust and clearly not been cleaned in months. The back yard was covered in lumps of dirt and moss which had to be swept before we could use it. The back yard is a small space so the fact that there is a step ladder left in there is not helpful. We were a party of 4 adults but the property could accommodate 6 so very disappointed that we were only left 1 tea towel and 2 dishwasher tablets for a 4 day stay.The lack of these little touches and attention to detail lets the property down

Rented this property for 3 nights. The cottage was as lovely as the pictures on the website. The property is ideally located to walk into the town centre and having the 2 parking spaces is a definite advantage. All bedrooms are spacious and the kitchen well equipped. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Lovely house in a brilliant location with parking! Positive: We have stayed here before, the house has everything that you need. Plenty of space, two parking places which is brilliant for Whitby. Kitchen is lovely, bathrooms are both great and clean. Beds are comfortable and the house is generally clean and lovely. Negative: There is nothing I didn’t like, we love this house.

We enjoyed our short stay at Arundel Cottage. Unfortunately the weather spoilt our stay as we were unable to go out and about and explore further a field however the cottage is in walking distance of the centre however this would be risky in the current condition. The cottage was warm & cosy and nicely furnished however could do with nicer sofas, they are a bit tired. Be prepared to take your own soaps/handwash/shampoo etc, this needs to be noted in the description. Also if it’s snowing you are likely to experience problems accessing the little road unless salt is provided. Thankfully snow is a rare event however owners need to be prepared for worst case and supply all that is necessary because if there was an accident/slip then guests could make a valid claim. We managed with kettle water and a spade to dig and clear the route of snow. Now safely home. Host and Stay are great property manager they are quick to respond to messages.

Beautiful house in an ideal location, close to the centre of Whitby, private parking for 2 cars. Inside was modern and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The host’s are brilliant and respond straight away, extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely stop here again.

The perfect place to stay for exploring Whitby. It was within walking distance of all the main places to visit and lovely and quiet on an evening. We had a wonderful stay – the house was lovely, spacious, and in the perfect location. The only downside was the late check-in and very early check-out. If a 4pm check-in is required, a 12pm check-out would feel much fairer. It also would have been helpful to have oven gloves available, as these would have been useful. That said, overall it was a really enjoyable few days, and we would happily come again. Thank you!

We had a lovely two night stay. The house felt very homely and comfortable. Excellent location with only a short walk into the town centre and parking was a bonus. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of storage space for clothes etc. location felt very safe but you do get a lot of noise from the outside traffic, however this did not bother us. We would stay again.

Lovely cottage but host and stay spoilt the break, Positive: Lovely cottage within walking distance of the centre Negative: Miscommunication with the booking agency. We were told we could park on the drive before checking but when we arrived in the afternoon the cleaners also arrived and rang host and stay to say we had parked early and we were informed we had to move the car immediately even though there was sufficient space for two cars. We then spent the next hour having to prove that we had been granted permission. This was not a good start to our short stay. Also the 4pm check-in and 10am check out doesn't make good value for money, £235 for 18 hours.

Positive: Comfortable beds and good shower pressure. Very good location and parking on site. Negative: Garden outside was very scruffy and uncared for. Not a nice place to sit because most of the plants were either overgrown or dead. The place was clean on the surface but could do with a thorough clean as we certainly left the kitchen cooker and utensils cleaner than we found them.

Great property. Everything provided for a great stay. All Whitby’s attractions at walking distance and bus stop at end of road for those exploring further afield without a car. The two carpark spaces were great and a rare thing in Whitby. The only comment would be for those booking the property to be aware the twin room on the 2nd floor is without a door, so depending on who is using the room, lacks a bit of privacy and sound control!

This was our first visit to Whitby... and we loved it. The cottage was home from home... it suited our purpose very well indeed. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Great location. Close to town so easy to explore Whitby.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The decor was charming, the lounge was cosy and inviting, and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was a lovely home away from home. The only small suggestions for improvement would be to consider adding fans, especially for the attic room, which got quite warm due to limited window opening. Aside from that, everything was perfect. The location was ideal for exploring Whitby, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Lovely immaculate house. Very welcoming and comfortable. Kitchen well kitted out. Lovely separate dining room. All in all a really nice place to stay. Chose this house because of parking spaces which is a great bonus as it’s pretty impossible to park in Whitby centre especially in the peak season. Also a reasonable walk into town- a bit uphill coming back but not really steep. The walk back from town was a bit rowdy at nighttime and noisy late at night on the Saturday outside the house. But it was the first sunny day of the year and I think people were letting off steam!

The cottage felt like a home rather than sparse worn down holiday let. Will definitely stay there again. Only downside was the rubbish on the street, but not connected with this property.

Fantastic place to stay. A beautiful little home and extremely well equipped. Located in a quiet street less than a 10 minute walk into Whitby town centre. To be honest I booked this house because it was one of the few that had parking, but what a find it was. Would highly recommend and we would definitely stay again.
